The X-men run missions and work together with the NYPD, striving to maintain a peaceful balance between humans and mutants. When it comes to a fight, they won't back down from protecting those who need their help.
Haven presents itself as a humanitarian organization for activists, leaders, and high society, yet mutants are the secret leaders working to protect and serve their kind. Behind the scenes they bring their goals into reality.
From the time when mutants became known to the world, SUPER was founded as a black-ops division of the CIA in an attempt to classify, observe, and learn more about this new and rising threat.
The Syndicate works to help bring mutantkind to the forefront of the world. They work from the shadows, a beacon of hope for mutants, but a bane to mankind. With their guiding hand, humanity will finally find extinction.
Since the existence of mutants was first revealed in the nineties, the world has become a changed place. Whether they're genetic misfits or the next stage in humanity's evolution, there's no denying their growing numbers, especially in hubs like New York City. The NYPD has a division devoted to mutant related crimes. Super-powered vigilantes help to maintain the peace. Those who style themselves as Homo Superior work to tear society apart for rebuilding in their own image.

Saphirus bit his lip. He bit it hard. He bit it so hard that there was no way, no way at all a laugh could escape from his mouth. What else could the poor man do? He'd just seen his girlfriend sprint out of a store while being shown an item that crushed her innocence, charge head on into a men's restroom on accident, scream at the top of her lungs along with the man who had to have been peeing when she entered.
He held his ground, a general fighting against impossible odds. The corner of his mouth started to lift, and he forced it down. No! No laughy! He was an adult, damnit, and he had to be compassionate, and supportive of her in this trying and embarrassing moment! He would stand tall as a pillar of support, awesomeness, and abs!
"....T-that... was the men's restroom..." "BAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!" S#*@! "Ahem! Y- yeah it was... So... um... Not sure what to say... You wanna try a store we know will be safe" He pointed out of the bathroom hallway to a large entrance to an even larger store. "Gracy's... Can't go wrong with Gracy's." He reached his hand out to the fallen little lady. It was probably about time for them to finally have a normal shopping experience.

His eyes widened as the twin pointed at the girl he'd just tossed to the side, and the image of a quiver on her back popped into his head. OF COURSE! She was the original, and she made life size copies of herself! They all seemed to be of similar intelligence, too, considering she was daft enough to try to attack him alone.
The twin tossed the bow to the side, and he felt a fake arrow hit him in the back of his head.
Part of him contemplated falling over laughing at the sheer ridiculousness of it all, and the rest of him wanted to capture this kid and find out who was stupid and evil enough to send her to try and stop him... Also, there was that part that figured no one was that stupid, which bred the possibility that there was a girl running around town trying to shoot vigilantes with arrows... for the kicks.
He turned to face the retreating girl, and began walking after her... He would have to leap down the alley-way to cut her off here in a second, but for now- Sirens were heard; a cop pulled into the alley on the girl's side... damnit! He might get caught if he pursued her, and considering what he'd just done, this whole place was about to be swarming with suits. He would have to pursue the little trouble maker later... The Judge memorized her face for later.

How sure was he that this was going to end badly?
So, so sure. He'd never been so sure of anything in his life. You see, Andrea's innocence was not unlike a minnow. A small fish that swims in small ponds, and is carefree in almost all aspects. Sure, it's bound to discover some new things here or there, but anything it encounters won't be much bigger than it; it is a small pond after all...
This was ramming a whale into her pond and telling her to deal with it, so when she ran out, Saph looked at the colorfully headed man, and frowned. "What? Was it something I said?" The man asked, shrugging as the item in his hand flopped about. " I... eh... I gotta go." Saph hurried out in the wake of the panicked exit of his date. All he saw was a door close, with a man leaning against the sign next to it. On the other side was another door, and between the two doors was a ladies restroom sign.
The man looked at his watch, and suddenly jumped into action, heading down the way....
Uh oh...
Behind where the man had once stood was a Men's bathroom sign... right next to the door Andy had entered.

"Yeah. Thanks for giving me a heads-up before snatching me up like that, Judge. Real safe."
"It was too risky; I couldn't be seen with you in public." He reached down to the rest of his equipment and took a quick stalk. "You should have know it was me anyway." Unless she had other people who might have an interest in her... He didn't think she'd been getting into any more trouble, but perhaps that assassin had taken her attempt to defend that man personally. He made a note to ask her about it later, for now they had places to be.
She changed quickly; that was good. It gave him a little more time to brief her. "I have something for you." He reached into his bag, and retrieved what appeared to be a small panel with a hand grip. He held it out toward her, held down a button on the grip, gave it a solid flick, and it fanned out into what was clearly a moderately sized steel shield. "It will stand up to small arms fire, but if you see a rifle, dive for cover. Even with this, avoid getting shot. You aren't me. You'll mind it a bit more."
He pointed to the bag he'd pulled the shield from. "Put your clothes and personal affects in this bag."
"You know, one of my friends caught you spying on me a lot. She probably thinks you're the creepiest guy on the planet." He nodded. He'd always been aware of the possibility that he would be noticed. He didn't care much. "I care very little what your friend thinks of me. If anyone asks, tell them that you were attacked, but you took care of it. From here on I will contact you through less conspicuous methods."
He looked to his watch again. They had to leave soon.
"What do you know of the Vermici family?" Mainly, he wondered if she watched the news regularly, or knew anyone who was aware of the rather famous mob families criminal organisation. They were known for their apparent inability to be touched by the law. He had also very recently broken the spine of the eldest son of the don very publicly, and called out the don himself.

The masochist was hitting himself; he had a feeling he might need an extra boost in the coming moments. Mirror made some calls; it was smart to divide them into small groups, especially the pairing up of a metal manip with a brawler type in each group. Part of him thought he might be better paired with Cafas, since he and Emerald seemed to have some sort of issue with each other, but the new girl had the range to retrieve his crowbar, and perhaps having them work together would ease the tension between them?
It really didn't matter, to be honest; he was sure both of them were adult enough not to let that kind of stuff get in the way.
The lights went out. He looked up as the emergency generator kicked in, allowing some dim lighting. It would be enough to make out the difference between human and intimate shapes at least.
"We shouldn't need to worry about light; I can work in perfect darkness if need be." He spoke to the new girl, who inquired about his powers. "Not a lot of time to explain now... Half of me is invulnerable,"he motioned to his right side, "so you can use it as cover if you need. The other side hits hard. I can also feel when things are moving; that should be enough for now, yeah?" He turned toward their selected room, and nodded to give her the go ahead, and she smacked her shield into the door, which complained loudly, and then fell. He was in the room immediately, and was greeted with the vague low-light vision of a struggle.
His sixth sense told him that there were two moving humans in the room, his eyes told him there was another very still one on the ground. A projectile he was willing to bet was a bill file was flying at one of the struggling figures, and his crowbar zipped through the air to stop it. He soon followed it, kicking aside a computer monitor that tried to get in his way. This close he could see that the struggling people seemed to be wrapped in a cable of a sort. He held out his hand so that Rebecca could return his crowbar to him, and smacked it down on the desk, severing one of the cords. The other he poked with his finger, sending enough energy to sever it. The people fell to the ground as the cords went lax, and the desk stared bucking wildly. He stilled it with his right hand, retrieved his crowbar from the desk, smacked a picture frame that had been flying at the back of his head, and then cracked the desk in half with an energy assisted blow.
It was then that everything on the walls decided to fly at him at once. He ushered the people, still gasping for breath, toward the door as he relied on his sixth sense to knock the many thumb tacks, motivationals, and other miscellaneous things from the air as they came, not even bothering to look at the things he was hitting. The two reached Rebecca, and Saph kneeled down to grab the third, still one. A bill file hit him in the right arm, and bounced off harmlessly. He gave it a solid kick, and headed out the door. "We can't be knocking the doors down from now on; gotta make it so we can close em after." He made it to the door, and set the man down, beating at a phone that tried to follow him out.
A quick check of the man's vitals told him that the prognosis was bleak; he'd been stabbed in the heart by a bill file. At least they'd gotten there in time to save the others, who were now trying to revive their fallen coworker. With a sullen frown on his face, he turned to the scott. He wasn't sure if she'd ever seen a dead person before, but it was a fact of life in their line of work; there were some people you just couldn't save in time. "We gotta get to the next door." He placed a hand on the nearest victim's shoulder as he gave up on CPR, and pointed to the cut up and bloodied mirror down the hall. "I'm sorry, but you have to leave... He can show you to safety."
The next room was a conference room, with a chorus of screaming coming from it. They had to hurry!
His mind was so clouded by the time the medic arrived, that he'd hardly noticed a new person had shown up. The heel was removed from his wound, and he lay there for a moment before Cafas' comment about him getting shot snapped him out of it.
"Clearly you ain't been fighting crime for long... Getting shot is an eventuality, not a possibility." He grunted as he tried to climb himself into a sitting position, and eyed the medic for a moment. "Not sure there's a whole lot you can do for me, doc... I got patched up already." then again, he wasn't supposed to be out of the hospital, be he would leave that little detail out."Unless you know anyone who can turn back time and get me unshot." He tried to climb to his knees, but grunted again. The three girls stood there for a moment, dumbfounded... Him being injured was news to them, as if it wasn't quite obvious.
His hand wandered to the wound once more, and the bandage felt moist against his skin.. "Um.... mighta... opened it a little." He then felt quite dizzy, and fell on his back once more. So... maybe he shouldn't have snuck out of the hospital early. Also, he probably shouldn't have gone out to find his silk supplier at a time like this as well... Well... you live and learn, right?

The Pit is officially open for business!
First off! Things you should know before you enter the pit: You were either kidnapped and sold to the pit, or volunteered, either way, you will get supplies and food rations if you make it out alive. Of course, winners get more, and medical help; losers get some band-aids, cold soup, and told to either try again or get lost.
Should you capture someone, and bring them to the Pit, you get a few things! First, you get a front row seat up by the boss man himself(and possibly a good opportunity to assassinate him, if that's what you're into~!), Second, you get a promise that if he has any one piece of equipment you desire* you may have that. Third, you get to stay in the luxury suite for one night only, with company if so desired**!
*Within reason **It may be a cockroach.
Second off! The Pit and the surrounding compound are described as follows: Located on liberty Island, you must either ride the ferry(it's a really big row boat; the fuel is reserved for kidnapping people and raiding), or find your own over-water transportation. All of this can be handwaved IC. When you arrive on the island, you pass through the first security checkpoint, where a moderately intelligent talking cockroach minion and some other NPC's will pat you down, and hold all of your weapons; assume they are fairly competent, and you can't sneak anything too big in. You will then enter into a trading post, where people hawk their hard earned and scavenged goods for access to the arena, or they enter themselves into the pit in order to gain much needed supplies. People live in this place(the guards and families, as well as regular gladiators), so it is rather cluttered and messy. In the center of the compound, is the masterpiece, where the statue of liberty once stood; A dome made from scrap, large enough for people to fight, and view fights from all angles, and small enough for you to wish it was bigger while on the inside. It's walls are lined with hooks; hooks with weapons hanging from them. Some of the weapons are normal; baseball bats with nails in them, crude spears. Some are unique; lawn mowers, chain saws, hedge clippers. All of these are at your disposal, though to may have to climb for them! Finally, perched up high in the dome is a throne in which the dome's creator sits, and announces the fights, and gives the occasional speech!
And that is our lovely AoS death pit in a nutshell!
With that out of the way, here's how this is gonna work;
You can sign up for one of three arena activities, some of which involve sending me a lovely PM~~~ And some don't!
Option one: You, and someone else really want to see how your characters would stand up against each other! You may fight to the death, or until someone is unable to fight; your call! If you would like a special scenario in which you and your lovely battle partner can battle each other in, send me a PM, and I will either(at your request) A: Tell you if it's possible, or B: Give you a surprise scenario of my choosing!
Option two: You want to fight another PC in the arena. You don't care who you fight, in fact, you want it to be a surprise! PM me to let me know! I will do my best to make all fights balanced and interesting!
Option three: You want to maim, kill, torture, publicly embarrass NPCs*! What do I say to that? Have at it! I will even offer up Roach for the occasional color commentary!
*Remember, nothing too graphic, this is a T rated site, after all
Obligatory option D: If you have something else entirely in mind for the Pit, send me a PM, or catch me of the C-box! I will do the best I can to satisfy your every RP desire!
The pit can also be an RP destination as well, if you want to play out your threads with death, destruction, and a cheering bloodthirsty crowd in the background! Just let me know if you plan on causing a huge disturbance(IE: blowing up my lovely death pit). Keep in mind that security is insanely heavy, and all weapons are checked on in the way in.
I look forward to hearing from you, and if you have any questions about the arena itself, let me know!
Things went mostly as he had planned. He'd landed perfectly; the Russian judges would have been impressed. Snatching her up was an easy task as well, and it went without off a hitch. There was that little part where she tried to blow him up, but it was an understandable reaction.
It was an understandable reaction; he had just kidnapped her after all, but part of him had hoped she would be conscious enough to take note of the fact that they were flying through the air, and blowing him up might lead to the demise of both of them. He would have to teach her to defeat her reflexive actions, and do her best to make every move well thought out and deliberate... He would also have to start taking his own advice; this whole action had been dangerous and only moderately thought out, but timing was crucial.
The landing on the roof wasn't as neat as he'd hoped; the burst of energy her attack had thrown him off balance, so they landed in a roll. He came to his feet a couple yards away from her, and used some of the energy from her attack to blow off his cloak, revealing his armor.
"You weren't expecting me, then." He looked about for a moment, and then to his watch. 3pm.
"Right next to you is a bag. You'll find clothing in there. There is a bathroom just on the other side of the roof access door. You have fifteen minutes to get changed. If you aren't out in fifteen, I will assume you have fled. Go."
He didn't check on her to see if the somewhat rough landing had affected her. If that was enough to break her spirit, then she was useless to him. He needed her to know right here and now, this was not a field trip, and if she was going to hesitate at all, now was the time to do it.
He watched silently as the girl spoke to her extra pair of shoes. He treated the exercise in extraordinary stupidity as a lesson on how this person's mutation might work. If he was right about the duplicates, they would only last a couple hours... At least the only other duplicator he'd met made them for that long... They were also exact clones of himself in every way, aside from being shorter and more annoying...
He eyed the clone for another moment as she finished her message to her sneakers. If it's creator was smart enough to ditch the would-be murder weapon with her, perhaps they made clones that were considerably less intelligent... For their sake he really hoped so, because he'd assembled smarter bags of hammers.
The Judge didn't even bother looking at the hand as she offered it so that he could walk with her... The very concept of him walking hand in hand with a possible mob hired assassin's clone was... ludicrous.
He tuned her out and allowed her to lead the way out of the building to her and her boss's supposed meeting place... It was a trap... The experienced crimefighter was damn sure it was a trap. Why? Because nothing was ever that easy... The Judge prepared for an ambush from all sides; foes guns blazing; notable cover positions were located, and bookmarked for later use, improvised weapons were pinpointed, and possible ambush points were... pointed out.
What came of the situation? What was the result of him being lured into an admittedly near perfect ambush location?
"GERONIMO!"
He felt a little girl flying toward him, and reached up to catch her before she landed on him... A quick peek showed there were no grenades attached. He tossed what he figured was another clone on the ground next to the other one. He turned to the clone who had lead him here and growled "Enough. Where is your boss? Tell me... now."

Heh... She thought he was kidding. He would let her think that for now, and then, who knows? Maybe he could guilt her into wearing it when she was more comfortable with him in the future... It wasn't like they didn't have plenty of time, was it?
She got a little upset about freezing the girl, but honestly, he wasn't worried. It was disorienting, sure, but it wasn't like it had any lasting effects. "Naaaah I wouldn't worry about it. She'll be fine. We wont, on the other hand, if we don't get us some clothes."
That was a double negative. Don't do no double negatives, yo.
His eyes widened as she brought up the prospect of going to spankies. He didn't go to malls super often, but he knew what a spankies was... "Oh, well.. I don't thi-" They were already inside... Oh crap. He didn't see this ending well.
The first thing she did was grab a shirt with a naughty saying on it... She... did know what that meant, right? "Uh... Well, I don-" he looked to the nearest associate, who was picking his nose, and then back to where she'd been. She was gone again.
He ventured into the store after her, and froze in place when she presented him with... well... it was... a somewhat cartoony caricature of something poor Andrea would probably never hold in her hands on purpose. Dear god, put a little smiley face on it and she was clueless... "Oh! That... Th- Thats not important. Lets put it back." He plucked it quickly from her gloved hand and tossed it over his shoulder. "There! Good as new! I don't see a lot of clothes here, maybe we should g-"
"Well hello~~~~ there!" A voice rang out. "Do we have a happy couple here?" An effeminate man with hair died every which color addressed them as he strolled up, and placed a hand on Saph's chest. "And quite a charming couple as well."
Uh oh...
"You know what you could use? Something special to spice things up!" the man grabbed Andrea by the hand, and started to drag her to the back of the store. "I'm Tommy by the by, and I gotta say you look waaaay too comfortable. Trust me, I know how to please em, and comfortable isn't the way to do it." He gave her a wink, and pulled her into an isle that was full of clothing items that were sure to make her turn more shades of brown than charlie could ever be.

What the hell was he hearing... The Judge ignored the bonk with the bow, aimed at his right side. He let the little girl go, and eyed her as she dropped to the ground.
"The boss shot me. I was being mean to him... You're out of your damned mind, aren't you?"
He listened to her explanation of why she didn't care her 'sister' was dead... It made sense, actually... Maybe they were golems of a sort... He'd met a man once who could make tiny versions of himself... Maybe there was another man out there doing the same thing? It wasn't the same one, that was for sure... He'd killed that guy dead... Like... Really dead. Super dead.
He couldn't resist the urge to roll his eyes when she started talking in a really bad mobster accent... Which brought him to his next question. "Who sent your boss, then? The Vermici family?" He would have her up against the wall again. "Trying to distract me so that Vince could escape? That didn't work too well... How about I make a deal with you... You're going to lead me to your boss, and in return... I'll let you go unharmed."
It was most likely the best deal he would give her; the child seemed rather empty in the head, but he had no proof she did anything wrong, other than petty theft from a dead carcass... He couldn't harm her unless she gave him a good reason to.

Good... She was leaving the building alone. He was rather sure she knew she was being watched... Mostly because he often saw people peeking from the windows of the building every once in a while. It didn't matter, really. In the end if she chose to serve the city with him, she wouldn't tell a soul, and if she didn't it would be an interesting story for her to tell, that few would ever believe.
He lifted a hand from the heavy cloak he wore to mask his identity, revealing a digital watch. 2:59pm... Perfect. They would be on time to their end destination if he approached her within the minute. All he had to do was wait until no one who knew her was looking.
He lowered his hand once more, and waited for her to pass out of view of the exit, and in front of a nearby alleyway. That was when he chose to pounce. With a burst of energy that cracked the roof under him, he launched himself across the street, and stuck out his right foot so that he would land at her side without the sound that such an impact should summon up. He would then grab her securely, and launch the pair of them all the way down the alley way. A third jump would put them on the roof of the building across the street on the other side, where his equipment was waiting.
The idea was that he would do all of this too fast for her to even know what was going on; it would be interesting to see if that was how it worked.

A grin appeared on his face as his crowbar landed in his hand. "I like you already, Kid. Think you could do that every time I throw this thing?"
Once again, he didn't wait for an answer right away. Cafas was already getting himself into trouble, and it was clear that a little help might be appreciated; he was already on his way, smacking himself with his own crowbar as Cafas retreated. Their self elected leader knew just what to do as he charged past, smacking his hammer into the Masochist. His grin widened as he confronted the wall of moving office furniture, it's bold file holding leader at the tip of the arrow, and unleashed every bit of energy he'd gathered into it.
CRRRASSHHH~~~~
The blow ripped the sturdy file cabinet to shreds, and sent its shrapnel into the furniture behind it, ripping them apart as well.
He watched with a bemused smile, taking a second to hand the hook of his crowbar on his forearm, and pat his hands together while chuckling.
The sound of a trail of broken glass removed the merry mood from him entirely... His first thought was correct; smashing glass meant bad things for Gawain. He was the furthest away from the team leader when he came out, but he could see he was pretty cut up. He resisted the urge to laugh when Emerald picked the man up and carried him out; so that's the kinda woman she was, huh? He didn't mind someone who was willing to look a little silly in order to help a team mate, and she did it in a bad a** enough fashion that at the worst it only belittled Gawain a tiny bit.
He decided it was best if he covered her back the best he could while she carried him out of the room.
He met his fair share of obstacles with his crowbar, but a few bumps and bruises for his troubles, but nothing serious.
"We gotta get some sorta routine set up, here. Gotta get organized if we want to do this without getting tore up. You alright Gawain? Look like I feel after a good night of drinking." Or fighting crime. He spotted a paperweight flying his way, and knocked it into the wall. "What's the plan?" His crowbar was already smacking into his calf repeatedly as he awaited instructions. All the while the Wolf had decided to go off alone and clear a room; Cafas, another.
He could do the same, but he figured they should at least go in pairs, in case something got the drop on one of them; this place seemed to be full of surprises.

He'd been watching.
He'd been paying attention.
The girl had proven herself worthy of a second chance.
Some might find it odd, or even slightly creepy; a full grown man spying on a little girl. Hell, he wasn't even sure if it wasn't, but if he was going to have someone fighting along side him, he had to be damn sure they were the right kind of person. Aside from her clumsy, but well meaning attempt at fighting crime, she'd spent most of her time on community service; helping the needy and the like. Not things he tended to do himself, but it was admirable.
Between bouts of fighting crime, hunting particularly vile individuals, and openly calling out a mob boss's two week notice on the news, he had been rather busy, but that didn't mean he didn't have time to take a peek at the explosive girl's activity every once in a while. Their particular activity today had just a little bit to do with the calling out of Don Vermici... Today, assuming everything went right, they would be setting the stage for his demise.
His teeth chattered under his mask for a moment before he steeled his jaw; his whole arm buzzed with energy, but he'd had much, much worse before. He didn't disperse the gathered force, though; he had to put on a show, after all.
He was waiting for the girl to leave the building she was in; he was currently atop the roof of the place across the street, standing tall and silent. A rough mental calculation told him he had enough energy to do what he had planned, all he needed now was for her to exit the building, so they could get the ball rolling.
