The X-men run missions and work together with the NYPD, striving to maintain a peaceful balance between humans and mutants. When it comes to a fight, they won't back down from protecting those who need their help.
Haven presents itself as a humanitarian organization for activists, leaders, and high society, yet mutants are the secret leaders working to protect and serve their kind. Behind the scenes they bring their goals into reality.
From the time when mutants became known to the world, SUPER was founded as a black-ops division of the CIA in an attempt to classify, observe, and learn more about this new and rising threat.
The Syndicate works to help bring mutantkind to the forefront of the world. They work from the shadows, a beacon of hope for mutants, but a bane to mankind. With their guiding hand, humanity will finally find extinction.
Since the existence of mutants was first revealed in the nineties, the world has become a changed place. Whether they're genetic misfits or the next stage in humanity's evolution, there's no denying their growing numbers, especially in hubs like New York City. The NYPD has a division devoted to mutant related crimes. Super-powered vigilantes help to maintain the peace. Those who style themselves as Homo Superior work to tear society apart for rebuilding in their own image.

Aura attack missed and her momentum carried her forward, as soon as she did, her weapons flowed back into her Aura as she realized the opening which had appeared in her defense. She felt the blow from it's strength made her stagger off to her Left side. She recovered, feeling the drain in her aura the blow had caused, now he was getting serious and she smiled even wider. "So your strong to......good" she said reforming blades on her arms, it was then her freind appeared from the lobby. Aura amde no motion to Melf that she had heard her except to begin backing away keeping her blades pointed at her opponent.
"It seems the dance must end early, my friend" She said a hint of disappointment easily detectable in her voice. She really had wanted to play more. Aura could hear the sirens as well and knew the fight would have been over soon anyway. "If you choose to continue your foolish actions, then i will have to get serious" she said bluffing a bit as she had been trying to cause him harm all ready, she glanced at Meld only when Aura got next to her. "Let's go" she said as she watched for David who she could hear was only a few steps behind them. This mission had gone better then she hoped, she had even gotten in a good fight though ti had been far shorter then she would have liked. She had a plan if the man decided to get to stupid and really try and stop them.
David kept stuffing the cash in, filling the bag to the top. Eventually he got to a point where the bag was nearly overflowing "That should do it." He said zipping it shut. He turned and gave a nod to Meld, before throwing the bag over his shoulder and following her out.
He wasn't as fast as Meld, and by the time he arrived in the lobby the fight seemed pretty much over. David stopped in his tracks as he saw the man, surprised that a guard would last that long. That's when he noticed the beret, "Hey that guy's a Green Beret." He said, as if oblivious to the situation. "What are the chances?" He said shifting the bag to his other shoulder. The sirens brought him back to the matter at hand "Yes, escaping, right." He said as he cautiously started to walk towards the group.
"It seems the dance must end early, my friend. If you choose to continue your foolish actions, then i will have to get serious"
The light from his pistol continues to somewhat illuminate the lobby and he looks as the first girl he saw had returned and his adversary had stepped towards her. "Well if it has to end, it could at least end in a bang." He raised the flashbang in his left hand up and looped his right index finger around the ring connected to the pin. Then as a man returned he noticed that those two had bags, most likely full of stolen money he surmised
"Hey that guy's a Green Beret."
He laughed at this, "I am not a green beret, this is tan. That means I am a Ranger." as he says the last sentence he pulls the pin on the flash bang and throws it at the group, he then dives and makes a rolled landing behind a desk. Within a second of his landing there is a loud 'BANG' and a bright white flash which the desk shields his eyes from. Following the bang he stands, hoping the guy with the bags is still in the same place, and in one quick motion draws his knife and swoops his arm in a wide arc to a full extension which when reached he releases the knife sending it flying blade first at what he hoped was still the location of the bags of money.

Meld hadn't realized what a green or tan beret actually meant nor did she know what a ranger was in the context it was being spoken in but it didn't really seem to matter. "Lets try to make this easy," Meld counseled the stranger, seeing him pull something out of his bag. "Do you really want to have to go up against all three of us?" She lifted her metal hand threateningly. He might not have been a human, that much was obvious by the length of time he had survived against Aura, but a bladed metal hand of death was still a bladed metal hand of death.
Meld watched as he threw whatever it was he had pulled out of the bag at the two of them and swore as she dived out of the way, covering her face protectively with her hands. She might not have been positive what it was or what it could do, but she knew enough to realize that it was probably bad. That sentiment was confirmed a moment later when the thing went off with a bright flash and Meld screamed. Despite her attempt to protect her eyes and face, the bright flash sent waves of piercing pain through her flesh melded eye; normally sensitive to bright lights it not only shut down but also sent waves of pain through Meld's skull, pain she hadn't felt since her mutation first developed. She wasn't even sure how it could be possible, except that it was somehow completely mental or maybe in some way connected to her brain. Regardless, the sensation was undeniable and for the moment she could do nothing but clutch at her eye in agony and pray for the sensation to stop.
Aura had no idea what a green beret or a ranger was, in fact the only thing she could compare it to was a power rangers episode had seen once but she had a good feeling that was not what he meant. She had no conceapt of a flash bang instead thinking it was more akin to a granade. Knowing trying to delfect it would be dangerous, Aura moved to the side of the wall, but the cover was no quite enough, and her vision quickly failed her. As they did Aura Aura dug into the wall her hand was against the wall.
She wonderd if David had been equally afected, unsure of this she walked out from behind the cover, turning to whare she had seen the man dive, she could not see but still knew whare the desk had been. Her eyes screamed in pain even as she moved, though somwhat slowly in a some what futile attempt to protect david who she could not even see at this point. Staggering a bit as she stepped on somthing, she rubbed her eyes trying to clear them, so she could at the very least try and find David. The sirens were getting closer still and she would not be taken by the cops again.
David noticed the flashbang, and recognized it for what it was before it was thrown. "Oh, sorry, both army though, not quite sure.." but he was cut off when the grenade was thrown. "Uh oh." David thought as he turned and ducked away, shielding his eyes with his arms. The flash of light didn't bug him, but the bang caused his ears to start ringing.
He turned back to see the other two staggering about, it was kind of funny, the disadvantage of his regular eyes actually became an advantage when the flashbang went off. He saw the Army Ranger pop up from behind a counter, a knife in his hand. The man actually through it at him, David tried to move himself out of the way, and the blade went right across his arm, it only left a scratch, but cut through his jacket. "Now why would you do that?!" He asked looking at the ruined sleeve.
David could hear the sirens getting closer and closer, and he wanted to hurry up and get out of there. He wasn't stupid, maybe scatterbrained at times, but not stupid, he knew he couldn't fight off an Army Ranger. "Why are you here, someone with your training isn't just a security guard, meaning those sirens are for you to." He said deciding to talk his way out.
Noticing that his flashbang disabled two of them for the time being, the third seemed only slightly affected by it, he pulled his arm back from the throw but left it off to his side with a bent elbow so he could quickly reach for the pistol under his right arm.
"Now why would you do that?!"
"The aim was to slice a hole in your bags there." He slowly walks to the other side of the desk and makes his way toward the pistol laying on the ground with the flashlight still on, he moves slowly keeping his eyes on the male. The other two still seemed disabled and he had no idea what this one could do.
"Why are you here, someone with your training isn't just a security guard, meaning those sirens are for you to."
"Well I originally came here to lift some data from the servers so I could trace the movement of money of a criminal organization, with which information I could stop them. Since arriving here I found yall and decided to stop the immediate crime before worrying about the future crimes." He could hear sirens as they approached, he didn't care much he could outrun the average cop and his bike could outrun their patrol cars so in theory he only had to make it that far to get them off his trail. Reaching his pistol he picked it up with his right had and as he stood back up from leaning down to grab it he pointed it at the male thus keeping the light on him. He considered firing tranq darts him and the other with the odd looking had and feet to incapacitate them so the police could pick them up, but perhaps there is a justifiable reason to take the money.
"Now here is my question to you, wrong answer buys you a tranquilizer dart," he gestures with his left hand to the gun in his right hand, "why are you taking what I surmise is the vault money?"

Meld was almost entirely unaware of everything happening around her, so consumed was she with the pain in her flesh melded eye. With great effort, however, she managed to block it out of her mind, at least enough for her to function, and realized that, while she could not see out of her flesh melded eye, if she kept it closed her human eye was still functional. She felt crippled and unable to see adequately in the dim lit building, but it was at least enough to perceive her surroundings.
As her mental awareness refocused, she once again became aware of the fast approaching sirens and the fact that the ranger was threatening David, who happened to hold most of the stolen money, money she was not willing to give up easily.
Fortunately, the ranger seemed to have his attention focused squarely on David, no doubt assuming that she and Aura had been incapacitated by is attack. Taking full advantage of that fact, Meld crept forward, cringing as her metal feet clacked against the floor, still feeling the effects of the flash and the pain in her eye. She lifted her bladed hand threateningly. "I suggest leaving in peace. We've done no real harm hear, nor have you up until this point. I would hate to have to do anything regrettable to a fellow mutant."
Aura's eyes still screamed at her, even as they cleared slighty to allow her to see the outlines of things around her, once again. Still she was mianly trying to Determine whare people were based on the sound of their voice, which would only give her a general direction. Still she was not worried about Ranger now, for she had a plan, slipping back she stumbeled down the hallway a bit, still looking quite disorineted and she was to a large degree, feeling ahead of her she felt a raining, and the smile returned to her chapped lips. Leaning down her fngers wonderd the floor until it felt somthing warm and fleashy. Realizeing she was feeling fingers she wrapped her hand around the wrist of the guard, who wa sstill out cold and yanked him out from.
Pulling him out enough whare she could lean against the wall she formed an Aura blade and put it to the man's neck before calling out. "Two things will happon hero....if you persist, this guard will go home in a bag, and you'l force us to carve a path through those guards. I really don't min either way" She said, her blade kept moving slightly she was not quite sure whare the persons artery was, a sshe still lacked any useable site. "I can't see much, so i might slip if you decide to play hero and before you can clear the distence. Normally i would love to fight, but their's just no time" she said coldly, as if to prove her point the blade shifted slightly and a red fluid ran down from the man's neckm just below his chin. She hated not being able to see and wished her Aura could protect her from such things, it could not though somthing that was painfully obvious. She was hoping he would play the hero and back down. Even if he did try and save her she hoped Meld would be able to take him out.
Aura loved the irony they were being stopped by another petty theif, To her what he said made him about the same as them. She figured this miht not be the best time to mention that, hostage situations rarely were. Aura had used this tactic before and won with it, and no matter what it would serve the purpos. David had said try not to kill, well she was trying, his fate was in the Ranger's hands.
David looked at the bag, then back at his arm, "Well at least you didn't take my arm off." He said looking at the small cut. David's attention was transfixed to the gun, he had never been shot before, and was afraid of it. "So he was breaking in as well." He thought.
His adrenaline was flowing, the longer the gun was pointed at him, the more fear he felt, the sweat was starting to appear on his brow, but then he got a rush of relief. It was a tranquilizer gun. He still didn't want to be shot by it, but at least it wouldn't kill him. He noticed Meld approaching the man, weapon in hand. He quickly raised his hand to Meld, signaling for her to stop "Wait Meld, I don't think it's needed." He said desperately trying to contain the situation.
David took a deep breath, preparing to give the speech of his life. "I can't say our motives are as pure as yours, you're here to get evidence to arrest criminals? Were here to steal money, but" He said holding a finger up, "We are stealing from the corrupt bank, this money is insured. The people who invest in this bank, the people who rely on the money here to survive, will not be harmed. The bank will be the one hurt. The bank who loans out money, rips off those they can, and takes advantages of others." He said taking a breath. "And you sir, though you are noble in your intentions, your actions are still on par with ours, no matter how you spin it you are stealing what is not yours, private information. It is still a crime."
He was interrupted by Aura, and her own solution to the problem. "No." David said strongly. "PLease Aura, we don't need to kill the guy." David watched as the blood trickled from the guard's neck. "I said no killing, that was the golden rule of this job."
"I suggest leaving in peace. We've done no real harm hear, nor have you up until this point. I would hate to have to do anything regrettable to a fellow mutant."
Upon her speaking up the Ranger realized she had moved closer than she had been prior and at that point he reached with his left hand to take his other pistol, thus allowing him to train a gun on both of them. Yet, the male of the party seemed to to be trying to diffuse the situation. Apparently the girl with the oddly metallic features was named Meld, he had heard Flynn use that name in a conversation earlier that evening.
The man then turned his attention back to the Ranger and addressed him, and he listened. Although, the statement, "And you sir, though you are noble in your intentions, your actions are still on par with ours, no matter how you spin it you are stealing what is not yours, private information. It is still a crime." Surprised him. To him the ends justify the means and his actions would be justified by the greater good that would be the result. He knew most did not feel this philosophy was a good way to go about life but to the Ranger it was an apt view.
"Well as I see it, yes it is a crime, but it is a crime that can be justified by an end. And I follow the philosophy that the ends justify the means." He still had the two guns trained on the one called Meld and the male of the party when the third drew attention to herself. She has a hostage and laid out an ultimatum. And then was surprised by the male's response, it appeared he was the leader of this outfit and was insisting the one called Aura not kill her hostage.
Well this is a bind. Nothing from this encounter can be good, I stand down they rob the place, I stand my ground Aura kills the guard. Perhaps the bank cheated some of the money out of people and it was insured by the FDIC but still it was an unjustifiable act. Yet, letting her kill that man is also unjustifiable in the present circumstances. If I tried to take those two out with tranq darts perhaps the gun would be quiet enough that her flashbanged ears would not notice, but that would be a huge gamble. The Ranger did not know what to do, on one hand he could perhaps tranq the two who lacked the protective aura, but at the loss of one man's life. On the other he let them get away with it and his breaking in would be unjustifiable as he did not acquire the data to stop a crime nor did he stop a current one.
He returned the gun in his left hand that was trained on Meld to its holster under his right arm and then ejected the magazine in his right hand's pistol. Following that he reached into his butt pack and drew out a magazine of live rounds and placed it in his pistol. As far as they would know he was reloading it with tranq darts since he fired several at Aura. "Alright. I'll let you leave."
He hated that he had to let them leave. He lowered his pistol, the light moving off of the male and now shining on the floor immediately in front of himself. Yet he knew that the first moment Aura let loose of that guard bullets would fly. He made a motion with his head for them to leave and clicked off his light, placing the gun in it's holster under his right arm. His power began to increase his night vision and before a to long he could see all three of them and the hostage in the dart with the sirens nearly upon them.

Meld halted as David instructed her to do so, mentally berating him for drawing attention to herself. If only he hadn't spoken she might have been able to get close enough to convince their foe that it was in his best interest to drop his weapons. He had no sense of doing what needed to be done in order to survive, so attached was he to his misguided morals and values. But she would have to deal with that later, once they had made it out of this situation in tact.
Aura, it seemed, had a much more practical view of things, taking one of the guards hostage. She hoped their enemy had a similar moral weakness as David seemed to have and that he would actually care about the human guard's life. So far there had been no killing but she knew that could easily change. She and Aura, at least, would do whatever was necessary to escape alive and out of the hands of the cops. Of course, should any deaths arise they might have to deal with David afterwards, but she was confident that he wouldn't pose much of a problem.
Meld froze as the two guns were pointed at her, once again mentally berating her oh so well meaning companion. "I don't want to have to hurt you," Meld said, keeping her hands visible. "But what do you want to bet that I can get to you before whatever's in those darts have any affect on me?" She was bluffing of course, having no idea what was even in the darts, but he didn't have to know that. Meld watched carefully as he replaced the bullets in his gun, cursing her weak human eye and the fact that she currently couldn't see at all out of her other eye.
"Alright. I'll let you leave." Meld didn't know whether to trust those words or not. Plainly he must have said them because of the hostage situation and not wanting to see anyone get killed, but what would he do once Aura no longer had hold of the man? He was obviously still armed. However, Meld was currently injured and preferred the idea of this ending peacefully. Cautiously she began moving towards the exit, not taking her eyes off of the man with the gun. She wondered if it would be possible for Aura to lift the unconscious man and carry him with her for a time, to ensure their escape, and hoped it would be so.
Her eyes still burned but her vistion wa sstarting to improve. Still her mind was sharp, overturning diffrent startagies in her mind, she smiled brightly as she moved slightly torwards the stairs unable to make any real speed. "David, no one is going to die, Fluffy here has decided to be a hero, and so we will escape unharmed. Now, meld, David get upstairs, Find the guard. Take Him hostage, he is our key. With him i can drop, this one and head up to join you. We Can use the secound long enough to escape. " She said her eyes focussed on Ranger.
Aura was betting Ranger would keep to his form, a hero of sorts. If he did, they could escape and even if he folloed them it would not really matter. She had enjoyed his combat skills and actually did wish the fight could have continued without such a measure. Still a soilders jov was to be as effective as possible in combat, and the mission was not to dance, it was robbery. Part of her hoped he would follow them, she wnated to finnish their dance, and even if she lost, she figured he would be far to bad off to hurt Meld and David.
Aura calmly set the man on the ground, her shoulders burning from the effort, instead she put her shoe against the neck, She kept her eyes on Ranger the whole time. "I can make the blades from my feet as well" she said and as if to prove her point her aura shifted and a blade appeared against the mans neck, pulling in the aura from her hand, a secound blade came from her foot, keeping the man's neck ina scissor like move. "You seem to know combat, so you must know what would happon if you did somthing heroic and they snipped. The deals the same, we leave safely with our cash and no one has to die.
"Last time the humans cought me david they threw mw in a cage, then i escaped and watched them hunt down and murder all of my freinds. You se fluffy i watched as they slowly toruted my best freind until he sold us out, out first warning of the humans kindness? A morter in my good freinds stomach. The point being if anything happons to david, theirs no reason the humans need live at all. Impede david's withdrawl and the human dies and then i will bury you." She said her vice was cold and serious, she was holding back for more then just david though, the humans were the key to getting out of here fast and the talk, was tough simply to reinforce the idea that she would glady kill the guard. The story was even rather true though over a much greater span then her words made it sound. She would hold back for David and if this played out right she would either be safe and richer or dead, either outcome was fine.
David stared at the man and his weapon, listening to his every word. He realized trying to argue the fact was worthless, he would have to change the man's fundamental moral views, which under these circumstances was impossible. He simply stared at the man, withstanding the few moments of nail biting silence. Then it was broken, he was letting them go. "Thank you." He said slowly backing away nervously.
He was glad that Aura apparently didn't want to kill anyone, or at least had no intention to. As he backed by aura he listened to her story. He was stunned by it, he would never have guessed. He didn't say anything in return, couldn't. He just turned and walked into the stairwell, planning a hasty exit in his mind.
He watches as the male and Meld make their way out and following Aura's monologue he raises his hands briefly and then lowers them to his sides as he moved a step farther from Aura in a gesture showing he had given up. He wondered if his 9mm had the power to pierce her protective aura and wished he had a .50 caliber pistol on him as only with the biggest of rounds would he be willing to try and take her out while she has a hostage.
"I'd suggest hurrying, the police are bound to be here within moments. I can run fast and more than likely elude them, can you?"
He walked closer to the doors leading outside from the lobby and looked out, the flashing red and blues were visible. He looked back to Aura waiting for an opening, a moment where he could take a shot at her. If all else fails I will have to track them as they leave, she cannot haul the guard forever.
