The X-men run missions and work together with the NYPD, striving to maintain a peaceful balance between humans and mutants. When it comes to a fight, they won't back down from protecting those who need their help.
Haven presents itself as a humanitarian organization for activists, leaders, and high society, yet mutants are the secret leaders working to protect and serve their kind. Behind the scenes they bring their goals into reality.
From the time when mutants became known to the world, SUPER was founded as a black-ops division of the CIA in an attempt to classify, observe, and learn more about this new and rising threat.
The Syndicate works to help bring mutantkind to the forefront of the world. They work from the shadows, a beacon of hope for mutants, but a bane to mankind. With their guiding hand, humanity will finally find extinction.
Since the existence of mutants was first revealed in the nineties, the world has become a changed place. Whether they're genetic misfits or the next stage in humanity's evolution, there's no denying their growing numbers, especially in hubs like New York City. The NYPD has a division devoted to mutant related crimes. Super-powered vigilantes help to maintain the peace. Those who style themselves as Homo Superior work to tear society apart for rebuilding in their own image.

Aura had not slept in a few day's she simply could not. SHe would lay down and sleep simply failed to come. Her thoughts were distracting but they had never quite kept her up this much. So she sat in the Sanctuary's recreation room flipping through TV channels, which failed to turn anything to interest her. Not for the first time she wonderd when the last time she had been in the room was, and could not clearly recall, she was simply to busy with training to pay it much mind.
Aura was startled and her Aura quickly formed a dagger in each hand, however she breathed a sigh of relief when she realized it was just her cat, or skunk, though Aura still had no idea how to tell the two apart, other then cats seemed more colorful. The Skunk took no notice of her reaction and simply leapt up onto the couch beside her, qhich aura scratched her behind the ear. "You need to find a way to warn me" she said shaking her head, sending her rather unkempt hair sweeping her back.
"Maybe i should go and start a fight" she said aloud more to the skunk then anyone else who might have been close. Sitting thare she watched her hand a sher aura flowed into a drill shape, then without stopping it's spin it turned into a buzz saw and then a sword and then an axe. The exercise usually calmed her down, but that was not the case today. With a primal scream, she drove the axe deep into the couch she was sitting, the blade went through stuffing and wood as if it had never been their at all.

Deirdra had been lying in bed, sleeping for a few hours, when she sat straight up. Something inside her was letting her know she was done sleeping. She really wasn’t tired all of a sudden and so she uncovered herself and put her feet lightly on the floor. After a small stretch, the blond stood up and put on a pair of slippers. She ran her fingers through her golden hair and then made her way to her door. The woman opened it quietly and snuck out into the hallway. She wasn’t really sure where she wanted to go. Maybe to the recreation room and watch some TV? Yeah, that sounded like a good idea.
Somewhat quietly, Deirdra walked toward the Sanctuary’s recreation room. She had been in there a few times and knew exactly where she was going. The blond was wearing a large gray t-shirt that came to about half-way down her thighs. If she bent over, her underwear would probably show, but she wasn’t too worried about it. She had really great self-confidence, if someone wanted to refer to it as that.
The woman walked into the recreation room to see another young lady there watching the TV already. Or, more like she had been watching TV until something had made her angry. She let out a scream and put a pinkish blade into the couch. Deirdra’s eyes widened slightly in surprise and then she smirked. “Well, hello there. That’s an impressive power you have. Not only that, you’re quite beautiful. “The blond walked over and sat on the other side of the blade. “It’s nice to meet you. I’m Deirdra Sykes. I’m a scorpion mutant. Who, may I ask, are you?”
"Why thank you" Aura said a bit taken aback by the compliment. It was unusual for her to get such a compliment, more so when not prompted by her own. She considered her follow mutant carefully as she sat down. "I am Aura" she said lifting the arm she had made the blade on, the blade melted back into her over all Aura. "My power" she said lifting her hand whare she had the blade a few moments earlior, she formed an axe, and then a drill which began to spin before melting back into her aura and forming an Ice cream scoop.
"It is nice to meet you, i do apologize for my outburst, it's been a stressful few months" she said scratching the back of the skunks head. She had never met this mutaant before but the term scorpion mutant made her very curious, untill she realized one glareing fact. "What's a scorpion?" she asked blinking. The word she had heard before and she was pretty sure it was an animal but as for what kind, that was another story all together.
"i have been trying not to hunt down humans, but not killing the filthy animals is hard and it takes away a good stress reliever" she said honestly. The Pink outline around her body thickened a bit before thinking out to a fain outline around her body and then slowly began to fade entirely from view, dissopearing from the tips of her fingers last. SHe looked down at the hole she had made a bit ashamed of the outbursts damage now that she looked at it.

Deirdra waved her hand as if to wave away her apology. “Oh, it’s no big deal. Don’t worry about it. I know how life can get stressful.” In her mind she added, But, I don’t take it out on furniture. Better the couch than me, I suppose. The girl showed her hand and turned it into different weapons. “It’s pink.” She smiled at the feminine color. Hey, just because someone had a temper didn’t mean they couldn’t be girly. This Aura person was the perfect example. The blond wondered what her real name might be, but figured there was a good reason she didn’t give it.
The woman ran her hand through her blond hair again and grinned. “When I start getting noticed more as a mutant, I’m going to go by Scorpia. Right now though, I haven’t been on enough missions to be recognized as a threat.” She brought a hand to her face and tapped one of her fingers against her lips in thought.
Aura asked what a scorpion was and the blond grinned. “Well, they’re an animal with 8 legs, a tail, and a stinger, and usually have pincers. I don’t have pincers, but the rest, I can have.” Deirdra stood up and took a few steps away from the couch. With a smirk, her lower body shifted into a giant, black body with 8 scorpion legs, complete with a tail and stinger. “Also, my tail holds toxins that can kill a person with three stings. If I don’t sting them that many times though, I just paralyze them for a short amount of time.”
Deirdra looked curiously at the woman and thought about how she referred to humans. “You aren’t a human fan either, I see. I don’t blame you. I hate them too, though I’ve never killed one. I can’t bring myself to do it, for some reason. I think once I have, it’ll be easier to do. I watched Meld kill some police once. She didn’t even blink or think twice.” The woman shook her head with admiration. “She’s quite a mutant. I bet you’ve met her. She seems like someone you would get along with.” She gave Aura a friendly smile.
