The X-men run missions and work together with the NYPD, striving to maintain a peaceful balance between humans and mutants. When it comes to a fight, they won't back down from protecting those who need their help.
Haven presents itself as a humanitarian organization for activists, leaders, and high society, yet mutants are the secret leaders working to protect and serve their kind. Behind the scenes they bring their goals into reality.
From the time when mutants became known to the world, SUPER was founded as a black-ops division of the CIA in an attempt to classify, observe, and learn more about this new and rising threat.
The Syndicate works to help bring mutantkind to the forefront of the world. They work from the shadows, a beacon of hope for mutants, but a bane to mankind. With their guiding hand, humanity will finally find extinction.
Since the existence of mutants was first revealed in the nineties, the world has become a changed place. Whether they're genetic misfits or the next stage in humanity's evolution, there's no denying their growing numbers, especially in hubs like New York City. The NYPD has a division devoted to mutant related crimes. Super-powered vigilantes help to maintain the peace. Those who style themselves as Homo Superior work to tear society apart for rebuilding in their own image.

Well it was official. Abby was lost.
The new growth of the hedge maze did nothing to help her find her way. Originally just wanting a place to work on her homework, the shifter had made her way to one of the gazebos in the maze. It was one of the few places she could find without getting lost. Of course when she got there, it was already taken by some... affectionate older students.
Abby decided to move on and find a different one to work at. Which led her to where she was now. Sitting in the middle of a three-way crossing, trying to figure out how to get out. Even with the hedges just beginning to grow leaves, the maze was effective. It did it's job. A little too well for the blonde teen.
Instead of further trying to find her way out, and probably get even more lost, Abbigail had decided to just sit and do her homework. It would still take her a while to find the exit, but at least she wouldn't have to worry about her homework while she looked.
Math wasn't too hard this time of year. Most of the work was review for the state tests. They were covering the beginnings of algebra and some simple geometry, but it wasn't as hard as history for her. She groaned a little at the thought. History was so hard. Why did people fight all the time?

God, it was becoming harder and harder everyday to find places that were quiet to sit in. The hedge maze SEEMED like a good idea at the time, but then she got kind of lost. Panicked, freaked out and almost phoned someone for help, until she realised how quiet it was there. Emotionally that is. There were very few students who actually were here. The rest of the mansion had been bustling with activity, and it was hard to go into an area without 10+ students causing a headache.
There were still some issues. Some students getting what she presumed was hot and heavy for a bit, which was very very distracting. Eventually though it quietened down a little bit and she popped her headphones over her head, found a quiet corner with some shade and started reading through some notes she'd made in a lesson the other day.
After about an hour of doing this from her corner she peeked up and saw another girl sitting and doing what looked like more work. Emily wasn't sure if she was unnoticed till she glanced up and saw that the shadow of the tree was covering her.
She glanced up at the girl and cleared her throat a little. "Urm, hello."

She was just beginning the second to last problem when someone cleared their throat. Jumping a little, Abby looked around before finding someone by the tree. Waving at the person, who sounded female and looked to have long hair but that wasn't much of an indicator. "Hi," she replied.
Looking around, the blonde tried to figure out what else she could say. School was kinda boring. Everyone had school here. Mutations were kinda a thing no one asked about unless they were used. The maze? Weather? Uh...

Emily hadn't really picked up all that much from the younger looking girl other than the fact that she startled her, which she didn't really feel as bad for as she probably should have. A little confusion and curiosity mixed in there, which was good because it meant that she probably wasn't making overt assumptions about Emily, which some people might have. She tried to keep herself a little neutral towards the new girl, and bat down the inherent passive aggressive reaction that came up.
Was she lost?... Well, kind of. Maybe. Prob-Yes. Yes she was lost. How old was this girl anyway? She couldn't be that old... early teens at the most. She saw a flash of... Pointier teeth than she was expecting. Okay, Emily had met a few monster's at the school and this girl didn't seem to be too aggressive or anything like that. Something up with her feet too. Huh. Emily wondered for a few moments before realising she'd not responded.
"Oh-um... No, not really." She lied. "I was just looking for a quiet spot."

Abby nodded at the older girl's explanation. That was close to why she had been in the maze to begin with. Turning her attention back to her homework, the blonde set about finishing her task. "Me too. But I got lost in here," she explained.
This last problem was a graphing one and she always tried to get her lines as straight as she could on her first try. She hated having to erase and start all over. Made the paper messy. Sticking out her tongue as she concentrated, Abbigail used the side of her notebook to make the line.
There!
There was still light out but it was getting later. Dinner would be soon. Probably. "Do you think you could help me?" she asked. "Dinner should be soon and I don't really wanna spend the night out here." The teen giggled at the thought. It wouldn't be so bad. Cafas would find her. Or Adder. But still. Food.

Emily smiled a little at the girl and moved forwards to actually interact with her, closing her notes and gently slipping them back into her bag. Okay, so maybe lying about being lost wasn't the smartest move. And she wasn't entirely sure where to go with that now. The girl wasn't embarrassed or anything, and was now asking her for help. Emily hadn't intended on disappointing anyone when she'd gone wandering the maze dammit.
She blushed a little at the request. "Okay... So maybe I am a little lost... I just didn't want to look like a ditz." She replied a little bashfully.

Abby giggled a little as the older girl admitted to being lost as well. Smiling big and wide at the girl, she went on to assure her it was alright. "That's okay. Can we still try to get out together? Two heads are better than one after all."
Putting her homework, notebook, and textbook into her bag, the blonde stood up from her spot on the ground. Doing a slow turn, she checked to make sure she hadn't forgotten anything. Trying to get back here to find something she lost would probably be as hard as finding their way out. Another check just to make doubly sure.

Emily smiled at the other girl. She'd expected some kind of a slightly harsher reaction, especially considering it was fairly obvious that she'd been lying over the other thing. The girl seemed pretty young though all things considered, so maybe it was that young naivete shining through, she wasn't entirely sure on that front though. It was always possible that Abby was genuinely just a friendly person.
She smiled at the younger girl and offered her hand. "Nice to meet you Abby, I'm Emily." She supplied, wandering exactly what the other girl's mutation entailed.

"How long have you been here, Emily?" Abby asked as she accepted the offered hand. Taking a look at the directions open to them, the blonde pulled the older girl towards the right path.
