The X-men run missions and work together with the NYPD, striving to maintain a peaceful balance between humans and mutants. When it comes to a fight, they won't back down from protecting those who need their help.
Haven presents itself as a humanitarian organization for activists, leaders, and high society, yet mutants are the secret leaders working to protect and serve their kind. Behind the scenes they bring their goals into reality.
From the time when mutants became known to the world, SUPER was founded as a black-ops division of the CIA in an attempt to classify, observe, and learn more about this new and rising threat.
The Syndicate works to help bring mutantkind to the forefront of the world. They work from the shadows, a beacon of hope for mutants, but a bane to mankind. With their guiding hand, humanity will finally find extinction.
Since the existence of mutants was first revealed in the nineties, the world has become a changed place. Whether they're genetic misfits or the next stage in humanity's evolution, there's no denying their growing numbers, especially in hubs like New York City. The NYPD has a division devoted to mutant related crimes. Super-powered vigilantes help to maintain the peace. Those who style themselves as Homo Superior work to tear society apart for rebuilding in their own image.

Michael smiled warmly at Aurica. So she was nervous about hugging him. He did his best to try and put her at ease. “Oh, ok then,” he said pleasantly, “Also if I’m hugging you I’ll make a better shield against an attack, so it’s a better idea all round.”
He stepped towards Aurica and held his arms open. Michael thought it best to let her come and hug him, but he wanted to show that he didn’t mind, and was willing to do it. After all, it was only a hug.
(OOC: This is Iris' ending post but since she wasn't sure if she'd have internet access she sent it to me to post for her so here it is.)
Whether it was Raina’s and the others’ songs, Nicki’s thoughts, or Arua’s channeling, or a combination of both, Iris would probably never know. And for a while there were no outward signs that anything was happening at all. But inside was another matter.
The clawed and fanged creatures of her mind’s eye grew in size, becoming massive. It should have been terrifying. But as she watched, their forms began to lose shape. The white lab coats disappeared, leaving only black shadows. The eyes that were watching her began to disappear, one by one. The shouting voices started to fade, and the angry static mellowed, until they became part of the chanting. The individual shadows began merging with each other. Soon they were just one giant, black blob, still with fangs. But soon the edges began to stretch out again; it was as if a painting had been splashed by water, and the colors were running. Eventually the shadow began to shrink. The only thing that didn’t change was the one in the dark coat. That shadow stayed in the background, unaffected and unchanging. A pair of silver eyes stared back at her out of the darkness, but for some reason they seemed clearer than before . She shivered a bit on the outside. That stare still bothered her, but at least now she felt she could keep her distance from it. Very soon, the shadows were either gone completely, or at the edges of her mindscape..
Outside, things finally began to change, one of them a lucky fluke. Once the mental pressure began to fade, so did the ice covering Iris. Slowly, but surely, the dome began to shrink away, melting, then disappearing. The little gargoyle/cat guardian stayed until the very last. Just before the dome disappeared completely, it stretched and yawned, as if it were a real housecat. Iris, and the ice, suddenly shivered. The icy blue washed out of her hair, leaving behind the original blonde. Within a minute or two of her changing back, the frozen guardian had vanished along with the rest of the ice, leaving Iris completely free. With the numbing effect gone, pain returned in full to Iris’s body, enough of it to keep her from blacking out immediately.
She opened her eyes, just barely. The world was fuzzy and shadowy still. She could make out two shapes standing nearby. But most of that overwhelming fear was gone now, enough where she didn’t feel the need to bolt again. Instead she groaned a bit, and put a hand on the side of her face.
“Oooooo.... my head.... Tell the guys... with jack-hammers... to lay...... off..........” Her hoarse voice trailed off as she again fell unconscious.
(OOC: Could someone get Iris to the infirmary and get the DocProf to tranquilize her so she can sleep off the rest of Haywire? I’ll make a ‘wake up call’ post there when I get back. Thanks, to all, for putting up with my quirkiness, both IC and OOC *hugs all round*. And I’m outta here. lol See everyone the beginning of next week!)
Michael span back around to look at Iris as the ice receded. Slowly but surely the dome shrank, until only Iris was left. He knelt down beside her and heard her speak before passing out.
“It’s alright Iris,” he said to her soothingly, “You’re friend’s are here, we’ll help you.” Picking her up gently he stood and turned to leave. “Aurica, while I know you have healing, I think that this is something for a mansion doctor to take a look at.”
He headed out of the danger room and towards the infirmary. It was over at last. He’d been so intent on helping Iris that it had only just sunk in. It was over. He was sure that the other’s would want to come down and see Iris, but getting her to a doctor was paramount.
(OOC: Whoa....okay this will make my post completely weird as after Aurica was going to do the link thing, she was going to pass out, but alright, we'll just skip that. xD)
