The X-men run missions and work together with the NYPD, striving to maintain a peaceful balance between humans and mutants. When it comes to a fight, they won't back down from protecting those who need their help.
Haven presents itself as a humanitarian organization for activists, leaders, and high society, yet mutants are the secret leaders working to protect and serve their kind. Behind the scenes they bring their goals into reality.
From the time when mutants became known to the world, SUPER was founded as a black-ops division of the CIA in an attempt to classify, observe, and learn more about this new and rising threat.
The Syndicate works to help bring mutantkind to the forefront of the world. They work from the shadows, a beacon of hope for mutants, but a bane to mankind. With their guiding hand, humanity will finally find extinction.
Since the existence of mutants was first revealed in the nineties, the world has become a changed place. Whether they're genetic misfits or the next stage in humanity's evolution, there's no denying their growing numbers, especially in hubs like New York City. The NYPD has a division devoted to mutant related crimes. Super-powered vigilantes help to maintain the peace. Those who style themselves as Homo Superior work to tear society apart for rebuilding in their own image.

“I will have the Greek salad.” He didn’t want to copy both of her choices, so he went with the other mouth wateringly delicious thing in the restaurant. He was happy to see the manager move on, not that it was cramping his style.
He looked to Isabel with an amused look on his face, “I’m curious why would you think that? I was born at New York Presbyterian and haven’t left the city since, I don’t know about you, but it’s weird not being surrounded by buildings. People say you can see the stars, that it’s so much more peaceful, I’m skeptical though.”
He thought briefly about the fact that if there were buildings every where it was hard to find a forest, and wondered how much his phobia contributed to the fact he didn’t really want to leave the city…how weird was he that the countryside didn’t appeal to him in the least.
"not quite. I'm more of trying to figure something out." He smiled kindly and went to the appropriate cubicle speaking quietly to her as they went.. "Come on. 501, 503, 505,507 509. Excuse me Ms. Leaner, I have a package for you, and If I could just get your signature, I will leave you to your automated SAR Assays." the woman in the cubicle scribbled a squiggle on the electronic signature keeper and then raised her eyebrows.
" You know your stuff young man," she said hitting the power on her monitor to keep him from reading any sensitive material." we have a few entry level positions opening up this week. paid internships you should apply at Faust pharmaceuticals.com if you have the skills to back up those sharp eyes." and like that she turned around dismissing him and the security guard both.
Aedus turned to Ms.Gage and raised his eyebrows at her. "I think I might just do that Ms.Gage. I've got a bit of an odd request and a question to ask you, once we have a moment of privacy." he spoke quietly again as he headed toward the elevator.
He grinned as the chorus was echoed behind him. To his surprise even after she had repeated the number she walked right by it and Ms.leaner at her desk, he paraded around the cubicles with her. He had a sneaking suspicion she was either oblivious or she couldn’t read. He nodded to the man with the very round face and round glasses that popped up out of his cubicle, reminding him very much of whack a mole. He just needed a giant foam mallet.
As they came back to the start Aedus shrugged in response to them missing it. “Well, let’s try again.” He grinned sheepishly as if embarrassed. This time Aedus took the lead; He went around nodding once more to whack a mole and stopped at an empty cubicle wondering if she would declare it as Ms.leaner’s. He paused and waited for her response curiously.
Aedus nodded his understanding. “The trick is moderation; otherwise I think Bad experiences are inevitable. Wine is sneaky too, it makes you think that you are fine until it is too late.” He then realized that it made him sound sneaky for suggesting it and attempted to recover. ” It takes more than a glass or two thought.” He looked to the Manager turned waiter. “ I’ll have a soda as well.” The manager jotted it down on the miniature pad he was holding, apparently two sodas was an effort to remember. “ Would you like some more time to decide what you’d like to eat or are you ready to order?” the manager seemed slightly more at ease now that things were traveling on paths he knew, so long as mass destruction didn’t occur randomly he would count himself lucky. “I am ready whenever the Lady is.”[/coral] Aedus replied he hadn’t yet open his menu, he already had a feeling his stomach was going to bring him here today. If wine didn’t get a chance to help him out the food certainly would.
Aedus smiled his thanks to Agnes wanting to walk him home as well, as he got a better look at her and heard that she was a compassionate soul as well she seemed to appeal to him more and more.
Aedus’s heart was breaking. This life saving mini hero didn’t have a home. He was beat up, cast out and scared. “Well Chase, we can’t have that. If you need a place to stay, I have a small, but cozy apartment up on 72nd. You’re welcome to stay with me as long as you like. If you have somewhere that you need to be, we’ll figure it out later. For now; let’s get you in out of the cold and fed.” Aedus walked over to his bike and slung it onto his shoulder.
He was going to have to deal with work and the package that wasn’t being delivered when as chance would have it, a fellow QuickTrack-er came racing around the corner. He considered it good Karma. “Freddie! Help me out and take this down to Duncan’s wares on independence. “Freddie simply held his hand out for the package snatched it out of Aedus’s hand and kept on going, as he sped by Freddie turned and shouted.”It’s where I am going anyway! You still owe me a beer!”
“Absolutely!” Aedus shouted back.
He returned to the pair now that the nagging voice of him being screwed work wise was great-fully lifted off of his shoulders. He would call and let them know he was taking the rest of the day off, as family issues had come up. He studied the young man a bit more closely now and realized that he had been on the street for awhile now. Aedus hoped that he wasn't treating the kid like a puppy he had found, but he wouldn't let him stay on the street either. he would have to talk to him about what was going on, if he had parents he needed to get back to. He could call his mom and the kid would be fussed over so thoroughly that he wouldn't have to worry about much anymore, But he wouldn't want to overwhelm him. and he wasn't even sure if he would want to stay with him.
It was while he studied her in the elevator that he recognized her, he had seen in her in the future, he was fated to watch Sesame street with this woman. Aedus now, just had to figure out why and how. There was something very appealing about something so innocent.
“Its Gaelic meaning Fire, an Irish name. My last name Teague means Poetic.”
"I haven't been here very long, but thanks. We certainly try."
“My pleasure and I can tell. Security seems a bit tighter here than elsewhere.”
"What's the name on the envelope again?"
““Mrs., No, Ms. Leaner.” Aedus scanned for the name towards his end, until running out of names he started scanning Ms. Gage’s half of the seating chart. His eyes landed on the name and he watched as the security escort’s eyes roamed right over it. He feigned like he was looking at his and then his eyes jumped toward her side. “ah ha! The purloined letter, They hid her in plain sight.” The name was close to the beginning she should have saw it almost immediately. He shrugged and then went in the arrow of the direction. ““ to cubicle five oh nine we go.” Initially he was leading the way and then a crafty idea crossed his mind, he slowed down to let her lead. Was she far sighted and didn’t want to start wearing glasses? Aedus tried to puzzle it out as they went. He watched amused as they seemed to be coming to a point they would have to navigate.
Aedus returned the smile easily to the woman across from him; she made it easy to smile back even as his body ached from the scuffle. He watched as the small boy climbed from under the car. He Gave the boy a soft hug, he didn’t want to squeeze him too much as he wasn’t sure how much damage those kids did. He couldn’t keep everyone from getting past and if he turned his back on the mob it would have meant more people beating on the both of them.
“My pleasure, you are worth protecting.” He then watched as the tender soul hugged the Cutie with the bugs. “You want me to walk you home Kiddo? I’m Aedus by the way, its good to meet you both.” Aedus asked, he would be late to his next delivery but that was already true unavoidable and unfortunate, but well worth the effort.
The man that he had left in the middle of the street was coming to his feet and belatedly running away. A dark moment flashed threw Aedus’s mind of trying to load a round before he got away, he was glad for his temper’s sake that he had already unloaded the firearm. He’d hand it over to a police station and explain the situation; if the gun was registered he’d see about pursuing charges against the man. He shoved the handgun in a pocket in his messenger bag. As Aedus stood up he glanced at his bike that was crashed into a storefront and a newspaper vending machine.
“I never said you couldn’t, I was just saying you wouldn’t have to.” “ he quipped back with a little bit of attitude, was that what she wanted, less sugar, more sour? He was failing pretty miserably, he rarely crashed and burned, but he had to take his lumps like everyone else, he wasn’t quite ready to give up on her. She was cute when she was angry. Was she angry? Maybe annoyed. hmmm. “The Pitas are really good here and the Greek salads as well, both have Lamb, beef, cheese and this creamy cucumber dressing stuff. The pitas are in a flatbread pocket.” A older male walked over to the table, “May I take your drink order?” He looked like he was probably the manager from the way he dressed, apparently the waitress didn’t want to serve them, Why the heck not he wondered idly? Ignoring the manager Aedus Inquired. “Do you drink Isabel? They have a good Red wine, even if their service is a bit off today.” He raised his eyebrow at the man at the end of the table in accusation. They normally had a friendly staff that managed a family like atmosphere. His impromptu Companion was already not fast to warm up, why the restaurant wasn’t helping at all, he did not know. Maybe the wine would lighten things up? not that he wanted her drunk either that could make things worse just as easy.
Aedus tipped the Envelope to the young woman so she didn’t have to, oh so adorably get on her tip toes. He tried to not be curious about packages, but unless it was a feather, a small silver chain necklace, a single sheet of paper, then he honestly didn’t think anything was in there, and he’d be damned if he wasn’t slightly curious about what nothing he carried over. A Frenchman entered the room explaining that things had been rough; he could see that things had been rough, real rough apparently. He nodded to the Frenchmen realizing belatedly that he was protecting the lady and that she was shaken up. “I actually live pretty close by if you guys ever want to call me after you call the police, I’ll probably get here faster. If you’re having trouble, I don’t mind lending my neighbors a hand.” He lived on 72nd, about six blocks north but on his bike he didn’t stop for any lights or traffic and it was all downhill; he’d be there before they hung up the phone. He wasn’t sure what this was about, but he wanted to be on the side that made sure people didn’t have to worry about their business being torn up by punks. If they wanted his help, it was up to them, but regardless. The fact that he was helpful not harmful was out there, maybe that would help put the cute blonde at ease. Of course he didn’t realize that normally this place was a regularly filled with several people that could easily put him in his place. "If I could just get you to sign for that, Jude.I’d appreciate it.”He held out the small electronic device that would get Jude’s signature but the Frenchman wasn’t taking the pin he was grabbing his upper arms, and then they were falling. For Aedus it was both literal and metaphorically. He fell down and forward His hand went passed Jude and landed and grabbed at Katrina’s Leg. And from there.
He was five in jeans, suspenders and a flat cap laughing hysterically on his grand pa’s knee.
He was ten running in terror from a campsite in the woods, something dark was chasing him.
He was fifteen with his arm around a girl in a stadium, they both had braces.
He was seventeen not studying with a different girl in a pink and white bedroom.
He was twenty playing soccer scoring a goal in front of a cheering crowd.
He was standing in front of a blond boy threatening a crowd of would be attackers.
He was on his knees in front of the Frenchman and the blond looking up.
He was watching sesame street with a brunette.
He was challenging a stubbly man to a foosball game.
He was giving the young blonde a sunflower, they were standing very close.
He was in a lab coat walking into Faust Pharmaceuticals.
He was bursting into flames and turning into lava for the first time.
He was made of obsidian protecting a girl with rats surrounding.
He was human again with not a hair on him nor a stitch of clothing curled up on the rug in his living room.
Aedus fell forward in a heap panting. “Holy hell! What was that!” his hand slid off Katrina’s leg landing on the splinter covered floor. He looked up to the pair above him and realized he had just glimpsed this happening. He slowly rose to his feet staring at them, “You made me see all of that, you were going to explain it to me right?” Part of him was mad that he did that without warning, part of him was exhilarated, part of him was simply terrified. Part of him, He looked at the blond confirming it was definitely her that he gave a sun flower to.
Aedus was at the very moment having a slow motion moment that even a plague of insects couldn’t distract him from at least momentarily. The man that formerly was reaching for a pistol and his back on the ground however had a full view of the swarm growing above his head. Aedus seized the moment to rise up to his knees and smack a baseball bat across the man’s head. Baseball bat beats gun? The math didn’t add up but he didn’t mind at the moment as the mutant haters head lolled to the side. He reached to the front of the man’s trousers and pulled out the hand gun and rose to his feet. He held the weapon high for everyone to see. Everyone was already running. That’s right! Wait what? He hadn’t even gotten to fire it into the sky yet. He looked over his shoulder to see who had done a better job of chasing off the mob then he did. Oh, of course a teenage girl. He had a bat in one hand and a gun in the other and still he lost the save the boy race to a teenage girl, to be fair she brought friends. More importantly though, she got the job done.
Aedus let out a huff of relief. “Thank goodness! I’m on your side by the way.” He said the last as a precaution that she might have missed him in the struggle. He resisted the urge to run like hell. Not from her, She was Pretty. Under all her minions. He looked around once more ensuring everyone Was well away from here and that no one else was causing trouble. He’d pull the unconscious man out of the road in a minute, maybe. He point the barrel of the gun upward released the cylinder, pushed it over and took out all the bullets, dropping them in his pocket. He then dropped onto his hands and knees looking under the Car. “You got a guardian angel Kid, She saved us both. Its safe to come out.” He spoke to the boy attempting to coax him out from under the vehicle. He then rested on his knees wiping the sweat from his brow. “Thanks for your help.” He spoke sincerely to the young woman above him and aside to the young man. “That’s what they should have said to you too. You were amazing. You both were. Are.” He finished enthusiastically.
“Thanks, Sue! I appreciate it.” for a spilt moment he almost asked about the boyfriend out of habit, to get the inevitable out of the way. But he stopped himself thankfully reeling in what would have been a long unnecessary conversation. A grin came easily to Aedus face as the best looking security guard he had seen, Hoped up with the quickness, momentarily he thought she was excited to be escorting him somewhere, which he wouldn’t completely rule out, but then he realized how much he liked talking with Sue and then understood all too well the spring in her step.
"You should be able to leave your bike up here, just keep it out of the way." Aedus Set down the bike at the suggested location took a moment to set the kickstand and securely so it wouldn’t fall over the moment he wasn’t looking.(It liked to do that.) And then continued into the elevator with the security guard which was otherwise empty. He was pretty sure that he had seen a movie that started like that somewhere. Handsome delivery guy, Gorgeous security guard enter an elevator, But enough of that.
With a slight emphasis on the miss. “Thanks, Miss Gage, was it? I’m Aedus.” He stepped in and stepped to the side with the buttons. “Third floor. Going Up.” He smushed the large 3 button. His finger then slyly slide over and pushed the door close button as he saw someone rushing toward the open elevator doors. He studied her face as the elevator doors closed, He wasn’t the type to turn away and ignore a follow elevator occupant, and He was the type that wouldn’t let a comfortable silence linger too long, particularly when opportunity was at hand. “So, I haven’t heard any wild rumors about Faust Pharmaceuticals since it changed names,King Pharm seemed like it was always having a riot or something. You must be doing a good job.”
Shocked but blushing, good, but not giggling either. She was not easily swayed by any means. Aedus matched Isabel’s gait. “I prefer autumn myself, the colors of the leaves alone are great, it gives the city a much needed make over. I guess the city is simply improved with a cool breeze. Hmmm, well if I catch any paparazzi following you I’ll send them on their way, if you like.” Perhaps it was due to the large bow on her head that she seemed like a present, and it was lending her overly cautious demeanor some forgiveness. She reminded him of a cat, He wasn’t showing proper deference and for that she might brandish her claws.
The pair came to the entryway of ‘It’s Greek to me’ and Aedus quickly opened the door for his companion. The host almost immediately looked nervous at the woman arrival, was he breaking into a sweat? Hmmm. “We’ll take a booth, just the two of us.” Aedus said with a bit more authority then required. He didn’t care for the peculiar look he was giving to Isabel. But then she had been giving him odd looks since he kissed her hand.
“r-r-r-right this way p-p-please.” The host stuttered and walked toward a booth away from the rest of the costumers, it Was dimly lit in the corner. “ A-A-A waitress will be right back to t-t-take your order.”He nearly ran away.
His hand latched onto the back of a Yellowcab van and he was sailing down Linden Boulevard effortlessly, so many people thought that bike messengers were crazy for doing what they did simply for the fact that they dived in to traffic where others just tried to stay out of the way. But for him, it was kind of like being a dolphin or a shark, yeah a shark. You dived in and owned the flow of things.
You went where you wanted to when you wanted to regardless of traffic lights or signs. It was a never-ending flow of getting where you wanted to be as fast as you could regardless of obstacles. He let go of the van as he entered into the fountain area of Faust Pharm. His bike zipped through the well spaced out trees and he rode all the way to the front door, hopping off and tossing his bike onto his shoulder in one fluid motion. His other arm was busy slinging his bag around to grab the pair of small boxes being delivered today.
He entered into the lobby and was greeted by a welcome sight, gorgeous security guard and less of a wonderful sight was needy secretary lady, she had a boyfriend she always wanted a man’s opinion on, and while he was happy to give his opinion, he didn’t love the eighty follow up questions. Aedus had his typical QuickTrack uniform on, a Yellow Polo and khaki cargos. Aedus wiggled the fingers of the hand holding the bike up on his shoulder, waving to the pair. They had pretty good security so he wasn’t sure what she wanted him to do next, they changed it up from what he saw, which is what made it good in his opinion. It was harder to plan for something if you didn’t know what was next. .
“I’ve got a couple of rush delivers for an Mr.Shinders and a Ms.leaner. Anyone can sign for Mr.Shinders, but I am supposed to get Ms.leaner’s signature, if that’s possible. ” Sometimes it wasn’t, people were trying to work so he understood if he had to wait, though today looked like it would be a bit easier to do. Aedus smiled at the ladies in front of him.
Aedus noticed the young woman bending over and couldn’t help but to look her over, she was a pretty little blonde, if a bit on the young side. Aedus slipped the envelop to one side and pinned it to his side with his elbow, he shifted his bike to the side stepped back and then let the bike drop down and rest half way on the steps. “Let me get that Miss.” He flashed a perfect smile at her, it ought to be perfect for the amount of dental work it cost him, sports had been cruel to a smile that he cherished growing up, and dentistry had returned it to its former glory, it had been a long time since his smile was anything but picture perfect. Aedus started to gather the wood up that the young woman had dropped, he picked up the smaller pieces first. “ I didn’t mean to startle you. I’m actually here to make a delivery to…. ahhhh Jude. I’m afraid that I didn’t get a last name.” He propped the last of the bits of wood into the pile and lifted them. He looked to the young woman, to direct him where to deposit the pile. He dumped the wood into a large trash can after he realized where she was taking it. He then presented the envelope and what little information it had on the envelope. “I’m Aedus Teauge, I’m with QuickTrack.” He pointed to the little logo on his yellow polo and took a step back. He said the last because for a moment she honestly looked scared, maybe that had to do with whatever happened here. Aedus Glanced toward the door as he heard another voice with an accent that was probably…European?
