The X-men run missions and work together with the NYPD, striving to maintain a peaceful balance between humans and mutants. When it comes to a fight, they won't back down from protecting those who need their help.
Haven presents itself as a humanitarian organization for activists, leaders, and high society, yet mutants are the secret leaders working to protect and serve their kind. Behind the scenes they bring their goals into reality.
From the time when mutants became known to the world, SUPER was founded as a black-ops division of the CIA in an attempt to classify, observe, and learn more about this new and rising threat.
The Syndicate works to help bring mutantkind to the forefront of the world. They work from the shadows, a beacon of hope for mutants, but a bane to mankind. With their guiding hand, humanity will finally find extinction.
Since the existence of mutants was first revealed in the nineties, the world has become a changed place. Whether they're genetic misfits or the next stage in humanity's evolution, there's no denying their growing numbers, especially in hubs like New York City. The NYPD has a division devoted to mutant related crimes. Super-powered vigilantes help to maintain the peace. Those who style themselves as Homo Superior work to tear society apart for rebuilding in their own image.

Her eyes widened as Hunter smiled but deflected her first dagger then returned her second right over her head taking strands of her hair with it.
Upon charging Hunter, he had done an impressive cartwheel to aviod her strikes. Kitra lost her metal poles as he had used his bo to smack her wrists. He then dropped into a crouch behind her.
<What the? Fine let's go out with some style. I don't have much longer anyway, too dizzy.>
Kitra had two daggers appear and she spun around and lunged for Hunter. She was aiming for his throat and his chest, but fell short as her balance was again lost and she passed out from the dizziness.
Still on one hand Hunter flipped away from Kitra to avoid the daggers. Landing with his back facing to her he span around, his bo ready to defend when he spotted Kitra passed out on the floor, her creations nowhere in sight.
Moving next to her he set down his bo and rolled her onto her back. His enhanced senses could tell that she was still alive, and seemed to just be exhausted. Sliding his hand under her head he began to shake her gently, trying to wake her.
Her stamina needed some work. The fight had been going for little more than five minutes and she was out cold. He hadn’t even hit her solidly with an attack. When she came round he would give her some time to recover before starting stamina training.
Kitra woke to being shaken lightly by her boss. Her eyes widened as she sat up, "Sir, I am so sorry. I can do one or the other but doing both at once...it's hard for me Sir."
Kitra had sighed as she pulled her legs up under her and sat in seiza position. "Sir, once again my apologies. Um, are you mad at me for using other weaponery than our bo's? I wasn't sure and I um...."
Kitra stopped and waited for Hunter's response, she was rather confused at this point.
Hunter gave Kitra a reassuring smile and helped her into a sitting position. “That’s fine Kitra, we’re here to train. I need to know your limits before I can push you beyond them. As for using other weapons, I like how you adapted to try and win. I assure you that when sparring with me you will never need to hold back, you won’t hurt me.”
“Now, we’ll take a break, let you get your strength back before we start on some endurance exercises.” Rising he headed over to one of the benches at the edge of the training area and motioned for Kitra to sit next to him. One of the trainers brought over two bottles of water and an energy bar for Kitra. Hunter sipped his water as he let Kitra recover.
“Ok, time for some endurance training. On your feet,” Hunter said pleasantly rising himself. “For this I’ll need to see the drawings from which you create weapons. If you’ll go and get those for me we can begin.”
He wanted to know whether it was the creation of the various weapons that had drained her. She had during the course of the fight created a bo, four daggers and two poles. One of Kitra’s greatest advantages was the multitude of weapons she could summon, but that advantage would be of little use if summoning the weapons drained her.
At Hunter's words, she had strode over to her bags and had grabbed the four sketchpads she had in there and walked back and handed them to him.
"Sir, I have all sorts of weaponery in there and my drawings do fade after so many uses. The more complicated, the quicker they fade in my sketchs. I also have simple weapons as well. Take your pick Sir."
Hunter looked through the drawings. All were of exceptional quality, though some a bit faded. Eventually Hunter settled on five weapons. A scythe, the one she had severed the bounty hunter’s arm with, the bo she had used earlier, a katana, a throwing dagger and a long knife.
Passing the images to Kitra he explained the exercise. “Here’s what we’re going to do. I will call out one of those weapons, scythe, bo, katana, dagger or knife, and you will create it. I’ll then call another of the weapons and you banish the one you have and create another. We’ll go on for as long as you think you can. When you don’t think you can summon another weapon without blacking out we stop. Are you ready?”
Hunter smiled at Kitra and said, “Relax, and stop calling me sir. Hunter will suffice while we’re training. You only need to call me sir when we’re on a mission.” He gave Kitra another reassuring smile before starting.
“Katana,” he called, then waited five seconds before calling, “Bo. Dagger. Scythe. Katana. Knife. Dagger. Bo. Scythe.” He left five seconds between each instruction and watched Kitra closely for signs of fatigue.
Hunter moved forward and caught Kitra as her knees began to give way. Guiding her to the bench he sat her down and passed her her water. “That was good, you created three different weapons before starting to feel the strain and nine in total before you had to stop.”
Sitting next to her he said, “Take another break, catch your breath and we’ll try again. A couple of rounds of this and we should see some improvement in your stamina. Once we get your stamina up we’ll work on specific training with each weapon. Which one would you like to be trained in first?”
She was caught by Hunter and was very grateful for she hurt, "Thank you."
She sipped her water thoughtfully, "Well Hunter, I would like to know the art of swordsmanship better. That has always interested me and and actual sword would be a better weapon to use then a boken correct?"
Kitra had paused to sip her water then swallowed, "And more excersises would be excellent...after a break of course."
“Of course,” Hunter reassured her, “No sense in pushing you too hard, I’d like it if you could walk away from out training sessions. As for swordsmanship, I am the worlds foremost and will gladly impart some of my wisdom.”
It had been a while since he had had a pupil to teach that art of the sword. He looked forward to the opportunity to train someone. It wouldn’t be easy however, and Kitra would probably pick up some minor cuts along the way.
