The X-men run missions and work together with the NYPD, striving to maintain a peaceful balance between humans and mutants. When it comes to a fight, they won't back down from protecting those who need their help.
Haven presents itself as a humanitarian organization for activists, leaders, and high society, yet mutants are the secret leaders working to protect and serve their kind. Behind the scenes they bring their goals into reality.
From the time when mutants became known to the world, SUPER was founded as a black-ops division of the CIA in an attempt to classify, observe, and learn more about this new and rising threat.
The Syndicate works to help bring mutantkind to the forefront of the world. They work from the shadows, a beacon of hope for mutants, but a bane to mankind. With their guiding hand, humanity will finally find extinction.
Since the existence of mutants was first revealed in the nineties, the world has become a changed place. Whether they're genetic misfits or the next stage in humanity's evolution, there's no denying their growing numbers, especially in hubs like New York City. The NYPD has a division devoted to mutant related crimes. Super-powered vigilantes help to maintain the peace. Those who style themselves as Homo Superior work to tear society apart for rebuilding in their own image.

In her shop Rayne is extremely professional. Honestly she has had to do chest pieces and groin and butt pieces before so people have to disrobe for that too, though usually underwear can be left on, depending on the tattoo and placement. So when Skye gives a hesitation and she hears the tone of her voices, Rayne waits until she hears clothes drop then turns to look at her.
"You don't need to worry about being partially nude in front of me. You are here for a tattoo. Your placement requires the spot to be bare completely and its easier if there are no restrictions or objects in the way. I will not hit on my clients nor with I ogle you or proposition you. You are safe here." Rayne says this quit yet professionally. She wanted to get her point across and yet make her feel better about this.
Standing, Rayne goes to the door and shuts it before returning to her chair. Pulling on her gloves, Rayne grabs the alcohol wipes and rolls over to Skye. "I'm going to clean your shoulders with an alcohol wipe. It will be a bit cold."

"I'm normally not nervous about that sort of thing, honestly. This is just new and...it's a little chilly in here," Skye replied with a small smile, looking over her shoulder at the tattoo artist. "I appreciate it," the girl added kindly as her head turned to face in front of her, bracing against the cold wipe, though a small squeak still escaped her lips; she was ready, but that initial shock was always a doozy.
Immediately afterwards though, the girl relaxed again, closing her eyes and preparing herself for Rayne to get to work. For the most part, Skye would remain calm and still, the lights occasionally changing colors to match her hair as her mind wandered and she focused on various thoughts.

"Apologies about the cold, the shop can get too warm with a lot if people here at once. I can put a blanket on the chair for you to lay on if think it would help?" Plus she usually doesn't run cold with her mutation, her animal sides keeping her warmer.
Rayne places the gloves on the small table beside her then reaches behind her and opens up a drawer and pulls out a black fuzzy blanket. Holds it out to her if she wants it. She knows the table and chair can be cold, shes had her arm done and it took a few sessions. It probably could have been finished in just two, but she wanted it to be done right and flawlessly so she is glad she made it out for three sessions.
If she takes the blanket from her, Rayne will look away so she can sit up and place the blanket down. If she does not take it, Rayne will place the blanket back in the drawer. Either or Rayne will put on her gloves after and wipe down the spot where she will be placing the tattoo. Once she has wiped down the spot she grabs her petroleum jelly, grabs some with her finger and wipes it down on the same spot she just cleaned. It will help keep the ink in and healing better later on.
Rayne grabs her ink gun but doesn't start it. "I'm going to start the gun so you can hear it, just let me know when you are ready for me to start." Once shes done saying this, she starts up the gun but doesn't start the tattooing just yet. The sound of the gun can cause people to flinch the first time and if she started the tattooing part then, the tattoo would already be ruined with a jagged line from the flinching.
