The X-men run missions and work together with the NYPD, striving to maintain a peaceful balance between humans and mutants. When it comes to a fight, they won't back down from protecting those who need their help.
Haven presents itself as a humanitarian organization for activists, leaders, and high society, yet mutants are the secret leaders working to protect and serve their kind. Behind the scenes they bring their goals into reality.
From the time when mutants became known to the world, SUPER was founded as a black-ops division of the CIA in an attempt to classify, observe, and learn more about this new and rising threat.
The Syndicate works to help bring mutantkind to the forefront of the world. They work from the shadows, a beacon of hope for mutants, but a bane to mankind. With their guiding hand, humanity will finally find extinction.
Since the existence of mutants was first revealed in the nineties, the world has become a changed place. Whether they're genetic misfits or the next stage in humanity's evolution, there's no denying their growing numbers, especially in hubs like New York City. The NYPD has a division devoted to mutant related crimes. Super-powered vigilantes help to maintain the peace. Those who style themselves as Homo Superior work to tear society apart for rebuilding in their own image.

“I’ll do what I can to make that happen.” He would have to figure out a way to do it right, ensure that she wouldn’t be hurt on the way out…or get others hurt on the way in, not to mention protecting her from whatever the hell was going on out there.
He listened to and felt the emotional tide that he was pulling the woman back and forth on. “That apartment must have come with a hell of a reason.” He needed to get off of that subject it couldn’t be easy to dwell on your home covered in blood, Losing your husband and your son. It seemed the woman was grateful to take what she comfort could. She had two lives much less capable to look out for inside her. “I’ll do my best to find him. I’d imagine that it won’t be an easy task, but if it is as you say then he will be relieved to hear you are alright.”
Aedus was still careful to speak in the softest of tones; It certainly beat the heck out of trying to say things in a lyrical form that made any sort of sense.
Now why the heck was Ms. Faust Holding her here? It didn’t add up. Then again Ghost might be in denial about everything. He was going to be playing a dangerous game trying to figure it out.
The battlefront was white so far, the troops on both sides were gathering ammo hectically. Either side might decide at any moment that they had enough ammo and that the element of surprise was worth more.
It had started out innocently enough. One snow fort, then two.
Aedus would do it, if he had to. If the man pressed the blade foreword meaning to stab him the blade would meet a body of lava, melting the blade and possibly catching this old building on fire. Hopefully they had a good sprinkler system.
~~"Nazis, my dear boy, are entirely too easy find."
“I disagree; you can’t throw a rock in this city without finding one of us. Have you seen the gun to person ratio of this city? Mutants aside, you are lucky humans haven’t filled you with lead. My reasoning you should be well acquainted with, He who fights with monsters should look to it that he himself does not become a monster. To sit and watch, or encourage would be monstrous.” A glare shot at the man passing the good doctor notes and his odd pleasant nature. “And doctor, do remember, when you gaze long into an abyss the abyss also gazes into you.” Dr. Black wasn’t the first man to read Nietzsche, He wouldn’t be the last.
A simple nod to what the other man in the congregation had said.
His teeth grit together as he heard Emily’s voice call out, all the more reason to stand between them and tentacles here. Was he the only one angered by this? The others were calling out reason to the man. He attempted to take them hostage. Reason was on vacation. Couldn’t they see the sword in his face? He had one trick, mutation was and it was kind of all or nothing. If he was going to do it he was more than prepared to take it to the end, if the good doctor wanted to meet oblivion so bad, then he could introduce them easily. He would just stop resisting the heat.
Aedus clapped his hands ”well played, I’m for it, those two are easy going enough, We don’t get rough around here unless someone insists, Friday and Saturday round closing time might be a different story, but most everybody here is good people.”
He grinned black on black. “No, the new bloke that hits on Maggie gets the firing squad, because she wants to watch him squirm. First rule of a pub you frequent, keep your waitress happy, she asks you to bug the new guy, and you bug the new guy. She’s the owners daughter.” He laughed.
Aedus smashed a few fries, Flavors didn’t seem to be as bold on his tongue. Odd thing that. Smitty and O’leary were setting up things on their end. “Hey boys, You can eat those spuds as long as you like, I’m not going anywhere.” O’Leary mocked them for taking them up on not letting their food go to waste. Aedus shook his head and ate a fry in slow motion.
Aedus wrapped an arm around her ensuring not to squeeze her too tightly, It wouldn’t due to suffocate her against his chest. He wasn’t sure of the sudden affection, She seemed to have enjoyed dancing with that night awhile back, but he still didn’t get why she would have left with that Jerk…He was being too harsh, she lived with the man of course she would need to go back for her things or try to patch up the situation but still…She never returned his shirt or gave him a call to meet up later either. Still, she obviously missed him.
He wouldn’t argue, He wasn’t sure why she was acting that way, but if she wanted to insist that he was Heroic He supposed it wouldn’t hurt to let her, She seemed to have some sort of motive and she wanted it to be true. Was she a crazy Person?
“It's good to see you Lydia, and Emily I am so very relieved you are alright. I’m up for grabbing a bite to eat.” He looked to Lydia, to see what her response would be, she looked a bit distraught originally and perhaps relieved to see someone she recognized.
“What are you ladies in the mood for?” They didn’t really match in attire what so ever, Emily was dressed for theatre, Lydia was Dressed for a day out of shopping perhaps? And he was dressed for exercise.
He was going to kill the twins, they had better hope that his brother hid them from him well. hopefully Shamus had them doing something hard..Maybe they would get put on ice cream duty. between the two of them making the homemade ice cream would be a pretty rough punishment...It wasn't likely that they would be the only ones being taught that lesson though, he had faith in the old man that he would put them to work. He knew from experience, that Shamus could be a harsh master.
Aedus leaned up against the wall; next to him were five women of different ages. All of them but an older blonde looked like they were of the Teague line. But the fact that they were all family was obvious. “These lovely ladies were sent by Shamus to help, if you’ll let them.”Aedus spoke to the disheveled and disheartened Noel, among them was Coleen.
The young woman wiggled her finger at Noel’s clothes. Where the clothes were stained, the color matched the original shade of the clothing. “Don’t worry you won’t turn bright green, cloth is what I trained on to get my powers under control, though Freckles are still troublesome.’ The girl waved and ran. Apparently she had done her part. The other four patiently waited permission before the assisted the woman. Two were later twenties and the blonde looked to be early fifties, late forties. And the last looked to be twelve, if that.
“ I don’t know that I will become a dedicated student, that always wears a sword on their belt, but when certain opportunities present themselves, It would be foolish to pass them up, for instance, how often might one come across a true master of the sword willing to teach you anything? In other words, to get a better understanding of something from someone with a vast amount of experience.”
Meanwhile, I want to get closer to you, figure you out, take your measure, and pass along a message from a wife hidden in captivity underground…for her own good? Ask you about what the hell happened in your apartment or not…decide if any of it is true about you.
He looked to Noel; she was resplendent in the simple joy of Chili, cooked food! Did he need to get her away from here; did she know he was a dead beat dad? Did he? There was too much to be answered.
“Well I’m glad she can handle herself then. Doesn’t seem like she is the go toward safety type. She might have I can fix him syndrome? If I see her again, I’ll let her know you said hi. She’s got my number and my shirt. That ass left her outside without a coat.” He paused momentarily. “ if you wanted me to pass on an email or a number or something, I could I am right there with ya. But I guess you can only protect someone to the point they will let you.”
Aedus caught the direction of Jules line of sight and studied the group for a moment…didn’t seem too suspicious to him, but they were a ways off. He kept pace with the man next to him.
Did it make them the good guys because they were looking to find trouble in bad guys? I mean they were looking for a fight, his Da used to say, you’ll always find a fight when you go looking for one. Oddly enough it never discouraged Aedus, the lesson was to not look for trouble, but Aedus only saw that persistence would get you what you wanted.
Hello bookworm. There was something fantastically amazing about a woman who reads in public. It was like an advertisement, I’m out of the house, because I want to be out of the house…but the best thing I have to do is read in a bookstore. I would rather be talking to you Aedus Teague. She was wearing a just above the knees sweater dress leggings boots, she wore her hair up in a no nonsense ponytail, a couple strands dark curly strands had escaped. Cute! Every so often she would push the glasses up her nose only to keep reading and have to move them back up her nose as they eventually slide down to an unacceptable point once more.
He browsed the electronic readers, he looked over the fantasy novels, hey George finally got around to writing his latest murder your favorite character novels. Good stuff. He moved to the mythology section, someone had called him by a Mayan or Aztec name recently and he was curious to see if he could figure out who exactly he looked like when he was in stone mode. No he wasn’t steadily making his way closer toward the girl with the ‘girl with a dragon tattoo novel.’ He set the George R.R. Martin novel between them and started looking through his mythology book. Skimming for itzul something something something something.
He covertly watched the fox out of the corner of his eye…and noticed that she was covertly watching someone her eyes were pointed toward the counter but her head pretended to read the book. Aedus went back to reading and then looked up at the counter…hmm she was waiting for coffee?
((I.C. Um, yeah this thread might need to wait on the other just to ensure what mode Aedus is in. I am hoping to avoid going lava mode. at the very least there will be some history between the two.))
Aedus was jogging again, he decided against the same ware house area as he jogged last time, the path would bring him across the alleyways that he met Blood in, He saved him from some mobsters and while he wasn’t obsidian at the moment he still wasn’t taking chances on someone deciding he looked close enough and had an itchy trigger finger, he still however was up for running random security and preventing someone from becoming a victim.
Aedus turned a corner and was keeping a pretty good pace when he heard gunshots, he spun and hit the ground. Just thinking about mobsters had him taking evasive actions quickly. He dove behind a truck and kept close to a tire until he realized it was coming from further in…
He caught his breath from the initial shock and concentrated on figuring out where exactly it was coming from and what its target was. He spot a women run out of a door one building down. Was she the prey or the hunter…she had a camera in her hands not a gun. Someone didn’t like her taking pictures. Aedus took off towards the building next to hers and then ran along the wall of the warehouses toward the door that she just exited.
“My genes were dormant, it just took waking them up I suppose, they were not active when we first met and well, now they are…It uh takes some getting used to… So, Chase he’s ok right?” Wow…that stung a little to see the panic that just went all over a friends face at seeing him. But then he did have lava for eyes. He would give her some leeway; it wasn’t like she took off or anything.
Aedus waved the young woman in. And looked at her with apt interest he would have to guide her to spilling what he needed to know. Where she stood, he didn’t think she would be helping the parents find him, not if they were bad to him. if they honestly wanted to help him they’d have to prove it long before he let it go. Agnes held his rapt attention.
