The X-men run missions and work together with the NYPD, striving to maintain a peaceful balance between humans and mutants. When it comes to a fight, they won't back down from protecting those who need their help.
Haven presents itself as a humanitarian organization for activists, leaders, and high society, yet mutants are the secret leaders working to protect and serve their kind. Behind the scenes they bring their goals into reality.
From the time when mutants became known to the world, SUPER was founded as a black-ops division of the CIA in an attempt to classify, observe, and learn more about this new and rising threat.
The Syndicate works to help bring mutantkind to the forefront of the world. They work from the shadows, a beacon of hope for mutants, but a bane to mankind. With their guiding hand, humanity will finally find extinction.
Since the existence of mutants was first revealed in the nineties, the world has become a changed place. Whether they're genetic misfits or the next stage in humanity's evolution, there's no denying their growing numbers, especially in hubs like New York City. The NYPD has a division devoted to mutant related crimes. Super-powered vigilantes help to maintain the peace. Those who style themselves as Homo Superior work to tear society apart for rebuilding in their own image.

Aedus had promised his mother that if he wasn't going to attend the catholic church with his family then he would in fact attend some sort of religious gathering, sometime, somewhere...the fact that he had picked up a flyer announcing the eloquent Dr.Black would be speaking on Nihilism at this location would have to be looked at an oversight his mother really should have insisted on. He was pretty sure that his mother would look at nihilism as a step further away from faith then his current atheism. after all, atheism professed that there is no god...Nihilism seems to conclude that everything is nothing.
Aedus was infinitely amused by the fact. He listened to the odd man speak on the finer points of the flaw in modern thought. He then tilted his head in amusement at the thought that a few locks might hold them in... these doors were not made to stand up to lava. He didn't know a door that was.
Aedus wasn't completely sure of whether or not the man was looking for Nazi's or if he was looking for superhumans...either way it was a good chance to get to the front, between Mr.tentacles and the sheep...sheep needed a Shepard. Damn it. This would solidify Mom's I told you so.
Aedus stood up and walked to the front of the sanctuary and sat on the first pew. Where the oddly shaped Mr.Black, seemed to have been made to offend the eye. Aedus was made to please. The short, balding man at the podium would easily be cast as the villain if this were a movie. Aedus's jawline alone proclaimed him the hero....Man, he needed to get his ego in check.
As Aedus sat on the front row he lifted his voice to a volume that Black would be able to hear. "I'm assuming that you are not in fact looking for Nazi's."
“Left.” Aedus answered on a whim. Their crime fighting seemed to come on a whim and so would the direction of justice as well.
Aedus put his hands in his slack pockets; He looked down alleyways as they went, waiting to find their first bust. Come forth scum, your end approaches. He couldn’t seem to get the cheesy hero lines to stop running through his head. He might have to rattle one or two of for the hell of it. Could he resist throwing a ‘stop evil doer’ out there? He highly doubted it.
Jules seemed to have gotten into a darker mood after he heard about Lydia he wondered if she were an ex or something. “ So, how do you know Lydia?”
Aedus stretched a little and for a moment was puzzled as to why exactly his cousin Killian was cozied up to him, it wasn’t bad per se, just not quite like him to be so cuddly. As his brain woke up a little more he realized the days events. And how chase had come to him. He then recognized what was waking him up in the first place.
Aedus scooted out from under Chases head and settled it gently down on the pillow, and then he heard what Agnes was saying, she had to talk to him about Chase. He tapped the boy a few times on the shoulder and went to the door. It was Agnes so he wasn’t too worried about his parents being a step behind, but just in case he wanted the young man awake.
“Hey Agnes! I’m Home.,” He spoke a little bit too loudly. “I look quite a bit different then when you saw me last. Just a heads up before I open the door.” Aedus unlocked and swung the door open with a flourish. The obsidian form before her looked as if a master sculpture had taken the man and put his features flawlessly in obsidian and then there were his lava pool eyes.
“Hey, what’s going on?” Aedus felt bad about it but he was going to play dumb for both their benefit. If Agnes didn’t suspect, that Chase was in the room she would speak more freely to them both, if the boy had a reason he should go home she might say it, and if she had intentions to turn him over to the parents she might spill that as well. If she was in fact looking out for him too, then he would apologize later.
Aedus only grinned in response. With the advantage of knowing you were looking for a fight well in hand, it was after that a matter of knowing what you were going to do, it was the same as chess you could plan moves ahead of time, if you already thought of how to open and work through the rest of a fight, then the need to wonder what exactly was going on during the fight was greatly lessened. That was of course until they threw you a curve and did something unexpected.
As for Aedus’s view on humans or mutants and crime, it was all a matter of who the aggressor in the crime was. He was part of one of the largest known family’s of mutants in the world. His genes were the first in six generations to not have kick started on their own. That wasn’t to say he came from a family of super powers, no they were a family of mildly powered mutants, the things they could do were typically useful, when applied logically, dangerous no, but if you were clever. Than just about any mutation can be made to turn a profit. When strictly managed by other members of the family, a large amount of underpowered mutants could turn into a force that defies physics one step at a time.
So while Aedus was certainly inclined toward a sympathetic ear towards mutants. He wouldn’t stand for them picking on humans without reason either.
Aedus nodded to David and his submission to simply play the game. “ That’s the spirit.” He mocked lightly. Aedus threw back his head and laughed. "Oh I am being dragged into this am I now. He spotted the pair that was challenging them. “If they want trouble on the Dart board they got it.”
“You two are going down!” Aedus Hollered across the room. And Smitty made a rude gesture with a grin on his face. Nothing like being flipped off in good fun to sounds the drums of war.
“Hey Smitty! What’s this?” Aedus wiggled all the fingers on one hand at the man, and Smitty played along calling out. “what?” “ A whole flock of these!” Aedus returned the middle finger that he had just been shown.
Aedus stuffed his mouth with a few more fries. Most likely the old codgers would wipe the floor with them, so he was getting his licks in where he could.
“My thoughts exactly.” Aedus normally had no problem with the drink but drinking when you were already in the mode for a fight was like evening the odds for whoever you were going up against. Not that a bar room brawl wasn’t a good night, but if you were looking to take out frustrations it just didn’t add up to get rid of some balance and decision making capabilities.
Besides they were in his neighborhood now. It wouldn't be a bad idea at all to clean up some of the trash around here. there was always someone trying to mug, or sell drugs around.
“Absolutely.” Hopefully they were of the same mind that they were going for those trying to cause trouble and not just the next random pair of guys they saw. Aedus rolled his shoulders and grinned. Ah, purposefully looking for trouble, it had been awhile.
Hey! Aedus is up for something if Lumen is. I was thinking that perhaps Lumen could be on a stake out and her cover gets blown, someone comes after her and Aedus helps. As of right now he would be rather Human, though depending on the trouble that she was in he might go mutant mode for her.
