The X-men run missions and work together with the NYPD, striving to maintain a peaceful balance between humans and mutants. When it comes to a fight, they won't back down from protecting those who need their help.
Haven presents itself as a humanitarian organization for activists, leaders, and high society, yet mutants are the secret leaders working to protect and serve their kind. Behind the scenes they bring their goals into reality.
From the time when mutants became known to the world, SUPER was founded as a black-ops division of the CIA in an attempt to classify, observe, and learn more about this new and rising threat.
The Syndicate works to help bring mutantkind to the forefront of the world. They work from the shadows, a beacon of hope for mutants, but a bane to mankind. With their guiding hand, humanity will finally find extinction.
Since the existence of mutants was first revealed in the nineties, the world has become a changed place. Whether they're genetic misfits or the next stage in humanity's evolution, there's no denying their growing numbers, especially in hubs like New York City. The NYPD has a division devoted to mutant related crimes. Super-powered vigilantes help to maintain the peace. Those who style themselves as Homo Superior work to tear society apart for rebuilding in their own image.

The woman’s eyes seemed to study him, and he almost had to guess that she found him wanting. If that was true well he’d simply have to make a good impression wouldn’t he. Perhaps he was underdressed to compliment her perfectly otherwise they were a decently matched pair.
“Isabel, a pleasure.” He took her hand and turned slightly so that her fingertips were bare towards his mouth leaving the faintest kiss upon her fingers. He released her hand and answered her gesture with a motion in the direction of the restaurant. “ so , are you simply enjoying the weather today? Or are you out to make the news?”
He asked in a conversational tone. The walk would be a short one he could already see the shape of the sign sticking out in the front of the building. Across the street there was a man with a sign proclaiming they had the best gyros. He was certainly inclined to agree. He had picked the place for two reasons, it was certainly delicious and it was conveniently close, he had a feeling that he was treading on thin ice with her. or perhaps that others were always to walk on eggshells around her.
He had at least one ally, a young lady was taking up the cause, he thought of New York as a large community that would stand up for each other, but his view was dimming of this neighborhood and quick. Aedus grimaced down at the boy in front of him. The taunt about beating a minor put it in his head, He wouldn’t mind it but first he had to take care of the rest of the situation. Aedus pushed a pair of the bigger boys that wanted to join in on attacking chase to the ground. His hand whipped out and snatched a baseball bat from a third kid’s hand. One of the Adult’s stepped back at this point and Tony tried to get out of his reach. Aedus’s free hand wrenched the front of the boy’s shirt into a knot and held him tight. “Hey freak lover, who do you…” Aedus’s’ glare silenced him and the words his said next got the majority of the crowd’s attention. A couple of the younger kids were grabbing at chases legs.
It was time to bluff, if that didn’t work he would go after the adults with the bat and threaten that the kids were next. His words left his lips with venomous contempt.
“You think that he is the only mutant here?” Aedus shouted in Tony’s face. His feet slightly lifted off the ground “You want to know what my power is?” his eyes popped open mimicking a face his grandfather used to make when he was cranky and in the mood to smack someone with his cane. “ I boil blood, I can burn you from the inside out.” Tony’ started shaking and resisting like a cat above a bath. Aedus’s eyes landed on the New Yorker with the have accent. “You want to get these kids out of here alive? Make them run.”
Bluff called.
The man’s eyes lit up with fear and his hands went for his waist band his right hand clutched at the handle of a revolver. Great. Aedus pushed Tony with a force that he wouldn’t have used on the kid otherwise, but he was hardly going to feel sorry for him either. The kid smashed into the adult and Aedus came charging after. If he didn’t get control of that gun things were only going to get worse and it was already spiraling out of control. Aedus tackled the pair to the ground into the middle of the road. Quite a few of the kids were scattering and the other adult was running with a phone to his ear.
She made him think of someone that was used to getting her way, anytime, every time. The fact that he didn’t let her simply dismiss him seemed to irritate her, but then she hadn’t told him that he was bothering her either. She didn’t work for the News, hmmm, well that was good. He didn’t have to start watching TV. Who the heck was she that she was in the News a lot? Maybe she was a reality Tv star or some sort of celebrity with a rep for being strong willed. The way she said risk giving me the time of day had him a little bit worried. Maybe she was the daughter of mobster or something. Was she dangerous? Hmmm. Head just have to roll with it The Corners of his mouth lifted, he thought he’d lost her for sure when she crossed her arms and was pouring off attitude like a waterfall. “ I might cross to the side of the street with you on it, but away from you, I think not, but then I guess I’m not like most people.” He wasn’t like most people? Who knows, it sounded good though. The way she reluctantly almost carefully accepted his offer made him wonder if she’d had her heart broken. He’d be careful with her, but he would be himself as well. “ Do you like Greek food Miss.” He paused. “ I’m Aedus, Aedus Teague. It’s a pleasure to meet you.” He held out his hand in a formal offer of greeting and hopefully a bid to get those arms uncrossed. Besides there were studies that said the first five minutes were the best time to break the touch barrier. And if their first touch involved a kiss... well then all the better right? if she was used to being avoided then he might as well keep her on tilt. with giving her generously more attention then she received.
“There is a great Greek place just a block away.” Low lighting, good prices, a great atmosphere to get to know a lady and even better food.
Aedus did his best to read body language and he was catching a definite cold breeze off of this one. He figured he’d give it one more shot and step it up a bit before he lost her completely. He’d have to before she simply walked off. He subconsciously wondered if his breath were bad, no minty fresh he brushed just before he left, his cologne was subtle and he had enough deodorant on. Was it just him? Hmmm.
“On the news, that could be it, Are you a reporter? Or A meteorologist.” If she was a weathergirl then he needed to start watching TV. In the back of his mind he always thought that the woman in the calendar reminded him of a certain criminal, but where he made the connection of seeing her on the street he never connected her to the career criminal. Aedus read the bored look on her face and while he felt a bit of disappointment, he didn’t strike out quite so quick too often. He’d give up if it was what she wanted; he wasn’t one to force the issue either, nor give up too easily. He tried to catch her eye by looking directly into her chocolaty orbs. “I apologize you must have guys chatting you up a lot, if I’m bothering you just let me know. I just could swear I recognize you from somewhere. Though, if you’d like to grab a bite to eat with a complete stranger, I’d be up for that as well.” He tilted his head down and feigned being shy.
He saw it all happen in slow motion as he peddled his bike nearly a block off of a park. A kid smashed the perfect pitch sending it sailing through the air like a regular home run derby, he was a sandlot hero. He watched as an outfield ran for it and ran for it some more, if he had to guess it was a battle of the team captains the best player on each team facing off. His brain did the math before anyone else's the kid was going into the street and there wasn't a thing he could do about it. He peddled harder as he watched the boy run into the road and momentarily in front of a car, but a blonde kid saw what was happening too and moved on it fast. He slammed into the older boy with a rush that knew it was life or death; the pair sailed through the air and hit the pavement. Life saved, it was awesome.
Aedus remembered to breathe as the car that almost hit not one but two boys just kept driving. He slowed his pace and his eyes widened as not one dark haired boy but two duplicates sat there. He was saved by a mutant that was even better. What happened next, happened quick.
"Hey!" it was all his mind could think of. Hey. He hoped off his bike tossing it to the ground and treating it with a reckless abandon that he would make up to it later. He waded into to the angry and annoyed crowd pushing as necessary. Moving toward the mutant kid that was being pressed up against a parked car in a semicircle. "Back off, you people know what you'd be gathering around if it wasn't for him? That ungrateful punk's body." An angry finger thrust out at Tony. His thumb motioned over his shoulder toward the young mutant as he shoved his way into the crowd, trying to put his own body between the crowd and the young hero. "He just saved his life. You people should be thanking him." It felt like he was having to explain things to someone particularly dimwitted, why couldn’t they see he was a hero? He puffed up to make it obvious that he was willing to do more than just stand up for the kid with words. But the crowd was getting larger and he might as well have been speaking a different nonsense for as much help his words did them.
"You can forget about it, I'm not thankin a freak" said one man in a heavy New York accent. "Yeah!" came the bigoted echo of the worked up crowd. Aedus's hands curled into fists as the crowd tried to press in further. He would be damned if he let someone be punished for saving a life.
Aedus smiled to himself, it was that hot model from his calendar. He turned from the odd trio of musicians and casually made his way toward her, He was already ninety percent sure it was her, but it wouldn’t hurt to get a closer look. Either way, asking if she was the gorgeous model that he recognized couldn’t hurt right. In fact hadn’t he used that before to pick up a girl…. His mind wandered to who exactly he had chatted up under the pretense that he thought she was a model. Whichever, If he didn’t remember she must not have been all that interesting. Besides His day was about to become more interesting.
She was tall, nearly as tall as he was, minus the boots she’d be a couple inches shorter. She wasn’t one of those models that looked like she hadn’t eaten in a year which was half of the reason he bought the calendar, he was impressed that she had a nice and realistic figure. She also had wonderfully long brown hair kept up in an almost ridiculously large bow, it seemed to suit her. He came alongside the suspender wearing beauty. “Excuse me Ms, but I think I recognize you from somewhere, you wouldn’t happen to be a secretary locally? No, that’s not it. Do you work in modeling? I can’t seem to put my finger on it, But I recognize your eyes.” That was good, just the right amount of smooth without coming on to strong. She did have wonderful eyes those plus a good pout on her lips and he would be putty in her hands. Note to self: don’t ever tell a woman how to control you.
A light breeze flowed through the street carrying the playful melody of the band along behind them, He should of tipped them more, anything that could offer the noise of traffic a run for its money was welcome. He looked to the woman imploringly as if still trying to figure out where he knew her from.

TurkzilliaNew York is not a safe place for the holidays.
Aedus walked down 3rd St with his hands in the pockets of his dark blue jeans, his arms cocked just right so his broad shoulders drew his plain maroon shirt tight across his chest. He flashed his bright white smile with a confident ease at random passers-by. His black hair was styled just enough to look like it hadn’t touched it all day. It was his day off and he was a bit bored, something that was easily resolved in the best city in the world. He went out his apartment door and picked a direction and walked, someone or something would catch his eye and his boredom problem would be solved.
He moved down the sidewalk and took in the sights, tourists and local’s alike heading to locations that weren’t quite here. He passed a newsstand that filled the corner with headlines from the Wall Street protest to grooming crazes that charm troops. He couldn’t see anything worth stopping for so he continued past a café and a convenience store. He made way down the sidewalk until paused by some street performers; it was an interesting mix of Jamaican pan drums, acoustic guitar and flute. He tossed a few bucks in the guitar case and turned to spot someone that he couldn’t help but think he knew from somewhere.
Another typical day. Fill his back pack with envelops and other small packages that needed swift attention and dole them out at different locations, A delivery went something like this: Ride through traffic with enough skill to get you there fast and alive. Hop off your bike and throw it onto your shoulder as to avoid finding a place to lock it up and possibly still get it stolen. Head to the drop off point typically a front desk. If the front desk was occupied by an attractive female, Flirt. if it was an unattractive female,Flirt. if it was an older attractive female, Flirt. if it was an older unattractive female and no one was around....Flirt. If it was a a guy, talk about the Yankees, Jets, Rangers or Knicks or possibly women. drop of the package get a signature and possibly a number, Pickup the outgoing for the day and hop back into traffic.
He'd been graduated for nearly half a year and his degree wasn't yielding anything that amazing. Just internships that didn't pay and didn't allow him enough time to work on the side. In other words it was offering him poverty. He was willing to do what he had to, but how was he supposed to live if he didn't make money, if he didn't make money how was he going to pick up women? Honestly, you could only get so far on a ladies tab. Today had been a lot of the same at work, but it was a good job that left him free to skip the gym on cardio days.He still hit the weights as necessary but it was nice multitasking while making money.
Aedus stood over his bike with package in hand, his job took him all over the place, and to all sorts of places. He delivered what he was supposed to deliver as fast as he could. Which was faster than the competition by half on a bad day. He lifted his bike onto his shoulder, he was tempted to lean it against the wall of the alley, but this place was a bit on the weird side, and he would not trust his means of transportation to such an alley. Was that a rat he just saw? Future sight...eh.The Manilla envelope was addressed to the location, and the person to sign for it was, Jude. No last name, just Jude. That was all he had to go on. Jude at Future Sight the writing was written in a loopy writing that was almost absolutely feminine.
What the hell, ya know? Typically it was leave this at the front desk at business co. Not today though, not this delivery, nope he was in a dingy alleyway with an envelope, that he was pretty sure was empty. After you picked these things up long enough you got a pretty decent idea of what you were carrying and this felt like an empty manilla envelope. If it was empty why was he delivering it? Whatever kept him employed he supposed, besides this was his last delivery for the day so from here it was just the ride home. He climbed the steps and knocked on the door.

Mutations
Mutation description: Volcanic eruption. Initially, the body sprays hot smoke and ash from various and random pores on the body, from there fissures crack his now dry skin, his body shakes and twitches wildly. instead of bleeding however the body begins to form small beads of magma barely contained in his skin, he then spontaneously combusts, momentarily being wrapped in flame, at this point it is unbearably painful, the process is rapid however and in the time that it takes for his items of clothing to burn away the initial pain has subsided, the fire dampens as his flesh turns to lava. For the next ten to thirty minutes he maintains a semisolid Lava state.
Strengths/ Weaknesses: The strengths and weakness are strongly tied together in this mutation, His temperature is at 1300°F(700 °C) his body is in a semisolid malleable state. While in this altered form his senses of touch, taste, scent and hearing are reduced to almost a tenth of the norm, while his sight oddly is increased to nearly double efficiency. His strength and speed are nearly halved as well. The strengths and weaknesses are those placed on him by the physical and volatile state of his body.
Secondary mutation description: As his body inevitably cools Aedus takes on an obsidian statuesque appearance, his figure is now sexless and sleek, the hair has been burned from his flesh and will grow naturally as the form deteriorates
Strengths: the major advantage of this stage is that it lends an immense toughness to Aedus, He of course has stone skin, but on top of that four of his senses are still reduced by half of his norm(see prior) His sight is still improved by a fourth, and his strength and speed are returned to the equivalence of normalcy though with his now heavier and dense frame. His body maintains this form a day for every minute he was in the Lava state. At the end of the cycle his body sheds the obsidian and he is returned to his natural state with only a hint of stubble any where his hair used to be.

History Of Your Character:
Aedus grew up in the great state of New York and the greater city of NYC, Born to an Americanized pair of Irish Americans he grew up hearing about how the Irish got their start stateside. How they were treated, how they behaved, how the stereotypes around the Irish aren’t completely founded in fiction, how the fighting spirit is something to be proud of, while violence simply begets more of the same. And they certainly didn’t need another generation spurring them on, the majority of them were to be broken and proven false. He took in tales of Faye at his gran’s knee and a switch at his father’s. He always learned a lesson from both. He attended various schools as his parents careers fluctuated and batted them from district to district. His main focus of study was fun; He preferred athletics to just about anything else, he excelled in sports and when forced to study he favored science over other subjects, math had it uses but science was useful and in Aedus’ opinion was what gave man its claim to the world. They had to offer and got a full ride soccer scholarship to Queens College. He played and dominated most sports with a ferocious presence. He completed a BA in biochemistry which he is currently letting go to waste as he continues to pursue his entertaining part time job as a bike currier. He protested the registration act, and shared an odd dream with many others, but how it could be he didn’t know. He was human, he got his genes checked after the dream and confirmed it his gene wasn’t and wouldn’t likely become active. At 22 it seemed that he had more reason than most to naysay that the others saw the future. What a load, to base something as insubstantial as a dream. He was no mutant and he saw it, lived it even. But here he was a college graduate without so much as a spark of mutation to call his own.

Sample RP: “Aedus. No, my name is not eat us. Switch the T for a D and you’ve got it.” The young man corrected the girls at the bar. “It’s an Irish name.” He liked to point out that he was Irish when he got the chance, he didn’t have the fantastic accent so he felt the need sometimes. He could have faked it if he wanted to; he certainly had enough relatives that were the genuine article. “What’s your name?” He queried She smirked back being coy and trying to play at hard to get, but he already knew he had her, she had that smirk in her eyes, the one that meant if he chatted her up long enough he’d get a phone number and a date. He purchased a pair of amaretto sours and slid one to her.
“My names Kimmy.” She replied. Aedus’ eyes ran down her figure as she took a drink stealing a glance at her figure while she was occupied. Long legs, miniskirt and high heels, a nice tan that hinted at her South American heritage, her top accentuated her curvy figure, in a complementary way without giving into tackiness. Her dark hair fell past her shoulders, she kept her makeup natural as his eyes settled on her face and she set the glass down on the counter once more, she had full lips, a petite nose and large dark eyes that he imagined, were like a doe’s in headlights. She was frozen in anticipation of the excitement; he would bring to her life. Or so he imagined, but she was more mischief than maiden as she whispered her next sentence. It lightly floated over the background noise. “And that is my boyfriend Brock,” The brunette tilted her head toward a large fellow at the pool table that was staring at him with all the intensity of a bull ready to charge. He must have been waiting for eye contact to take place to make his move. Was he going to just let him buy her drinks until he noticed the burly pool player? Brock hadn’t put aside the pool stick, as if he weren’t intimidating enough. Aedus slide from the bar stool planting both of his feet on the ground, still in a relaxed manner he leaned his arms on the counter. “Kimmy, I’d like to see you again sometime; you’re enjoying this too much, to not know how to have a good time. Leave me your number if he knocks me out before I have a chance to write it down myself.” Kimmy only had time to let out a fluttery laugh before Brock showed up.
The beast of a man towered over Aedus, and he wasn’t short by anyone’s definition…Well, maybe Brock’s. He stood there for a moment as if to let Aedus soak up what he faced. “ Why are you leering at my Kimmy?” the giant rumbled. Still leaned back and with a nonchalance that surprised him Aedus gave Kimmy a long once over. “It’s kind of hard not to isn’t it Brock, She’s a beautiful woman. Alone at the bar, if you expect her to stay alone at a bar for long you haven’t been paying attention.” Aedus Replied. Brook shook his head slowly as if trying to get the rusty gears in his head to turn. “That don’t mean you should be drooling on her shoes and buying her drinks.”
“ Well, you leave a gorgeous woman alone by at a bar and she isn’t going to go thirsty.” Aedus laughed as he tossed another compliment to Kimmy right to Brock's face.. “Hey Denny, tell Brutus here it’s a bad Idea. Going down this path isn’t good for anybody.” The Bartender looked up from a few other costumers and called out. “Leave me out of it Aedus, take it out side if you’re gonna scrap though.” He’d have to remember to thank Denny for that sometime soon, the sorry sack couldn’t even try to help cut him some slack, in fact he made the situation worse. “Yeah ya, bastard let’s take it out side.” Brock repeated like a parrot after a cracker. Aedus leaned over toward Kimmy. “I’ll bring him back, but I don’t know what shape he’ll be in.” A hand full of his shirt was now in Brock’s fist and he was flung toward the entrance like bag of trash toward a dumpster. Damn, looks like it would be a fight after all, he thought he might be able to get away with talking his way out but it looked like the more words he spoke the more dumbfounded and annoyed Brock got. So be it. he straitened his shirt out and walked out front, with Brock only feet behind. Aedus side stepped to the right of the door and waited for the lunk to walk out, as Brock past he looking from side to side a smile started to come to his face thinking that Aedus had ran for it. Brock was about to call out something mocking he was sure but instead He made a startled sound. The Irishman landed a kick to the popliteal causing the big guy’s knee to buckle, it was called a dead leg. Aedus moved around him quickly and let out a round of rapid successive blows to Brock's face and ears. He was doing it hard enough to leave bruises and he avoided the nose. He didn’t want to do anything permanent. But he really wanted to knock him out because he didn’t think Brock would be showing much mercy. He had the element of surprise for the moment, but it was going to hurt if the linebacker, refrigerator shaped fellow swung back. Brock's head rocked back and forth and it didn’t seem like he was going to fight back for a moment, he was still thrown off guard. Then the ham sized fist formed and his knee came up to lift himself off the ground. As he stood Brock swung recklessly and hard toward Aedus jumped back from the hay-maker and then forward pressing himself close to make the other man’s punches awkward, he had already brought his own arms in tight to allow him some rabbit punches and jabs. He fired off a few more jabs to the larger man’s chin and didn’t seem to be making headway. Brock's fist came down harshly into his side and he heard a crack that had to have been a rib or two. It shot a wild amount of pain into his side, but he did his best to ignore it, but he was also throwing caution to the wind. He hammered away at the Brute’s Jaw line some more and then leaned back and brought his elbow in across the bigger man’s throat as hard as he could, crushing his throat momentarily and sending the big man back to his knees. He then repeated the process across the man’s face and sent him teetering and to crumple over at the entrance of the bar. He stepped over Brock and back into O’Malley cat’s it was a local college hang out that he had enjoyed since before he should have been enjoying it. His hand went gingerly to his side where he expected to feel a bone or two misplaced he found his shattered cell phone. His side would still be needing some TLC he could feel his flesh turning ripe purple under his shirt. He still couldn’t help but smile at the surprised look on Kimmy’s face when he was the one walking back in.
Denny shaking his head behind the bar stated blandly “ After seeing you walk back from that one, I think I just might warn the next guy.”
“So, Kimmy about that number, skip it. How about we go out tonight? somewhere a little bit less rough than here, a movie and a late diner perhaps?” She consented with a nod as she stood and gathered her purse. He wondered why he even bothered with her. But he’d be feeling that punch for a while so he might as well get a date or two out of it.
