Funny, a couple of weeks ago the word 'Girlfriend' sounded like a curse word of particular strength to Emily. Skye had caused a profound effect on Emily's life in the short time they'd known each other. She was definitely happier than she'd been previously, she even credited becoming friends with Alice to getting to know Skye and realising she was hiding from the world a little too much. It was nice to have made some friends instead of just brooding all the time, truth be told.

"So I did~ I think you agreed to be mine, I asked first~" She teased. "And you're somehow even cuter when you're nervous." She chirped.

She wasn't sure, but she nodded anyway. She shifted a little more now, her head was in Skye's lap. "Thank you." She murmured quietly, turning her attention back to the movie.

Emily had to admit. It was weird having friends, as a plural. She'd had people she referred to as such before obviously, but it wasn't quite the same as having people she trusted and actually wanted to be around like all of the time. Although was it now friend singular given a sudden status change... Not that it really mattered. Her relationship with Alice was obviously very different than her other non-familial relationship. In many ways, but one she felt was that the two of them got on very well.

They had similar personalities in a lot of ways, shared interests and views on topics and both held a heavily rebellious streak.

She'd gotten slightly caught up at work with a sudden influx of paperwork towards the end of the day. Apparently there were some more traumatic things going on at the mansion and in the city, people de-aging, rumoured kidnappings and reports of a tiny blonde psycho among them.

She walked across to the meeting spot with Alice in a bit of a stressed out huff. She had some goodies in her handbag for hanging out with Alice, and a fake ID if they decided to go into the city.

Emily smirked. "I find it both cute and amusing that it can take you so long to work out your feelings when they are quite literally on display for the whole world to see." She teased. Emily smiled again, it was so funny. She'd done exactly the same thing Skye had. Starting messages, and then deleting them because she wanted to give Skye the space. She just didn't stop herself in time tonight. Oh well. It had definitely worked out for the best all things considered.

She was actually unsure of how good she was at reading other people's inner thoughts and feelings prior to her power manifesting. She'd like to think she'd still been decent at it, but it'd been so long ago at this point that she couldn't really say for any certainty. Even if she was a late bloomer by most mutant standards judging by the mansion's average age, it was still several years back at this point and she truly could not remember much of that period at all.

Emily giggled when Skye kissed her forehead. The warm, elated feeling spread throughout her again. This was so comforting and safe, she burrowed into the snuggle a bit more, turning back to the movie and concentrating on it, very at ease.

The characters had sort of worked out what was going on now. They were trying to apply a method to work out who was an alien and who was not. To Emily's surprise their method was kind of cool, and didn't directly rip off the far better movie this one was a prequel to. The girl from Scot Pilgrim seemed to be carrying the movie with her acting. This was a good thing. Horror films could easily be made or broken not on the monsters in question, but the final girl. In Emily's honest opinion.

Blinking and blushing a little more she glanced up at Skye. "Maybe." She felt a little uncomfortable all of a sudden, for some reason.

"I'm glad you agree." She nodded a little, feeling like she was wrapped in all of Skye's happy emotions she felt very warm and very comfortable. It was odd, she always felt like she'd be able to sleep when she was sitting with Skye, even more so now.

As the yay came out of Skye's lips Emily giggled, moving and leaning her head on her girlfriend again for a moment. The contact and proximity made her feel so floaty and elated, even more so now that Skye felt confident and at ease with their status. If Emily was being honest with herself it made her feel super giddy too.

Recovering from her little squeak and jump Emily blushed. She was glad that Skye didn't think she was lame for jumping. It wasn't like she was bad with Horror movies, it was mostly just that she'd been distracted by snogging her girlfriend, and flailing about being in an actual relationship. She nodded gently. "They're not terrible."

It was Emily's turn to shiver a little when Skye started playing with her own hair. She blushed a little and looked back at Skye. It was odd to literally feel romance in the air when there was a person splitting half, sprouting teeth and tentacles from the centre their split up body, Emily did find it slightly amusing that they were feeling super romantic with the backdrop of a body horror movie .

The purple light was pretty, and so was Skye. The millionth Skye driven blush graced her cheeks as she listened to Skye and just stared into her eyes. "Skye our feelings had nothing to do with alcohol. They just made it a little easier to skirt around my... Issues." she admitted it out loud, that was something right?

Emily grinned softly. "You know I invited you kind of by accident, I was just trying to start a conversation because I'd been trying to give you space to work out what you wanted, and I was sort of sick of it, I wanted to see you." She let that rest for a moment before placing her hands around Skye's face and guiding her to Emily's own face, this time she placed a kiss on Skye. It was an affectionate, happy loving kiss.

"I wanted to let you work out what you wanted. I want you, even if I have girlfriend issues." She admitted. "I knew how you felt, I just wanted you to think about it. Decide what you thought of your feelings." She purred. "So. Wanna be my girlfriend?" She winked.

Emily almost immediately thought she had done something wrong when Skye shivered, and then she felt the positive emotions emanating from Skye so she instead smiled and held on gently, smiling at Skye she kind of snuggled up against her, enjoying the warmth and feeling of being right up against Skye. She murmured. "I like being close to you, your emotions are so warm." absentmindedly.

She thought about saying something several times when she sensed Skye's mild turmoil, but when Skye settled down into content she left it alone, continuing to cuddle up and watch the movie. They knew about the alien now, the suspicion of who was the thing was starting to set in. The film wasn't terrible, so far.

On reflection it was probably a good thing the student Gemma brought in was Alice. Emily weirdly placed a lot of trust in her, she was pretty upfront about intent. Even if Emily hadn't been able to read her emotions, as she currently could not, she'd have a pretty good idea of what was going on in the blue covered head most of the time. And she really appreciated that. It also helped that Alice could keep up with Emily when it came to her black belt in bitch-fu.

Emily blinked, and did her best to hide a wide smile. Alice was definitely not awkward. She really wasn't sure how much she'd talk in this situation. This was both because she wasn't fully aware of the social dynamic in the situation, and also because she didn't want to say something stupid to Alice in front of her boss.

Past demons? What sort of relationship did Alice HAVE with Gemma? Emily figured she wasn't the type to open up to many people, and she'd glimpsed some of Alice's past. She certainly wasn't unstable, and further she seemed to know exactly who she was. In fact the only troublesome personality trait Emily could think of came as a result of Alice being super spoiled.
