The X-men run missions and work together with the NYPD, striving to maintain a peaceful balance between humans and mutants. When it comes to a fight, they won't back down from protecting those who need their help.
Haven presents itself as a humanitarian organization for activists, leaders, and high society, yet mutants are the secret leaders working to protect and serve their kind. Behind the scenes they bring their goals into reality.
From the time when mutants became known to the world, SUPER was founded as a black-ops division of the CIA in an attempt to classify, observe, and learn more about this new and rising threat.
The Syndicate works to help bring mutantkind to the forefront of the world. They work from the shadows, a beacon of hope for mutants, but a bane to mankind. With their guiding hand, humanity will finally find extinction.
Since the existence of mutants was first revealed in the nineties, the world has become a changed place. Whether they're genetic misfits or the next stage in humanity's evolution, there's no denying their growing numbers, especially in hubs like New York City. The NYPD has a division devoted to mutant related crimes. Super-powered vigilantes help to maintain the peace. Those who style themselves as Homo Superior work to tear society apart for rebuilding in their own image.

Finally, he opened his soda and took a sip with his right hand. "I never said I didn't like them," he corrected, "I just wouldn't go as far as calling it 'horror.'" He shot her a smirk at this comment. "And if it'll get me more time with you, I'd grow to like 'em even more."
He shook his head slightly, thinking about what just this short time with her had done to him. Around her, he was a teddy bear. Although the bandages on his hands showed that there was still a grizzly in there somewhere. He snuggled her carefully and gently as the movie began, leaning his head lightly against hers.
Good, at least he didn't not like vampire movies. Not as good as enjoying them, but better than hating them. ”Fair enough,” Lee replied. ”Just keep in mind, I'm not the one who brought vampires out when asked for horror.”
But as Blaine continued speaking, Lee's smile grew. ”I'm sure we can work out spending more time together like this,” Lee told him before settling in to watch the movie.
And it was true, she didn't really condo vampires to be horror. But that didn't stop certain things from startling her, and a little bit into the movie, Lee noticeably jumped, letting out a small noise as she did.
He gave a slight shrug. "I don't have many horror movies to begin with; I had to pad the pile a little bit," he answered, noting that at least three of the movies he brought out were in fact, vampire movies.
"I'd say we've been doing a good job of that so far," he murmured softly, starting to enjoy this. And then, she jumped, letting out a noise he'd never heard her make before. With a chuckle, he carefully pulled her closer, sort of playing the part of protective boyfriend. To be honest, he thought it was kind of cute.
Lee grinned and nuzzled her head more into Blaine's shoulder when she felt him tighten his arm around her. She wasn't scared, but it was a good excuse.
”And this is why we should have more horror movies available,” Lee leaned up to whisper in Blaine's ear. ”I'll jump or get scared, and you can protect me like this.”
He chuckled a little, still holding her close as he shook his head, focusing on how her whisper sounded in his ear. How close she was. His hand very gently ran across her hair as he just held her for a moment.
"As if we actually need an excuse," he whispered back. "It's not really protecting if what I'm protecting you from isn't even real. But..." he looked down and smiled at her. "I'll take it." He closed his eyes for a moment, taking in how she smelled. When it got quiet, he could faintly hear her breathing.
While he had his eyes closed, however, the room was pierced by the movie's blood-curdling scream, and it was his turn to jump a little, eyes darting open and his face flushed once he realized what had happened.
Lee felt Blaine's hand lightly brushing over her hair and smiled. ”Sometimes it's fun to have an excuse,” Lee said, still whispering as Blaine turned to look at her. But whether they were using the excuse of a ‘scary’ movie or not, this was nice.
And then Blaine jumped when there was a scream in the movie. Lee couldn't stop a small laugh from escaping before she bit her lips to stop it. ”I thought vampires weren't scary,” Lee said, trying to hide her smile.
He didn't notice his face turning pink from the embarrassment, but he figured he was due to how his stomach was fluttering and his pride was shot. "I had my eyes closed," he murmured. "I was following your advice, and didn't expect the scream," he said with a small shrug.
"It got quiet, so I was listening to you breathe for a second, enjoying the closeness however I can." He smiled, then added, "But if it'll get us back to snuggling, yes. Yes they are." He wasn't sure what the appeal was with this teasing thing, but he was growing to like it.
”Uh huh,” Lee said. But she didn't say anything about the fact that Blaine was blushing, she never liked her own blushes being pointed out. However, she couldn't stop the lopsided smile from appearing on her face.
But when Blaine explained what he had been doing when his eyes were closed, Lee's smile became simply happy and a light blush covered her cheeks. And now he would pretend that the vampires were scary if it would allow them to continue snuggling?
That sounded good to Lee, though she decides to move to become more comfortable. Sitting up slightly, Lee slides her feet of the couch so she can turn to face Blaine a bit more. And laid her legs across Blaine's lap as she rested her head back on his shoulder. ”How's this?” Lee asked, not even pretending to pay attention to the movie at the moment.
He figured she was smiling because he was blushing; and if it were anyone else, it wouldn't have had the same reaction. But since it was Lee, he didn't mind so much. Besides, he made her blush quite a bit, so maybe she thought the same of his that he did of hers, and he was okay with that.
Then she changed position, and he could tell she wasn't really paying attention to the movie anymore, though he didn't mind. "Perfect," he murmured, letting his hand rest on her back. In all honesty, he'd quit paying attention to the movie as well, but most of his focus had been on her the majority of the time, anyway.
In fact, not only that, but the incident from earlier was nearly completely out of mind as well, even if that may have been what sort of inspired him to experiment a little more tonight.
Blaine thought that this position was perfect, and Lee sort of had to agree as she felt his hand coming to rest on her back. Lifting her head up again, Lee turned to look at Blaine. Yeah, this was just about perfect, she thought as she saw your close his face was now.
Though, because of how much taller he was than her, he wasn't quite close enough. So Lee lifted her arms with a smile to wrap around Blaine's neck, tightening them slightly to pull herself closer for another kiss.
He smiled again as their eyes met, he wasn't' sure what it was, but there was just something about them that just drew him in. When her arms wrapped around his neck, he very carefully wrapped his other arm around her.
When she kissed him, he returned it, still learning, but getting better as he went. Maybe one day he'd be able to close his eyes...
Even still, he was enjoying this, even if he had lost interest in the movie quite some time ago.
Blaine's other arm wrapped around her, causing Lee to smile just before the kiss. And, while his eyes stayed open, Lee's eyes did not. They closed as her arms tightened around Blaine's neck, pulling them closer together.
As the kiss continued, Lee could feel her heart beating harder, her breathing coming faster, and without realizing it, her one hand moved from where it was around Blaine's neck to have her fingers slowly entwine in his hair.
He could hear as her breathing changed, though he wasn't close enough to hear her heartbeat. He tried to readjust his head, but felt resistance. Blaine smiled, realizing her hand was tangled in his hair.
All of these things told him he was doing something right. But...part of him was still unsure about what would happen next. It wasn't that he didn't want to, but he wasn't sure if he was ready. He paused a moment before kissing her again. That was the point of an experiment, right?
Lee felt Blaine trying to move his head, and that's when she consciously realized that her hand was on his hair, when she felt that hair tightening against her fingers. But because of that hand, Blaine wasn't able to move his head much, and soon stopped. Then Lee felt him smile against her lips.
She didn't even really think about it, she just moved, part squirming part pulling herself to fully sit on Blaine's lap add opposed to beside (though extremely close) him. And that movement allowed Lee to pull her body that much closer to Blaine's as she kissed him again.
He gasped a little through his nose as she climbed onto his lap, and his own breath quickened a little as she kissed him again. Even though he had no idea what it felt like...he liked it. He returned the kiss, his own eyes starting to close as he took in the smell of her hair coupled with the sound of her heartbeat. Or was that his?
Hell, he didn't even know anymore, but closing his eyes heightened his senses of hearing and smell a little more. He was taking in the moment, thinking about how just a month ago, he didn't think any of this would ever happen to him.
However, what he didn't realize was that in all the excitement, his hands had somehow found their way under her shirt, and were now resting against her bare back.
