The X-men run missions and work together with the NYPD, striving to maintain a peaceful balance between humans and mutants. When it comes to a fight, they won't back down from protecting those who need their help.
Haven presents itself as a humanitarian organization for activists, leaders, and high society, yet mutants are the secret leaders working to protect and serve their kind. Behind the scenes they bring their goals into reality.
From the time when mutants became known to the world, SUPER was founded as a black-ops division of the CIA in an attempt to classify, observe, and learn more about this new and rising threat.
The Syndicate works to help bring mutantkind to the forefront of the world. They work from the shadows, a beacon of hope for mutants, but a bane to mankind. With their guiding hand, humanity will finally find extinction.
Since the existence of mutants was first revealed in the nineties, the world has become a changed place. Whether they're genetic misfits or the next stage in humanity's evolution, there's no denying their growing numbers, especially in hubs like New York City. The NYPD has a division devoted to mutant related crimes. Super-powered vigilantes help to maintain the peace. Those who style themselves as Homo Superior work to tear society apart for rebuilding in their own image.

Just Me, My Sweetheart, and a Pair of Gloves (Blaine)
It was hard to explain, but it was almost as if he could....feel....her eyes on him. There wasn't a better word for it, but it made his heart flutter; almost like that adrenaline rush where he could hear his heart in his ears, but it was...lighter. Different. He watched her hands run up and down his torso, and it made him smile.
He was cursing the finer aspects of his mutation right now, as he usually did when contact with Lee was involved. (Though earlier he was rather glad he couldn't feel, because some of those hits she'd landed on him sounded like they'd be a doozy.) He smiled as he saw her bite her lip, and that look on her face.
He leaned down, so his face was only mere inches from hers. "I don't think you're checking for injuries anymore..." he murmured, smirking lightly.
Lee’s lip was still between her teeth, her fingers slowly making their way to traverse the entirety of Blaine’s chest and stomach. And so far, she didn’t see any injuries, but she did feel some very well defined muscles under the skin. As her fingers moved, Lee felt her heart starting to beating faster, her breath shallower.
Then Lee heard Blaine’s voice, and she turned her eyes up to look at his, saw the smirk on his lips. ”Oh no, I am looking for injuries,” Lee breathed. ”But so far, everything looks good. Very good.”
Looking at Blaine, his face so close to hers since he had leaned down, Lee felt her breath catch in her throat. He knew she wasn’t really looking for injuries, and based on the look in his eyes, he was completely alright with that. Then, her fingers still lightly touching his stomach, Lee leaned forward, eyes closing, to kiss Blaine.
He smirked. "I'm sure it does," he teased lightly. And then, her eyes closed, and he recognized her body language by now. Blaine leaned in, meeting her halfway as they kissed for a moment. He held her close, gently. His hands barely brushed against her as they trailed along her back and neck, occasionally brushing through her hair.
Part of the gentleness was him being sweet, but the other part was aware that they'd just spent the better part of the afternoon beating the hell out of each other. Though, the way his mind worked, beating the **** out of each other was just as good as an 'I love you,' because it showed the level of trust and respect he had for her.
Though he'd never admit it, seeing how she reacted when it was merely implied...he could say that he truly was falling in love. While he wasn't sure what to do about it, the former fighter decided to keep it to himself, and just go about life as usual. It anything became of it, great. If not....well, so be it.
Lee could only smile when Blaine agreed that what she was seeing looked very good. He did put a lot of effort into it, after all, with all the training he did.
As she leaned in for the kiss, Lee felt Blaine’s lips sooner than she expected; he must have leaned in as well, and Lee smiled as they kissed. A moment later, Lee felt his arms around her, his hands on her back, and his soft touch made her shiver against him.
If she were to think about it, Lee would have marveled at how gentle Blaine’s touch was, how lightly his fingers were against her skin. Especially after how hard they had been hitting each other earlier that day.
But Lee wasn’t thinking about that, her focus was entirely on the way his hands felt on her back, how his skin felt under her hands as they moved around to his back to hold herself close to him. How his lips felt against hers.
He held her close as they kissed, and his hands slid under her shirt to rest on her bare back--he was getting so much better at that. Actually...he found he was getting better at this whole thing. Maybe soon they'd be as close to 'normal' as they possibly could.
He smiled a little, pushing her shirt up slightly--
Suddenly the door creaked open, and there was a very brief flash of green light that snapped him out of his train of thought.
"Guys...you have a room. Why do you have to do that on the one piece of personal space I have?"
Blaine looked over, quickly moving his hands to his pockets and clearing his throat.
"Oh, uh...hey Skye..." he murmured, going to the kitchen to grab a beer. Popping it open, he just stayed there, much like a teenager who'd been caught in a similar predicament.
Lee didn’t even notice the sound the door made as it opened. Nor did she feel the energy approaching her. She was far too wrapped up, literally and figuratively, in Blaine. The way that he was kissing her. The way his touch, almost lighter than she could ever remember feeling from him, made her shiver in his arms. The way that her heart felt like it was going to beat out of her chest as she stood there, her pulse faster than it had been at any point while they were sparring.
But the one thing that Lee did notice was the voice. Asking why they couldn’t use the bedroom.
Lee jumped, the movement putting more weight on her injured foot, and she winced even as she blushed bright red. It’s not like they had forgotten where they were, that there were other people around them out in public...but the inattention Lee had had was pretty damn close to that.
By the time that Lee was able to react with more than a blush, Blaine had already escaped to the kitchen. That wouldn’t be so easy for Lee, though, so with a sigh she simply sat back down on the couch, reapplying the ice pack as she propped her foot back up. If only there was a way to cool down the rest of her that easily.
”Oh, we were at the gym,” Lee kind of mumbled with a shrug, not exactly looking over at Skye yet. Her blush was still too fresh to feel comfortable with that. ”And since he sparred, he needed to be checked for injuries…” Yeah, cause that would help their case, even if technically that was how it had started.

The instant the green light flashed, it faded, but her hair was still the very startled, shocked, green. Sure, she knew adults did that sort of thing--she partook, herself every now and again--but did they forget she lived there too? Which also posed the question how often--nope. Not going there. I still sleep there for now...
And then....Blaine escaped into the kitchen, and Skye sat on the coffee table as she listened, quirking a brow at her 'Aunt.' "What happened, did he get punched in the tongue?" Skye asked, her inner sass quickly bubbling to the surface. "I mean, Jesus...if that's how you search for injuries, I'm wondering what kinda fight you two were in," she added dryly, her startled green turning to it's seemingly usual shade of purple.
Meanwhile, Blaine just stayed in the kitchen area, sipping very slowly on his beer.
Lee saw Skye sit on the coffee table not far from where she had her leg propped up with the ice pack on her ankle. And Lee did not miss the sass and attitude that came along with Skye’s question. But at least Lee’s embarrassment was fading. Though, based on the fact that Blaine still hadn’t returned from the kitchen, Lee guessed that his hadn’t.
”The tongue? No,” Lee replied with a shake of her head. Then she smiled a bit, thinking back. ”But he did take a damn good uppercut to the chin. So he might have bitten his tongue,” Lee finished with a shrug.
But then Skye continued, and Lee blushed again. She couldn’t help it. Then shook her head. ”Nothing like that,” Lee replied, embarrassed again. At least she wasn’t as embarrassed. ”It was just a normal sparring match, though it was a little intense at times.”

She blushed a little more at the explanation. "Right...And making out with him helps....how?" she asked quirking a brow. She shook her head, getting up and sitting in the chair for a moment. "I'm not here to judge; I mean, I just moved in after all. But just because we share a living area doesn't mean I wanna see you guys..."
Her hands flashed purple again as she sort of looked away.
About that time, Blaine finished his beer, and made his way to the living room, stopping behind the couch. "Everything okay in here?"
Lee’s blush had been disappearing. At least it had been until Skye asked how making out helped to make sure Blaine hadn’t bitten his tongue while they had sparred. ”Fair enough,” Lee replied, her cheeks still flushed. ”It’s not...I mean we weren’t planning that, especially not for you to walk in on.”
Then Lee felt Blaine coming back from the kitchen. ”’Bout time you came back,” Lee mumbled under her breath without turning around before Blaine had spoken. Not that she was upset, it was just… he’d run when she wasn’t exactly able to. ”Yeah, everything’s fine,” Lee answered Blaine, her voice louder this time. ”Skye just didn’t appreciate the show.”
Skye gave a nervous laugh as she leaned back in the chair, letting it recline as she propped her hands behind her head. "I know. Just remember you guys have a roommate now~" she teased lightly, her hair slowly transitioning to a playful orange instead of the usual purple.
Blaine blushed a little. "Well...I wasn't exactly trying to give her one," he replied. "Though I think I'm going to go lie down for awhile."
Skye nodded, grabbing the remote and turning on the television as Blaine gave Lee a discreet nod and made his way to the bedroom.
’They’ had a roommate now? That sounded just so wrong, Lee didn’t actually live there. But, a second later, she realized just how accurate the comment was; Lee was there often enough that it was close enough to the truth. Plus, it wasn’t as if they had ever really gone to her place for...the kind of activities that Skye was requesting she not see any of.
But in a way...Lee was really only going back to her apartment most days because Kevin was there and she needed to get him up and ready for school. If it wasn’t for her son, would she be at Blaine’s even more than she currently was? Would she actually be living there, more than she already kind of was?
And then Blaine was saying that he was going to go lie down. Looking over at him quickly, Lee saw his slight nod, and one corner of her mouth turned up in a small smile. Skye had turned the TV on, so Lee just gave Blaine a slight nod in return before pushing herself slowly to her feet. ”That sounds like a good idea, actually,” Lee said softly. ”The gym took more out of me than I expected.”
Slowly, still limping slightly from her ankle, Lee followed Blaine toward his bedroom, closing the door behind her. And as she heard the latch click, she smiled up at Blaine, her heart already pounding in anticipation.
Blaine smirked to himself seeing that Lee had gotten the hint, and when she followed him, he did note that she was still limping, but it seemed to be getting better, at least. So his record of not causing any lasting damage still stood. The door closed behind her, and he smiled back. His arms wrapped around her, pulling her close as he kissed her a bit more passionately than usual, though still maintaining his focus so as to not hurt her or make it uncomfortable. Gradually, he led her closer to the bed.
Meanwhile, as soon as Skye heard the door shut, she had the remote in hand, turning the TV up loud as she plopped on the couch, pulling the blanket over her. She wanted to lie down too, but she wanted an actual nap...
It did not take long once she had closed the door behind her for two things to happen: on the other side of the door, Lee heard the TV being turned up even as she felt Blaine’s arms wrapping around her, pulling her close. Her heart had already been beating faster, but as she felt her body pressed up against Blaine’s, Lee’s breath caught in her throat.
Then he was kissing her, and it was more passionate than it had been earlier. Lee’s stomach felt like it flipped, and then flopped back, and she made a little noise against Blaine’s lips as she wrapped her arms around his neck.
This was...Lee didn’t even think Blaine had ever kissed her this passionately before, and she tightened her arms around his neck, pulling herself closer to him. But she didn’t notice that he was slowly leading them over to the bed; most of her attention was on the kiss, and feeling how his body felt pressed against hers. What little bit of conscious thought was left was simply trying to figure out how to catch her breath without breaking the kiss.
Blaine walked slowly, carefully leading her to the bed without breaking the kiss. It was harder for him than it would have been for anyone else, but that was part of why he took it slow. He used his peripheral vision, on top of looking out for her injured ankle. But at the same time, he could hear his heart pounding in his ears as his breath sharpened. It was almost like that adrenaline rush he got before a fight--even the one that day, but....this one was different.
He sat on the bed, breaking the kiss and letting his fingers find the bottom of her shirt, moving to pull it over her head. But like the kiss, it wasn't quite as gentle as usual, it was almost...eager.
