The X-men run missions and work together with the NYPD, striving to maintain a peaceful balance between humans and mutants. When it comes to a fight, they won't back down from protecting those who need their help.
Haven presents itself as a humanitarian organization for activists, leaders, and high society, yet mutants are the secret leaders working to protect and serve their kind. Behind the scenes they bring their goals into reality.
From the time when mutants became known to the world, SUPER was founded as a black-ops division of the CIA in an attempt to classify, observe, and learn more about this new and rising threat.
The Syndicate works to help bring mutantkind to the forefront of the world. They work from the shadows, a beacon of hope for mutants, but a bane to mankind. With their guiding hand, humanity will finally find extinction.
Since the existence of mutants was first revealed in the nineties, the world has become a changed place. Whether they're genetic misfits or the next stage in humanity's evolution, there's no denying their growing numbers, especially in hubs like New York City. The NYPD has a division devoted to mutant related crimes. Super-powered vigilantes help to maintain the peace. Those who style themselves as Homo Superior work to tear society apart for rebuilding in their own image.

*Tricity was outside of the War Room waiting for the signal. Within a few minutes, Charles Xavier had informed her it was safe to go inside. He began speaking to her telepathically.* X: "Cassiel should be able to look around in her mind. I don't really care to do it from here, where I am. It's better to do it in person I think Michael is fully capable. Just be careful and keep me informed." "I will, don't worry, Charles." *Tricity opened the door to the War Room and saw Eliza on the bed of her cell, unconscious. With some hesitation, but consideration to the fact she may be awake, Tricity took a surge from the many computers in the room just in case she was still conscious and opened the cell. Eliza still didn't move and Tricity felt a little more comfortable. She pushed the table, usually used for operations, into the middle of the room and then waited for Cassiel to come.*
"Oh, how I wish I could do this while she was awake, it would piss that arrogant bitch off so much, I bet," Mike commented as he entered the cell. He gestured toward the table, and Eliza floated from her bed to the table, setting gently down.
"I'm going to keep you patched into my mind so that you can see what I see, but without any nasty side effects that might hit me," Mike explained as he situated himself at Eliza's head. Closing his eyes, he entered her mind, first looking into her recent memories.
A sceen flashed before Cassiel. It was a memory that Eliza had recalled not a few hours ago. She was in a large house, back when she was a little girl, not even ten yet. She was moving towards the living room, hearing noises. The sceen shifted as she turned the corner, and watched her mother and father fighting. Her eyes grew wide as she watched her father smack her mother, and then start to choke her. Tears began to form in the young Eliza's eyes as she watched the light fade from her mother's eyes, and her body go limp, as her father let her fall to the ground. She quickly turned away, running down the hall as her father chased after her. The memory cut off.
Mike bit his lip, but didn't open his eyes. He'd have to sort through a lot of things that weren't pleasant to see before they found what they wanted. He delved deeper, trying to find anything that might be pertinent to their situation at hand... after all, she'd said she had information she was withholding.
Another recently recalled memory flashed before him. This one was of Eliza, in her teens, having a fight with her father. It was extremely heated, and Eliza's powers had just started to awaken. Her father was trying to use his psychic abilities to calm her down, but it was just making her more and more angry. She charged at him, as he tried to knock her out with a psychic blast into her mind. Her Reflection power activated for the first time, and sent it back at her father with so much force that it caused his brain to implode, killing him. Eliza watched him fall to the ground, her eyes wide in shock. But soon, her eyes seemed to lose their what was left of their light, and a sick, sadistic smile crossed her face. She began to laugh as the memory cut off.
Mike watched the scene with an impassive look. On one hand, the guy got what was coming to him. On the other, here was the sadistic killer that had shown up on their doorstep trying to kill Tricity. In all honesty, he wasn't sure who disgusted him more, and he wouldn't have been sorry had the outcome been different (though that would have been impossible, since he wouldn't have been able to see the memory if she had been killed).
*Tricity gripped the sides of the operating table tightly as she saw the murderous scenes coming from Eliza's mind. She now understood why the woman was so angry and chose such a life, but still, she was there to kill her and that was something Tricity couldn't forgive. She just hoped Cassiel would be able to find something on who was trying to have her killed.*
"I'm sorry," Mike said in a somewhat distracted voice, still searching. "My power gravitates toward emotionally charged memories, so we might see more things like that before we find what we want..."
Another memory passed. It was from a year ago, when Eliza was 18. She was standing infront of a massive mansion, which had it's own private driveway. There was a man standing in the doorway, his wings open wide, his arms crossed. " Go away. Your kind is not welcome here. Cold blooded killers will not find refuge at my home. " Said a familar voice. Eliza smirked. " I'm not here for refuge, I'm here to kill you. Nothing personal, it's just orders. " she said as she went for an attack against Kage. Reflection suddenly activated, and knocked Cassiel out of Eliza's mind. It would seem that that memory was an important one to her.
"Well obviously she lost since Kage was here not too long ago... Try and get back in if you can." *Tricity said, wondering why on earth Eliza was sent to kill Kage. Mike closed his eyes and continued probing around in Eliza's mind. Tricity gripped the sides of the table again as her mind saw the images.*
This memory was back when she was sixteen, maybe seventeen. Eliza was hanging out in a crappy hotel room, sitting on a chair in the corner. She was reading a book, when the door to her apartment was kicked open, and eight soliders stormed into her room, all pointing fully automatic weapons at her. She looked up from her book, then went back to reading it. A man entered her room. She looked up again. He was a bit on the fat side and his hair was thinning, brown in color. His ears were huge. He was about 6 foot in height. Eliza looked up at him, then to the soliders, and let out a sigh. She spun around her chair, unleashing eight throwing knives, impaling the solider's in their faces. The general smirked, and nodded to her. " You could be of great use, and of course, you'd be payed greatly. " Eliza stood up, her eyes narrowing on the general as she picked up her dagger. She twirled it in her fingers. " Who are you, fat-ass? " She demanded, taking a firm grasped of her dager, the blade pointed towards him. The man smiled. " I'm General Whitmore, and I have come to offer you a job, if you think you are up to it. " He held out his hand, as Eliza put her dagger back into her holster, and shook his hand. " Sounds interesting. Tell me more. " The memory faded.
"I think we just hit paydirt," Mike said in a distracted voice, turning Eliza's mind along the path that memory took her, watching for any more memories of General Whitmore. "Can't say I expected this, though."
