The X-men run missions and work together with the NYPD, striving to maintain a peaceful balance between humans and mutants. When it comes to a fight, they won't back down from protecting those who need their help.
Haven presents itself as a humanitarian organization for activists, leaders, and high society, yet mutants are the secret leaders working to protect and serve their kind. Behind the scenes they bring their goals into reality.
From the time when mutants became known to the world, SUPER was founded as a black-ops division of the CIA in an attempt to classify, observe, and learn more about this new and rising threat.
The Syndicate works to help bring mutantkind to the forefront of the world. They work from the shadows, a beacon of hope for mutants, but a bane to mankind. With their guiding hand, humanity will finally find extinction.
Since the existence of mutants was first revealed in the nineties, the world has become a changed place. Whether they're genetic misfits or the next stage in humanity's evolution, there's no denying their growing numbers, especially in hubs like New York City. The NYPD has a division devoted to mutant related crimes. Super-powered vigilantes help to maintain the peace. Those who style themselves as Homo Superior work to tear society apart for rebuilding in their own image.

“OH Holy, ************* ****** ********* ********** ********!” Aedus shouted at the top of his lungs in what wasn’t quite his manliest of tones. Aedus hand snatched Katrina’s hand and pulled her behind him, it was like a bad scary movie that they didn’t know they were in. If he had been watching he would have derided the pair for wanting to enter a graveyard at night on Halloween, didn’t they know they were in Zombie night 3?
He held her peachy hand in a grip that wouldn’t let any zombie take her away. His other hand sneaked into the other side of his robot costume and pulled out a pair of shiny silver nun chucks. He assumed that when Alister wanted them there, there would be a taste of danger. Besides a robot with nun chucks was irresistibly awesome. He glance around the grave yard to see another set of fingers emerging with the same slow pace as the first one and a third zombie still that decided face first was the way to go. His gag reflex was tested as the face emerged with one eye mostly melted and the other infested with worms.
He looked behind him them and saw that for the moment the path was clear. “Katrina, get clear of the cemetery. He backed up slowly. If she broke into a run he would not be far behind. His wrist started to twists the nun chunks into a dangerous loop.
Aedus found it hard not to smile when Agnes spoke of the school she attended and boarded at. If she wasn’t a perfect recommendation to the place, well she was and that was that. He was previously concerned that Chase might have been a bit too young to have many class mates, from his studies he knew that the majority of mutants gained their abilities in puberty and seeing as he was well before that event in his life He was concerned that it would be him and teenagers, while it was the majority of the school it wasn’t as if he would be the only one.
“Sorry if I keep bringing it up, I’m just finding myself very curious about the place. ” Aedus tilted his head to the young man’s question, how to answer that gently but honestly. “Well, a second chance at having somewhere more stable, something to count on, I would think.” He looked to Agnes for confirmation and help.
Aedus cleaned a little bit of soda off the glass, not realizing that the boy hadn’t had carbonation at all, he was raised on soda pop, so the idea of a kid without soda was alien to him. He probably just breathed in a bit of it; He had done that plenty of times. Aedus shrugged his shoulders. “No big deal.”
As if to confirm that he wasn't worried about making a mess his hand accidentally hit the edge of his plate and knocked some of his fried rice on to the table. He calmly picked up the same napkin and ushered the fallen onto the napkin of no return.
Aedus nodded his approval as he set down his tray. “Looks good to me, there isn’t really a wrong way. You can eat whatever you like and how much of it too. If you don’t really like something it is ok to put it to the side and save the space in your stomach for something you might like better. In other words you can get away with some stuff you might not in a different restraint that isn’t a buffet.”
The waiter came back for their drink orders. For which Aedus ordered a root beer, for whatever reason root beer went with Asian food. It didn’t make sense to him, but it made sense to his mouth. So he didn’t argue. “Also, we have as long as you want, so you can pace yourself and take your time to enjoy it.”
He looked over the others food making note of what they got that he might have missed. He looked to Agnes curious about the school. “So, the school you spoke of earlier, they have all grade levels there?” It was worth getting some more information about.”
Aedus smiled and nodded encouragingly and dragged the coffee table closer. God he hoped that she couldn't pick up everything that had happened in this living room, if the fork offended her, well it was better not thought of. He picked up a pair of the work books moving them closer still.
" Well, this dvd covers every letter in the alphabet, but I don't want to over whelm you with the sesame street. so lets practice writing the letter A B and C and we can watch the next episode. we can keep going like that until you are tired of puppets." Aedus grabbed a couple of pencils off the table offering Noel one of the implements. He leaned over his book and went up one side of the letter 'A' and down the other crossing the teepee in the middle, next to it he went up the right side and circle down and around creating a fat little 'a' He proceeded to slowly write the capital and lower cases of the next two as well. "B is for Boat and C is for Cat"
He looked to the woman to ensure she held the pencil correctly, cautiously correcting her grip of the writing utensil as needed.
"Hmmmm, I could see how that would be difficult, But it can't be all bad right?" He tilted his head just to the left wondering greedily if she could do what years of psychiatry couldn't and what it would cost him. Would the rest of the memories have to go as well? He wouldn't ask. not today. If he was to really forgot the woods, he'd forget her sacrifice too wouldn't he.
His head snapped up as her voice jogged him from a downward spiral into memories best left untouched. "We'll have you reading in no time. My sleeves are well stocked."
Aedus went across to the large tv across the room. it was the right size for the room, he was tempted to get a stupidly big tv but he managed to stay with a reasonable size and price. He lifted the dvd from his back pack of tricks and slide the children's dvd into the ps3. a couple flicks of the remote had the dvd menu up and the bright primary colors on screen. The Yellow bird dominated the majority of the screen. He pushed play and big bird spoke excitedly in his perpetual subdued tones. His tusk-less mammoth sidekick snufalufagus was learning to sound out letters for a story book and soon they broke out into song, that showed the letter as they sang the name, and then made the sounds it would make.
Aedus dug threw his bag and put a few dvd's on the shelf, and then put down a stack of four five work books that would help them and a stack of that varied in difficulty. He then set down on the couch and watched. He honestly seemed to be enjoying the walk down memory lane.
Running through the forest. Running for their lives. Running in the darkness. Running from the monster, Its paws covered with bone knives. It wasn’t quite a bear, Much more a beast. it’s blood curdling roar , A scream for a feast. He ran faster than her She would never be more.
“That makes so much sense. I mean the reading thing. I just , you’re too smart not to know.” He knew something was odd about the situation. The pieces just didn’t fit. “Casanova? Wait what? Do you see memories of? Or was that a guess...” if that didn’t sound like a complaint he didn’t know what did, but why was she jealous. Or offended by the fact he had girls here that used his fork. Wow, if she could see everything that had gone on in this apartment… he had it since he was a sophomore in college so. Yeah. Not good. His hand instinctively went to the back of his head. “I have some forks that haven’t been used, by anyone. It’s a fancy china set if you want.” He wasn’t sure why it mattered that other girls had used the fork…he assumed it was the girls, But if it was the fork, well he could fix that.
He smiled at the admission to let him win. ” It won’t, it’s not really a full episode, the part we want anyway.” He finished off his salad and sipped his drink patiently while Noel finished her food.
Aedus turned his head to think over Katrina’s suggestion. It was the true meaning of the holiday…at least in Mexico. Or so he had heard the day of the dead. And she wanted to show respect, she didn’t quite seem the cemetery prankster type. “Sounds like a reasonable idea. “ He hated graveyards. A traumatic childhood experience introduced him to the functionality of a graveyard, due to a friend’s death much, much too early. This wasn’t the cemetery but it still tugged at a memory he’d rather not dwell on.
He was about to ask if she had ancestors here when she answered his question first. Aedus opened the little gate which was to his surprise already unlocked; he had thought that there might be better security with hoodlums being on the prowl in bigger numbers tonight. “You’re interesting Katrina, I doubt most people would look on a cemetery tonight and think about being respectful. “He spoke with a tone of approval.
If it wasn’t his particular cup of tea, he certainly wouldn’t leave her to explore it on her own. “I’m not quite the praying type, but I certainly think some positive thoughts and reflection can’t hurt.”
“hmmm. I hadn’t thought about it like that. I have been running into a lot more mutants lately, at least that I have noticed. I don’t really think that it is a matter of snubbing or not.” He hadn’t thought of it that way. Were they really that tight nit of a community? They certainly seemed to be attracted to other groups of mutants. Safety in numbers, maybe. “I don’t really operate with ulterior motives. I mean tonight, we’re here because I want to help, it would be easy to try to turn it into some kind of odd date, but that isn’t my intention, sure if we both wanted to take that route sometime. Cool. But if not well I’m simply glad to hang out.”
Aedus raised an eyebrow. “ I haven’t heard of an uninteresting ability, but I won’t pry. And if you want to skip bigbird’s abc’s well, we can go the manual route and go with a work book, no biggie. I thought it’d be useful because it does all the sounds and what not with it". Aedus discussed the situation around devouring a lobster and his salad back and forth. He did a pretty good job on the lobster; he was concerned it would be undercooked.
Aedus shrugged. “It’s my pleasure, guys. Luckily they have forks and knives too. I can do most stuff except for Rice. Rice seems like it wants to explode if I pick it up, not really explode…but it doesn’t get into my mouth either. They can be fun.” Aedus lead the group to the trays and plates, Silver ware and everything else. He picked up a fork and a pair of chopsticks.
Aedus made his way down the line until he had a plate full of food, He made sure to pick up some of the little sugar covered biscuits, they were his favorite. Later, he would pick up where he left off. He glanced at the others. He looked to Chase to see if he was having any trouble. Agnes would be able to fend for her self obviously, but if chase needed help carrying his tray, he'd be sure to help.
A large pill held between a pair of fingers, tilt your head back, swallow, and become a god.It was too easy, He was in love with himself and what he would become. Powerful, of consequence. An ancient force to be reckoned with. His heart fluttered as he burst into flame.
Aedus raised his bushy black eyebrows at her initial statement. “I’m not a mutant,” The statement had a bit of a lie on it, but the next statement would clarify and might help to get any unsavory flavor out her mouth. “At least not yet, I hadn’t ever really expected to be until I met that fortune teller. I look forward to it, though it looks like I will come with complications. I assume most mutations do.” He shrugged. “and no I took the bat off one of the punks when I was trying to move the group away.”
“I wouldn’t say I idolize mutants, there are certainly those out there that are less than deserving of their abilities.“ a certain bone wielding maniac came to mind. “But I find evolution fascinating; I have a BA in Biochemistry because of my interest in mutation. I wouldn’t say I am a fan boy. It is certainly hard not to be impressed though. Do you have any genetic skills I’d be interested in? or perhaps you’ve had a bad experience?” There was more to this line of questions, he didn't have any secrets though.
His mind then looped back around to the beginning. “ what’s not to understand, though?”
His first compliment from Katrina, alright. Aedus grinned at his own inner monologue. Her fur looked particularly soft. He wanted to touch her ears, but he refrained, again he didn’t want to cross some line that he didn’t know about.
‘Hmmm, is that a running theme then? Be here and wait for it to happen, feel free to react.” He shrugged. “Oh well, at least I don’t know what’s going to happen in good company. Not that I expect to bring in much candy this year but I built a pocket into my suit.” He pointed out a flap in his stomach area with a small door. He pushed it in to reveal another small box that could hold the candy for him. Aedus glanced back at the homeless man again, checking to see if the person he was talking to needed help. He should’ve been more kind to the man, He knew a homeless kid that needed help, why was the old man any different….cause he was crazy perhaps.
Aedus Nodded and began his stiff robot walk in a random direction. “ yeah, lets get started. Beep boop beep.”
