The X-men run missions and work together with the NYPD, striving to maintain a peaceful balance between humans and mutants. When it comes to a fight, they won't back down from protecting those who need their help.
Haven presents itself as a humanitarian organization for activists, leaders, and high society, yet mutants are the secret leaders working to protect and serve their kind. Behind the scenes they bring their goals into reality.
From the time when mutants became known to the world, SUPER was founded as a black-ops division of the CIA in an attempt to classify, observe, and learn more about this new and rising threat.
The Syndicate works to help bring mutantkind to the forefront of the world. They work from the shadows, a beacon of hope for mutants, but a bane to mankind. With their guiding hand, humanity will finally find extinction.
Since the existence of mutants was first revealed in the nineties, the world has become a changed place. Whether they're genetic misfits or the next stage in humanity's evolution, there's no denying their growing numbers, especially in hubs like New York City. The NYPD has a division devoted to mutant related crimes. Super-powered vigilantes help to maintain the peace. Those who style themselves as Homo Superior work to tear society apart for rebuilding in their own image.

So since Thanksgiving is coming up I figure that maybe we could do a Thanksgiving Themed thread where something occurs on the streets of New York. Now I don't have the full details of thread yet thought up, but I do have a couple of ideas that I think might be fun. So I'll just post them up here and if anyone is interested well, we'll take it from there:
1) Sooo Much Fooooood![/u] - Its the day before thanksgiving and a famous TV chef is having a special on how to cook a wonderful Thanksgiving meal. Unfortunately this man, to calm his jitters, accidentally takes M. While on his live program, his powers develop which are Hyponotically Suggestive. What I'm think is that he ends his show by saying something like "So remember have a wonderful Thanksgiving and eat everything in sight!!" This of course starts the whole city into a crazy of people running around, eating literally everything in sight...maybe even...each other >.> <.<. Just a thought.
2) Rise of the Turkeys[/u] - I'm thinking that for this thread there should be a mutant who’s ability is that he looks like a turkey and that he has the power called “Call of the Turkey” in which, with his mighty gobble, he summons wild turkeys and even defrosted dead ones, to rise up and fight back against being devoured. Of course hilarity will ensue as man challenges turkey.
3) Turk-zilla! – Giant Turkey (wild or reanimated and mutated frozen one) begins to attack the city of New York! It’s…carving…time…
So those are just some ideas. If anyone else has ideas, I’m down for that. Just thought I’d see if anyone was interested.

I vote Turk-zilla! >:3 Or perhaps, multiple Turk-zilla's? Oh, oh-- OR, animate parade baloons from the Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade that go rogue and try to... I dunno, run away, or something.
... Just some brain-drabbles right there, couldn't help myself...
Oh gawd, Turkey-headed Vicente. Do it, do it, do it!
LOL so far everyone seems to love Turkzilla! I must say it is an interesting idea for myself as well.
And actually, Gina, I had considered the Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade too! But I could not figure a good plot. So far I love your suggestion of the balloons trying to get away. There's nothing to say that we cannot combine the two ideas. Maybe the same mutant that creates Turkzilla can also animate the Macy's Day balloons? Just an idea.
For your first idea with the Cheff. It's too bad that Halloween has just passed. For some reason I could see that leading into an MRO style creation of Zombies. You know how a lot of films hand wave over how zombies are created, well there you go. It can be our fault. a mutants. I can see the quote now. "Go find yourself some fresh head cheese." Witch would be of course what our zombies would moan instead of brainz.
(I'm also aware that there are already some Zombie threads in the works.)
As far as the turkeys falling from the sky, is anyone familiar with WKRP in cincinnati and their Thanks giving day special?
I am so game. Lydia will be so confused and mutation-less. Turkzilla sounds amazing, although I wouldn't be adverse to some undead frozen turkeys running around either.
