The X-men run missions and work together with the NYPD, striving to maintain a peaceful balance between humans and mutants. When it comes to a fight, they won't back down from protecting those who need their help.
Haven presents itself as a humanitarian organization for activists, leaders, and high society, yet mutants are the secret leaders working to protect and serve their kind. Behind the scenes they bring their goals into reality.
From the time when mutants became known to the world, SUPER was founded as a black-ops division of the CIA in an attempt to classify, observe, and learn more about this new and rising threat.
The Syndicate works to help bring mutantkind to the forefront of the world. They work from the shadows, a beacon of hope for mutants, but a bane to mankind. With their guiding hand, humanity will finally find extinction.
Since the existence of mutants was first revealed in the nineties, the world has become a changed place. Whether they're genetic misfits or the next stage in humanity's evolution, there's no denying their growing numbers, especially in hubs like New York City. The NYPD has a division devoted to mutant related crimes. Super-powered vigilantes help to maintain the peace. Those who style themselves as Homo Superior work to tear society apart for rebuilding in their own image.

IC: Michael saw rather than felt the ice recede from his hands. He gave a slight smile, guessing that Iris was calming down. They finally reached the danger room and Michael hit the open button with his elbow, careful not to bump Iris into anything.
“Someone want to head up to the control booth,” Michael asked, “see if you can turn the danger room on? I don’t mean starting a training program, but allowing us to use it to contain Iris if she goes berserk again. Also maybe try and drop the temperature if you can, she seems calmer in the cold.”
Walking to the centre of the danger room Michael set Iris down gently on the floor. Now he had to wait to see if the ice would release him or if he’d have to sit there with her until she was back to her normal self.
By the time they had reached the danger room, Aurica was feeling the full force of the fear Iris was feeling. She started seeing the images that was going throughout her mind, and Aurica finally understood why Iris's powers were going out of control. She was putting up a face though as not to try and worry everyone. She just stood behind the boy holding Iris, her eyes showing exactly how she was feeling. Aurica was just so worried, and she was just hoping the idea she got while walking here was going to go work.
"You know, I never got your name. My name is Aurica Arsellec, though you can call me Aura for short."

Mettaliar reached the danger room with everyone and listened to Michael's request. As much as he would want to help inside if the Haywire would try a final attack, he decided to skip out and help out at the controls.
"Sure, I'll get up there. If anything happens I'll see if I can get down."
He quickly ran up and opened the door to the booth. He turned the room on and quickly declined to start the training process. He also lowered the room a decent amount as Michael had asked. He stayed up in the booth and watched down below tapping his fingers on the board.

Nicki looked around as she kept close to Michael, and thus close to Iris. She has never been inside the Danger Room and it was really quite the sight to behold. But she didn't have time to think of how amazing the place looked, she had to focus.
Leaning slightly on Michael, she looked down to Iris. Nicki wished she could lay a hand on Iris to make their connection stronger but judging on what was happening to Michael's hands it might not have been the best of ideas for someone without invincibility. So she rather just tried to keep implanting ideas of calmness, love and control into Iris' mind.
"Do...do you think she'll be okay...if she wakes up?" Nicki asked as she turned to look at Michael. She wasn't worried about Iris' health really, she knew the girl would be okay on that front. She was more concerned that if Iris woke up she was gonna be out of control again.

Michael nodded to Mettaliar up in the control booth as he felt the temperature drop. Turning to Aurica he said, “The name’s Michael, nice to meet you Aurica. Though I wish we’d had a chance to meet under more pleasant circumstances.”
Turning to Nicki he gave her a reassuring smile and said, “I honestly don’t know, but now that she’s in here we can contain her. If the worst comes to the worst everyone can bail out of the room and I’ll stay here with Iris and let her take it all out on me. With the help of the danger room we can keep her contained without having to hurt her.”
“However,” he said letting out a small sigh, “the Ice did recede from my hands a little just before we got here and our friend up there,” he nodded towards the ice gargoyle perched up on the ceiling, “has gotten a lot smaller. I think that means she’s calming down.” He sure hoped it did.

The little gargoyle scurried onto the wall and up a ways to watch the happenings below. It was a rather large group, at least seven or eight people, and at least two of them were resonating with similar energy to it's creator. It was puzzling. But apparently their presence was calming in someway. Strange, considering only minutes earlier this same group was considered a threat.
Iris felt the bump of being set down, and for a brief moment her fear bubbled to the surface. The gargoyle bolted down the wall, its frozen claws clicking on the floor. It stopped just short of the group, pausing for a brief moment. It ran to the blue-haired girl again and leapt onto her back, then onto her head. Considering it was made of ice, it's touch was anything but gentle. From there it launched itself over the group and landed on Iris's shell, facing Michael. It lifted one set of claws, as if to strike at him, but paused.
For a moment it simply stood there, staring. Then in another flash of movement, it jumped back and away. The ice around Michael's hands pulled back, releasing him. The shell around Iris grew in size and morphed, until she was encased in a small dome. Her breathing was shallow, but steady, and not so fast anymore.
The gargoyle scurried to the top of the dome, also changing shape as it went. By the time it reached the top, it looked like an over sized house cat. It curled up on top of the dome, protective eyes on the group before it.
Inside Iris briefly opened her eyes again. What she saw and what was reality still didn't match, but at least the new figures she saw weren't attacking her like the last ones. Just watching. She closed her eyes again.

Shawn watched in amazement as the gargoyle ran around the room. He began to feel tense as the gargoyle looked like it was going to attack. He then calmed down as the gargoyle ran back to a corner of the room and shrank in size. "This is so weird." Shawn said out loud, more to himself than to anyone in particular. He was also amazed at the control of pain and of their powers that everyone seemed to have. He was also surprised at how much control he had gained over his own powers and smiled inwardly.

(OOC: I'm posting for both my characters since they're doing about the same things. Just didn't wanna have to change accounts.)
They finally reached the Danger Room. Nika looked around in curiousity as she remembered how the room changed into a field with a farm house and a barn. She stayed close to Iris and Michael as she continued to show her loyalty to her friend.
Ali maintained her stance on the permimeter of the room. She too watched the gargoyle in case it decided to try something. When it stopped and seemed to be just watching Ali returned her gaze to the girl in the middle of the room.

With his hands finally free Michael stood up, rubbing them together. “Ok, now as much as we all want to help I think it’s time for us all to step back,” he suggested, “Give her some space. This place is big enough to allow us all to keep back and see what’s happening. If it all goes horribly wrong we can step in.”
Following his own advice Michael moved to join Ali at the edge of the room. “Say Ali, do you mind heating my hands up?” he asked, “A quick fireball to each should do the trick, and we’re far enough away from Iris that it shouldn’t bother her.”

"I don't think you need a fireball." Ali placed her hands over Michaels and just projected heat to his hands. It was just enough to slowly warm his hands up and not cook them. "I can do more than just fireballs."

Michael felt the warmth from Ali’s hands on his and the feeling start to come back. “Thanks Ali,” he said with a grateful smile, “I didn’t know if you could only play with fire or with temperature as well.”
“So, what an interesting day it’s been,” he remarked, trying to lighten the somewhat sombre mood, “Between you and me alone we’ve destroyed a chunk of the upper floors, the library and a classroom, and that’s not adding on Iris’ damage. I would not want to be footing that repair bill.”

Raina jumped protectivly when the gargoyle made a run for Iris- but everything seemed to melt and change infront of her. She stood calmly. She didn't like the danger room. Not one bit. But she knew this really was the better place to be. She let out a sigh that then turned to a giggle after hearing Ali's comments.
She hesitated a moment standing back on her heels, then balancing forward Raina walked up to the dome that Iris was in and placed a pale hand on the ice like a child trying to communicate with some animal it felt sorry for in a cage. She saw that Iris's eyes were opened... but they still seemed so vacant. "Oh Iris..." she thought to herself. 'what will it take to bring you back?"

Nicki sighed as she stayed near Iris. She just felt so terrible for Iris. To be so confused, to be so lost in her own skin, it must have been so difficult. She wanted to help Iris so much, in any way possible, but there was so little any of them could do, just try to to keep her calm.
As the others backed away and started amongst themselves, Nicki stayed quiet and close to Iris, keeping her eyes on the girl in concern. "It's nice to meet you Iris..."
Ted burst into the observation room, and saw a group of people gathered around an ice dome with some sort of sculture sitting on top of it. He recognised Raina being amoung the group, and was glad that she was ok. He then turned to the other guy in the room, "What has happened? What's going on? What's with the ice-dome-thing?"

Raina heaved a sign of relief when she saw the young man come in the room, "Ted!" the macho personality she had been doning to lead the situation, and with a melting expression and tears in her eyes ran to Ted and hugged him. "I'm glad you woke up." she whispered. Ted was the closest guy Raina had, she felt a bit of a sibbling type relationship forming, and she'd confess in the back of her mind she was hoping he'd come in the doors.
