The X-men run missions and work together with the NYPD, striving to maintain a peaceful balance between humans and mutants. When it comes to a fight, they won't back down from protecting those who need their help.
Haven presents itself as a humanitarian organization for activists, leaders, and high society, yet mutants are the secret leaders working to protect and serve their kind. Behind the scenes they bring their goals into reality.
From the time when mutants became known to the world, SUPER was founded as a black-ops division of the CIA in an attempt to classify, observe, and learn more about this new and rising threat.
The Syndicate works to help bring mutantkind to the forefront of the world. They work from the shadows, a beacon of hope for mutants, but a bane to mankind. With their guiding hand, humanity will finally find extinction.
Since the existence of mutants was first revealed in the nineties, the world has become a changed place. Whether they're genetic misfits or the next stage in humanity's evolution, there's no denying their growing numbers, especially in hubs like New York City. The NYPD has a division devoted to mutant related crimes. Super-powered vigilantes help to maintain the peace. Those who style themselves as Homo Superior work to tear society apart for rebuilding in their own image.

A large smile crept across her face when he pecked her again. Her mind just seemed to turn off every time they kissed. It was an odd feeling, but a good feeling. When he asked her about his hair, she looked at it and tried to imagine him with short hair. She went through many short hair styles on him and decided that they all looked good except emo and scene hair cuts. "I think that would look pretty cool. You know? Like not too short so it's like you're in the military, but too long so if you style it, it wouldn't look like an afro. What style were you thinking about?"
A small smile blossomed on his face as he watched the smile grow on the lips he had just kissed. He enjoyed the feeling of seeing her just smile almost as much as he enjoyed kissing her, especially since he was the one that put it there. He almost missed her opinion as he was wrapped up in his delight of watching her. Young love, is it not grand?
He had not thought that far ahead and just shrugged, as he did not have an immediate answer for her. “I don’t know, though I can agree with you, no military buzz-cut for me. And I don’t really need to worry about an afro… my hair is too thin and straight for that. I’m not sure how to cut it… maybe just…” he gave a shrug and did not even bother to finish the sentence.
After a moment of silence he asked, “Do you know how to cut hair? I’m pretty easy going as far as it goes in hairstyles…. Heck, part of the reason I keep it long now is to avoid having to decide how to cut it,” he smiled at her. “If you know how to cut it… would you? I mean… then you could style it up however you think makes me most attractive.” Since what you consider to be attractive is all that matters, the thought ran through his head.
A small chuckle escaped her lips, or is it a giggle? "Well, I've never cut hair before, ok, I take that back, I cut mine once because it was too long and getting annoying, but I cut it all lopsided and weird, thank God it grew back nicely. Then again, that was about seven years ago. I could give it a go, but it's entirely up to you if you want to be my guinea pig." She gave him her usual raised eyebrow and half smile, showing her 'if-it's-ok-with-you' face.
"Well, I mean, I guess I could like, I dunno, cut a dummy's hair just for practice." Right after she had stated that, a thought crossed her mind and she immediately felt stupid for saying it. Her mind raced, looking for a way to save her from the stupidity of her last statement, but she couldn't find a good one. So she reluctantly settled for a imple, laugh-it-off add-on; "Now where I'm gonna get a dummy, I have no clue."
He smiled at the chuckle/giggle that escaped, then nodded. “I’d be willing. What’s the worse that happens? We go shorter. It’d not gonna hurt… it’ll grow back….” The blinked a moment and missed her ‘dummy’ comment completely as he wondered if his hair would grow exponentially faster just as the rest of his body healed so much faster than everyone else’s, he simply had not paid attention, and had worn his hair long for such a time he could not remember. He gave a mental shrug, figuring they would find out soon enough.
He blinked a moment at her second mention of ‘dummy’ and shook his head, smiling. “Nah, it’s okay, expensive an’ unnecessary. I’m here to experiment on. So long as it don’t drive you away from me.” He said with a smile. “Just have to figure out where to get some shears.”
"Yeah." She released a sigh as he didn't seem to think that her 'dummy' comment was as dumb as she feared he would. "Well, scissors will work just fine." By this, Fade was subconsiously making it clear that due to her past, she had no idea what shears were and thought that they were some kind of sheet. Man, I really should have gone to school, I didn't know what a massage was and now I don't know what shears are. Oh well, no way to go back and change that now. Might as well just start piecing together what they are on my own.
"It wouldn't take too long, I'd just need scissors, water, a towel, and a comb." After she had mentioned the materials she'd need for a hair cut, she searched the corners of her uneducated mind to find memories of what hair stylists at the mall she once live in would use on their customers. "I'd also need gel, and an electric hair-drying thing." She attempted to show what she meant with her hands but it made her ridiculous so she immediately stopped.
Raphael blinked a couple times at the blank look that flashed over her face at his mention of shears. “Think bigger scissors…” he said. He drew a breath, and gave a small shake of his head. He had thought that everyone knew what shears were. He smiled at her as she gestured and tried to express with words and hands that she would need a blow-dryer.
“Well… I can certainly agree with scissors, towel, water, and a comb… but gel and a blow-dryer?” He cocked his head to the side. He had not been paying much attention when he had gotten his hair cut. But then again, it was not like there was much effort put into cutting his hair. He however willing to let her learn on him, and he was willing to learn in the process with her. As such was life. Life was about learning, and he had spent far too long learning about how to hurt people. Maim even, break limbs and pound his way through people just to survive. With Fade he had the opportunity to explore more of life’s little enjoyments. Even if it began with a haircut.
"I'm just experimenting, like you said." She smirked in response to his concern of gel and ablow-dryer. "Well, I saw some people do it in a hair place. It looked pretty good. I dunno, it's up to you how much I can experiment with your hair." Then again, she had never been one to pay attention and wouldn't watch the stylists, she typically just scuttered into Pac Sun, Zumies, or Hot Topic and nicked some of their stuff, cutting and styling hair had not really caught her attention, back then. Now, since Raph was willing to let her cut his hair and experiment with it, she was fascinated with the 'cutting-the-hair' idea and just couldn't help but continuing on her search for a perfect hair cut for him.
Every thought she conjured ended with him, she was still so glad that they were together. Ah yes, as she watched him, she took in everything like an eager student in a new school. His eyes, his smile, his skin, and yes, his hair, even though she knew it was going to change soon and she could change it to anything she wanted. It was as if just that one conversation had changed her entire look on life, which wasn't a lie, for her ideas of life were no longer filled with terrible memories of her past, they were predictions of the future and Fade enjoyed not thinking about the mistakes in her past, finally, she was able to look forward, straight at Raph, and forget about everything else.
”When?” He asked a simple direct question. He smiled and waited for her to respond as he thought about how his hair might turn out. He had buzzed it all off once a year when he was several years younger, but had since grown past that stage of his life. And besides, he did not like the buzz-cut hairstyle anymore anyways. It was part of the reason he had resisted Benny’s suggestion to get his hair cut when he had first begun his cage-fighting career.
Raphael turned his head to the side as he looked at her. She’d look pretty hot… hotter than she does now with short hair. He smiled and gave a verbal voice to the little voice in his head. “Ever thought about cutting your hair short Jenny?” He gave a cock-eyed grin at her, still imagining her with short hair. He had a certain attraction to Fade, and it would be doubled with his attraction to girls with short hair.
Deathstar walks in the kitchen, seeing two people she never saw before "Is this the kitchen or beauty Parlor" she said sarcastically as she rolled eyes at the thought of love.."If you don't mind, I would like to get myself a bite to eat without hair in it, there's other places for you to do hair" *looking at fade with a disgust on her face, she is obviously ruining the vibe between the two* she walks inbetween the two to get at the refrigerator " what they got no cake here, what kind of place is place is this" she said to herself while looking in the refrigerator, obviously she loves junk food
Fade smirked, the thought had crossed her mind once or twice, but she had never followed through. "I was thinking that, but I don't know how short, you got an idea of how short I should cut it?" In her mind, she was thinking, a kind of boy-ish hair cut with long bangs, like emo-ishy bangs. Then again, she wasn't good with her hair, never had been.
At first, she ignored the intrusion, but when girl began making sarcastic comments and being completely rude, she looked up at her with her presently yellow eyes in an 'excuse me?' fashion. She shot up from her seat and glared at the girl before uttering some words of agitation "Um, excuse me? Who the hell do you think you are. Wait, I know, a new kid that came from a place where everything was given to you. You'd better shut up and not be so rude, you came in at the wrong time and acted like a bitch to the wrong girl." Fade's face turned from happiness to annoyance and surprise.
Who the hell does she think she is? I was having so much fun, she had to come in here and ruin this for me? Oh hell no, I'll get her ass out of here if she keeps being so bitchy to me. Anyone that really knew Fade would know that she was more than mad, she was cussing, that was just the begining, if she were to be agitated more, she would go on a cussing rampage where ever bad word under the sun would be screamed from her lungs before she would lunge on the person. Jenny was used to rude people, but when anyone was rude to her, they're find some of their 'valued' possessions missing along with money and anything else she could think of. No one was rude to her and got away with it. Especially not at the mansion, everyone was nice here, why would she be here unless she had some decency and respect?
Deathstar was still looking in the refrigerator and pulled out a pitcher of juice when fade was responding to her rude behavior..* she turns around and sits the juice on the counter, and walks into fade face "If you wanna do something, I suggest you do it" she said with a sadistic smirk on her face "I don't come from a place where everything was handed to me, I had to take it" Deathstar says looking deep into fades eyes and with so much emotion * her eyes begin to turn all black, and her fist are balled up* "Now be a smart girl!!..and don't start trouble with a trouble maker" and then she gave fade a sarcatics grin...
Raphael rolled his shoulders and was about to respond to her when Deathstar walked in and gave her unwanted opinion. His first impulse, which he squashed down into the pit of his stomach, had been to drop the intruder of their private conversation. As Fade beat him to the punch on confronting Deathstar, he remained seated, watching the pair. Careful to note the stances of the women, and rose from his seat and walked over next to Fade as Deathstar clenched her fist and her eyes changed. He knew he would not stop himself if the woman hurt Fade, and chose to attempt to defuse the situation before it came to blows.
“Vending machines are in the other side of the mansion. And this, as is the rest of the mansion, is a place of free thought, and action. We are permitted to discuss whatever we want, anywhere we want to. But to answer your question, it is a kitchen. And being a kitchen that means you will have to make a cake yourself if you want it. Ample supplies here for the accomplished baker, though I would not expect you to be up to the task,” He looked down at Fade. “Let us go find some scissors and a water-bottle and set to hair-cutting in a place that will not get hair into our future meals.”
He draped his arm around Fade’s shoulders and left the kitchen, being forceful with her if she resisted, all the while being mindful of the goth in the room, just incase she chose to try to sneak in a cheap shot. He led Fade out of the kitchen and down the hall.
(ooc: fade, jump us somewhere else if you dun mind)
Her eyes changed back to normal, and her fist unravels, she laughed sadisticly "looks like I did my job, ...and for you Ralph or whatever you call yourself" she smiles as if she got what she wanted "If you would ever threatened me again * she pauses* there will be hell to pay, don't embarass yourself in front your little girlie friend" she turns around as nothing they said bothered her and continues to look through the refrigerator
Billy hummed and whistled cheerfully to himself as he successfully followed his nose to the kitchen. Finding no one there he set about looking through all the cupboards to see what was available. He had his custom cookbook with him - he'd picked it up after his bathroom adventure - and he intended to make himself a right decent feed. Hmm.. what to make, what to make.. pondered Billy, thumbing through his recipes. He was only 15, but because of his need for plenty of decent meals he had become a really good cook out of necessity. "Aha, this will do the trick," said Billy aloud with his finger marking a recipe for simple but tasty bread. It was a recipe of his own design and had made many mealtimes cheerful and blissful.
He dug out the necessary ingrediants and set about preparing the bread dough.
Thump.. flump... whistle.. Billy pushed and kneaded and stretched the dough, with a speed and skill that a normal man - better at cooking than he - could not. He gave the dough another roll and knead, then pressed it into a bread tin and popped it into the oven, which he had preheated. Then he grabbed some plain white bread out of the cupboard, some butter and spaghetti out of the fridge - and made a sandwich. He smiled gleefully as he chomped into the sandwich and felt its nutrious goodness slide down his gullet into his growling stomach. Billy took note of the time at which he would have to get the bread out of the oven, then wandered off to find the danger room.
