The X-men run missions and work together with the NYPD, striving to maintain a peaceful balance between humans and mutants. When it comes to a fight, they won't back down from protecting those who need their help.
Haven presents itself as a humanitarian organization for activists, leaders, and high society, yet mutants are the secret leaders working to protect and serve their kind. Behind the scenes they bring their goals into reality.
From the time when mutants became known to the world, SUPER was founded as a black-ops division of the CIA in an attempt to classify, observe, and learn more about this new and rising threat.
The Syndicate works to help bring mutantkind to the forefront of the world. They work from the shadows, a beacon of hope for mutants, but a bane to mankind. With their guiding hand, humanity will finally find extinction.
Since the existence of mutants was first revealed in the nineties, the world has become a changed place. Whether they're genetic misfits or the next stage in humanity's evolution, there's no denying their growing numbers, especially in hubs like New York City. The NYPD has a division devoted to mutant related crimes. Super-powered vigilantes help to maintain the peace. Those who style themselves as Homo Superior work to tear society apart for rebuilding in their own image.

Wicklow, Ireland. Its the irish equivalent of your canadian rockies.
Loved it there, so quiet, forest's as far as you can see. Was a good place to practice my powers. I loved messing with servitors there, favorite of mine was a dragon.
Skoliro walked behind them quietly, not really minding that he wasn't really in the conversation. He was listing though, and he chuckled to himself when Iris made the comment about the talking animals. The other he now learned was from Ireland, some where in the mountains. Geography really didn't matter to him, he flew where he flew and that's where he landed. Sometimes if he was going some where in particular he would find a landmark in the area and search the animal's minds, but he never used a map.
Skoliro looked up from his feet which he had been watching. The way the weight was dispersed on them and how they managed to hold up the body always intrigued him, since he usually flew. Often when walking he would trip, but never when any one was looking. Well, I can only connect directly with there mind, so I can sort of talk to there thoughts. He shrugged suddenly extremely modest about his power.
Always wondered what it would be like to have psychic abilities.
But im happy with my energy, it so much fun. Specially when around others like us.
*Turning into his bedroom he wondered how the two would react to his "style". But seeing as this was a new home he hoped everyone would eventually get used to him*
”You said you did not know exactly what to do with your power, right?” the question was rhetorical, but Raphael asked it anyways, as it lead into his true question a little better. “What exactly is your mutation?”
He crossed the kitchen and flicked on the faucet, grabbing a glass from a cabinet and making it look like he knew his way around the kitchen… which he did, kind of. He filled the glass and set it on the counter near her, and then sauntered over to the fridge, opening it and pulling out a bundle of grapes, which he promptly began munching on, one at a time. He set the bunch of grapes on the counter and leaned on it, watching her. “I apologize if I’ve put you on the spot, if you’re not comfortable talking about it…”

Raina stared intently at the glass of water. She opened her mouth- an began to sing. The lyrics were a long lost language, and the song was a haunting one of sorrow. Though she tried to be very quiet- Anyone in or around the kitchen would have felt goosebumps rising. The glass infront of Rapheal shook a little, and then suddenly the water completley glistened over in ice. The song was beautiful and captivating- but it was evident that her power had something to do with her voice in melody and the ice frozen in the glass that was now creeping across the grapes leaving spidery veins of frost. Raina stopped as a grape fell frozen and shattered on the floor. She was quiet for sometime.
"In my tribe..." she started. "There were legends of chanters who would protect the people in times of troubles by calling out the ellements through song..." she trailed off a moment lost in her own thoughts. "... I was raised as a chanter- though the art of chanting is purley ritual now, nobody in thousands of years has actually called out an ellement before, untill me." she fumbled at her waist where her tritant usually was.. but remembered it was in her room on the floor. Though the tool did nothing to harness her powers- she felt a little naked without it.
"My people thought it was magic, some gift from heaven... but it turns out... it's just my mutation.... maybe those old chanters were really just mutants too." she fingered the frozen glass "that's about all I can do right now. Something is my sound waves draws the water out of the air and freezes it. It means I can never sing without freezing something, it's a bit of a bummer!" she added that last bit in a comical way to lighten the mood.
She suddenly felt like she was being self absorbed and turned to him, "What can you do?" though eyeing him up and down she had a pretty good instinct.
Raphael popped another grape into his mouth as Raina began singing in response to his question. Then he felt the hairs on his arm stand up, goosebumps prickling his flesh. He was not one to get cold easily, but he shivered at that moment anyways. He watched the ice form over the glass and spread quickly through the water until the entire thing was frozen solid. He then clicked his teeth a little bit, watching a portion of his snack freeze, and drop to the floor and shatter.
An interesting ability… seems more than one person controls their mutation by their voice… he thought, though it did not detract from his attention to her story. He bobbed his head, picking at the unfrozen grapes. “It’s only a bummer if you have a knack for singing, which obviously you do. I however lack and ability to sing so…” he shrugged some, and graciously accepted her return question, pondering for a moment how best to answer it.
“I hurt people,” he said with a smile. Okay, so that was a bit morbid of him to say, but it was mostly true. His used his mutations to wade into foes and hurt them, he had even gone so far as to make a living off of it for awhile. “Okay, so that’s a bit morbid of me to say, but…” he lifted his right arm, and extended his silvery adamantium coated elbow blade out for a moment so she could see it, before retracting it back into his arm. “There’s not a lot I can use these for that isn’t violent in nature. I also heal mighty quick, stab me and I’ll barely bleed as my wound closes so quickly.”
He smiled benevolently, eyes glowing green as he seemed to stare right into the essence of her life-force. “And I see souls. I don't have a history behind mine though, my family immediately exiled me when my mutation made itself apparent.”
Raphael clicked his teeth together at the memory of that, glancing down at the grapes and studying them rather intently.

Raina looked at him in awe. She didn't see mutations very often, but defenetly none like his. Before she realised what she was doing she was leaning over the table looking right at his elbow. "Does it hurt?" she wanted to ask but didn't... her eyes pretty much said it. Then she remembered the second part of what he said "Souls?" she asked. "My culture believes we have an animal kindren spirit represented in our souls. What do you see?"
Raphael dealt with reading opponents in the ring, frequently judging by the slightest of movements, or glances. Judging in an instance’s notice how someone, or something, might move. He read the question in her eyes, and determined he would ask her about it later. He closed his eyes and gave his head a shake, clearing the green glow from them as she voiced a question.
“I guess ‘life-force’ would be a better description for it. It is a greenish haze that everyone has about them. It can look a little ghostly when I see someone through a door or wall, or someone who can render themselves invisible. I saw in you the same I see in everyone I’ve looked at. A greenish haze. The creepy part is…” he cut himself off, unsure how she felt about killing. “You had another question that you are hesitant to ask, what is it?”

Raina blushed "I'm that read-able 'eh?" She rested her chin in her hand while leaning on the table. "I guess I was just wondering if mutations like yours hurt. So far today I've met a robot guy, a girl who can use the ellements, and a girl with inresistable charm- if you know what I mean. It didn't seem like any of their powers really hurt them." she rolled a frozen grape around with one of her fingers while waiting for his responce.
”To hurt others, as I said my mutation is primarily used for, you need to fight others. To fight others, successfully, you need to be able to read them.” He put on a smile that looked way too gentle for him. “Another might not have seen the question in your eyes. But to answer your question, yes and no. Every time I ‘draw’ one of my two elbow blades it hurts. Every single time, with out fail. And to be able to heal something quickly, I need to be injured, in that case it also hurts. My mutation does not make me impervious to pain, merely nearly impervious to significant long term injury.” Oh how he knew that well from his time within Fusionist’s lab… “but as for my life-aura sight… just makes me dizzy if I try to run around with it ‘turned on’. I do hope that answers your question, have you others?”

Raina shook her head. "No, I'm just pretty taken aback by all of this." She pushed her red hair out of her eyes and for a moment underneath all the hair and clothes her ethnicity was showing through. "You have friends here?" she asked more so trying to make conversation.
ooc: sorry I wanna keep going but i'm running outta ideas since I'm still new to the forum
"I have a handful of friends here," Raphael responded. Those he counted as friends here he could list off on the fingers of one hand, though he knew a whole lot of the residents of the mansion. "I'm sure you'll fit in just fine. Tell me a little bit more about yourself, yes? Oh, can you melt ice as well as freeze it? How about creating, say, just cubes?"
He turned around, digging out another glass and filling it with water and slid it over to her. "I assume you are still thirsty, yes?"
