The X-men run missions and work together with the NYPD, striving to maintain a peaceful balance between humans and mutants. When it comes to a fight, they won't back down from protecting those who need their help.
Haven presents itself as a humanitarian organization for activists, leaders, and high society, yet mutants are the secret leaders working to protect and serve their kind. Behind the scenes they bring their goals into reality.
From the time when mutants became known to the world, SUPER was founded as a black-ops division of the CIA in an attempt to classify, observe, and learn more about this new and rising threat.
The Syndicate works to help bring mutantkind to the forefront of the world. They work from the shadows, a beacon of hope for mutants, but a bane to mankind. With their guiding hand, humanity will finally find extinction.
Since the existence of mutants was first revealed in the nineties, the world has become a changed place. Whether they're genetic misfits or the next stage in humanity's evolution, there's no denying their growing numbers, especially in hubs like New York City. The NYPD has a division devoted to mutant related crimes. Super-powered vigilantes help to maintain the peace. Those who style themselves as Homo Superior work to tear society apart for rebuilding in their own image.

Boredom was an understatement. Today was one of those days where Emily was busy, and it had been one of those nights where they'd actually slept separately. Their relationship was sweet and innocent at this point, but Skye was quite happy with what they had. As it stood though, it was going to be a long day. She'd grown so used to having Emily around that on the days where they didn't see each other often, Skye didn't know what to do with herself.
Hanging out in her room didn't work, so the girl found herself in the living area, sprawled across an entire couch with her phone in across her chest, a handheld game in her hands. She was playing some RPG, her mohawk hanging over the armrest as her head was practically upside down, the game right above her face in that precarious position where if she fell asleep it was going to land right on her face. But she wasn't sleepy yet. Not at all. Just bored.
To signify this, her hair was a light blue, as light blue lights radiated from her palms, lighting up her face as she stared blankly into the screen.
Currently, she was wearing a black tee shirt, the front adorned with a cutesy rainbow-skull; she'd grown quite fond of that aesthetic lately. She wore a matching pair of black jeans that were lined with little studs and chains, and this was topped off with a pair of black converses laced with rainbow laces, because of course they were. Her arms sported black studded wristbands, and her signature choker with the metallic rainbow-skull completed the outfit.
Her mind wandered as she gazed up into her game. She still wasn't very into it, it was just something to do. Her eyes drifted closed and the inevitable happened as she drifted off to sleep, and her grip loosened on the game.
Smack!
"Sonofa--" Skye groaned as the game smacked her cheek and she sat up, looking to see if anyone saw before turning off the game and pulling out her phone, idly looking at some social media site.

Since she'd finished an hour in the danger room and was still dealing with post work out shower hair Alice reckoned she could nab some food and chill for a bit. Nothing sucked more about winter weather than heading outside with a damp head and just having that cold feeling sink deep in. Christ even just thinking about it was making her cold.
Dressed in her standard skinny blue jeans and one of her favourite tees, a stylised screaming wolf head on a black background, she idly rubbed at one of her ear piercings and wondered if she should just take them out when she headed for home. It was an absolute faff to take them all out just to put them all back in when she got back home but having freezing cold metal in her ear when the temperature kept dipping below 0oC was also pretty damn annoying. Made her reconsider some of her plans for other piercings as well if it was this much effort.
Wandering into the main living room with some unholy abomination masquerading as a sandwich she'd constructed she had very nearly climbed over the back of the sofa like normal when she heard the smack of something hitting skin.
That was nearly awkward, climbing into a strangers lap was a little bit much even for her, even if the voice sounded like it was attached to someone she'd be interested in. Leaning over and resting her elbows on the back of the chair she saw a very interesting girl lying full length. Who she totally checked out because of course she did.
Very interesting indeed. "Having a little trouble there dear?" she asked with a small smile.Catching someone in the middle of an embarrassing slip was always the best way to meet them.

Skye's hair and lights flickered to green as the voice startled her, and then settled into an embarrassed purple. "Shit, uh...no, I'm fine..." she stammered, sitting up and not making eye contact with the newcomer. "I was just playing a game and I guess I'm more tired than I thought I was.." A blush tinted her face as she rubbed the pink spot on her cheek where the game made impact. Yeah, that was probably going to bruise.
After a few moments, the lights became a slow pulse as the embarrassment slowly started to subside, and she turned to actually look at the other girl. Normally, Skye would have noticed someone checking her out, but something was off today. Maybe her mindset was different now, or maybe she was just that tired and out of it, or maybe she was just flustered from having a game dropped on her face.
Regaining her momentum, she looked at the girl with a smirk; or...more specifically, at her food. "Nice sandwich," she teased, her hair flicking to a happy, playful orange. "Who made it for you, Dr. Seuss?"

So the hair changed colour. That was.......new. And bright. Very bright. Along with the hands that also glowed, which she'd kind of assumed was the phone screen to start with but with them matching the shift in colours of the hair she made a fair guess they were connected. For some reason. "Evidently, unless you make a habit from headbutting your devices."
The girls was cute, and she kind of rocked the Mohawk with the shifting hair colour going on. "No way he could come up with something this terrifying." Pointing at each layer, "chocolate, peanut butter, cinnamon bananas, marshmallow, jam and topped with mascarpone. Green eggs and ham can eat it's bloody heart out."
Truly it had more been constructed than any true culinary term. It was a monster. And delicious.
Alice had been about to take a bite but since the other girl was interested she thought she might as well offer some. Not like she was going to finish it in one go. "Why, are you wanting some? Best damn heart attack you'll ever taste."

"What I do in my spare time is really none of your business," she joked dryly before adding "No. I don't normally headbutt, nor drop games on my face for fun. I feel like I'd probably have more dents in my head if I did."
Skye chuckled."You're right. It's more like if Dr. Seuss and Lovecraft got together and came up with that ****," she said, sitting back on the sofa and giving a shrug as she relaxed a good bit, despite her cheek still being a bit tender. Okay, describing the sandwich...it was actually...enticing; much like a deal with an eldritch god, it would most definitely bite you in the ass later but....it was intriguing.
And then...came the offer. Skye looked at the sandwich, then at the girl, then back at the monstrosity. "You know what...you have piqued my interest," she said, the purple slowly fading into a content indigo. "If you're willing to share, then I think I would like to try some, yes." She gave a nod. So she'd be selling her soul to a sandwich, it seemed. Somehow, though, that made perfect sense, all things considered.

Oooo, the girl had a little fire in her. Good, she only had one friend who could keep up with her in that regard and she was English. Didn't really count since that's how most people back home bonded. "Of course not, we certainly wouldn't want dents in that pretty face of your now would we," Alice shot back with a grin.
Laughing she had to admit, it do look and sound like something only a mad god could summon up. Or at least provide the inspiration for it since it clearly wasn't a sane mind that came up with it. "I mean, it probably would serve as a pretty decent sacrifice to one of the Old Ones. Tastier than a virgin any day."
Of course her companion was tempted, it was kind of hard to not want to try the sandwich even if it was out of some sense of morbid curiosity. Nodding she cut off a decent size chunk before offering it over, "Feel free, I can always make more when I get home." Which was true, but she'd probably just polish of some ice-cream. Way easier to clean up afterwards. "Names Alice by the way, figured you might want to know the name of the person offering you weaponised sugar."

She laughed slightly, a smirk teasing her lips as she looked over at the other girl, her hair and lights slowly fading to orange. "True though I've probably got enough dents on the top of my head to make up for the lack of the ones on my face," she said with a shrug, not really thinking about the 'headboard implications' of that joke; she was tired and her head was still a little groggy. But the prospect of actually having someone else to talk to was appealing; for someone as outgoing and bubbly as Skye was it was a wonder she didn't have more friends than she did.
"Of course that'd be more appealing; it's different. Besides, virgins are boring," she said with a roll of her eyes. "Like if you want fun you mix up a cocktail and leave the bottle of water in the fridge." She smiled as she was handed a piece of the monstrosity that was the subject of their conversation.
"Thanks," she said, taking a small, inquisitive bite from the sandwich. "Okay so I just got thirty-seven cavities from just biting it but...that's actually good," she commented with another smile as she took another bite. She smirked again at the introduction, the area around her still bathing in the happy orange light.
"Alice, huh? Don't you know to never give your name with Old Ones are involved?" she teased, then blinked. "Or was that Fey...?" She gave a quizitive look, then stretched out a glowing orange hand to shake. "Skye."

Raising one eyebrow at that comment she store it away for use later. Either the girl was innocent enough to not realise what she had just implied, or she wasn't and had just implied something very interesting. Which Alice wasn't now thinking about. Because that would be rude.
Yeah, no thoughts at all.
Grinning, "Good to know you get it, why have a virgin when you can get something far more bad for your health and definitely all liquored up. Adding alcohol makes everything better." Alice was flirting. Well at least she thought she was flirting with the girl, who was flirting back. Probably. Maybe. "Just don't expect a place in heaven anymore, with how decadent it is, there has to be something evil in it's construction.
"Yeah, it's a bit of a body breaker but christ is it good." Taking a big bite of her own she revelled in the weird and wonderful mix of flavours. She was kind of surprised the mansion actually had so much terrible food to hand given it was a school but maybe it was a mutant thing. Her metabolism was weird so made sense others had similar issues.
"Ah that's only if I gave you my true name," she laughed, "and you definitely fit more in with the fey. Bit too brightly coloured for deep, dark nasties." Shaking the hand a little lighter than she might normal she was surprised the glowing didn't translate into some kind of physical sensation. "Speaking of I have to ask, whats the glowsticks? I like a rave as much as the next girl but that a little bit more dedicated than most," she teased, nodding her head at the light coming of Skye.

"I never understood the whole virgin sacrifice thing, she replied with a small shrug. "Why would ancient, all powerful beings demand something so....boring? Exactly. You'd think the old ones would want something a little less vanilla. And alcohol. Alcohol is nice."
Skye laughed shaking her orange-mohawked head. "I think heaven is objective. Like, I believe that heaven or hell is what you make it. Here. Not something to dream of--or dread--when you die. Personally I think that sort of ruins the point of life. If all you're worried about is what comes after....what's the point?" Another shrug as she took another healthy--or unhealthy--bite of sandwich. There was alot going on there, but she had to admit...it was pretty freaking awesome. She really had been trying to eat healthier to accompany her training, but...today could be a free day, right? Of course.
"True, true. Fake names are always an option with dealing with Fae. Though...I do see how I'm definitely more Fae. Bright, colorful, a lot less intimidating. And again, we already stated that virgins are boring." She leaned back against the couch, eating more of the sandwich as she relaxed after the handshake. Her hand felt normal, there was nothing odd about it except from the fact that her palms served as a light source. The color went from orange to indigo after a moment or two as she finished her bit of sandwich--quite handily.
"Oh that? It does spice up a party, but it's not something I can turn off. I'm learning to control it, but the colors are tied to my emotions. Orange is generally happy, right now, I'm comfortable. Content," she explained. "When overwhelmed with a negative emotion...I sort of...explode in a sense. You uh...might have heard about that if you've been around more than a month or so," she said with a slightly nervous laugh. "My emotions went haywire recently and....so did my powers."

"I dunno but I guess it probably has something to do with the mind behind the monster and the creepy obsession men seem to have with virgin girls." Which was very questionable in her eyes, wanting to sleep with 'pure' or 'untainted' women. Also stupid. Real stupid. Doing anything was always more fun if both people actually knew what and how to make it more fun. Shrugging she added, "then again they're pretty weird about women in general so......"
OK, little bit metaphysical for a joke but at least Skye actually thought about stuff. Like genuinely it seemed. Alice, well she didn't really know, or care, what she believed at the moment. All that big stuff was kind of not her problem when she had real stuff to deal with. Like cute girls. Cute colour changing girls.
"Oh god yeah, they at least know how to get freaky. And are pretty plain about it which is refreshing for some of those stories." They also were weirdly woman power, in a way. Sure, Alice hadn't read many old legends around the fae but there were a lot of powerful female's throwing about. "Although they are more likely to mess with you in the, none insanity breaking kind of way at least."
Yeah, Skye's power sounded awesome. One woman disco ball, with added boom if someone pissed her off. Which she had heard of actually. From someone she knew. Was it Maya/Gawain during training? Or it might have been one of her classmates but she had trouble placing where. "Ah, so you're that one. Heard something about a walking flash-bang but never thought they'd be this cute."
Which Skye was. Especially with the funky hair. Which, big surprise, the girl with dyed hair found attractive.
"Don't know how bad my rep is around here but I'm the gamer. Like literally. Had a HUD, minimap, hunger bar, the whole nine yards. Can even form parties which is an experience."

"Yeah, something like that," she said with a roll of her eyes. "Don't really get it. On the one hand society encourages you to be a virgin, but on the other those are the ones that end up sacrificed. Wait...maybe those things are connected on purpose!" she joked, a wicked grin spreading across her face. "Question is, are they secretly trying to stockpile sacrifices or is it reverse psychology?"
Skye shrugged. "All I really know about Fae are what lore I pick up from the occasional fantasy movie or the quite frequent fantasy RPG, if I'm being honest," she admitted. "I mean, Fae could break your sanity, but unlike the Eldritch Gods, at least you'll be having hella fun in the meantime." Another laugh, and Skye's mind wandered to the actual context of the conversation. They were just two girls talking, nothing implied here, right? Exactly. Besides, how often did the subject of gods and sacrifices come up? Answer: Not often enough, and it was something Skye was actually interested in.
"Well, nobody thought I was cute when I went through that depressive phase post-breakup," she said with a sad shrug, the lights flickering to blue. "Though after a few times, it did get people the hell out of my way. No line for the bathroom, free reign of the kitchen, instant use of the laundry room..." She had to admit, those had been pretty nice perks.
"I think I've vaguely heard of that, yeah," she answered with a nod, relaxing back on the couch as her hair reverted back to its peaceful indigo.

"Maybe a little of both to be honest. Some otherworldly beings do need to lighten up on the sacrifices or at least be a little less picky because Christ they are a pain to hunt, I mean shop for," she responded, pretending to look guilty as if she'd given away some great secret. "If they just wanted chocolates and booze like normal gods everything would be simple."
"Sometimes, although in older stuff they are a bit more beneficial ironically. Well some of them. Kind of. A little." Considering it she didn't actually know of many outright helpful fae, not with her own admittedly small pool of knowledge, but she knew of a couple. "But yeah, can't say I wouldn't mind some literally mind blowing fun with one of queens or nobles." Always perfect in the stories, perfect and wild if the legends had anything to say about it.
Alice very seriously doubted that, even depressed she didn't imagine Skye was any less attractive. "I'll be honest, that is really hard to believe. I mean yeah, people are stupid and the benefit of people avoiding you is cool but anyone who didn't see you were awesome clearly weren't looking very hard."
Way to lay it on thick, Alice. No way that could come across as weird.
"Well it's about as useful as it sound. In that it isn't. And it blocks my vision which is real sweet when cars are a thing." IT had some up sides but mostly it was just a headache for her. Either getting in the way or stopping her from sleeping. "I will say though being able to eat this," gesturing with her monster snack, "guilt free is a little bit cool."

Skye laughed; this chick was quite interesting, that was for sure. "Yeah, but some gods just have to be complicated, and that's why nobody worships them anymore," she said pointedly with a sagelike nod.
"Well, sort of. Fae always have some sort of ulterior motives, and are known as the more mischievous beings. Though...who wouldn't sell their soul for a wild time with a Fey? Honestly." She smirked and brushed a strand of indigo hair out of her face.
Her face saddened a bit as the indigo lightened to a more somber blue. "Maybe, but at the time that's what it felt like. I was in a dark place, and to be fair the more explosive part of my power isn't anything to sneeze at." She relaxed into the couch, closing her eyes for a moment as the lights darkened, back to that shade of content comfort. She was glad she was getting the hang of that again.
"Damn, that does sound like it can suck. At least if nothing else I always provide ambient lighting?" with a giggle, she took another bite of her piece of sandwich. And another. And another, slowly making her way through it. "Well that makes one of us. I felt guilty just looking at it but...I'll face the consequences later." She giggled as she continued making her way through the monstrosity, eventually finishing it.
