The X-men run missions and work together with the NYPD, striving to maintain a peaceful balance between humans and mutants. When it comes to a fight, they won't back down from protecting those who need their help.
Haven presents itself as a humanitarian organization for activists, leaders, and high society, yet mutants are the secret leaders working to protect and serve their kind. Behind the scenes they bring their goals into reality.
From the time when mutants became known to the world, SUPER was founded as a black-ops division of the CIA in an attempt to classify, observe, and learn more about this new and rising threat.
The Syndicate works to help bring mutantkind to the forefront of the world. They work from the shadows, a beacon of hope for mutants, but a bane to mankind. With their guiding hand, humanity will finally find extinction.
Since the existence of mutants was first revealed in the nineties, the world has become a changed place. Whether they're genetic misfits or the next stage in humanity's evolution, there's no denying their growing numbers, especially in hubs like New York City. The NYPD has a division devoted to mutant related crimes. Super-powered vigilantes help to maintain the peace. Those who style themselves as Homo Superior work to tear society apart for rebuilding in their own image.

Raina giggled and took the glass from him drinking it all in one exasperated gulp. "Ahh.." she sighed happily refreshed. "I can call the water out of the air with a variation of that first chant I showed you. I can manipulate it a bit... I suppose that would be my primary mutation and the freezing is secondary." she shrugged. "so far I can caused the ice to shatter and crack, but I haven't been able to melt it yet." She looked down into her now empty glass.
"When the elders back home first realised my power, they thought I was one of the chanters of legend so they gave me a key-tool they were hoping would help me chanel the energy and control it... it's more or less a colaspable triton. it doesn't really do anything- maybe if there was such a thing as magic it would..." she leaned back in her chair with a yawn "I mainly carry it around as protection... I've come into contact with all sorts of strange people since I left my home. I don't think there's much more beyond that to tell! I left home in search of others, education about my abilities, and well.. everyone's gotta leave home sometime! I've mainly been travelling around since then. I was probably your age when i left... Maybe a little younger..." she said trying to guess his age.
"What about you? I'd like to know something about you too!"
she was really starting to enjoy this place and feel comfortable- warming up to it!
”Where to start…” Raphael pondered, wondering if for some reason he looked overtly young or something. “Tell me, how old were you when you left?”
As she answered, he constructed the story to tell her. He had become a bit more open since he first arrived, but… “I was a lot younger when I left home, five or six years, actually. I hurt someone dear to me, and my parents ‘banished’ me from home, not for injuring him, but for my mutation. When it was discovered that I couldn’t be ‘fixed’, I was shipped out of Virginia to a boarding school here in New York.”
He paused for a moment putting the grape he had intended to munch on down back on the counter. “I don’t have a happy story to tell you, least not before getting here, and even then. It seems that bad fortune follows me…”
He glanced up at her, as he had affixed his gaze downward, he had not felt remorse for any of the people he had hurt, and the couple he had killed, in the ring… he had only felt remorse for his brother when he had first ‘discovered’ his elbow blades. “Should I continue my story of woe and misfortune?”
The tone of her voice did not match the look on her face. He had happy memories here. Meeting Fade was one of them, though she was increasingly busy with other projects.
“Not really,” he stated. “It is not exactly the best of ways to start a new friendship, is it?”
Of course, his friendship with Victoria had begun exactly like this… His relationship with Fade had begun with the discussion of less than pleasant topics, more so on her end than on his, being able to listen as much as talk was just as important. “Besides, wouldn’t want to scare you away from here.”

Raina couldn't help it, she snorted and then giggled. "Oh I'm terrified, not much is going to change that. Well then, I think we should do something fun!" She exclaimed standing up and taking his arm. "come on, I think we should get some fresh Air. Maybe you can show me around the campus outside! We're bound to find some others looking for some fun!" she didn't wait for a responce and headed toward the door grabbing the remainder of the grapes and tossed one in the air to catch in her mouth.
She was excited, and Raina's excitement was infectious to anyone.
Raphael found his arm grabbed and dragged towards the door. He could have stopped her, he was pretty sure he was much stronger than she, but went along with it. Provided they avoided the gardens, a place he had yet to go since his first few days here, he was willing to go along with her. “Sure, we could do that.”
