Mutations Mutation description: Telekinesis: Tyler is a telekinetic mutant. When using his telekinetic abilities, an aura surrounds the object being acted upon. This aura appears to be a distorted image of whatever happens to be behind the object. There is also an additional, yet faint, glowing aura that is a deep violet blue in color. This aura is usually around 6 inches thick. In addition to this aura, thin tentacle-like appendages with the same form as the aura stretch from Tyler’s body to the object being acted upon. In other words, the tentacles are what move the objects. The only time this aura does not appear is when it is being used on a living thing.
Strengths: - He can lift up to 25 lbs. of organic and inorganic matter.
- When using Telekinesis, no aura will surround a living or dead creature, making it seem more like the object is doing whatever it is—that he is making them do—all on their own.
Weaknesses: - The higher the weight of the object that is to be moved, the slower it will be moved.
- The aura around the object being influenced (not including living or dead creatures) is very easily noticeable to anyone he may try to sneak attack.
- If someone manages to disrupt Tyler’s Telekinesis while he is trying to move an object or person, it will cause him to suffer a horrible migraine that will prevent him from using Telekinesis for an hour.
- If he uses Telekinesis to help in hand to hand combat for 12 minutes, he will suffer a headache; any other uses after 15 minutes without a 10 minute interval, he will fall unconscious and will not be able to use Telekinesis for 5 hours.
Secondary mutation description: Strengths: Weaknesses: Fighting Style Explanation: Capoeira: Brazilian Dance Fighting. Formerly a mere art form, Capoeira is a fighting style that contains martial arts, sports, and music. It is primarily known for its swift and intricate kicks and leg sweeps and other acrobatic moves. As Tyler is only an aluno, or student, in this style of fighting, he still has a lot to learn and master, but he is likely to improve with time.
Pros for fighting style: - Capoeira can be quite unpredictable and some moves are difficult to block.
Cons for fighting style: - Some moves are wide and a bit dramatic, which leaves him open for a hit and sometimes easy to block.

History of Your Character Tyler was born in West Atlantic City, New Jersey. His father was a native to Peru and his mother was Brazilian, but didn’t actually live in Brazil. All in all, Tyler’s family seemed to love him and cared for him like any parent would their child. As the years went on, however, and the mutant issue began to sweep the nation, family ties began to strain. Other family members in Tyler’s life were revealed to be mutants, much to Tyler and his parents’ surprise. His mother was more than happy to find out that she was related to mutants. She was very comfortable with the idea of mutant equality among non-mutants. His father, on the other hand, was a fairly known anti-mutant activist. Tyler was stuck in the middle, but was a bit more accepting than his father. As such, Tyler and his mother were closer than he and his father. Their support for the mutants always had to be in secret as Tyler’s father was also known for his temper.
Throughout the years, Tyler’s mother decided that Tyler needed to learn some self-defense just incase his father got too physical with his anger (though Tyler couldn’t really bring himself to try and hurt his father). As such, she tapped into her family roots and began to teach Tyler the Brazilian Dance Fighting style known as Capoeira. She began teaching him when he was a freshman in high school and he is doing well for a beginner, but he still had quite a bit to learn. As a result of realizing that Tyler had a great deal of interest in Capoeira, she began to take him to a well-known teacher in New York who taught Capoeira in extraneous detail. Despite his current situation, he still goes to develop this fighting style. He finds it quite useful and fun.
When Tyler enrolled in kindergarten, the first thing that caught his attention was a game known as soccer (or as his father and mother called it: football). Tyler was enlisted in the local team as soon as possible and appeared to be a fairly good member. He played soccer for many years, all the way through to his senior year in high school. However, when he was fourteen, a rather extraordinary event occurred. His team lost the spring championships his freshmen year, much to the disappointment of his father. Well…not so much disappointment as horrific rage. His father took to hitting Tyler, not hard enough to cause any serious damage, but enough to causes dark bruises and break a rib or two. During this little beat-down, something flared up inside Tyler. Just as his father was preparing to give him a final kick to the stomach, Tyler looked up at a lamp and before he knew it, the lamp flew off the side table and slammed into his father’s chest. This random occurrence didn’t so much hurt his father as scare him. He became horrified as he realized that his only son was a mutant.
As a result, Tyler’s father abandoned them (seeing as Tyler’s mother refused to leave her son despite being a mutant). Much to the surprise of Tyler and his mother, the father (who now claims to have no son) did not reveal Tyler’s secret to anyone, most likely out of shame. As such, Tyler took advantage of his silence and resumed school, soccer, and Capoeira. After finally graduating his final year in high school, he and his mother began doing some research, trying to confirm the rumors of a school for mutants. According to the little bits and pieces they have gathered, the school teaches the students things they need for the outside world as well as teaching the students how to enhance and control their powers.
Finally, it was his mother that hit the bull’s-eye. The school was located in New York, fairly close to where his Capoeira instructor taught. The night of their discovery, Tyler packed up everything he believed he would need to stay at the school. Before leaving early the next morning, his mother gave him a tearful farewell and reassured him that should he need a new place to stay, he was always welcome back. He keeps that thought in the back of his mind at all times, just in case. Shortly after, he grabbed his car keys and hopped into his beat up ’01Honda and drove off in search of the school. After a few short hours, he has finally arrived to the Xavier Sister School for Gifted Youngsters.

Sample RP: Tyler turned the key in the ignition, silencing the rumbling engine. He slowly opened the door and stepped out, looking around the school grounds then finally to the school itself. It was quite large and very well built. The campus itself was very beautiful and inviting. Tyler almost felt out of place here. He was used to the city life, but this was much quieter. Out of place, yet serene…he sort of liked this feeling. He smiled as he slipped back into his car and drove up the driveway to the front door.
He got out again and walked up the concrete steps leading to the large wooden doors. Without hesitation, he knocked on the wood loudly, hoping to attract someone’s attention. Of course, with his luck, everyone was in class at that moment. He took out his cell phone and looked at the time; 10:30 a.m. It wasn’t too early or late, so luck could have been on his side. He sighed softly and leaned against the brick wall to the right of the doors. He rested his eyes for a moment, allowing himself some rest after that drive. It may not have seemed like it was around 3 to 4 hours to drive there, but his exhaustion quickly caught up with him.
He didn’t realize it, but during his little rest period, he fell asleep, dozing peacefully next to the doors. Hopefully someone would come out and wake him up before he got a full night’s rest during the day…
