The X-men run missions and work together with the NYPD, striving to maintain a peaceful balance between humans and mutants. When it comes to a fight, they won't back down from protecting those who need their help.
Haven presents itself as a humanitarian organization for activists, leaders, and high society, yet mutants are the secret leaders working to protect and serve their kind. Behind the scenes they bring their goals into reality.
From the time when mutants became known to the world, SUPER was founded as a black-ops division of the CIA in an attempt to classify, observe, and learn more about this new and rising threat.
The Syndicate works to help bring mutantkind to the forefront of the world. They work from the shadows, a beacon of hope for mutants, but a bane to mankind. With their guiding hand, humanity will finally find extinction.
Since the existence of mutants was first revealed in the nineties, the world has become a changed place. Whether they're genetic misfits or the next stage in humanity's evolution, there's no denying their growing numbers, especially in hubs like New York City. The NYPD has a division devoted to mutant related crimes. Super-powered vigilantes help to maintain the peace. Those who style themselves as Homo Superior work to tear society apart for rebuilding in their own image.

He blinked a few times as the man ruffled Juniper's hair. Was that right? Juniper didn't like people touching her. They were really close, then! Why didn't she talk about him at all. His head tilted a little bit when he said he'd practically raised her.
Was... Was that right?
He nodded a little bit as he cleared them from the street. "Oh, right, wouldn't want to get in the way!" It was only polite, after all. Boy, was this alley dark.
"Oh, Where? I have tried to eat at all of the places around here! I love to try new things, though~" He smiled brightly, almost enough to lighten up the alley. He paused again. Wait. they were talking about something, weren't they?
Oh, she had a hard time making friends? "Really? She's made plenty since she got here, though! She'd a great friend, after all!" Her uncle would be proud that she'd grown in that regard, right?
"I do, though! Juni's awesome... Hey, about that collar, though... Why..."
Xavier sure was having a good time thinking about how nice this guy seemed! He just... radiated friendliness. His eyes caught the glint of metal. Was that? Keith tugged her hoodie up. That was a little strange, right?
He was distracted by the man's words. "Oh, thanks." He felt... a little strange, right? Like, things were odd, right? It was like, he'd seen something that would make him very alert, but the alert side of him felt like it was running through molasses, while the part that was simply enraptured by UNCLE Keith was in tip top shape!
"Oh! She never mentioned you! Nice to meet you, Keith!" He mentioned them being more than neighbors. "Oh, yeah, I'd gladly say Juni is my best friend! I've known her since I first got to the city..."
His brow furrowed a bit as he found his eyes landing on her covered neck. What was it... oh, right... that thing... "H-hey Juni... What's with the collar?" He'd seen those before. When they rescued those people... Why would she be wearing one?
Xavier froze in place when Eoin started listing a bunch of things he couldn't eat, and the list of meals he knew how to prepare was narrowed down to... fresh air? He kept the smile on his face through the nearing panic, when the Irish man suddenly laughed, and he breathed a sigh of relief.
"Oh, hah! You got me. That's funny!" He chuckled as he turned to the fridge and grabbed a fairly large container quickly, hurrying to the counter to cut something real quick. "Oh, this? It's a- It's a little- One sec. Here!" He turned and quickly deposited freshly sliced fatty tuna in front of Megan, grinning widely.
He'd prepared for this. She'd thrown up twice, after being too polite to tell him she couldn't eat what he cooked, or anything cooked at all in the past. Looking at her, you wouldn't take her for the type, but he knew that she was nicer than she acted at first. After all, they were friends~
"Just a little something for Megan real quick!" He smiled widely and turned toward the fridge once more. "Okay... Breakfast? Do you like german pancakes?" Yes! That would be pretty quick, and tasty!
He flew to the pantry real quick. And no, it wasn't a figure of speech. His feet left the ground, and he shot to the dry shelf at a pretty impressive speed, grabbing the flour, powdered sugar, and a couple of lemons. Swooping by the prep area, he dropped them off, and walked over to the fridge, smiling to Megan as he went. He wasn't sprinting if his feet didn't touch the ground!
Gathering his eggs and milk, he started preparing the food.
Turning on the vent over the stove, he smiled as he cranked out several of the light, fluffy treats in rapid succession, loading them up with the powdred sugar, folding them, and then covering the top with lemon juice.
He would crank them out and place them before their guest until he couldn't eat another bite. "I love this recipe; light, tasty, and most importantly, quick for the hungry!" Settling down after, he took a seat and dug into his own, single, solitary pancake.
"So, what brings you to the mansion? Are you here as a student?" His eyes glanced to the strange markings on his head, though he resisted asking about it; for some, mutations were a personal thing. Not so much for him, but he'd sort of won the lottery in that regard. Every regard, really. Well, aside from actually winning the lottery... Maybe he should buy a ticket.
He bumped into someone. Someone about as tall as he was, which was rare, because he sure was tall!
"Oops! Sorry!" He felt a hand patting something from him even as he took in the man's features. He was a little ragged, wasn't he? Though... oddly... There really was something nice about him, wasn't there? "Oh, it's okay, I should have watched where I was- Oh... Juniper?"
He hadn't seen her at first. His expression shifted from surprise to a big, wide smile. "Juni! Hey, I've been looking everywhere for you!"
He looked over to the the man, and smiled as well. "Oh, hey! I'm Xavier, Juni's neighbor! Nice to meet you! How do you know Juniper?" Pepper... That was an interesting name to call her. A nickname? Were they old friends?
Wow, though, seeing Juniper and meeting a new friend all in one go? What a great twist of fate! And all while he was taking a detour as well!
Xavier totally missed him purposefully not calling Megan by her requested nomenclature. He was too busy pointing out all of the cool things about his new home! He gave a friendly smile when he gripped his bag tighter. He understood, after all. If that was all he had, it made sense for him to be defensive of it.
"Okay! If you want I can show you around the city later, too. That way we can get you anything else you might need!" He would go for a friendly pat on the shoulder before turning to follow after Megan again. "Gosh, a 12 hour plane ride... Did you at least have someone interesting to talk to next to you?" He chuckled at his noted dislike of looking out the window. He wouldn't know what to do if he was afraid of heights, on account of the whole flying thing.
"Huh. I've never left the states myself. Always thought it would be cool to go over there."
The subject of food came up, and his smile brightened. "Oh, yeah! I would love to whip something up!" Megan diverted her path toward the living quarters, heading toward the kitchen instead. "Do you have anything you prefer? The pantry's pretty well stocked, and I am told I'm a pretty great cook!" He'd been proposed to by several people after they tried his cooking. People were funny like that. It didn't hurt that he was even taller than their new six foot friend, and built like he should be the centerfold of a magazine. He strode on into the large kitchen, looking back as he opened one half of the large double fridge.
"Oh, do you have any dietary needs or allergies? Lots of mutants do, so it's nothing to be ashamed of!" Notably, everything with Megan's name on it would be raw meat. "Did you already eat, Megan?"
frowning a bit. "well, maybe-" She suddenly popped through the wall again, and was gone... smooshing his face a bit, he sighed, stared at the wall for a bit.
Well... If she said she was okay... He would have to keep an eye on her. His eyes widened, however, as he realized something. He... didn't know Juniper's birthday!
~~
He'd gotten her a gift. It was a Ukelele. He knew she liked acoustic instruments, and knew how to play them, and when he saw this one, with the little flower painted on it, he thought it sorta just... fit her, you know?
Still, the trouble was... he just... hadn't seen her. She hadn't answered her door, hadn't been at school.
So, for the past week and a half, it had just sort of... hung out in his backpack, carefully wrapped, mind you. He never knew when he might run into her. She did have a tendency to disappear here and there, but she always came back in the end!
He could depend on her in that way. Still, his brow was forrowed in slight worry as he walked home from school. He'd chosen to walk in order to make contact with more of the sidewalk. It never hurt to have more surface area to play with when it came to his new power, after all. He was pulled out of his thoughts by a passerby saying hi.
Oh, it was Alice! He had a nice conversation with her, and went on his way. She sure was nice! She kept giving him her number, which was funny, because he already had it. He just hadn't really needed to call her a whole lot! Still, it lifted his spirits to talk to a friend. He rounded the corner, deciding to take the long way around in order to make more footfalls in the city. Soon, he would be able to go wherever he wanted! It was exciting!
He was greeted with a sudden exclamation of naughty language, prompting a confused blink. "Sorry!" What had he done? "Hi Megan!" He'd forgotten to say hi to her. Couldn't have that! Everyone needed to be included!
The expletive launching seemingly similarly aged young man gave a firm shake, which Xavier matched well, before turning to allow Megan past them, his brow furrowing a bit as Eoine asked him a question. "What's the what?" He wasn't sure what that meant, but this man's accent sure was neat!
"Oh, I'm sure I can-" Megan interrupted, stating she knew exactly where his new assignment was. That was Megan for you. She sure was dependable. He was invited to join, and shamed for sprinting in the calls. "Oh, uh... sorry... I thought someone needed my help." He poked his fingers together for a second before shaking it off. No sense letting Megan's hall monitoring get him down! He had the potential to make a new friend here! He smiled widely, and followed.
"Did you have any other bags? I can help carry things! It sounds like you've had a long journey." Judging from the accent, at least.
As they walked in, Xavier pointed things out, sticking next to the new person. "That's the main room over there. People hang out there... Down that hall is the kitchen. I can show you that later, if you want. We have the game room down that hallway. It's pretty cool, but not as cool as the danger room." The excitement radiating off of him was palpable as he walked and talked.
Xavier Legend was being helpful. That wasn't anything new; he was always helpful, after all, but right this very moment, he was being helpful with his new power! You see, the mansion had a lot of lightbulbs in high up places, and he had the ability to change the ones that were out!
He'd spent the last hour throwing himself up into the air, touching a light fixture, returning himself to the ground, and then changing out any burnt out bulbs. Now, standing in the main hall, he took a long, contented breath.
Work well done.
Ding-dong~
Oh! The doorbell rang! "I've got it!" The tall blonde trainee turned and started walking toward the door. The bell rang again. He started to speed up. It rang several more times. Uh oh... One ring meant, 'hello, I'm here!', two meant 'Hi I'm eager!' twelve meant 'help I'm dying!' He started sprinting.
Soon, the door opened suddenly, a slightly alert looking Xavier peeking around. "Is... everything okay out here?" He blinked a few times as his eyes assessed the scene. Well, it didn't seem as though it was an emergency out here, at least.
Oh, a new face! And Megan? Why? Didn't matter! New friend! "Hello!" He beamed, opening up the door for the backpack wearing young man before him. "I'm Xavier! Welcome to the Xavier institute for Gifted Youngsters! No relation~" He reached out a big, and yet somehow soft hand for a shake.
Well, she felt a little cold, but she always felt a little cold. Like a little hamster. Still, if it was normal for her, it meant she wasn't running a fever.
"Well... Maybe you should get a checkup just in case?"
She stuck her hand into the floor. Oh, there we go! Wait, it was stuck. His eyes widened as she tugged, and he floated around her fretting.
Xavier watched her little episode with the stuck hand with his brow furrowed in worry as she tugged and tugged. Oh jees, would he need to break the floorboards to get her out? Still, she was fuzed with it, right? How did someone get unfused with something?
She got it free just as quickly as it had become stuck, and sighed, hanging his head. "Juni, you really gotta be careful if your power is acting up... Have you eaten? I dunno... That's really concerning..."
He did, indeed, lift off of the ground. Crossing his arms as he hovered there, he frowned and looked over to Juniper. Was there one of those power canceling people in her apartment or something? Why wasn't her power working? She asked about his power? "Oh, this? It just sorta happened, actually! I figured out if I touch things I can fly to them! I spent a whole day touching everything in here!" He smiled widely, but then floated down to the ground.
"Can you still use your powers away from the wall?" He opted to fly over to the wall real quick to see if his powers deactivated. Nope.
"Huh... It's just you, then... Are you feeling okay?" He flew on up, as if it were second nature already, and held a hand up toward her forehead to feel if she had a fever. "I wonder if it's like dragon man... he lost his powers for a while and had to do a soul journey to recover them. It was his best redemption arc... before they killed him off. Oh, it's okay, he got better. Now he's a zombie dragon."
OH YEAH, IS THAT WHAT THIS IS GONNA BE, IT'S GONNA BE AN ARGUMENT, THEN?! OKAY, OKAY, I SEE HOW IT IS. well BRING IT ON, THEN!
"Oh, sorry, heh! Excited!"
There it was, sitting there on his shelf, a new capstone to his ACTION FU@#ING FIGURE collection. "Mint? Oh, Mint means it's in perfect condition, usually unopened. Thanks again Juni, you're the best... Wait... how much did this-"
She bumped into the wall. He stared at her funny. "Um... Is everything okay? Power on the fritz?" He turned away from the shelf and walked over to her, his face shifted into a concerned expression.
"What's going on?" He gave himself an experimental jolt with his powers, seeing if he still hovered in the air like he'd been practicing.
Okay first off, it's not a doll, its an ACTION FIGURE WITH KUNG FU GRIP!
She didn't say that out loud, though, and it was at the end of the post, so why would we ever address it at the start? BECAUSE IT'S IMPORTANT, MOUSE!
Ahem. The paper was him themed. That was the most amazing thing anyone had ever made for him. And she did it to wrap something for him. He could kiss her. He wouldn't because they were friends, and nothing more, but he was certainly going to hug her!
"It's the find of the century, Juni!" He swept her up in a big ol' bear hug, and set her dowm, jumping in placed a bit as he turned to take a closer look at his new action figure.
"Wow... It really is the real deal... I'm not even going to take it out of the box! It's mint!" He lifted it carefully, and walked over to his shelf, smiling widely as he shifted some things around, and placed Jude in place next to Snowdancer Aiden.
He then took a step back, hands on his hips, and a content smile on his face.
He was just starting to have fun with keep away, when she shot down his guesses, and plopped something into his hands.
A package. In wrapping paper. Hero themed wrapping paper. He lit up, taking it in his hands and looking at it for a moment. "Wow... Juni, where'd you get this paper? He walked over to his table, and set it down, carefully, slowly peeling the tape so that it didn't tear the paper.
Slowly, he lifted up the folds of the paper, revealing the contents within.
His eyes sparkled with the light of joy as he stared down upon none other than a limited edition Trainee Jude action figure, dubbed 'Nude Jude' because, well, he was undressable, and people liked to undress him.
He still had his clothes. "He still has his clothes... Juni, he still has all of his clothes! Where did you get this? These are so hard to find!" He looked up at her, the biggest smile plastered on his face.
He smiled brightly as she asked about his birthday! "It was great! I ran for 24 hours straight, and then got to wrestle Elke's brother!" It might not sound like fun for anyone else, but he'd had a ball! Aside from being sore the next day, and nearly dying a couple of times.
Still, he was a man, now, and he could fly. Well, potentially, he could fly. Like, the theory was pretty solid. Also, he was getting a gift! "Oh! Neat! What'd you get me? Is it another... far wars Rego set?" She'd been giving him those... He wasn't exactly a Farwars fan, but he had made all of them because Juniper was his friend, and he liked that she got him gifts. It made her happy, so it made him happy, even if he wasn't a huge fan.
He absolutely tried to peek around her to see what it was. He was terrible at guessing games! "Or maybe a new set of boxing gloves? Oh! A pie? Did you try making another pie?" Maybe it would be edible this time! Oh, who was he kidding, he'd eat it either way.
The knock came when he'd just gotten finished tidying up his living area. He was the sort to keep things fairly clean, even though he was a young man, living alone, with little to no consequences for being a slob. It just didn't sit right with him for his room to be anything short of immaculate.
He'd just finished dusting his action figures when a knock came from the wall. A smiled grew on his face as he called out. "Come on in!" Juni had gotten a lot better with the whole barging in without asking thing! She would pop in to see him wearing his frilly cleaning apron, tucking away his duster as he adjusted his modified Lodestone action figure, next to his CS master class battle damaged action figure with golem, and his Tuxedo Shin. Of course, that was below the Shining Knight Maya, which was next to the sheild man Cafas, and Snowdancer Aiden. That one was rare.
You see, people who had short stints on the team, or never got past trainee, were only made in limited edition productions, and thus, they were very hard to find. Snowdancer Aiden was one of his prized possessions for that reason.
"Hey Juni!" He turned toward her as he started to untie his apron. He was wearing clothes underneath, of course. Why wouldn't he be? He hadn't seen her since Elke had kidnapped him for a strange rite of passage. He was an adult now, after all. Apparently.
"What's up?" Was she holding something behind her back?
