The X-men run missions and work together with the NYPD, striving to maintain a peaceful balance between humans and mutants. When it comes to a fight, they won't back down from protecting those who need their help.
Haven presents itself as a humanitarian organization for activists, leaders, and high society, yet mutants are the secret leaders working to protect and serve their kind. Behind the scenes they bring their goals into reality.
From the time when mutants became known to the world, SUPER was founded as a black-ops division of the CIA in an attempt to classify, observe, and learn more about this new and rising threat.
The Syndicate works to help bring mutantkind to the forefront of the world. They work from the shadows, a beacon of hope for mutants, but a bane to mankind. With their guiding hand, humanity will finally find extinction.
Since the existence of mutants was first revealed in the nineties, the world has become a changed place. Whether they're genetic misfits or the next stage in humanity's evolution, there's no denying their growing numbers, especially in hubs like New York City. The NYPD has a division devoted to mutant related crimes. Super-powered vigilantes help to maintain the peace. Those who style themselves as Homo Superior work to tear society apart for rebuilding in their own image.

"I don't know, that attack felt pretty bad, maybe I need a lie down after that. Maybe some food," teasing just a little. Honestly she was enjoying herself, enjoying the learning experience. In just a short time she'd discovered more about her power than she ever had alone. Maybe being an X-Trainee wouldn't be the worst idea.
Alice had never really thought about it, she'd just kind of accept the fact her power was weird and moved on. It did make a certain amount of sense though, what with the projecting images into other peoples heads and the whole mental connection thing. So what, she was a telepath then? No mind reading or lifting cars for this girl, just the awesome power of nerdom.
Before she could reply she was getting hit....again. OK, testing powers was one thing but seriosuly, "For f---'s sake can you stop battering me for two seconds and...." This message didn't just arrive it flashed and screamed in her head, sending her to the ground. Oh god the pain was awful, like a hive of bees had been set loose in her head.
Player - Maya has been removed from the party.
Curling up as the pain receded and not even knowing if she'd screamed. That, that had royally sucked. "P...please don't do that again. That wasn't fun."

Why was Maya impressed with her power? It was kind of lame compared to other people, hell she could walk into mirrors and basically teleport around. That was a cool power, Alice's was just, there. Always there.
It was a fair question but she really wasn't expecting to be punched causing her to jump a little from shock. Seriously could stuff stop hitting her for like two minutes? Although the next thread of thought got cut off by the sudden pop-up message in her vision.
Warning. Party Leader under attack from member - Maya . Auto-Kick enabled in case of further incident.
That was new. "Huh, never had that before, but then again the person I tested this with didn't think to hit me. Thanks for that by the way, love getting scared like that." Seriously, she'd just seen the woman knee a bot in the face, the idea of getting hit by her was scary.
"You getting this message by the way? Might be handy in case someone tries funny business in a party."

Another message and she couldn't keep the giggles from bubbling up, it was just so funny and cute how Astrid worked. She was totally innocent and naive with all of this and it was just so precious.
Wow, since when had she been such an air head around a pretty girl? So it was true she wasn't this slick and suave woman or some master flirter, but she did all right. She had some confidence, so where the hell had it gone? Oh god this was what boys felt like around their crush wasn't it. Oh the poor sods, how could they function like this?
And now she felt sorry for teenage boys. Somehow.
If someone had told her at the start of the day she would be acting like an idiot in front of someone, someone who she had kind of helped realise their sexuality, she would have laughed them off. Yet here she sat, drink in hand and being all, teen aged.
It was moderately annoying that she was just like everyone else.
That, well that sorted out the stab part of the equation, Astrid could grow freaking crystals out of her feathers and they looked wickedly sharp. Like really, really sharp. It. Was. Awesome. "Those are amazing!" So she liked them, could anyone really blame her? The way the light caught them and was sent off in glittering patterns was just so entrancing. "Have you been able to do that for long?"
Some peoples mutations were just kind of jaw dropping and the French raven's was the best she'd ever seen. Jack might look really cool and Aleksander was gorgeous but this, this was on a whole different level.
So many questions, so many things she had to know and yet she got a bad feeling. Taking a quick look around there was more than one terrified face, the waitress had gone so pale! Were, were they scared of Astrid? Why!? All she'd done was show her mutation, she hadn't done anything wrong! Bigots, there were always bigots everywhere.
"Come on, I get the feeling some people in here are going to say some nasty stuff and frankly I don't think they even deserve our presence anyway." The words were said pretty loudly, loud enough that she hoped some of them would start feeling a little guilty about it.
"Fancy going for a walk?" Offering a hand as she slowly stood, being careful to not brush agaisnt the sharp wings, she hated having people act like this. Couldn't they just get over mutations, were they really that scary?

It was pretty weird being praised for using the old groin shot in a fight context but hey, Maya seemed to have a realistic look on things. Alice couldn't fight so why not use the easiest and most painful way to screw a guy over in conflict.
"In a round about way yeah. I don't get any level details or anything from them but with the health bar I have I can see how much damage they're doing to me." Standard video game logic, if an enemy was barely dropping your health, they were usually pretty weak, at least by themselves and those guys hadn't done much. Maybe a few bruises but not much else.
"It isn't exactly how I'd like to learn that stuff though, not generally a fan of getting slapped about to see how strong someone is."
Because seriously, who actually liked that kind of stuff?
Colour Code:054288 - Alice speaks in a strong, very posh, British Accent Massive thanks to Lix for the awesome Sig!
Vanessa clearly had somewhere in mind so she happily followed along after all she had the experience with the area and who was the newbie to argue with which way they were going. She didn't have to be back at the mansion for a while so a wander would be cool.
Alice couldn't help but laugh a little at some of the boss's quips. Nice to see her online persona was entire;y for show, there was fire there in her day to day and it was pretty refreshing to see. Too many people here were off put by swearing or sarcasm, acted a bit too polite for her tastes. Even as a supposedly 'refined' English lady she loved the give and take a friendship should have, the ability to tell a friend, with all sincerity, to f--- off from time to time.
"Then I get to learn from the best. How can I become the true b----y lesbian I was meant to be without a teacher." Not that she was one, mostly. Certain people and their backwards attitudes just tended to bring it out of her. Loudly. With a lot of swearing.
Yeah, that she knew. Some of her friends already got a little jealous of her weird ability to eat and never get fat, but most didn't actually know how bad it was. "It's not like I have much choice in it. Apparently I just have some kind of super metabolism. Makes it really hard to build muscle though." Sure, she didn't work out much, but after some attempts to get healthy with no result she just gave up. Best to stick to yoga and at least get some flexibility. "But I get it, mum's the word on the food front."
Dining in the village was kind of amazing, especially considering how big the place was in LGBT history. "Hard to not be excited eating out here, even with the cost. Heard of it back home when I was doing a little reading about LGBT stuff when I was a little more aware of who I was. And thanks, for the offer. Be a bit rude to turn down the boss after all."
Oh the restaurant looked so nice and they could did sit down without having to be seated? Sweet! "Oh, it a bit of a long story. I kind of ran away from home, a little. I'm living with my grandmother while my mums away with work and we've not exactly seen eye to eye on some stuff. Like her insistence on an arranged marriage she'd set up and stuff." God it was a bit embarrassing to say it. So many people left for real reasons, like abuse or that, she was just like a spoilt girl having a tantrum compared to them.
"It got bad enough that during one of our screaming matches she dropped the knowledge bomb that I had a long lost sister. Who'd I'd never met or even been told existed. I got an ultimatum over the marriage stuff so I left. Packed up some stuff, got on a plane and came here to find my sister." It was so damn useful her power actual;y worked, finding Serena was the major reason she was here now and able to get some many opportunities like this.
Breaking eye contact and looking down at her hands, she was still a bit uncomfortable talking about it, but Nessa was kind of awesome and out of anyone she could tell, her boss was the least likely to judge her.
Colour Code:054288 - Alice speaks in a strong, very posh, British Accent Massive thanks to Lix for the awesome Sig!
Just as she was putting in the name, she got a quick text and nearly started making high pitched animal like noises with how cute it was! Astrid had sent her a little message and it was just so damn adorable! How could a girl without any experience with this be making all the right moves to capture a girls interest. Like really, was she just some kind of savant when it came to flirting?
OK, she could go really sweet and cutesy with a reply or just be simple. Simple worked, after all it had made her heart flutter like moth near a flame.
This is Alice! Glad to have your number.
That was easy enough, just be cool girl and don't make any weird sounds when she does something so inadvertently amazing. OK, maybe she could giggle, if the situation demanded it. But nothing else, at all.
Then Astrid smiled and a pleased little squeak just popped out before she could even stop it. Damnit! Was she doing this on purpose to elicit all these flaily moments? Because whatever it was it was working at making her look like a bit of an idiot and soooo un-smooth. Couldn't she, just once, get a break and look suave in front of a pretty girl, even if it wasn't true.
But no, she had to look like a complete noob with this stuff.
So they could fly! She'd thought as much but it was great to have confirmation, but what on earth did she mean they stab? They didn't look sharp, frankly they looked incredible soft and comfy. Like you could fall asleep on them. "They...stab? Do they come off or something?"
Maybe it was just a translation error, Astrid did seem to have a little trouble with English.

That was, well that was freaking awesome! Kneeing someone was cool, jumping up to do it to their face was just kind of amazing. "Wow, props for that, that was epic. And the dummies weren't too hard, once I got past the fact this place could actually hurt me. Would have been nice to know that earlier though." She wasn't exactly mad but this place was dangerous, not knowing that could have put her in danger. "They went down easy enough when I figured going for the groin was a good idea."
"The display did register my drops in health etc from them doing damage but apart from that it doesn't really give me any info. Did help me gauge how dangerous they were though, which was cool." Not a great way to learn though, being able to get a rough guess before taking a hit would be a good idea.
At least she was getting better with trusting the map in unfamiliar places with weird layouts. Not many labyrinths a person tended to navigate in normal life but she could see why it was useful, making on the fly route changes and learning how to calculate them quickly was a pretty valuable skill. And not just for all that heroing, it'd probably save her time the next time she had to take the subway.

Calm down Alice, remember the little bit of training and just take it slow. It hurt, but it wasn't taking down her health bar a lot. Easy mode, remember? Keep the hands up and take a hit whenever she could.
Okay, it was doable, she got in a few more good hits, even managed to block a kick, then wondering if they took 'critical damage' if she hit certain spots, she gave the dummy a swift kick to the groin. "That.....that worked!?"
It just, toppled over and lay on the ground. Hitting a computer programme in the nuts had actually done the job. That changed things, she could do this and confidence was a hell of a thing. Making quick progress, only needed to fight another two bots and dealing with them like before, she was getting nearer to the little blip on her map. Rounding one last corner and dodging the sight of a bot moving around she was there! No way a glorified video game got the better of her, not The Gamer.
Walking around the corner all smugness and swagger, she then got a pretty good lesson on just how little she was right now. Maya was going toe to toe with a flurry of fists and feet. What the? How could someone move that quick, worse how could a human react so quickly and easily!? "I, erm, I did it."

No amount of reassuring from Nessa would changed the fact she owed the woman. Because she did. And her mentor was awesome. "That's a no brainer boss, although now that I've been claimed I do hope you'll stop anyone else stealing me. Young, blue haired interns are a precious commodity apparently." Well, not in the video game industry, where dyed girls with tattoos and piercings were kind of everywhere. Which was awesome for her love life, just not job opportunities. "Just make sure my supervisor knows when you grab me for whatever and we should be good on that front."
The idea of working in the same building as her internet idol was one thing, now she was staring at the possibility of working with her directly. Could this internship get any better? Awesome people, awesome work and awesome kit to get her hands on. It was a techies dream.
Hmm, she was right, talking about food wasn't a great idea. Brought back her constant reminder of the fact she had to eat so much, and that her bar was getting a little low. Why, why did her power have a hunger bar? Like having a load of stuff in her vision wasn't bad enough, she had to eat enough to stun an athlete. Hopefully Nessa hadn't been taking note of how often she had been snacking on energy bars or the weird number she had in various pockets on her. It was a little embarrassing to explain.
Even if she didn't get fat from eating all the chocolate and bacon.
"I could eat, all the time. Ever." Even without her power, she was a teenager. They ate all the time, so it was fair to assume a normal one would be hungry after a day doing grunt work. "Although I'm not looking forward to cooking when I get back to Xaviers" Loving cooking was one thing, trying to do it after a full day was another.
"Why, you thinking of grabbing some takeout or something?"

Kids didn't bother her, horny teenage boys did. They were the worst. Like smelly, irritable rabbits, fixated on one thing and only one thing. Something she really didnt want to be involved in, with them at least. But what did he mean trouble? Had there been attacks at the school? "What do you mean by that? Has something bad happened up there before?" If Serena was thinking of getting her in there she had to know if it was safe. Going somewhere with a giant target painted on it was not a attractive prospect. She didn't need more reasons for people to have a go at her. Being both gay and a mutant was was enough for a large amount of bigots, adding more to the pile didn't seem wise.
Watching him move off towards the bar, it was a really interesting sight. Seeing him in all his snakiness was one thing, but actually glimpsing the way he moved, the graceful side to side swaying was awesome. A little mesmerising too, it wasn't hard to imagine why people often found snakes hypnotic. They just looked so, otherworldly, like they somehow weren't normal. Not that it was a bad thing. Not being normal was the best.
It took him a while to get served and she could only imagine it was some barman being a d--- because of what he looked like. People really were the worst sometimes. Open hatred could be dealt with, it was the quiet, creep kind she disliked more. At least someone proudly wearing their bigotry had some kind of bravery in their attitude. They didn't hide the fact they were a piece of s---. No it was the silent people, giving little excuses the 'I'm not racist but' people. They were so dishonest.
Well, he got back his drinks, eventually, and made his way back. Taking the offered drink and blushing a little in the complete lapse of manners, how could she forget to ask for a name! God her mum would kill her for being so rude. "Oh God, sorry! I'm Alice by the way." How could a well brought up English girl forget something so b----- simple! It was mortifying.

Oh this was exciting! She was getting a chance to see it's action settings in person. So cool to get a chance to check out how it all worked, how clever it could be. After all, if she was going to be making some games for the place, she had to know what it was like in person. It was all very scientific.
Alice did nearly protest at easy mode, but wisely kept her mouth shut. It might chafe to be a 'noob' here, but Maya knew better in this case. "Will do, hope the poor bots don't have feelings for when I kick their butts." Which was laughable considering her mentor was the best suited to know her combat abilities or lack thereof.
With the teacher blinking ahead, she did the smart thing, waited for her to stop, mapped a way and proceeded cautiously. With the mirrored walls and slowish speeds the bots moved at she managed to avoid a decent amount of them, recalculating her root whenever she was pushed of course. Then she fall smack bang into the open arms of one of them around a corner while she was too wrapped up in her mini-map to notice.
Good work Alice, now you have to deal with it using skills she'd literally just used. What could go wrong?
Going into the stance Maya had taught her she got a couple nice punches in until she got hit with a kick. That, that had hurt! This room could actually hurt her, what the hell!

That was true but she'd not given it much thought, she'd just assumed because it was always on it was using up a bunch of energy. Maybe along with that she had some kind of increased metabolism? Or something. Biology wasn't her strongest area of knowledge.
"You're the boss and strangely the beginning does sound like a good place to start." Couldn't let a sarcastic comment pass could you girl, had to try and show off around the big bad X man. Woman. Person.
Following her movements and trying to make sure she got the stance right and was staying balanced, she did have a little issue grasp the idea that there was a wrong way to ball a fist. Like, it was a fist, it shouldn't be that hard, but no apparently doing it wrong was bad. Breaking bones bad. Who the hell discovered this stuff? Did someone so many years ago just hit a brick wall a bunch of times and see which hurt the least?
Which also raised the point, how did people actually create martial arts stuff? Trail and error seemed a, dangerous way to do it. Maybe that's why tournaments was a thing? Who knows, but at least it didn't take them long to go through the it. She wasn't exactly unfit but she couldn't claim to be an athlete. "That was pretty fun! Didn't know exercise would actually be enjoyable."

Astrid seemed to react so weirdly to some stuff and other things were totally normal. Or just so innocent to it that it really wasn't a big deal to her. Either way she looked so pretty when she was blushing and that was something Alice was going to file away for later. Seeing her blush again was a definite goal. For totally innocent reasons.
Accepting the offered phone and quickly keying in her own number, it only took a second figure out what how to save it in contacts. It might be in french but a phone was a phone and they had pretty similar interfaces. Her's put in and checking her own phone quickly for some french translations she also had Astrids number memorised, handing the phone back to her.
Well, wasn't it usually harder to exchange numbers? At least with someone you fancied. Whatever this was going to be like between, Alice was damn sure it'd be fun.
"Ooo, grapes are nice. Never cooked with them much but I love them in fruit salads." Hard to hate grapes to be honest, they were sweet and succulent little balls of flavour. And wine. Wine was good.
Right she had a little information, a favourite food and a few plans on what she might want to make. Not too hard then, now she guessed they should just hang out have some fun? It'd be a cool way to get to know each other, maybe be a bit less awkward in their company. Being able to get through a few sentences without massive blushing or freaking out would be nice.
She was so pretty it hurt though! How had she scored a date with someone like her?
Oh she'd be squeeing so much to her friends over the next few days, chances are they'd get very sick of her talking about the french angel she'd met, who'd then asked her out.
Every little movement, every slight bob kept drawing Alice's eyes back to the wings. She had to know. "I kind of have to ask but can you fly with your wings? That'd be so cool." They were very big and she was so thin, it seemed possible and if it was, that must be so amazing. Soaring over the city, looking down on everyone below.

She was in total game mode, managing her rage and dodging whenever a particularly nasty spell came out. Thank god for monks though, the extra elemental defence made trading hits so much easier so her damage done was going through the room. Normal she had to play way more conservative with a more solo based build, so she did less damage. Now, with a second person around able to do quick damage to minions and take their agro which she'll focused down the big bullies meant they were flying through the game!
"Hmm, what?" Alice was only half aware of what Iggy had said, they were so close to killing the boss! Just a couple more strikes and........"F--- yeah, that's how it's done." Spell slinging bosses were always the worst, they moved around so much and just generally had nasty skills to deal with.
Now that they had a breather her brain register the question. "An X trainee? I dunno never really thought about it. I'm getting some training from one of them at the moment but I don't know if I'll ever join." The training was fun though, her and Maya's powers had a weird synergy for scouting.

That was the normal reaction but at least she wasn't hating her for it. It sounded awesome, being able to eat anything and keep the same weight but it sucked. Hard. She had to plan any trip so far in advance it was silly and the cost! Oh the cost. Once she was a student there would be so much rice eaten, simply to feed the bar.
"Yep, I go through so many energy bars a normal person would probably start flying." But they were high calorie, which was kind of nice, she didn't need eat too many and they were easy enough to force down her face when she was feeling ill.
That wasn't something she had ever tested but something about considering the question made her just kind of have a hunch it didn't. "I've never found one, but I guess that doesn't mean it's not there. I do get a, I don't know, feeling that it doesn't? Like thinking about it my brain is just telling me no. If that makes any kind of sense." It didn't really but maybe the older woman had more experience in how powers worked.
Not that hers actually made sense but hey, experience might having something to offer her. Maybe. Hopefully.
