The X-men run missions and work together with the NYPD, striving to maintain a peaceful balance between humans and mutants. When it comes to a fight, they won't back down from protecting those who need their help.
Haven presents itself as a humanitarian organization for activists, leaders, and high society, yet mutants are the secret leaders working to protect and serve their kind. Behind the scenes they bring their goals into reality.
From the time when mutants became known to the world, SUPER was founded as a black-ops division of the CIA in an attempt to classify, observe, and learn more about this new and rising threat.
The Syndicate works to help bring mutantkind to the forefront of the world. They work from the shadows, a beacon of hope for mutants, but a bane to mankind. With their guiding hand, humanity will finally find extinction.
Since the existence of mutants was first revealed in the nineties, the world has become a changed place. Whether they're genetic misfits or the next stage in humanity's evolution, there's no denying their growing numbers, especially in hubs like New York City. The NYPD has a division devoted to mutant related crimes. Super-powered vigilantes help to maintain the peace. Those who style themselves as Homo Superior work to tear society apart for rebuilding in their own image.

He hated to see her leave, but he knew it had to be done so they could leave together. The night may have been peaceful, but that also meant that time dragged slowly. He still managed to do his job, but it was harder, seeing all he could think about now was her. Finally, it was time to go, and he made his way over to the door where Lee was waiting.
He made it halfway, then looked at her before turning around and going back to the back. When he returned, he had put his leather jacket on. Then, he walked to Lee, holding his hand out. "Ready?"
With that, he took her hand and led her outside, walking down the sidewalk. He was keeping a steady pace, but nowhere near as brisk as usual. After all, it was finally just the two of them.
Even though she had waited until the doors were almost locked, it still seemed to take forever while she sat there waiting for Blaine.
”I thought you were leaving?”
Lee looked up to see Matt, and raised her eyebrows. ”I am. I thought you had work to do?”
Thankfully, Matt headed off a moment later, just before Lee saw Blaine heading toward her. Smiling, Lee stood and slipped her jacket on. Only to see him turn around, and with a quick look, Lee realized why; he had forgotten his jacket again.
Rather than sit this time while she waited, Lee leaned against the table. Then straightened up with a smile as she saw Blaine return. And smile wider when he held his hand out to her. ”Beyond ready,” Lee replied as she took Blaine’s hand and let him lead her out.
Other than the normal noise of the city, it was quiet, but comfortable, as they walked. Leaning her head against Blaine’s arm for a few steps, Lee took a deep breath. ”This is so much nicer,” Lee said after a few minutes.
He smiled as they walked, and he'd occasionally look over at her, holding his hand and leaning into his arm. It was nice, just having her here with him. "Yeah...it really is," he murmured. On top of that, it was a rather beautiful night to be out; or maybe it was just her. He wasn't sure.
Around forty five minutes later, they were walking up to his apartment. Unlocking the door, he led her inside and shut the door behind them. "You know, I like it a lot better when I don't have to wait on you," he murmured with a smile, leaning down to give her a somewhat awkward kiss on the cheek.
"Well, I'm sure you know by this point you're welcome to whatever you like." He gave another smile, hanging up his jacket and sitting on the couch.
Even though it had to have taken longer than it normally took her to walk to Blaine’s apartment since they were walking slower than she normally did. But it didn’t feel like it took as long. It had to be because of the company she had while they were walking, even if it was quiet.
But finally they got to Blaine’s apartment, up the stairs, and he was unlocking the door. To be honest, it kind of felt weird to not go through the door first, she had gotten quite used to having doors always held open for her, but it really wasn’t so bad walking through the door while holding Blaine’s hand.
”You know, I like it too,” Lee replied before she blushed slightly as she felt Blaine kiss her cheek. ”I’m going to have to see about leaving earlier like this more often now that Matt’s back.”
Unfortunately, Blaine moved away from her at this point, but considering it was to take his jjacket off it was sort of necessary. So Lee followed suit, setting her bag down and slipping her own jacket off. Moving a little slower than he had, Lee followed Blaine to the couch, sitting down beside him. ”So,” Lee murmured, looking up at Blaine. ”How about that distraction?”
He relaxed into the sofa, putting his hands behind his head. "I really wouldn't mind that; it's nice having the company," he murmured. Then, she sat next to him and he put his arm around her. He was still figuring out minor details like pressure and hand placement, but they were working on it.
And then, she mentioned something about a distraction, and he had to pause for a moment; honestly, he hadn't the slightest idea. But he'd basically been flying by the seat of his pants the whole time, so that was pretty much the norm by now. Instead of thinking of some witty answer--honestly, every joke he'd ever cracked was just him getting lucky--he slowly leaned in, carefully, calculating as he pressed his lips to hers.
Pulling back, really having no idea how he did, he was unknowingly blushing slightly. "Honestly, that's all I got..." he admitted sheepishly.
When she felt his arm around her shoulders, Lee leaned slightly against Blaine. He really was getting better at things like this such as just letting his arm drape across her shoulders instead of pushing down. This was nice, this was comfortable, felt good, especially after how part of their night had gone.
Yet, when Lee asked about a distraction, one which Blaine had stated at the bar that he’d be able to provide, he just looked confused for a moment. But then he was leaning forward, closer to her, and despite the fact that Lee had kissed him many times at this point, her breath caught in her throat.
And then he was kissing her. It was far from the best kiss she had ever had, and the pressure of his lips against hers was a little strong, but Lee’s hand reached up to Blaine’s shoulder as she returned the kiss, and her stomach did a little flip flop because it was him who had kissed her.
When he pulled back, Lee could see a slight blush on Blaine’s fack, and she could feel her breathing coming a little quicker than normal. That was all he had? It was a hell of a lot more than he had had a week earlier. ”Well, it was good,” Lee whispered.
He leaned back a little, nodding. "I try," he murmured, and it was quite honestly all he could do. He looked her in the eyes as he nodded, his face still flushing a little. Part of him still couldn't believe all this had happened, that she was his girlfriend, and yet...here they were.
"You know...when I first walked into that bar looking for a job, I never thought you'd end up in my apartment," he said with a chuckle, shaking his head. "Though...I wouldn't change it for anything." He gave another chuckle.
"Though...sometimes I wonder what I'm missing out on, you know?" he pondered for a moment. "I mean, I'm glad you agreed to take it one step at a time, but....here lately I just wonder." He grew silent as he sat back on the couch, thinking.
As Blaine pulled away, Lee let her hand fall off his shoulder, running down to rest on his forearm. Slowly, Lee’s breathing returned to normal as she looked at Blaine. But apparently her heart was beating a bit faster than normal, and that wasn’t slowing down.
And then Blaine started talking again, and Lee laughed along with him. ”Even when I did end up here with your jacket, I never expected this,” Lee replied. ”It’s kind of crazy how life works out, isn’t it?”
Blaine’s next words were much more somber, pondering what he was missing out on because he couldn’t actually feel. Lee frowned slightly as she looked over at him. ”I’ve wondered that too, before,” Lee said softly. ”I’m always here if you ever want to really talk about it.”
"Heh, yeah...life can be funny that way. Not that I'm complaining," he said softly.
He sighed, leaning back as far as he could at this point. "Not sure how that would work, considering," he said as he started thinking. "I mean...we know the underlying issue. I can't feel," he replied, glancing over at her.
"I know we're making progress, but..." he sighed deeply, "No matter how far we get, no matter how good I become at this whole relationship thing..." he paused, closing his eyes. "I'll never know what you feel like. I never used to think about these things, but then you came along." He smiled softly after a moment, sort of imagining it. Well, trying to.
At this point, Blaine leaned even further back, though at least he was still looking at her. Still, what he was saying made it hard for Lee to figure out what to say or do because he was right. Yes, at one point she hadn’t thought that she could really have even what the two of them had right now, never mind everything else she had managed to experience. But even when she hadn’t thought she could have this, she had at least been able to feel it when she touched someone.
Frowning slightly as Blaine continued, Lee was at a loss as to what to say or do. Then she started to chew on her lower lip. She wanted to reach out to touch him, but with his eyes closed, he wouldn’t even know. And when he found out that she was touching him, would that just make him feel worse?
”I know it’s not the same,” Lee finally whispered. ”But you have other senses...What I smell like, what it looks like when your touch gives me goosebumps…”
He opened his eyes as she spoke, blinking a little. She was right; even if it wasn't the same, it was something. He looked over at her again; he already relied on sight for most things, and he already dominantly relied on it for interacting with her. So incorporating his other senses wouldn't be so hard.
"I know it's not the same," he murmured. "But then again...is anything I do the same as anyone else?" He chuckled a little, sliding a little closer to her as he spoke again. He let his hand idly trace her arm as he spoke, watching carefully as he made sure his fingertips were only lightly brushing her skin.
Was anything Blaine did the same as how anyone else did it? Lee shook her head as he slid closer to her on the couch again. And reached his hand out to lightly trail his fingers on her arm.
Lee’s breath caught in her throat again as her heart started to pound in her chest. It was such a small action, a barely there touch, sending goosebumps up the entire length of her arm and across her shoulders.
Then Lee let out a shaky breath. ”See?” Lee asked, but even in a whisper, Lee wasn’t sure that her voice was steady.
He nodded, looking at what just a simple movement had done to her. He also noticed her voice shaking, even at a whisper. He found it interesting, though some of these things just made him more curious. At the same time, he was still finding ways to enjoy this closeness, even if he couldn't feel it. Her expressions, the sound of her breath, her body language...his working senses were processing all of it.
After a pause, he continued letting his fingers trail her arm. "What's it feel like? You know, being with me?" he asked. "I know it's a weird question, but...I'm curious."
At least Lee was starting to get used to how Blaine's fingers ghosting along her arm felt, though by no means did that mean the goosebumps went away. But it at least allowed her to think about his question.
But what did it feel like to be with Blaine? Lee bit her bottom lip as she thought, though that was a bit harder to do with the distraction Blaine was creating quite well. ”In a way, it's like with anyone else I guess. But since you can't feel,,I don't know, it is like it's even more special when you touch me.”
He nodded, figuring that was a good answer. "For me, it's obviously more of an emotional thing," he explained, his fingers trailing up her arm and coming to a rest on her shoulder. "I usually keep my emotions to myself, because that's where I'm vulnerable. Being with you is different than anyone else, because you have the best idea of where my emotions stand. And even though I feel that's where I'm most vulnerable....I feel safe sharing these things with you."
Maybe it wasn't quite the same as cuddling, but it was Blaine's equivalent. Slowly, he leaned in, more carefully giving her another kiss, trying to duplicate the same tenderness he'd mastered with his hand.
