Character

Personality: Nick tries to be nice to everyone, but sometimes he can’t see the difference between joke and cruelty. He’s shy, but he tries to fit in as well as he can. If he does get a friend, odds are that the friendship will last for a long time. Over the years he spent at the mutant camp, Nick also discovered he is gay, but he has yet to find anyone who would date a gay mutant. He gets easily motivated when nature is includes as his mutation has brought him closer to it. He doesn’t necessarily enjoy working, but doing what has to be done is a priority.

Morality

Good/ bad/ neutral/ other: Good. Nick enjoys helping others, and he tries to do it as careful and as law-abiding as possible. However, when someone threatens someone he holds dear, he won't let the law stand in his way.

Mutations

Mutation description: Plant manipulation: The ability of plant creation and manipulation, Nick’s plant manipulation is specialized around thorny plants. The thorny plants he has grown the most are blue roses. These do not exist in nature, but he can somehow create them.

Strengths: Rose manipulation: Nick has two blue roses tangled around arms. He can use these for offensive or defensive based situations, such as using them to punch someone or to block an attack These roses grow out from his shoulderblades and act as extra limbs. Their stems are thicker than that of normal roses. If they are cut off, it hurts like losing a finger and to regrow them Nick needs to sunbathe and drink a lot of water. Nick can also grow blue roses from the ground that he can control.

Brambles: Nick can grow brambles at a moment’s notice. He can use the brambles for anything from trapping someone to making a staircase to get up to a kitten stuck in a tree. The only downside of this is that he can’t remove the brambles again, however he can reshape them. The brambles are bendy until he stops growing them the second he does they instantly go sturdy.

Speed growth: By focusing energy into seeds or already existing plants, Nick can make them grow fast, and to bigger than usual sizes. He focuses the energy from his fingertips.

Plant manipulation: Nick can manipulate plants, such as making branches grab someone or making grass trip someone’s feet…

Immunity to Solanaceae toxins: His powers have given him immunity to the effects of solanaceae toxins. Not that he knows.

Weaknesses and Limitations: Fire, lightning, teddy bears (no questions asked), winter, cold, plants are scarce in a big city, he requires extra nutrients for his roses. Nick cant sleep on his back because of his roses.
If Nick tries to create something with the mass of a tree or something of similar size, he starts getting dehydrated, which over longer time can cause him to get light headed, hallucinate and eventually pass out. This also happens if he uses his mutation too intensely over time.
Nick can only speed grow plants within a 10 meter range and only up to 5x the size.

Physical Abilities

General Physical Capabilities: Nick isn’t very strong but he has flexibility on his side.
Fighting Style: Nick prefers fighting out of melee range. Using his plants instead. He has however found a way to use his twin roses as weapons.

History Of Your Character
Nick’s story begins in Bigfork, MT. His childhood was wonderful and filled with great memories. He’d play a lot in the forest and help his great grandma with her gardening and swim in Echo Lake. He was brought up with his mother teaching him Portugese and his father teaching him Norwegian. They both thought that knowing other languages was important.

The day after he turned fifteen he and his parents were gonna go to Glacier park to go hiking on a bear trail. While driving to the bear trail, an earthquake suddenly hit. They were still driving at an incline when the earthquake hit. “Get down Nick” was the last word he heard his father say before a boulder crushed the front of the car and both his parents. It seemed that the earthquake had set off a landslide.

At that exact moment, Nick’s mutation instantly came to life. First his back started to hurt, so he ripped off his shirt. Two blue roses sprouted from his back. Nick opened the door next to him and hurried out. As he looked up the hill next to the car, he saw a boulder headed straight for him. In terror he tried guarding his face with his arms. But the boulder never hit. Instead, a wall of brambles had entangled the boulder inches from his face.

The forest rangers came within half an hour had passed. They found Nick crying next to his parent’s car. However, when the rangers saw the roses on his back, they got scared. For all they knew he could have been the one that destroyed the car. Instead of asking any questions, the rangers fired a tranquilizer dart at him.

The next thing he knew, he woke up in the back of an animal transporting vagon. He was being transported to the nearest mutant camp to be registered. He was kept here until he turned 19, at which point he had learned control over his power. Since he had nowhere else to go, he thought he’d head for New York. Both to get away, and to hopefully find somewhere he belonged.

Sample RP:
After having been in the camp for a year, Nick felt like he was done. People were always picking on him and beating him up. As long as the guards didn’t care, there was nothing he could do. Today however, everything would change.”The day is finally here to get my revenge” he said to himself as he got up. He had already prepared his revenge against Cam, the camp’s self declared “Emperor”. Nick was gonna show Cam that he couldn’t pick on others anymore. As he walked outside of his tent, he could see the blue sky showing promise of a nice day. Finally ready to get his revenge, he started walking towards the campfire, which was where Cam usually was. As he got closer he started smelling cooked meat. He could also feel Cam’s mutation starting to affect him. The area of disgust that he emitted was strong and nearly unbearable.

Nick knew that if he got too close he would wind up vomiting. In other words he had to get Cam from afar. Something that was hard considering the tents that were everywhere. The feeling of disgust increased as he got closer to the campfire. Nick decided to hide behind a nearby tent whilst he looked at what he was up against. He looked over at the campfire, but to his surprise none of Cam’s goons were there. Nick also noticed that the honey locust tree by the campfire had grown quite a lot. The autumn season was truly the best time to look at a honey locust. The leaves had started turning yellow and the thorns had hardened, perfect for his plan.

“Hey cam, where are your minions?” Nick said as he stepped out from behind the tent. By the look on Cam’s face, it was clear that he didn’t expect to be disturbed. As the big man turned around, Nick could see that he was interrupting Cam’s lunch. “What do you want, rosey boy?” Cam asked and took a step towards Nick. The feeling of disgust increased when Cam stepped closer to Nick. “I’m here to prove that you can't terrorize anyone you want Cam” Nick answered and started focusing his power on the honey locust tree. “Well who’s gonna stop m” was all Cam was able to say before Nick’s grasp on the honey locust kicked in. “Look behind you” Nick said as he made one of the branches on the honey locust grab Cam and hold him upside down. Nick’s head started to hurt, so he released the grasp on the branch, causing it to harden in it’s current position.

“Let me down you idiot” Cam said while trying to reach the branch he was hanging from. “Not until you promise to stop terrorizing innocent people” Nick answered him. “Now why would i want to do that?” Cam asked while still reaching for the branch. The headache that Nick had gotten so suddenly mixed with Cam’s disgust aura caused Nick to vomit. When he was done he leaned himself towards a nearby tent and answered. “This is why i want you to stop, you cause people pain both with and without intention. Therefore, I think you should move to the edge of camp so nobody gets sick from your aura anymore”. Cam started smiling. “Well there’s no need for that is there?” he said as a blunt pain hit Nick’s head from behind and he fell to the ground
