The X-men run missions and work together with the NYPD, striving to maintain a peaceful balance between humans and mutants. When it comes to a fight, they won't back down from protecting those who need their help.
Haven presents itself as a humanitarian organization for activists, leaders, and high society, yet mutants are the secret leaders working to protect and serve their kind. Behind the scenes they bring their goals into reality.
From the time when mutants became known to the world, SUPER was founded as a black-ops division of the CIA in an attempt to classify, observe, and learn more about this new and rising threat.
The Syndicate works to help bring mutantkind to the forefront of the world. They work from the shadows, a beacon of hope for mutants, but a bane to mankind. With their guiding hand, humanity will finally find extinction.
Since the existence of mutants was first revealed in the nineties, the world has become a changed place. Whether they're genetic misfits or the next stage in humanity's evolution, there's no denying their growing numbers, especially in hubs like New York City. The NYPD has a division devoted to mutant related crimes. Super-powered vigilantes help to maintain the peace. Those who style themselves as Homo Superior work to tear society apart for rebuilding in their own image.

Lee didn't even notice the little gasp because she was too busy climbing onto Blaine's lap at the time. But she definitely noticed how Blaine's hands slipped onto her bare skin under her shirt.
Feeling that, Lee moaned softly against Blaine's lips. Her hand that was not entwined in his hair reaching down his back, slowly working at pulling his tshirt up. It was about then that the thought that this would be easier on his bed floated through her mind.
And Lee's eyes shot open. Breathing heavily, she reluctantly pulled back from the kiss, her hands releasing Blaine's hair and shirt.
”I think I need some coffee,” Lee whispered, her voice a little shaky. Without waiting for an answer, Lee climbed to her feet a little unsteadily and made her way to the kitchen.
Once there instead of starting to make coffee, Lee leaned her hands on the counter in front of the sink, head down, trying to calm her heart and her breathing.
He was so caught up in what was going on, that he barely heard her say she needed coffee. But alas, he let go, and just like that she was gone, and in the kitchen. Though mildly disappointed, he understood exactly what was going on. He'd wanted to take baby steps, and she was in danger of taking giant leaps. At the same time, he was grateful that she was willing to slow down, as frustrated as she had to be from this.
While she was gone, it gave him time to sit and be alone with his thoughts. And it was also then that he realized it was his own heart he was hearing, so he took a few deep breaths, settling himself down. Was he really ready for this? At this point, he didn't have the slightest idea, but at least this bought him some more time. He wasn't completely sure about this yet, but he was really starting to enjoy the kissing aspect of it.
He slumped on the couch a little, propping his feet on the coffee table and watching the movie. Oh right. There was a movie on. He chuckled softly to himself, realizing he was basically living what he'd missed as a teenager.
It took about a minute of slow, deep breathing before Lee straightened up. Her heart was still beating a little fast, but it was better than she had been.
Finally, Lee turned to make the coffee she said she needed. Even if a cold shower probably would have helped more. This was going to be much more difficult than she had initially thought, but not for the same reasons. Both of them had been getting quite… Involved in each other. Almost too involved in each other.
A few minutes late, cup of coffee in hand, Lee walked back into the living room and sat beside Blaine, though there was an inch of space between them this time.
He sank into the couch a little more as he waited, still trying to juggle these feelings; he hadn't felt like this since he was in his twenties, and even then...this was different. But at the same time, he was still nervous and slightly afraid; after all, he knew this wouldn't be an overnight thing. It was going to take time. More time than had been put into it already, but at least he was making progress, right?
After a few moments, Blaine realized she'd been gone awhile, but by the time he thought about getting up to check on her, she was back--and farther away from him than previous. Well, it was an inch, but after earlier, it felt more like a mile. And yet he didn't close the distance. Not yet, anyway.
"Everything okay?" he asked after a moment, looking over at her.
Was everything okay? Everything was perfectly great, and at the same time, no everything was not okay.
Taking a sip of coffee first, Lee looked over at Blaine. ”Yeah, I'm fine,” Lee said with a small smile. ”It's just…” Lee trailed off, not sure how she would even finish that sentence. That she hadn't wanted to stop? That she wasn't sure she would have been able to stop if she had stayed there on his lap like that any longer than she had?
That despite his claims of being clueless, Blaine was doing a damn good job with everything?
Lee leaned over and gave Blaine a single, quick kiss. ”Everything's good.”
He could tell there was something else bothering her. She rarely ever trailed her sentences like that without finishing them. He took a breath, looking over at her and again forgetting all about the movie. He chewed on his thoughts for a moment, trying to figure out what to say or do to make this better. He figured he had an idea of what was on her mind, but..he didn't know how to address it.
So, he didn't. He simply nodded before sliding closer to her, slipping his arm around her shoulder again, attempting to put his focus back on the movie, not that he'd paid it much attention in the first place.
