Character

Personality: He is an incredibly smart person but doesn’t apply himself to much of what he does. He likes to keep to himself and hasn’t really made many friends since he left his home. Ryan prefers not to be noticed and prefers to be amongst the crowd; blend in with others. He sometimes wished he had what other people have such as their lives, family, etc. Even though he appears shy and reclusive, he really isn’t as he is quite nice and kind once people get to know him.
Hobbies/ Interests: Ryan likes to take out a sketch book and draw scenery that he thinks is good. He also likes to read, work out and browse the internet.

Fears/ phobias/ concerns: He fears that, because of his abilities, he will be treated as some sort of lower minority or worse. Outside of his powers, he is claustrophobic and hates being caught in enclosed areas as he will have a small panic attack.

Good/ bad/ neutral/ other: Ryan is neutral. Even though he seems like a general nice guy, he will side whichever side holds the most “cards”.

Mutations

Mutation description: Ryan has the ability to analyze powers and abilities and can duplicate it into his own body. He is able to understand how it works and functions and thus is able to store the knowledge of it. His body continually adapts to different kinds of abilities; allowing him to analyze and duplicate from abilities of the mind and body. His body is able to store multiple duplicated powers but up to a limit. Once the time limit is reached, he will lose all powers that he has gained and will start with zero again. To acquire abilities, he needs to be within 15 feet of the user and be able to feel, sense, or see it performed to be able to know how to do it.
Strengths: Able to analyze and copy up to three powers..
Weaknesses: Whatever power he duplicates into himself, he will need time for his body to adjust and accept it. Even with such ability, he is normally limited to using only one power at a time. He has the strengths of whatever he copies but also has the weaknesses and may not have knowledge on it. There is a time limit, however, on how long he can hold such power; equaling to 6 hours. In the case of having multiple powers, it will take, again, time for his body to switch over and position itself so he can use the other power in his arsenal.

History Of Your Character:

Ryan was born to a middle class family in Vancouver, Canada. Due to certain circumstances, his family had to move to New York, USA. It was here that he grew up and made friends. While he was in middle school, he managed to get in with the wrong crowd and would often steal from various places. He blamed this part of his life on his parents as they weren’t around as much as he wanted them to. Although a bit rebellious, he still had the feeling that what he was doing was wrong and didn’t take him long to quit stealing.
As Ryan progressed through high school he made different kinds of friends and was well known amongst people. He participated in sports, such as football, and even participated in a few clubs. It was during his junior year that he discovered his powers. One night, after a football game, Ryan had decided to walk home as he could savor his victory over the other school’s football team. He had scored the last touchdown and was damned proud of it. He saw an alleyway that could prove to be a shortcut but he got this tingling sensation that he should not go down there. As he continued on his original path, someone jumped in front of his path and threatened to kill him if he didn’t give him money. Frightened, Ryan threw everything out of his pocket at him but to no avail as he had nothing of value. The mugger had no gun or knife which confused Ryan as he didn’t know if he should run or fight.
A flicker of light caught Ryan’s attention as he could see flames sprout from the mugger’s hand. This guy was a mutant which scared Ryan even more. He had read up on the whole politics and mutant “problem” but never actually cared enough to worry about it.
Surprised and rather confused, Ryan could see how the ability was performed and could tell where it stemmed from and how it was generated. As the mugger raised his hand to threaten Ryan even more, he raised his hands in defense as if to block the attack with his hands. Suddenly a burst of flames shot out from Ryan’s hands as it engulfed the mugger and almost seemed to devour him. Seeing this as an opportunity, Ryan ran like hell to get away from the flame man. He ran all the way to his house and never spoke of what he did or saw to anybody. Over the years he had questioned what happened and got even more curious. Although he has no knowledge on how or why he could do what the mutant did, he knew how it was performed and tested doing the power over and over. He finally came to realize that he was a mutant, much to his dismay, and hid his ability from everybody hoping that perhaps it would just disappear.

Sample RP:
The crisp, cool morning air whirled around Ryan as he moved his hands into the pockets of his jacket. He retracted his head back against the collar then lifted up his jacket to cover the lower part of his face. It was still considered cold, in his eyes, and wanted to stay as warm as possible. He had just gotten off the night shift at where he worked and was a bit agitated and annoyed at his current attempt to stay warm. He could feel the burn in his eyes as if it was telling him that now was the time to sleep and definitely should be in bed. Ah, yes the bed he thought to himself as a wide smile grew on his face. He could almost imagine lying down on the soft mattress and pillow and falling straight to sleep in its warmth. His pace quickened as he rushed to get back to his place as quickly as possible to fulfill this dream of his. The thought of getting a car also entered his mind as he continued and cursed himself for not getting one earlier. Then again, problems had occurred and acquiring one on the amount he was making didn’t seem like the best idea.

He finally reached the steps that led to the building of his apartment and proceeded up them. Fumbling in his pocket, he pulled out a chain of keys and sifted through them trying to find the key to open the door. He decided to note to self about getting a more organized pattern for his keys instead of mixing them up on one chain. He finally found the key and slid it into the keyhole. With a little effort, he turned the key and pushed the door then immediately entered. He closed the door behind him and proceeded up another flight of stairs to his place. He spotted the number and letter that signified that it was his place and brought back memories over the confusion of it. He skimmed again through his keys and found the one to the door. Here he slid the key into the hole and again turned to open it. A creaking sound emanated from below him forcing him to look down with disappointment. He needed to call the landlord to get that fixed but right now he need to relax. Ryan slipped out of his jacket as well as is shoes and walked over to where his room was located and sat on the bed. It was here he often found refuge and it was here he could relax the most. He leaned back against his bed and closed his eyes. He would just lay back for a quick minute before getting back up to finish some other tasks me meant to do. He could feel himself relaxing and released a small sigh to help relax even more as he felt himself drift off to sleep.

Actually this character is more interresting. You say you can understand the power. Does that mean you could become more skilled with a person's power then the original because he knows how the power works?

thanks everyone for welcoming me!! lol. It seems my character's power is more alligned to Sylar from heroes eh? I guess so haha. As to max sure i would like to join you in a thread and also for the analyze and do better than the original user is something i don't thing arose when me and Calley was talking about it. I made it to where he could see how the technique is done but i guess he isn't at that extent to better it than the original user; if he can lol.
