But if you must know, I am a Special Agent 2nd class FBI.”
History Of Your CharacterBelow is the story of Agent Miriam Castle. There are statements from the people who know her best spread throughout.
Miriam Louis Castle was born at 4:07 in the morning on the 18th of March, 1982. She is the second child in her family and has a brother that is 3 years older than her.
Francesca Castle (Miri’s mother) – “Miriam wasn’t a difficult child really. She was smaht and free spirited. And with that came certain… oh forget it she was difficult and stubborn and contrary and she always thawght she was right. She wasn’t much different then she is now. Just smawla.”
When Miri was 5 her baby brother was born and despite this set back she was still her daddy’s little angel even if she wasn’t the baby anymore. Miri’s biggest hero growing up was her dad. He was a New York police officer and had been working on the force her whole life. He was also a great father and family man to boot, a genuinely good guy. She may have been as stubborn as a mule and pig headed but that man was wrapped around her figure. Whenever mom said no she would just go to dad and he would say yes and because of this she generally got her way. Miri worked her entire life to make him as proud as possible. Making sure to have straight A’s in school and be at the top of her class. Miri won awards in anything and everything she could. Taking first in quite a few karate tournaments growing up. She was happy and had a great and normal life.
Richard Castle (was recorded before his death) – “I’m proud of my dawghta. She works so hard and proves to me every day that she is extraordinary. I know she’s gonna do great things.”
When Miri was 13 her father was killed protecting a woman and her baby. The woman was a mutant and well the infant was too young to tell. She was cornered in her apartment by some neighbors who didn’t want a mutant in their building. One of them had a gun. Miri’s dad got shot in the struggle. He later died at the hospital from blood lose. For Miri this was a turning point in her life. Miri had always known she wanted to be like her dad but that was when she decided she wanted to do what her dad did. She wanted to work stopping criminals and helping mutants. Her dad always used to say, “Gawd wouldn’t have made mutants if he didn’t want ‘em. They didn’t choose to be like that, how can we blame ‘em for that? How can we condemn ‘em for a few bad apples who give into temptation?” Words Miri would live her life by, not just with mutants but with everyone. She took everything her father said to heart and tries her best to live like him.
Luke Castle (Miri’s older brother) – “I got the talent but she got the brains. My sis can talk her way out of anything and there are things that she gets in seconds that are like reading a foreign language to me.”
Being the great over achiever that she was, Miri graduated Valedictorian from her high school and went to Brown in the fall of 2000. She was a duel major in Criminology and Psychology. She graduated Summa Cum Laude with two bachelor’s degrees and moved back to New York City to do her masters in Forensic Psychology at NYU.
Juliet Castle (Miri’s Wife) – "I know I would not be where I am in my life if we had never met. I will never regret the time we spent together.”
In the summer of 2003 Miri’s brother was working as a photographer in New York City and at the time he occasionally used his sister to help him out on a shoot when she wasn’t working in their family restaurant. One such day was July 16th. Miri had actually almost not gone to help that day but she said that something told her she should even if she didn’t want to, and it wasn’t just because her brother had asked her too. It was on this day that Miri met the woman she would call the love her of life.
It had been well established that Miri was gay since high school but she had never been very open about it. She rarely went out and chose to focus more on her studies and academic life. She tended towards meeting girls at parties and having one night stands instead of going out and forming relationships. So, when Miri asked her brother’s model, Juliet Clark, out on a date during the conversation after the shoot was over it was obvious that she really liked this girl.
They went out three times that following week and 15 times over the course of 2 months. They started living together after 2 years of dating and got married after 5, once it was legal in Connecticut. They had to go up to Connecticut to have the ceremony and were wed at Juliet’s Parents home.
The two were separated as of a year and a half ago.
Miri – “Why did I join the FBI? Well I guess the simplest of answers is I didn’t want to be a cop. My dad was one and I didn’t want to only be Rick Castle’s daughter. I wanted to make my own name. So, when the FBI came calling I answered.”
Miri was recruited into the FBI in the last semester at NYU. They took an interest in her particular skill set and didn’t hesitate to call her. This was perfect for the native New Yorker. She had lived her entire life wanting to work in law enforcement and was dreading having to look for a job in the city her father had touched so much when she was a child. Richard Castle had done a lot for the safety of the city in his 20 years on the force and she didn’t want to live in his shadow for the rest of her life, always having to live up to him and his achievements was not something she was okay with.
Miri went to Quantico strait after graduation and was a model recruit and student. In her five months there she set a firearms record and graduated at the top of her class.
Miri was put into the New York office and set up with a partner for her first case right out of the gate. The case was to infiltrate and gain information on a mutant terrorist group working in New York City. Her partner was go pose as a new recruit and work his way into the inner circle and Miri was to provide support from the outside. The infiltration took 6 months and by the end of it Miri had lost her partner and failed her first case. Her partner had been taken in by the Homo-Superior propaganda he had to live around and embrace and was lost to the group. Miri left the entire situation jaded and with a hatred of separating of mutants and humans with groups and factions.
After that, Miri transferred over to the mob task force, where she works to this day, and swore to never lose herself to the job like her partner had so long ago.
Today, Miri still lives in the apartment her and Juliet bought in the financial district of New York. Miri still works as an FBI agent and is in the prosses of switching departments after a year long stint undercover.
RoleplayWhere did you learn about this site?: I have it pumped into my blood stream via IV. It has gotten to a point where I can’t survive without it.
Do you have any other characters on MRO, if so who: Yes; Katherine Elizabeth Stanly Finch-Hatton
Sample RP:Miri stared at the woman sleeping on her shoulder and memorized the moment around her. It was only a matter of time before she had to go back to New Jersey and back to the life she lived. The life she had chosen to live all those years ago without knowing that it would be like this. That she would have to spend months away from the woman she loved; agonizing months of emotional anguish and lonely nights.
Miri let her book flop down in her lap and turned to kill the blond lighting on the lips. Jules didn’t open her tired eyes as she returned the kiss and they took their time coming up for air.
“I missed you too.” Juliet looked at Miri through tired eyes and smiled weakly at the tall brunette.
Miri put her book aside and shifted in the bed so she was facing her wife,
“I’m going to quit. This is going to be my last case.”“What?! But you love your job. I can’t let you do that because you miss me. It’s not fair to you and it’s not fair to the world.” Jules took Miri’s hands to look into her eyes with determination.
“I’m not going to quit all together. I can’t bring myself to do that. I just can’t do all this time undercover anymore. This is the first time I have seem you in 7 months. I want a nine to five where I get to come home at sleep with my wife every night. I want to spend Christmas with my family, not with the Figliano’s who I have been stalking for the past year so I can put the big bad in jail. This is the longest assignment that I have ever had and I’m starting to realize that I need a change.”“You would really give up all the excitement for me?”
“In a heartbeat.”“I love that idea.” Jules didn’t even hesitate to show just how much she loved that idea and pulled Miri into another long kiss.
