The X-men run missions and work together with the NYPD, striving to maintain a peaceful balance between humans and mutants. When it comes to a fight, they won't back down from protecting those who need their help.
Haven presents itself as a humanitarian organization for activists, leaders, and high society, yet mutants are the secret leaders working to protect and serve their kind. Behind the scenes they bring their goals into reality.
From the time when mutants became known to the world, SUPER was founded as a black-ops division of the CIA in an attempt to classify, observe, and learn more about this new and rising threat.
The Syndicate works to help bring mutantkind to the forefront of the world. They work from the shadows, a beacon of hope for mutants, but a bane to mankind. With their guiding hand, humanity will finally find extinction.
Since the existence of mutants was first revealed in the nineties, the world has become a changed place. Whether they're genetic misfits or the next stage in humanity's evolution, there's no denying their growing numbers, especially in hubs like New York City. The NYPD has a division devoted to mutant related crimes. Super-powered vigilantes help to maintain the peace. Those who style themselves as Homo Superior work to tear society apart for rebuilding in their own image.

Ahem. Dear populace of the wastelands of the future, I come to you with a question. How would you all feel about a Cafas triggered catastrophe being the trigger for everyone to, uh, wake up I guess is what we're going with. I was thinking something like a nuke but, well, more Cafas-y (those just as fissiony) Just seeing if anyone is opposed to the idea, still gonna have to put it past the mods, but the general thinking is large body of metal all goes critical mass and nukes out, obliterates what is left of the city, wakes everybody up from their dream. So yeah, anyone wanna chime in on this one?
Due to a getting a new job (and Diablo III launching) I missed a bunch of this thread and am currently skimming it. That said I'd like to get involved in it, and I see groups forming if anyone wants a former special operator with them.
Would there be a chance for new natural disasters in this Apocalyptic world? Things that have happened due to the nuclear fallout but everyone's gotten use to it and it is just a daily task to survive them. Like say acid rain from contaminated water in the atmosphere or fallout sandstorms that carry high amounts of radiation in the air from the radioactive material it picks up.

I especially like the idea of acid rainstorms. That could make the quest for survival even more desperate and make it imperative to actually have proper shelter. I'm imagining some of the more poorly constructed houses and other buildings slowly getting dissolved by the acid rain with holes in the roofs and walls of some buildings out outright inoperative roofs of others. Depending on the severity, it could also make other necessities of living more scarce as things stored within many of the poorer houses and other buildings would never survive.

I am totally throwing both Gwen and Kate into this. Kate is totally going to fall to her darker side and join the amazons as a fire manceing bad ass. No more prim and proper English Lady but a hard definition of 'If you touch the fire you're gonna get burned.'
I am btw all for the mid June thing. By then I should have my own computer back at work and can post form there as well as be almost out of the dance year so no more rehearsals. By then I will just be down to the every day annoyances.
So, just so I don't forget, Allison will be giving all the Amazons royalty and court-themed nickname titles. Whether they'll be used or not outside of her head and occasional comments I have no idea. Certain two so far are Queen Maxine and Lady Chameleon (for Dahlia). Any other Amazons want particular titles?
*kind of wants Allison to spot Maxine from the other side of the street or something after waking up and react by yelling "Queen Maxine!" as loudly as she can and running over*
*edits* War parasols for the Amazons? ...Actually, now I'm thinking that war parasols might just become a really common thing in the future....
