The X-men run missions and work together with the NYPD, striving to maintain a peaceful balance between humans and mutants. When it comes to a fight, they won't back down from protecting those who need their help.
Haven presents itself as a humanitarian organization for activists, leaders, and high society, yet mutants are the secret leaders working to protect and serve their kind. Behind the scenes they bring their goals into reality.
From the time when mutants became known to the world, SUPER was founded as a black-ops division of the CIA in an attempt to classify, observe, and learn more about this new and rising threat.
The Syndicate works to help bring mutantkind to the forefront of the world. They work from the shadows, a beacon of hope for mutants, but a bane to mankind. With their guiding hand, humanity will finally find extinction.
Since the existence of mutants was first revealed in the nineties, the world has become a changed place. Whether they're genetic misfits or the next stage in humanity's evolution, there's no denying their growing numbers, especially in hubs like New York City. The NYPD has a division devoted to mutant related crimes. Super-powered vigilantes help to maintain the peace. Those who style themselves as Homo Superior work to tear society apart for rebuilding in their own image.

Michael stepped into the infirmary holding Iris in his arms. DocProf spotted him immediately and signalled for him to come and lay her on a bed. He complied, carefully setting Iris down.
“What happened?” the DocProf asked as he began to examine Iris’ injuries.
“Well, she’s the one whose been causing all the ruckus,” Michael explained, “Something happened to her that meant she just went nuts and started attacking people. We finally managed to calm her down.”
“She’s in pretty bad shape,” the DocProf concluded, “but nothing I can’t fix. What about you? Any injuries?”
Michael laughed and said, “Nope, I can’t get injured, I’m invincible.”
“It’s alright for some,” said the DocProf with a smile, “Anyone else injured?”
“There were a couple, but a new girl has healing powers and so I think she healed up the worst of it,” said Michael. He now stood back and let the man treat Iris, while waiting for the others to arrive.

Mettaliar had walked in behind Michael. He had followed the others from the booth and decided to follow along for the rest of the journey. He looked in and found a wall to lean against. He put his hands in his pockets and watched Iris be layed on the bed and let DocProf conclude the analysis. He watched and sighed.
"I'm fine here. Good to see maybe Iris might get out of that effect soon."

Shawn floated into the infirmary and sat down, winded. DocProf walked over to him once he was finished with Iris, for the moment, and Shawn had retracted his powers so that the silver covered him so that it looked like he was wearing shorts and a shirt. "I was a lot worse." Shawn told DocProf. "I healed myself a little but i'm sure you could do better." He was very stiff and sore from the fight with Iris and the ice. He remained sitting in the chair and let DocProf examine him. Then DocProf said "I'll just put some bandages and give you some medicine to take and you should be fine. I want to keep you here for a while, probably not overnight or anything," he added looking at Shawn's expression, "but I want you here to rest for a while and I want to keep an eye on you."
Shawn's face lightened up at that statement. He had hated going to doctors and being kept in hospitals ever since he was young. The doctors that he went to never seemed to be helping him; instead they seemed to be making everything worse. However, there was something about this doctor that soothed Shawn and made him more relaxed than he had ever been in any doctors office or hospital. This doctor, in Shawn's opinion seemed to know what he was doing and he seemed to know how to treat mutants.

Raina had followed the others in. She sat the closest to Iris watching her sleep. "Guys..." she started. "That was really scary." she was shakey thinking of everything that had happened. "Do you think someone did something to Iris?" She didnt take her eyes off the girl sleeping.

Nicki walked into the infirmary, looking around. That's right...she had been here earlier. She looked down at her shirt and saw that it was still covered in Raina's now dry blood. The day had gone by so fast that Nicki had almost forgot that this was where it pretty much started for her. Nicki stepped over towards Iris, stroking her hair lightly. "You're gonna be okay now" she whispered, before standing up and turning towards the rest of the room.

Mettaliar had been leaning against the wall thinking when suddenly he heard the other students walk in. Most of them continued with their concerned moans and words sitting next to Iris. He looked up and cracked his neck watching the others gather around the girl. Suddenly, he heard a girl speak up. He didn't know the girl, but the question was something that struck him.
"Do you think someone did something to Iris?" was the question.
"Yes." he spoke. He didn't really think about responding, he just did it in reaction. He looked up and looked around.

Raina turned to the boy she hadn't properly met and gave him a quizicle look. "There's so much violence here. Nothing like this happends where I come from..." she paused in silence to look at Iris again. "If you think someone did it- then who?"
Geo eyes cracked open, he had fallen asleep in a chair at the far corner of the infirmiry. He stood up and walked over to where the others were. He rubbed the sleep out of his eye's, "Did i miss anything."

Mettaliar looked at the girl as she looked up at him. He stood up straight, closing his eyes, and drew a sigh. He opened his eyes again and began to speak.
"These random people. Tested her with this one mutant... Jack was the proper name, but her alias was that of 'Haywire.' Well, her powers caused this," he explained nodding his head at Iris, "and it brought Iris to insanity. I know this as fact from witnessing it myself, as I was caged up as well going through the same thing."
He looked down at Iris's still body and shook his head. "Don't know why they did it, but it happened. So, any questions?" he asked looking around the room, noticing one boy had just woken up.
Aurica finally found the infirmary. She was still a little bit light headed from that little throw back that happened in the Danger Room, which is why she didn't really keep up with the rest of them. When she got there, she heard a lot of people talking about a mutant named Haywire doing this to Iris. Aurica turned her head slightly, thinking that one mutant could make another mutant's power go completely out of control. But looking around the room, the feelings of being worried, concerned, they were all gone. It was just relief she was getting from pretty much everyone. She gave off a slight smile, turned around, and headed out of the infirmary.
Well, time to go lay down. Being light headed won't really do me any good.

"What the hell?!" Raina would have shocked everyone in the room with her deamaner. the usually quiet and timid girl was now standing near hysterics with tears pouring down her face. "What the hell is wrong with you people? With the freaking city. Everyone just goes about their business and blasts each-others faces off. This kind of thing shouldn't be happening. We're all mutants for Goddsake we should be in this thing together."
It truly was Raina's first taste of the good mutant vs the bad. And it was overwhelming. Raina came from a place where she was the only mutant. She was starting to understand things... but that didn't make things any less frusturating and upsetting when all of this was caused for stupid unknown reasons to her.
She paced around the room. "You're all kids, I'm barley an adult myself..." she was muttering. "but we're playing these war games..." she pointed to Iris and spun around staring in the faces of all the mutants who had been in the mansion the longest. "Is this what lies ahead for us?" she asked as loud as she could, challenging them. "Or are we just a bunch of kids playing with fire?" she was upset, overwhelmed, speaking on pure emotion. "Is this what is expected of us? being at this school? I don't want to see this happen to someone else. Everyone here is so young and inexperieinced. We think just because we have all these powers that we can beat the crap out of anyone..." she was breathing hard now and rambling.
Finally she collasped in a chair and looked again at the mutants who had been here the longest knowing that the question she was about to ask would be one that many of the other new students like herself would want to know... "What is this school really for?"
ooc: I figured it was time for an emotional break down, lol. But also a good chance to get all of us newbs sorts brought into the fold since a lot of us started the rping and jumped right into action just barley having met tricity, or not having met her at all yet.

Shawn got up and walked directly over to Iris's bed where everyone was gathered. He heard the guy that had been in control room. "So if you were there," Shawn interjected, "why aren't your powers all messed up like Iris's are?" Shawn asked looking directly at him; his mind racing with all of the information that he had just heard and all of the action that just passed. "Is there anyway that whoever it is might comeback for her again or come for any of us so that we wind up with a repeat of what just happened?" Shawn looked worried at the thought that they might have to go through this again and destroy more of the mansion.
Shawn waited to see if anyone would say anything. He was listening to Raina rant and rave when he felt a sharp pain in his side. It was so strong that he collapsed right there at Iris' bed. He let out a little gasp of pain. His face cringed in pain and both hands flew to his side. When the pain started to die away he removed his hand and saw that there was a giant whole from where apparently a spike of ice had speared him. He had been so busy that he hadn't even noticed it before. He sat down and with a swift pull he yanked the spike out of his side. He let the ice drop to the ground and he continued to sit and deal with the pain. Then everything went black and he felt himself lie on the floor.

Mettaliar was thrown back slightly when the girl flipped out. He knew that the girl wouldn't take the news with smiles and rainbows, yet he wasn't prepared for a rant. He wanted to step up and tell her to calm down, yet was approached by another mutant asking about his experience.
"So if you were there, why aren't your powers all messed up like Iris's are?"
Mettaliar sighed and thought for a second. He had to explain this well or else another mutant might be set off.
"Look, I'm not exactly sure how much longer Iris was at that... place... than I was. I'm assuming they came up with SOME way to have the effects the girl mutant produced into maybe a syringe or tablet. Something that would have the effects last even if they weren't in reach of that girls powers. That has to be it, since we're not acting up are we?" He took a deep sigh. The girl who had flipped was still ranting yet had soon finished. "My best guess is that they kept Iris longer for more testing, than sent her here to see what the effects would do in a crowded space. Which we see is NOT good. I have a feeling the effect will wear off in a matter of no time, what scares me more is that if this really is planned, someone or ones will be keeping count, right? I don't know what made them let me go and keep Iris... poor soul. Either way, this may just be some crazy testing that will finish and we'll be left alone. Once Iris recovers we can ask her for details. All I know is that we were tested on and she was chosen as the golden subject." The last line had almost made him spit. It was disturbing that any group of people would do such a thing.
He suddenly heard the girl speak up one final question. "What is this school really for?"
Mettaliar turned his head and looked at her. "It's purpose was, and still is, to be a safe-haven for mutants like us. It's so that we wouldn't be discriminated against by humans that could interfere with our lives. We came here cause we thought we'd be safe. Apparently, however, someone or ones knows about this. I have little doubt that they sent Iris here on purpose. Maybe just because they knew she lived here, but maybe also to see how Iris would deal, under the effect, around us. Look, until we get more details out of Iris we should just calm down. All this getting worked up could be over nothing. We'll know soon enough anyways." It was the first really long speech-like talk he had given. He kinda felt embarrassed, and continued to lean against the wall and stood silent.

Nicki looked down when she heard Haywire. She knew Haywire...or at least a lot more about her than Nicki was being forthcoming about.
"Um...he's right. About Haywire. I went over to that other mutant place once, the Sanctuary I think they called it, and I heard some stuff about the girl...and...what she could do. What she could do to people's powers..." Nicki sighed, leaning against the wall. "This is basically what it's supposed to do: freak em out."
"And I don't think whoever did this is gonna come back for Iris. They pissed off a really powerful mutant and the minute she sobers up, they're not gonna want anything to do with her" Nicki cleared her throat, trying to sound casual. ---

After hearing Raina’s rant Michael just felt like he needed some air. He was tiered, the ‘fight’ with Ted had taken a lot out of him, and then trying to deal with Iris took even more.
What he wanted now was to find somewhere nice to sit down, then try and process what he had just heard. The idea of someone deliberately doing this to Iris was just too much to cope with right now.
The amount of damage that had been done to the mansion had only just sunk in. He’d been there for a day and seen about a third of it destroyed. Getting up he left the infirmary without saying a word.
