The X-men run missions and work together with the NYPD, striving to maintain a peaceful balance between humans and mutants. When it comes to a fight, they won't back down from protecting those who need their help.
Haven presents itself as a humanitarian organization for activists, leaders, and high society, yet mutants are the secret leaders working to protect and serve their kind. Behind the scenes they bring their goals into reality.
From the time when mutants became known to the world, SUPER was founded as a black-ops division of the CIA in an attempt to classify, observe, and learn more about this new and rising threat.
The Syndicate works to help bring mutantkind to the forefront of the world. They work from the shadows, a beacon of hope for mutants, but a bane to mankind. With their guiding hand, humanity will finally find extinction.
Since the existence of mutants was first revealed in the nineties, the world has become a changed place. Whether they're genetic misfits or the next stage in humanity's evolution, there's no denying their growing numbers, especially in hubs like New York City. The NYPD has a division devoted to mutant related crimes. Super-powered vigilantes help to maintain the peace. Those who style themselves as Homo Superior work to tear society apart for rebuilding in their own image.

The little bell above the door dinged as Skye walked into the shop, her mohawk lying flat against the left side of her head; a bright yellow that occasionally flickered to a nervous purple and back. The lights radiating from her hands followed suit, pulsing faintly. Clad in her acid washed denim jacket, a bright pink low-cut tee shirt, a matching pair of jeans and black boots, she looked just like she'd stepped out of a punk-rock music video. In her hand, she held a folded piece of paper as she looked around the room, taking a breath.
She'd wanted a tattoo for awhile, but was only now getting around to doing something about it. Maybe it was because the emotional nonsense she was going through was motivating her, or maybe she found it from elsewhere, but the fact was the young woman was here now. And she'd finally actually decided on something. She took another breath as she approached, her hair now a more steady yellow, showcasing her excitement to any who knew her.
To those who didn't, it would probably just look like her hands lit up, and her hair changed colors.

Walk in todays were on her because she didn't have a client for once. She is usually booked most of the days because of her high success rate and word of mouth. So far though, there hasn't been a walk in so Rayne was in her room working on a drawing she wanted to perfect for a client in a few days. There was just a piece of something she didn't like, something she couldn't get just right.
Hearing the bell to the front door though, Rayne knew that her drawing was going to have to wait. Whether it was a client for someone else she needed to greet or if it was a walk in needing something. Putting down her pencil and placing the paper in the folder for safe keeping, Rayne walks out and to the front desk.
Rayne doesn't have a mohawk, just straight white hair, tight ripped dark blue jeans with a red tank and a black leather jacket. "Welcome, how can I help you?" Rayne says nothing or gives second glances at the color changing hair and skin. She has seen a lot of things.
When a woman emerged from the back, Skye bit her lip a little as the purple lights began to pulse a little more. Well, this was happening. She took a breath and opened up the piece of paper she was holding, revealing a sketch she'd done: The concept was simple, just a rainbow in the shape of a heart, with the name "Prism" taking up what would have been the blank space in the center of the heart.
"I was...I was thinking of getting something like this either on my shoulder or my thigh or something," she said, her hair flicking to an excited yellow because she was actually going to do this. "I don't have any experience with tattoos, but I've wanted one for a long time," she explained.
Her breathing calmed, replaced with an almost giddy excitement.

Rayne could sense that this girl was nervous to be here at first with the bite of her lip before she handed the paper over. That's normal for a lot of people. Usually for not knowing what the artist thinks of the drawing, if they could do it, if the tattoo will look like the drawing...things like that. Lucky for this girl, Rayne has a few ideas she wants to toss to her and ask some questions.
Taking the paper from the girl Rayne places it on the counter so she can smooth it out if its been folded. While she is looking at it, glances at the girl with a small grin. "Don't you worry about it being your first time. It happens a lot here."
Ok now its time for her to ask some questions about the tattoo since she never did elaborate on it much. "Ok this is doable. For the rainbow, are you thinking straight color lines or a blending of colors or a water color type? The word Prism, did you want is just black outlined so the rainbow is more visible or did you want the word one color?"
She is going to start with those questions, since there is no reason to bombard her with questions. She does have a few more.
Skye smiled and nodded. "Thanks," she said quietly. She didn't seem to mind Skye's powers, but then again tattoo artists probably saw more than their fair share of craziness. The yellow lights pulsed, showing how excited she was at the thought of finally getting her tattoo; especially now that she was talking over what she wanted. Most would have probably frowned upon her getting her codename getting inked on her, but with her...vibrant...abilities, there really was no point in keeping a secret identity.
"Probably blend them a bit, and just black outline for Prism, I think," she said after thinking it over a bit. "I'm thinking maybe my left shoulder?" That seemed like a good place for it, the more she thought about it.

Rayne nods as she answers her questions. Ok it seems like she knows what she wants when asked. Before Rayne can ask her where she wants the tattoo, its already answered. Good. Even better. "Ok do you want an outline around the heart or let it flow?" This should be the last questions, at least about the tattoo anyways.
It should be a quick tattoo, as in less than 2 hours. So long as this girl doesn't have a low pain tolerance and all that. "How is your pain tolerance? The shoulder hurts less which is good, but I need to be aware of the levels so I know how fast or slow to go." It also lets her know the pressure to use and how many times to go over something.
When walk ins come inside here, usually they just want something they made up in their head and she has to draw it out a few times for it to be perfect for them, how they imagined it. Always forget something to add to it. Rayne is glad that this girl brought in a picture to use.
"I think just let it flow; kinda like how an actual rainbow just settles into the sky," she explained, the lights on her hands and her hair becoming a content indigo that illuminated the immediate area.
"I have a decent pain tolerance," Skye answered, taking in what the other woman was saying. "So I'd like to think it shouldn't be so bad," she said with a smirk.
It was obvious that Skye had been thinking about this for a long time; the nervousness at first had been merely because she didn't know what she was doing and was wrapping her brain around the fact that she was actually going through with this.

Looking at the drawing again, Rayne has to agree that letting the colors flow would be the best idea. Keeping it together would look good, but it wouldn't be the same as opening it up. "Ok, I think that would be the best choice." She will make a drawing herself on the paper that she can put on skin so that she can see what it would look like without color though, to be 100% sure.
Rayne nods at her pain tolerance. "Ok good. It wont be too bad with the shoulder." Not being one to downplay the pain, Rayne likes to prepare her clients for everything so they cant surprise her and she doesn't surprise them. Surprise in a tattoo parlor are never good. Whether in the drawing itself not looking like it should or the client who twitches and flinches with each strike of the needle.
Taking the paper in her hand, Rayne stands back up from a leaning position and offers her hand to the girl. "Alright, my name is Rayne and I'll be the one taking care of your tattoo today. Why dont you have a seat while I go draw this out so you can see what it will look like when its all done. Give it a final yes or no, change something if need be."
"Okay, cool. I'm no professional but I wanted to at least give you something to work with," she said with a small shrug, her politeness more than likely clashing with the punk-image she physically embodied right now. "Yeah, it shouldn't be too bad; like I said I'm tougher than I look, but I'll definitely let you know if I find out otherwise." She gave another smile.
Her glowing orange hand shook the tattoo artist's, though aside from the fact that it emitted light, it was just like shaking any other hand. "Thanks; I'm Skye," she answered, taking in the other woman's words with a nod before going over and taking a seat.
Skye pulled out her phone, flipping through text messages; she thought about texting Emily and telling her what she was doing, but she figured she'd just let it be a surprise. Not that many people would see this. Skye just knew she wanted this for a long time, and it was finally time to try something new.

Rayne has seen so many clashing personalities with peoples appearances that nothing really fazes her much. Big burly biker guys or bouncers who come in here getting a tattoo and they can be extremely polite or have very low pain tolerances. Then again she has also had business guys who look like they were raised right come in here like a jack ass. A mixture of things. "I can work with this Skye. I'll be back in about 15 minutes, give or take."
Turning around Rayne heads back to her own room and puts the paper down before gathering all her pencils and paper then turning on the table light. Places her paper over the drawing and traces the outline so make sure its exactly what she wants before taking the drawing and putting it on the wall with a tack in a corner to not ruin the original then begins her own additions, taking some things away and adding them too.
About 20 minutes later, comes back out and over to the desk. "Skye." Says her name to call her over before placing finished drawing on the counter for her to look at. Its not colored, just sketched out. "This is what I have right now. Let me know if you want anything changed."

Skye nodded as Rayne went back to touch up the sketch Skye had given her. She'd swapped to scrolling through pictures, though she hadn't taken many in awhile. There were a few of her and Emily, mostly pictures that she'd swiped when the other girl wasn't fully paying attention. Some of her neice, and then she got into some old wounds. Her and Mari took *a lot* of pictures together. Her lights turned blue as she scrolled.
Delete. Delete. Delete. Delete. Delete. She got to one that was just Mari posing outside of the theater one night before one of their first dates. And another that was close up and more casual. She...just scrolled past those two. She knew she shouldn't have but she kept them. She couldn't bear not to.
"Skye." The voice snapped her out of her train of thought(thankfully), and she stood up and walked over to look over the picture. It wasn't colored, of course, but it matched what Skye was going for, and with a little more artistic prowess than she admittedly possessed.
"Oh yeah, that looks perfect," she said with a smile, the blue slowly working it's way back to orange.

One shot one kill on this drawing. Perfect. No wasting time on anything else then. "Ok, if you are sure, lets get started." Rayne moves to lift a latch and pushes open the waste size wall that blocks people from just walking in, so that Skye can come inside. "Follow me and we can get started."
Once Skye gets through, Rayne closes and puts the lock back in place before leading her to her studio. Inside the walls are a darker purple with a white desk like dresser and paint all over the top, in order of colors. There is a black table towards the corner and in the center is a black leather chair, like a message parlor would have. There is also a small metal rolling cart with paper towels and a squirt bottle and cheep razor. Bendable lamp near the cart and a few more in the corner.
"Ok you can have a seat on the chair if it works with you, or I can shift it around for the table if you would rather lay down."

"Yeah, I'm sure," Skye said with a nod of her head, hair and lights alternating between excited yellow and nervous purple. This was new to her, and yet she was enthralled. Hell, maybe this would end up being the first of many?
With a nod, she sat backwards in the chair, pulling her shirt up to expose her back and shoulder so that Rayne could work. The lights settled on that nervous purple, though her body relaxed and she closed her eyes, focusing back on happy thoughts.

Rayne gathers all the colors she is going to need and puts them on a roller table on top of paper towels that's easily in reach and not too high in the air. Next she grabs a few more paper towels and places them behind the ink then grabs a few different tattoo guns and different needle styles and lays them neatly and in order.
Glances at Skye to see hows shes doing before fulling turning to her. "I know it might be uncomfortable, but for this tattoo your shirt will have to come off that one side completely and your bra strap has to also be off that side. I can close the door to the room if it helps." She can leave the bra on, but the shoulder strap has to come off at the least and the back side pulled down some. The shirt, she can just take her arm out of it and pull it over her head and leave it on the other side. Rayne doesn't want it getting in the way and messing up the tattoo or getting ink or blood on it. Ruining shirts is not what she does.
After telling her this, Rayne goes back to getting a pair of gloves and some wipes. Giving Skye some privacy to do as she asked is just the right thing to do. Some girls come in here and when they need to take off their clothes so she can get the tattoo done right where they want it, they get all shy. While others just don't care if they get fully naked. Guys just don't care in general since, according to her male coworkers and the clients shes had, shes hot. Why not show off.

Skye already had her back to the chair, so it would be fine, right? And it was to achieve what she needed done. She wasn't nervous, or shy by any means about this, but having a girlfriend sort of made her rethink a lot of things. "Okay. I think I'll just lose them for the time being, if you don't mind," she said idly, staying exactly like she was, but leaning back enough to remove the shirt and bra, but dropped them within arm reach.
She shivered slightly as the air hit her bare skin, but she resumed leaning against the chair so that nothing was exposed, and she closed her eyes and focused again.
"Alright, I'm ready," she assured, preparing for what was to come, but still trying to stay as relaxed as possible. She'd remembered hearing that it was better on both if she didn't tense up.
