"Awww that's probably the nicest thing you've said to me Em," she joke. It was true, clearly, but of course they were all made in good fun. Very British fun too since it consisted of barbs, bile and acid tongued remarks which was frankly he most fun friendship she had going for the time being.

Responding with a grin she let the matter lie. Best way to keep having fun with that knowledge was to use it sparingly.

"You know, you'd be surprised how damn useful that is, especially around people being interested in you. I wish I could count the number of times I have either missed flirting or been flirting with a girl who was clearly not interested. Or straight." Too many straight girls flirted with in her history, which in her defense wasn't exactly her fault when it was at a gay bar.

"Hey there Darlin's," the man drawled, giving them both a professional once over and nodding when he realised that sure, they were underage but they wouldn't cause trouble and weren't bringing anything dodgy in, "and you know me Downton, always dressed to impress."

Rolling her eyes at the nickname, she glanced past him and saw it was about as busy as she'd expected which meant easy to get drinks. "So I'm guessing it's not heaving given your fetching ensemble, you mind a couple of expats joining you lot?"

"Thanks Serena, I'll keep that in mind." Having someone to talk to would be pretty useful, especially given her sister had completed uni not that long ago. Her mum had some useful advice but most of it was a little dated and didn't quite match her own preferences to say the least.

F**k yeah it took up too much time but apparently her protests had so far fallen on deaf ears. Alice suspected some meddling from her mum to 'keep her safe' but she hadn't been able to prove it. That or Maya/Gawain was just bad at taking no for an answer when it came to stopping teenagers getting hurt. "Damn right it does. Barely had the time to one hundred percent my last couple of rpg's and I've still not done my placements in Hall of Hero's."

Sure it'd be a lot of work but given some of the things they already had in there it didn't seem like much of a stretch to her. She also wasn't much of a coder, most of her stuff was pretty basic and made to run electronics so nothing complex. "Still, I'd love to get my hands on it, play around with some programming in a closed system to figure out how it rigs things up. Oh and checking out the guts of it. You have to swing that the next time they're doing maintenance. I have to know what makes it tick."

"Oh come on, I'm sure it wouldn't be that bad." Yeah, supplying a minor with alcohol wasn't a real crime, like stealing or murder. And America was stupid with their laws and weirdness, "besides I am many things but stupid isn't one of them. I think I can keep booze unwraps for all of the month or so I have left living in the mansion."

"Definitely, I mean the people are kind of a plus and access to some of the best gay clubs in the world has to be near top of the list." So many clubs. So many girls. So much bad flirting to do. "I get why you like it here though. Feels kind of alive, the city I mean."

"I dunno but I guess it probably has something to do with the mind behind the monster and the creepy obsession men seem to have with virgin girls." Which was very questionable in her eyes, wanting to sleep with 'pure' or 'untainted' women. Also stupid. Real stupid. Doing anything was always more fun if both people actually knew what and how to make it more fun. Shrugging she added, "then again they're pretty weird about women in general so......"

OK, little bit metaphysical for a joke but at least Skye actually thought about stuff. Like genuinely it seemed. Alice, well she didn't really know, or care, what she believed at the moment. All that big stuff was kind of not her problem when she had real stuff to deal with. Like cute girls. Cute colour changing girls.

"Oh god yeah, they at least know how to get freaky. And are pretty plain about it which is refreshing for some of those stories." They also were weirdly woman power, in a way. Sure, Alice hadn't read many old legends around the fae but there were a lot of powerful female's throwing about. "Although they are more likely to mess with you in the, none insanity breaking kind of way at least."

Yeah, Skye's power sounded awesome. One woman disco ball, with added boom if someone pissed her off. Which she had heard of actually. From someone she knew. Was it Maya/Gawain during training? Or it might have been one of her classmates but she had trouble placing where. "Ah, so you're that one. Heard something about a walking flash-bang but never thought they'd be this cute."

Which Skye was. Especially with the funky hair. Which, big surprise, the girl with dyed hair found attractive.

"Don't know how bad my rep is around here but I'm the gamer. Like literally. Had a HUD, minimap, hunger bar, the whole nine yards. Can even form parties which is an experience."

Raising one eyebrow at that comment she store it away for use later. Either the girl was innocent enough to not realise what she had just implied, or she wasn't and had just implied something very interesting. Which Alice wasn't now thinking about. Because that would be rude.

Yeah, no thoughts at all.

Grinning, "Good to know you get it, why have a virgin when you can get something far more bad for your health and definitely all liquored up. Adding alcohol makes everything better." Alice was flirting. Well at least she thought she was flirting with the girl, who was flirting back. Probably. Maybe. "Just don't expect a place in heaven anymore, with how decadent it is, there has to be something evil in it's construction.

"Yeah, it's a bit of a body breaker but christ is it good." Taking a big bite of her own she revelled in the weird and wonderful mix of flavours. She was kind of surprised the mansion actually had so much terrible food to hand given it was a school but maybe it was a mutant thing. Her metabolism was weird so made sense others had similar issues.

"Ah that's only if I gave you my true name," she laughed, "and you definitely fit more in with the fey. Bit too brightly coloured for deep, dark nasties." Shaking the hand a little lighter than she might normal she was surprised the glowing didn't translate into some kind of physical sensation. "Speaking of I have to ask, whats the glowsticks? I like a rave as much as the next girl but that a little bit more dedicated than most," she teased, nodding her head at the light coming of Skye.

Drinking alone? Did Marisol do that? Well, apparently yes but did she normally do that, that was the question.

Wait did that mean she had more booze to drink? Score.

Giving her friend a sour look, "About as good as normal. Either I'm hitting up the wrong places or I give off the wrong vibe," she complained, crawling over the back of the sofa and popping herself down with as much grace as a drunk person can. Which was to say she landed about as well as a pig on a frozen lake. "I just, I am being too desperate or something? Because I know I'm not bad looking but I haven't had so much as a snog. Let alone.....other things."

Kicking off her shoes and striping off her jacket she curled up facing her friend before nodding to the wine bottle. "Any of that left dear? Definitely feeling a consolation drink is needed." Well, she more needed a consolation f**k but that wasn't really how their friendship worked. Because that would be weird right? And totally not possible because Mari was her best friend and you don't sleep with best friends.

She was very pretty. In their flat. Alone. Together. What was she doing again?

"Non quite so nerdy as me though dear and I will fight on that." OK so maybe she was exaggerating a little on that but she couldn't imagine too many of them. She kind of hit the trifecta with the games, the tech and the costumes that it would take a lot to beat her one that. but the clubs did interest her. "Although I could do to know more about the groups I might want to join. Might be worth looking in on them before I go so I have a decent idea."

Sighing, she reckoned she'd have to do a least a little volunteering. Even with intern stuff she knew her CV wasn't exactly stellar so adding some big name non profit to it would get her noticed a little. "If I were to do some volunteer work how exactly would I arrange that other than, well calling ones up to find openings?" There had to be a more efficient method right, like some kind of site or board with people putting open positions up?

Or she just abuse the family connection. That also worked.

"I'm sure that is the only thing we will look into dear. Nothing untoward at all," she remarked with a grin. So she was messing with the new girl, who was also her friend, like that was unusual for her.

So it was pretty awesome having a club pretty much round the corner. In the village. Because Alice could chill with some wine for pre-drinks, have something nice to eat before even needing to consider getting changed and she could still get there before it was packed. It was so convenient  and made her recreational time way less stressful. No worryng about bus times, sneaking in to avoid being caught by a guard or even having to worry about someone noticing she was gone and calling in the hounds to get her.

It was great.

Except when it wasn't. Because despite her best efforts and some frankly stunning flirting from herself she had still not gotten very far with a girl there. It might have had something to do with her being generally bad with people and maybe the lines had been pretty bad but part of it had to be her look. Skinny jeans, a loose black tank-top and depending on the night a denim or leather jacket and she more looked like she was trying to sell certain things to the party goers than just being out for a good time. Alice knew she was good looking enough and she certainly got enough attention that her chances shouldn't be terrible but somehow she could never quite 'seal the deal'. Even the supposed love for English accents she kept getting everywhere damn else didn't translate to so much as a makeout.

So after another night of drinking and getting increasingly frustrated with her lack of ability to get herself laid she walked/stumbled her way back to her flat in the hopes of finishing off some drinks and maybe consoling herself with some of the ice cream she'd recently gotten.

Humming one of the songs that had been playing to herself and managing to get her key in and turned on only the second try she swung the door open with as much grace and quiet a girl in her condition could. Which was to say it made a f**king racket. Both ways, even if she was trying harder as it closed in an attempt not to make Mari.

Who was staring at her. From the sofa. In not not much. Again.

"Oh shit sorry Mari," she began, only slightly slurring her words, "didn't think I'd wake you. Or that you'd be up." Blinking a little slowly she spotted the wine and gave her friend a grin, "Although it looks like you also wanted to enjoy the morning hangover this time."
