The X-men run missions and work together with the NYPD, striving to maintain a peaceful balance between humans and mutants. When it comes to a fight, they won't back down from protecting those who need their help.
Haven presents itself as a humanitarian organization for activists, leaders, and high society, yet mutants are the secret leaders working to protect and serve their kind. Behind the scenes they bring their goals into reality.
From the time when mutants became known to the world, SUPER was founded as a black-ops division of the CIA in an attempt to classify, observe, and learn more about this new and rising threat.
The Syndicate works to help bring mutantkind to the forefront of the world. They work from the shadows, a beacon of hope for mutants, but a bane to mankind. With their guiding hand, humanity will finally find extinction.
Since the existence of mutants was first revealed in the nineties, the world has become a changed place. Whether they're genetic misfits or the next stage in humanity's evolution, there's no denying their growing numbers, especially in hubs like New York City. The NYPD has a division devoted to mutant related crimes. Super-powered vigilantes help to maintain the peace. Those who style themselves as Homo Superior work to tear society apart for rebuilding in their own image.

Got a plot in mind?
MRO plots are player-created the Mods facilitate and organize the big ones, but we get the ideas from you. Do you have a plot in mind, and want to know whether it needs Mod approval? Check out our plot guidelines.
I have an idea. How about some kind of insane scientist creates a power granting pill/serum that gives humans powers like those of mutants. At first it´s marketed as a drug that can help with a number of things:
- More Strenght -More Speed -Curing disseases - etc
However there are downsides.
Overuse will instill a beserk raging state that makes the humans experience something like a super powered steroid rage. Also to produce the serum a mutant must go through a painfull procedure that will leave them near death to acess his Genetic code and extract it. They are immune to the objects that would neutralize mutants since they act on the X-Gene which is not present. After the steroid rage ends the humans die.

could be good, might be intresting if the effect was temporary and addictive so people kept buying more and more of it, trying to get more power and they die from over use in one of the rages
Yeah, it could be cool, but honestly... There are very few Humans on this Forum, and those who are on it are Adapteds. Anyhow... I'm not really into that idea either. How about we just go plotless for a while?

yeah my thoughts exactly, an NPC or someone the mods could handle, or a long time player who could handle it. It would be a cool mix of things that happened in the comics. Remember apocalypse? It would still be very free form going on in the background kinda thing I think. I think as long as it doesn't become a faction type thing which it wont if we lay out ground rules, we'd be mostly good. and the looming threat of some super powerful mutant or something, maybe there could be debate as to if he's even real or not! I dunno... I'd just like to follow some plots with the comics and if people didn't read them yet there's a lot of info on wikipedia. i think it would offer good guide lines and help us deter from some of the things that have made it harder in the past. *nods*
House of M would be cool, and very fun. Another intresting idea is, what if their was an alternate relaity, whare alleigences are switched. This could give people a chance to se ehow their chars would react on the other side of the fence.

I fear I was a bad person, and posted your idea (with proper credit!) about a page ago.

do we have enough people actually affiliated though for a plot like that to work? it still kinda sounds like another FP to me
For me, the plot isn't just allegiance switching--it's morality switching. Every character does a moral flip-flop, regardless of whether they're in a Faction or not. So, for instance, Isabel will be bandaging injured police officers on the side of the road and Syn will be running peace campaigns out of the Sanctuary (which will be a shelter for good and tolerance), while the X-Men run around hating humans and declaring superiority, and Kabal-Leader Calley leads the charge against Canada, under the direction of EvilPrincess Katrina... and Kealey and Slate are strippers, with mafia Boss Jacen overseeing their paychecks. Basically, it's a total reversal of whatever your character is now.
It'll probably be run very similarly to the FP in order to keep the site newb-friendly while it's going, but the actual plot is entirely different, and makes my brain happy.

hmm that does sound interesting, Raina would be so cool to be a badass for once. But haha I do see how it could turn into the FP very very easily... I'd rather see it as a mini plot the way we;'re planning for freaky friday
