The X-men run missions and work together with the NYPD, striving to maintain a peaceful balance between humans and mutants. When it comes to a fight, they won't back down from protecting those who need their help.
Haven presents itself as a humanitarian organization for activists, leaders, and high society, yet mutants are the secret leaders working to protect and serve their kind. Behind the scenes they bring their goals into reality.
From the time when mutants became known to the world, SUPER was founded as a black-ops division of the CIA in an attempt to classify, observe, and learn more about this new and rising threat.
The Syndicate works to help bring mutantkind to the forefront of the world. They work from the shadows, a beacon of hope for mutants, but a bane to mankind. With their guiding hand, humanity will finally find extinction.
Since the existence of mutants was first revealed in the nineties, the world has become a changed place. Whether they're genetic misfits or the next stage in humanity's evolution, there's no denying their growing numbers, especially in hubs like New York City. The NYPD has a division devoted to mutant related crimes. Super-powered vigilantes help to maintain the peace. Those who style themselves as Homo Superior work to tear society apart for rebuilding in their own image.

He was a big man; he could make his own hole. He crashed through the glass off to the side of Cafas' big entrance just moments after the glass mended itself, and landed atop a table, which promptly bucked him off like a bronco, causing him to do a barrel roll, and land at its side... A kinetic force draining hand reached out to grab the table and hold it steady so it couldn't struggle, while the other smacked it until it was good and disassembled.
"Well, for moving furniture, at least they are stupid. Anyone else gettin' a Beauty and the Beast vibe here?..."
"This'd be a wee bit more inviting if everything was singing, at least," "No kidding... After all that 'be our guest' business, they ain't exactly making me feel very welcome."
So, it was a little freaky that the windows were fixing themselves, that the furniture was moving around them with murderous intent, and that no one else seemed even the least bit surprised at this. Saphirus had been around the block a few times, but only in a Disney movie had he ever seen animate office chairs attack people.
Still, there was no use freaking out about it now; A reception desk was trying to cut a few people off from escaping. With a leap aided by some stored kinetic energy, he landed at it's side, and grabbed it. Similar to how it worked with the table, any force the desk put out toward him while trying to struggle out of his grasp was absorbed, making almost impossible for the stiff object to wiggle from his grasp. The people didn't take the time to thank him; they were out of the entrance as soon as Cafas propped it open.
"Good job, Caf." He nodded to the propped open door, and turned as he heard a light bulb explode. A hand went up to block any broken glass from getting into his head."I'm willing to bet the power for the whole building is routed through the basement... Prolly not a whole lot of people down there to help out, though... I might be able to get to it, if you want." He looked to Mirror expectantly just as the green girl threw a comment at Cafas, and Emerald entered the room with a fan club attached to her; he resisted laughing when one of them made it awkward bu hugging her, because while he'd seen her around the mansion a few times, they'd never once talked... He had no idea if she was the type to be offended by a chuckle, and he didn't feel like angering someone he lived with.
He would let their team leader answer her question, as well as tell him if he wanted the power for the whole building cut... If that wasn't the case, he could probably just find the breaker for this floor, and bust it up as well, but it was a less permanent solution.
They got to their destination quickly; Cafas drove like a maniac, which was perfectly fine in the mind of the Masochist. He'd caught sight of lots of familiar faces... Koga, Gawain, Streak... and detective Cervantes... A grin formed on his face. It really was a small world; he made a mental note to thank the good detective for helping Andrea out.
Before that, though, he had bigger fish to fry. Cafas was charging in headlong, and the new girl, who had a very green look about her, showed her eagerness to help out. Heh. She called Gawain 'Sir', and she was serious about this. He chuckled under his breath. Before he had too much time to enjoy the moment, though, he heard the sound of shattering glass, and turned to the girl. "If you can hold doors open, then you'd prolly be best helping free the people trapped inside... Just... Don't get in the way, alright?" Without another word he turned and speed hobbled toward the entrance Cafas had made, his crowbar clenched tightly in his hand.
Interesting choice, he thought as he eyed Cafas' new toy, taking a page from the Judge's notebook; he'd always thought a sword fit the younger mutant's style better, but he couldn't complain about the effect it had, and the need for higher impact weapons was clear if they would really be fighting the building itself as Gawain had said.
She wasn't the only one. There was a metal covered girl, the Aura wannabe, and... woah... A rather busty girl dressed like that homicidal bonemancer he'd yet to meet, albeit she was a little more... scantly clad.
He coughed a little as the metal dressed one spoke up, and looked to Megan as she responded.
"Girls... please. Drool somewhere else." He nodded just a little.
"Yeah, I'm actually... kinda busy, so-" A chest bounced with a huff, and one of them spoke up; "And who are you supposed to me? Some boring side kick? Slapping contacts in and throwing on some black doesn't qualify as a costume you know... Each of our costumes took days to make, why, that Meld tail took a month just to get all of the pieces!"
He eyes the metal covered girl, who was getting rather close; it was clear she'd worked hard on her costume, and he'd heard of Meld, but never met her before... Still, he wasn't exactly sure how to react to girls dressed as people he would gladly put into the grave hitting on him. He decided it was best to ignore it, and leave it be.... right?
Megan punched one of them in the face, letting go of him in the process... He managed to keep standing, though not without a solid wince. Just as she reached back to punch the other one, his hand rocketed out to grab hers; with a twist, a tweak and a push he sent her face down into the ground, and held her there.
"What the HELL are you doing?! Do you want to get us kicked out?"
The Aura cosplayer stood shakily, holding her mouth with her hand, her eyes red and teary. Jesus she was just a stupid kid; she didn't deserve to get clobbered. "I am so sorry... Is there anything I can do for you to make it up to you? Preferably without the officials getting involved?"
Because he'd spent all damned night last night moonlighting as the Judge, and he felt like he'd earned a day of rest and relaxation. Did that mean he was grumpy when he felt a hand moving toward him with enough force to push, and fond himself on the floor before he could snap his attention from a small kid fighting a foot monster with his stretchy dog? Heck no! He was getting an offering for his first real X-mission! Jesus, he'd been working for more than a year and they hadn't called on him once!
Now was his time to shine! He hopped to his feet quickly, and saluted smartly. "I'll see you out there in one minute, maybe two!" He eyed the two other people with the young team leader, nodding silently to Cafas, and then speed hobbled out of the room faster than you would expect a man with a hobble could. On the way he pondered what exactly it Gawain meant by a building needing a beating... like... a building full of people, or an actual building?
Bam! The door of his room slammed shut behind him. Andrea was cleaning his room. D'aww, he hadn't asked her to. How sweet! He started stripping.
"Not much time. Building needs to be punched, wish me luck! Kiss?" He had his spandex leggings on by the time he leaned in for a kiss, and his crowbar and top in hand by the time he dove out the window, and landed in the garden, careful to land on the proper foot. From there it was just a hop skip and a jump to the driveway where he could meet the rest of the team.
An odd thought occurred as he slid his spandex shirt on over a bruised muscly frame while walking up to the driveway... Did buildings even have asses?
No worry, if it was there, he would kick it, if it wasn't he'd find something else to kick.
A honk pulled him out of his deep well of thought and surprise... Wait a sec... Crap! They literally weren't going fast enough! He started the car again, and they were moving once more in no time... Saph sat silently for a moment, working out things in his head... So... wait, maybe she was talking about they were literally going too slow, and... and he needed to drive faster... yeah, that could be it... Or... Or she really wanted their relationship to go to the next level.
Woah. It was a little soon, but... Well... If it was what she wanted.
"Yeah... too fast... slow is bad... yeah..." He sat silently for a moment, until the next light. Well... What could he say in response to that? It wasn't like he'd prepared for something like this. What did it even mean, anyway? Was... was he getting lucky tonight?! To be honest, he was a little disappointed. He'd taken her to be more modest than that. Still, they had already thrown the L-word around, and he sure as hell meant it... Maybe it was the right time. He was driving toward a tree.
SCREEEEEEE~~~~~~~!
He swerved back into the lane. "Eh... Sorry... I dunno what happened, there." Saphirus decided his thoughts were best left to the road for now... He would think about the rest later.
He blinked a few times as she bombarded him with questions. "Uhm... A stick? It's the thing you use to shift the gears... Yeah... with the transmission and stuff. Wait a minute, you dunno how to drive? Wait, duh... not leaving the house'll do that... Well... I could probably teach you some time... you know... if you want."
He went back to paying attention to the road, coming to a stop at a stoplight.. "Pressure? What pressure? I am more than willing to get to know you better, you should know that." The light turned green.
He stalled.
"Ah-ah- uhm. y... you are? Well, I just figured you would want to...uhm... take it a- at your own pace is all... You know... Um... Yeah. You don't mean... you want to speed things up?" The car sat in the middle of the road for a second.
"I'm sure we would" He replied to her statement, barely keeping the ironic undertone out of his voice. He pulled onto the road, and shifted the car into gear, as her hand touched his, and he accidentally stalled the car. "Oops.. Heh... My bad." He started it again, and then got them going down the road. "Sorry... S'hard to hold hands and work the stick at the same time."
He smiled a little, and nodded at her words. "I've been in a few relationships... I dunno, though... I suppose at this stage it's mainly about getting to know each other, and spending time together. No pressure or anything..." He kept his mouth shut about some of the more serious stuff. This girl was innocent, and classy... She didn't need to know about young Saphirus' many voyages into the unknown and whatnot. He was also perfectly fine with taking this whole thing at a pace that would be comfortable for her.
Still, he couldn't help but imagine... nevermind. They had to get where they were headed, right? It was still early, so they could get in before the lunch rush if they hurried.

Okay, so the Kaitlyn could just be any old person with that name, just Jorge... that was just strange... It really was a small world... Sure, there could be a few cops in NYC with that same first name, but he reasoned that there was most likely only one in the MRC, and they would be the type to step in when a mutant was attacked, it being a mutant related crime and all...
Still, it was nice to hear that the detective he'd chosen to work with as the judge had helped the woman he loved in her time of need. He sure did know how to pick em. "Sounds like a good guy... i'll have to thank him... I'm... I'm sorry I wasn't there..." His eyes locked onto the steering wheel for a moment as he stopped the car... He then turned it around slowly so they could drive up to the gate, and out of the mansion's property.
"Well, no use talking about that kinda stuff, though... I figure we can head to the phone store first, and then maybe we'll get some food.... Then clothes. Wachu think?" He forced a smile, and before too long it was genuine. He really had a hard time remaining in a bad mood around her... Saphirus realized that he would just have to get used to being happy...
Heh... Wasn't so bad, actually. He kinda liked it.

She said a lot of stuff... some stuff that just didn't make any sense to him, but some that... might possibly. For example... Kaitlyn... the exploding girl? Nah... He did suspect she lived at the sanctuary, but she didn't seem like the teaching type... And Jorge... Like... detective Cervantes? Nah... that was just... impossible. He tucked those thoughts away, though... those were people the Judge had met.
The more important tidbit was that she had a new job... At a place that sounded... oddly familiar... maybe it was nothing... Faust, Faust... where had he heard that name...
Oh well, he'd think of it later. For now, they had to head out! "Well, you can call in when we get you a new phone! I'm sure your employer will understand!" He wasn't sure, but it just made it so the phone store would be their first stop. He pressed the garage door button, and started up the car, which took a few tries, but got there.
Before they could say... well... a very long sentence, actually... they were off!
"So tell me about these people... Kaitlyn, and Jorge? Did you meet them while you were living out there?" He asked in an innocent, in no way probing tone...He was just curious, after all... Perhaps those were the people she said she would miss from the Sanctuary.

Did he get a yes? No. He got a "You bet I do!", which was even better!
And then he got tackled, and fell over with a yelp of surprise as his soundtrack.
CRASH! They landed amongst the picnic supplies, and she rolled off, revealing their shared state of dirtiness... it didn't matter, though, because she leaned in to kiss him, and he gladly kissed back... He was a happy man, and this was a happy day... no kickball kid or strange sandwich could take that away from him... nothing could...
a shower with her would make it better... no? No shower? Well, you can't always get what you want, right?
He would settle for kissing for now; lots and lots of kissing.

He held her hand in his, she wiped her ketchup stained hand on the shirt he'd loaned her, he smiled widely and tried not to laugh...
This was a moment he would surely remember for a long, long time to come... After all, who else could say they asked their girlfriend out while she used your shirt as a wash towel just after being mooned by a kid whose ball you just sent to the moon? Probably a couple people, actually, but he doubted any of them would feel as lucky as he if she said yes.
"So... I figured, since we love each other and all, it might be a given.. but... Well, why not make it official? Andrea... wanna be my girlfriend?"
He gave her his best charming smile, and simply waited for her response... Slowly, the charming look turned into a puppy-dog one.

He cackled and bowed as she called him a beast, and then looked up to her newly cleaned face. "And you, miss, are way too pretty for a man like me, but you said yes, so your fate is sealed!" He returned to standing, and reached out to grab the cloth from the air as she tossed it, rubbing his hands clean. He then discarded the rag, and turned to present his car.
It was... well... it wasn't much to look at, but it was safe! He backed that up by saying, "It's not much to look at, but it's safe!"
He leaned against the car, which groaned a little, as in if pain, causing him to stand right back up. "That's... that's nothing, really... gonna fix that soon. But yeah! I figured we'd go to the mall! There's plenty-a places to shop there... Also, y'need a new phone, right? They got that stuff there too!" He grinned a little, and walked over to the car, opening the door for her... It squeaked painfully as it opened, and revealed an interior that wasn't at all unlike the outside. "I'm, ah.... gonna work on that, too."
He danced on over to his side and got in, pausing for a moment. "Wait a sec... were'd you get money?"
