The X-men run missions and work together with the NYPD, striving to maintain a peaceful balance between humans and mutants. When it comes to a fight, they won't back down from protecting those who need their help.
Haven presents itself as a humanitarian organization for activists, leaders, and high society, yet mutants are the secret leaders working to protect and serve their kind. Behind the scenes they bring their goals into reality.
From the time when mutants became known to the world, SUPER was founded as a black-ops division of the CIA in an attempt to classify, observe, and learn more about this new and rising threat.
The Syndicate works to help bring mutantkind to the forefront of the world. They work from the shadows, a beacon of hope for mutants, but a bane to mankind. With their guiding hand, humanity will finally find extinction.
Since the existence of mutants was first revealed in the nineties, the world has become a changed place. Whether they're genetic misfits or the next stage in humanity's evolution, there's no denying their growing numbers, especially in hubs like New York City. The NYPD has a division devoted to mutant related crimes. Super-powered vigilantes help to maintain the peace. Those who style themselves as Homo Superior work to tear society apart for rebuilding in their own image.

Hunter could smell the blood in the air. However Kitra kept going, showing good determination, determination that would keep her alive. She was a little off balance, but attacking again, a strike for his neck. This time Hunter stepped in close, inside her reach and locked his sword with hers at the hilt.
Driving up to keep her hands out of the way he reached out and grabbed her throat, “You now have five seconds,” he said menacingly, “Because that’s how long an opponent will spend taunting you from here before killing you, so you’d better act fast.”
He had blocked her strike effortlessly and locked hilts, pushing her arms above her head. Hunter grabbed her throat.
“You now have five seconds,” he said menacingly, “Because that’s how long an opponent will spend taunting you from here before killing you, so you’d better act fast.”
Kitra gasped out loud as her katana disappeared and ared hilted dagger appeared in midair then shoved itself into Hunter's right shoulder.

Calley
Ignored. Totally ignored.
Calley was not used to being totally ignored. He decided he didn't really like it much. Even if that whole throat-grab situation was rather attention holding--and he would know--he still felt like a nice loud cat-call should have gotten some reaction.
Pfft. Okay, round two.
Calley shouted the first thing that came to mind again: "Don't stab him! Punch him in the nose! The nose!"
...Maybe not the smartest thing to say. But it was true. Why waste time and energy getting all fancy-like when she had two perfectly good fists at her disposal? And Hunter's nose bothered him. Don't ask him why.
Hunter grunted in pain as the dagger hit him in the shoulder, but he smiled at Kitra. “Very good, as I’d have to release you like so,” he let go of her throat, “But,” swinging his left hand he punched her straight in the jaw. Not wanting to do her any serious harm he kept his strength at human levels, but that was sure to rattle a few teeth.
“I’d hit you like that in an anger fuelled response. You had no weapon and your guard was down after the attack. Just because I’m wounded doesn’t mean I’m out of the fight.” He left the dagger where it was a came at her again with the sword, this time trying a diagonal slash.
Hunter grunted then released her throat with a smile and a punch to her face. Kitra staggered backwards, nearly falling. He then slashed at her diagonally. A black hilted katana just managed to move it of course by slashing the opposite direction. Kitra then lost the katana and two knives took its place and she lunged at Hunter. She slashed for his neck and kept the other knife ready to defend. She vagually recalled hearing Calley, but, at the same time, not hearing him.

Calley
...Ignored again. Too bad. He'd really wanted to see her break the Scary Boss Man's nose. It was a stupid nose.
Words were failing Calley. Literally. They just weren't getting through. Calley spied a few waterbottles sitting harmlessly nearby. Okay, then. Round three.
Calley picked one up, weighed it in his hand, and then chucked it at Kitra's back. He made sure to uncap it first. Go, nefarious water missile, go!
Hunter was impressed that Kitra was still going, but he could see she couldn’t keep this up for long. He decided for a different approach and dropped his sword. Grabbing Kitra’s wrists he lifted hi leg and placed one foot on her stomach. Falling back he pulled Kitra down with him and kicked out, causing her sail overhead and flip over to land on her back.
As he did Calley launched his water based attack. The little spy had managed to time it so Kitra had just sailed out of the way so the bottle emptied itself over Hunter instead. Sitting up Hunter shot a look at Calley that, if looks could kill, Calley would be dead three times over. He then turned to see how Kitra was.
Hunter dropped his sword and grabbed her by the wrists pulling her backwards, kicked her in her stomach, sending her flying through the air.
Kitra landed on her right shoulder and screamed in pain. That was where the bounty hunter had scored a hit only the night before. She lay panting on the floor, now very, very pale looking.

Calley
Calley couldn't believe his eyes. Had he actually just doused the Boss Man? The Scary Boss Man? The Scary Violent Boss Man?
...Why yes. Yes, he had.
About the time Kitra collapsed on the floor in a panting heap, Calley sunk to the floor in a laughing heap. He understood that he was dead. He also understood, in a shining moment of clarity, that some things in this world were worth dying for.
Hunter could see that Kitra was hurt, and it wasn’t all on him. He hadn’t caused that shoulder wound, and it needed seeing to. After quickly assessing she had no neck injuries he scooped Kitra up and carried her over to the benches at the side. “Calley,” he called out without looking, “Fetch the first aid kit off the wall next to you and bring it here, now.”
He pulled off his now soaked vest, revealing his well muscled torso. He hadn’t so much as worked up a sweet in that session, so the only thing soaking the vest was water and blood. Ripping off the bloodied section he used the wet vest to clean Kitra’s shoulder wound while he waited for Calley to bring him the first aid kit.
She had just been slammed to the floor, her shoulder had ripped open, and she wondered idly why she was still concious. Kitra felt herself being picked up by Hunter and was carried to the bench and laid down upon it.
Kitra tilted her head up at Hunter, "Why are you all wet? There isn't any rainclouds in here or did we go outside?" She let out a whimpering giggle, "I really hurt, hehe. You know, it would be really scary if there was actually two of you." Kitra closed her eyes in hopes of stopping the world from spinning. She heard Hunter give instructions to Calley as he dabbed at her shoulder with his wet, ripped vest.

Calley
Calley's laughter faded, replaced by sort of a quizzical grin as Hunter delicately carried Kitra over to a bench. She wasn't actually hurt, was she? That wasn't possible. The Scary Boss Man hadn't wanted to actually hurt her--therefore, she shouldn't actually be hurt. Calley had faith in certain things. He had faith that Isabel would hurt him severely if she ever found out her Kitten was him, he had faith that Food was Good, and he had faith that anything Hunter wanted, Hunter got. He grabbed the first aid kit off the wall and obiediantly brought it over, but he still didn't quite get it. Kitra couldn't be hurt because Hunter didn't will it to be so.
"You okay, Kitra?" He asked mildly. He turned to the Boss Man, clearly confused. "She's okay, isn't she?"
“She picked up an injury when you face those bounty hunters,” Hunter explained as he opened the first aid kit and pulled out a bandage, “The wound has come open, but it’s not too serious and after I bind her up we’ll take her to the infirmary. She’ll be fine.”
As he was speaking Hunter had bound up her shoulder. He pulled out an ice pack, rubbed it between his hands to activate it and passed it to Calley. “Hold this against her jaw here,” he instructed, pointing to where he had hit her. After sticking a plaster over the small stomach wound and binding the tiny gash on her thigh he lifted her up and began to walk to the infirmary, slowly so Calley could hold the ice pack in place.
Kitra could barely feel anything anymore. Which was a good thing for she was really hurting. Hunter had bound her shoulder, thigh and had placed something on her small cut on her stomach as well. She vagually heard Calley speak again and smiled. "Calley, your worried about me?"
Kitra winced slightly as an ice pack was put against her jaw where Hunter had punched her just a bit ago. She felt herself be picked up. "Wherarewe going now Hunter?" Kitra wanted to frown, her words were slurring. "Sleeping sounds nice....I suppose I have to be somewhere to sleep though." She giggled once more before giong silent as she closed her eyes.

Calley
Calley did as he was ordered, keeping the ice pack in place as they headed towards the infirmary. Was he worried about Kitra? That was an interesting question, actually. He wasn't sure. He didn't like seeing people hurt, but that was different--it was more the seeing part that made him fidget. For some reason, he always pictured himself with the person's injuries, and it got to feel so real it could almost be him. He didn't actually care that the person was hurt, he just didn't like that feeling. But this might have been slightly different. Calley had sort of been hoping they could be friends--it seemed unhealthy that the only people he talked to were Hunter, Doc Jimmy, and people he was blatantly lying to and spying on. So as a prospective friend... yeah. Yeah, maybe he actually was worried.
"Sorry about the cat-call," he offered, not sure whether she could hear him any more.
