The X-men run missions and work together with the NYPD, striving to maintain a peaceful balance between humans and mutants. When it comes to a fight, they won't back down from protecting those who need their help.
Haven presents itself as a humanitarian organization for activists, leaders, and high society, yet mutants are the secret leaders working to protect and serve their kind. Behind the scenes they bring their goals into reality.
From the time when mutants became known to the world, SUPER was founded as a black-ops division of the CIA in an attempt to classify, observe, and learn more about this new and rising threat.
The Syndicate works to help bring mutantkind to the forefront of the world. They work from the shadows, a beacon of hope for mutants, but a bane to mankind. With their guiding hand, humanity will finally find extinction.
Since the existence of mutants was first revealed in the nineties, the world has become a changed place. Whether they're genetic misfits or the next stage in humanity's evolution, there's no denying their growing numbers, especially in hubs like New York City. The NYPD has a division devoted to mutant related crimes. Super-powered vigilantes help to maintain the peace. Those who style themselves as Homo Superior work to tear society apart for rebuilding in their own image.

She gave him a partial truth. He had expected a lie. Sure she hadn't gone into all the details bit if Max had been in her place would he not have done the same. Everyone keeps secrets it's a part of life. He scolded himself for his paranoia and for thinking she might have been up to something. He didn't go around gushing all his issues, he couldn't very well expect her to.
He looked into her eyes and felt guilty. Man he could be a real creep sometimes. But if he wanted to build something with this girl honesty was important. He would be straight with her from now on. She asked about his job. Well shit.
"Technically I'm a waiter at the Inferno club." He began.
He wanted to make something up, but he couldn't lie to her. He also knew he couldn't tell her everything. Instead he settled on telling her what he could and what was relevant.
"Haven is an organization that does community outreach and helps people with rehabilitation and finding opportunities to further themselves and their education," He explained, " when I was living at the mansion I wasn't in the best place, I was unemployed, wasn't going to school. See my parents when I moved to NYC they gave me an ultimatum, law school or I was cut off. I wanted to be a dancer, so I told them what they could do with their money."
He looked away embarrassed. That had been a bad fight and Max hoped it wasn't the last memory he would get to have of his parents.
"I met the founder of Haven and told him my story. He really is an amazing guy, he's not the usual corporate asshole who only does volunteer stuff for the tax credit. He wants to help make a difference in people's lives. He helped get me my apartment, got me a job at the club. It was great. I felt like such a mooch at the mansion, I'm not cut out for that X-men stuff. I work for the organization planning fundraisers and filing reports and such. I'm still letting them help me with my living arrangements but at least pulling my weight a bit helped me not feel like such a loser ."
Wow that had been a bit more than he had planned on saying. Something about this girl made him feel like spilling his guts, and he had. As far as first dates go he knew better than to tell his sob story. All he could do now was hope she didn't think poorly of him.

Max fell for it hook line and sinker. Kendra had given him this sultry look as she hyped up a question that would determine the fate of his evening. He was leaning in slightly towards him when she asked for his preference in burrito toppings. He let out a laugh.
"See you're approaching the question all wrong," He said wiggling an eyebrow mischievously, " The secret to the perfect burrito isn't the toppings, everyone can throw some lettuce and tomato or beans in a tortilla. It's the meat that makes it. you gotta cook it just right to get a solid flavor, and spices, don't even get me started on the spices."
He leaned back in is chair confidently.
"Next date shall be Mexican Fiesta at my place I'll show you what I'm talking about. Mrs. Dominique who used to baby sit me didn't raise no fool." He said.
Things were going well. He was having fun. It seemed like a rather pleasant surprise to him. He could see that Kendra was still the clumsy nervous girl he had met at the beach. The thought of her being involved in shady corporate deals seemed so far out there.
"So I forgot to ask did you end up in trouble that day at the beach?" He asked taking a moment to pause and gauge her reaction to the question, " I mean you bolted from the mansion pretty quick when you woke up didn't know if anyone had gotten onto you."
Maxs mew FC of Dylan O Brian needs a nice new sig. Color schemewise I'd go Purple and Black. Just Charrie name Max Rosewood and GravBomb somewhere on it. Looking through your work you do an amazing job

Max listened intently as Kendra spoke.
- "I'm from Georgia. I'm suppose'n you prolly figured that from my accent by'now."
He smiled as the southern bell became apparent in her voice. It wasn't incredibly pronounced but now that he was listening for it he could hear it.
"Georgia girl eh? I'm originally from Virginia. Dad's a doctor and Mom's a lawyer. At least they were last time I heard from them." Max explained.
He hadn't talked to his parents in over a year. He knew they loved him but things has been stressed between them when he moved. After being dead for a year Max hadn't mustered up the courage to call and let then know he was alive. They would want to see him, they would want answer, and Max didn't have any. He decided to focus on his current company rather then dwell on the past.
- "I read, I'm a photography nerd, and on the riskier side of thangs. I'm an urban explorer. Exploring abandoned and haunted buildings. You dream every night you find yourself with a lot of time to walk around and explore."
So an artist huh?
"I'd love to see some of your work sometime. I'm big on art. My passion is dance and acting though though. One day I'm gonna make it no matter what." He grinned proudly.
The waiter came and took Kendra's order.
"I'll have the lasagna." Max told the man.
He departed to put the meal in and Max took another drink of his water.
"Do what brings you to the city?" He asked curiosly.

Agnes seemed quite pleasant, Max was glad for the company. He hadn't gotten to know very many people since joining Haven and having a fun workout session seemed like a great way to spend an afternoon.
Agnes walked over to the console and activated the room. Max saw the shapes appear, some the size of softballs, others as large as cars. He had only ever really messed with solid light holotech at the mansion, this seemed pretty impressive.
She picked up a ball and asked for a drmonstration and joked with him. She seemed playful and Max grinned.
"Me shy? You got a lot to learn my friend." He smiled.
He took a few steps and approached a cube that was roughly a foot taller than him and just as wide. He reached out and touched it, layering his power over it and nullifying the gravity. With one hand he pulled the cube up and held it above his head.
"I've got super strength." He said his expression serious.
He lowered his hand from the cube and it floated above him.
"Just kidding," He laughed, " I have gravitation manipulation.
He places his hand under the cube again and used his other hand to spin it like a basketball. The cube spun round and round balances on his fingertips.
"I have a personal field of gravity that I can control on myself and anything I touch. I can nullify gravity and make object or myself float or..." He explained.
He pulled his arm back and threw a punch up at the cube. As his fist met the object he changes the field of gravity around it, changing the pull of gravity to double that of Earth's and augmenting the direction straight up. The cube blasted upward, it's mass and weight propelling it. It smashed Into the ceiling high above and shattered into a number of pieces. His field of gravity dispersed as the cube broke and shards fell harmless down around him.
"I can increase the strength and direction of gravity to throw things or pin them to other things." He concluded.
He collected a few smaller shapes; a sphere, a pyramid, and a cylinder. Each was about the size of a softball. He used his power on them and they floated in place around him. With his dancers grace he spun in the center, doing a triple spin and watched as the momentum carried the objects into a circular orbit around him, each one propelled by the momentum of the others.
"My power layers over things, so mass and weight aren't a factor only surface area. I can effect a bunch of small object or one big one. My maximum I've ever tried was a car." He continued.
He reached out and touched the sphere, returning gravity to normal. The sphere fell. He did the same to the others.
"I have to touch the objects to effect their fields, that or wait for my power to wear off. I can use it in bursts as much as I want but can only keep a constant field going for about three minutes." He concluded.

Jacquelyn Dyer was an imposing figure to say the least. She was dressed like you would expect the manager of such a luxurious establishment to be and the surgical mask raised Max's curiosity. He was tall, like way tall and as he extended her hand Max had to tilt his head back to look into her eyes.
"Pleasure. I'm doing quite well. How about yourself?" He responded.
He wasn't scared, more nervous. He really wanted this job and even though he assumed Jack could pick him up and snap him in two the logical part of his brain reminded him that all he needed to do was not give her a reason to.
"To be honest I'm resisting the urge to hit the dance floor. This is one hell of a setup you have here. The Xynes 450 is class," He said gesturing up at the light system suspended above, " And the dance floor looks like it has a super receptive music synchronization software. This place is great."
Max had been to a ton of clubs, but the Inferno juat had sometjing special about it.He stopped fawning over the stuff as he reminded himself why he was here. He needed the job, not another stage to take on.
"Devon said you were looking for a waiter and some event staff. I'm willing to work whatever shifts you need and I live right upstairs so I won't ever call off." He said nervously.

He didn't have to wait long. The doors slid open and he saw Agnes enter the room dressed for exercise. He tried not to stare as he noticed the wings fluttering behind her, insect like.
"That's cool" He thought to himself.
He assumed she was the one who had contacted him and grinned. He had met her at the gala and seen her perform. The woman was a virtuoso on a violin. He had made it a point to say hello. He didn't know she was a true member of Haven, most of the people he had run into that night had been front members or guests.
- -”Max,”
She extended her hand out to him and he shook it in return.
-”Great to see you again. Sorry if I didn’t say before, but, welcome to Haven.”
"You too. It's no big I didn't even know you were one of the functioning members. I'm glad to be here. Thanks for the invitation I've been dying to get to come down here, I've been missing the Danger room." He replied.
He took a few steps back and took a wide stance, stretching his legs and warming them up after sitting. He didn't know what Agnes could do, and he felt a pang of curiosity. Her wings were interesting, what other neat tricks did she have up her sleeve?
"So did you have something particular in mind you wanted to work on?" He asked as he raised his arms up and popped his back, "Do you know about my ability? Maybe a quick briefing for each other before we get into anything." He suggested.

Max greeted her when She approached. She looked great, though Max knew she would. She had been stunning in pajamas of course she'd be easy on the eyes when she was all dolled up. The attendant at the front desk took his reservation name and brought them back to a table.
-"Um..Nice place."
"Thanks. Though I got the recommendation from a friend so if the foods bad it's not my fault." He joked.
They were seated at a table that was spaced out well enough to allow privacy. Max and ordered a drink as he glanced over at Kendra. He thought he would be more nervous, dating had never really been Max's strong suit, but for some reason he didn't feel the pressure. Maybe it was that she had already kissed him the day before, or the fact that they had hit it off immediately but he found himself relaxed.
The waiter left for a moment and Max looked at his menu. Damn, sure enough this place was going to cost him a pretty penny, but as he looked at his date he decided it was money well spent.
"So shall we skip the awkward small talk and just get into the real getting to know each other part? Where are you from? What do you like to do when you're not visiting beaches?" He said with a grin.

Max looked at himself in the mirror, making sure he looked okay. He had on a black button up that he had left untucked with the sleeves tolled up. He hadn't put on his fanny pack, tonight was a night he was hoping not to have to use his powers. A purple tie hung loosely around his neck and he donned a matching flat billed hat to accent it. He promised to never again mock the style magazines that he had found in the Haven registration waiting room again.
"Dinner huh? Aren't you acting like a grown up?" He said to his reflection.
He went downstairs and hailed a cab. Business had been good at Inferno so far and Max had brought in some decent tips. Patrons of the club seemed to like him and aside from a few drunk advances he had mostly found it a pleasant set up.
As he rode along he thought over his last time with kendra. The girl was drop dead gorgeous that was for sure, and sweet as could be. It was the assassination attempt in her that had Max worried.
He'd done his homework on the address to the building the assailant had gone to. It belonged to a company known as Nexus, which according to a less than informative website was a temp agency. Aside from a business liscence which dated the company starting roughly five years ago and a number of dull testimonials from secretaries who had landed their "dream jobs" by using their services there wasn't much to go on. They had apparently purchased a number of buildings all around the country, but it just didn't add up.
Max would go to dinner and talk with kendra. If she was involved in any shady corporate espionage maybe she would slip and Max could figure out what was going on. If she was into some shady business Max could dig a little depper. If not well, did he mention she was gorgeous?
He got out of the cab outside the resturant and waited for her. He had given her the address. Fazios had been a recommendation of one of Max's Haven friends and though it was a bit swanky he had gotten a good reservation. He had a planned a few surprises for the evening and was mostly just hoping things would go well.

Inferno was absolutly stunning. The place had the perfect balance of class and club. The place wasn't packed but had a healthy crowd for the night. Music blared and Max looked out onto the light up dance floor. The theater tech in him started imagining the kinds of light setups he could do with such a sweet set up, but he needed to focus. He wasn't here for fun.
He looked up into the VIP section above. He couldn't see up there but he could make out movement. That's where he wanted to be. One day he was gonna make it. Call him a dreamer but that was the plan.
Tonight Max was wearing a button down shirt sucked into a pair of jeans. He still had his fanny pack but his hair was pulled up and tucked into the fedora he had perched on his head. He approached the bar and motioned for the bartender.
"I'm here to see Chief. I was told she was here tonight. Max said.
The bartender gave him an assessing look,
"Yeah hold on just a minute." He said polietly.
The bartender walked off and Max waited. After he had settled into his new digs upstairs he had inquired about employment. Devon had directed him to talk to Chief, the club manager, to find some work. It would be nice to have some steady income again, Haven was doing a lot to help Max get back on his feet but he didn't want to be taking advantage mooching off the hospitality

Max made it just in time to look down into the alley and see a strange man pointing a gun at Kendra. He was prepared to leap down when he saw a pipe float up behind the man.
"So she can dreamwalk even when she's knocked out." He thought to himself.
She whistled and the pipe swung. The man went down. Max couldn't see Kendra but he saw her body and noticed as her hoodie was zipped up. Her body started to move and for a moment he thought she was waking up until he realized she was being dragged. Kendra found a spot to hide her body and a tarp covered her unconscious form.
He saw the man's wallet come out of his pocket and his ID vanish. His phone came out next and a moment later Max heard it ring.
"Clever girl." He thought.
The man picked up and shouted into the phone. He punched a dumpster and even from his vantage point Max could easily see the dent he left in it. He exited the alley and Max felt himself torn on what to do. He could reveal himself to Kendra and make sure she was okay, but that meant revealing himself.
The situation seemed fishy to Max. The guy had obviously been out to kill her. He must have not been aware of her ability or he would have never knocked her out. For the first time Max realized just how little he knew about Kendra. What was this girl into? She had handled herself well, but was this something she was used to.
He decided to follow the man. Kendra was dreamwalking near her body and she could look after herself. He vaulted some building and followed the assailant as he made his way from street to street. After about ten minutes Max saw him go into an unmarked office building across the street. If he had been following Kendra he might have seen Max with her. Better to do some recon than find himself in trouble.
He pulled out his phone and took a picture of the address on the side of the building. He would do some research on the place once he got home. He could talk to Kendra about what he found out, but maybe it was better to keep it to himself. If she was involved with shady assassin's who knew what was going on. One thing was for sure, he needed to know more about the girl.
Max entered the locker room and changed into his training gear. He was wearing his combat boots, army green tactical pants, and a black t-shirt with the Haven symbol on the front. His fanny pack was packed and on him. He had filled it with bandages? His yo-yos, a few rolls of change, and some snacks.
He had woken up that morning to find a letter slipped under his door. Apparently he was to meet in CLASS to work on training with a fellow Haven member. Apparently even though the group was comprised of a lot of solo operatives they also likes to ensure that teamwork could be built between members in case pairing were required to achieve an objective.
Max was nervous. He was still pretty new to Haven. When he had been let in and told the truth about the organization he had felt a rush of excitement. He had the opportunity to help his fellow mutants, to fight for the equality he knew they deserved.
He was the new guy now. His first official training session, and he didn't want to mess it up. Devon had placed his faith in Max, Max didn't want to let him down. He left the locker room and entered CLASS
The place was amazing. The room he found himself was massive and he saw that almost every inch of the floor, walls, and ceiling had seams running across them. He had read the packet documenting the secret training facility. Apparently the room could make just about anything you could imagine inside it's four walls. It meant you never knew what you would be up against.
He took a seat on the floor and waited. His nerves had prompted him to arrive early. Who would he be training with?

The park was deserted, but that was to be expected this late at night. It was exactly the reason Max had waited till after sundown to come out here. He stood among some of the trees in the park perched on a massive rock that stood there. He was wearing sweatpants and his hoodie which he had unzipped to allow the cool night air to hit his bare chest.
Tai Chi was all about the manipulation of energy within oneself to obtain balance and then using that balance to redirect and nutrilize external forces. As Max stood there taking long, deep breaths he focused on his core. Tai Chi was supposed to be incredibly helpful with mental focus and and Max had been studying it for a while. He thought the form of martial art would compliment his dancing skills well.
He slowly increased the gravity on himself and began moving through his various forms. Slow call circles followed by twists and turns, defensive stances and small open palm thrusts. The added gravity would strain his muscles and make them work harder, which meant he would build muscle faster as long as he didn't overdo it and hurt himself.
He gave into the repetition, moving over and over again through his forms until his mind drifted into the motions and he stopped thinking. He used the forms as meditation, freeing his mind to reach a state of calm while his body turned the motions into muscle memory. In a fight it would make his reactions faster, when he danced it would allow him to flow smoother.
He completed his forms and returned to his starting stance, returning gravity to normal as he did. He bowed to an imaginary master and reached down to take a drunk of his water bottle

Max said his farewells to Kendra and watches as she headed back toward the mansion. As cliche as it sounded he hated to see her leave but loved to watch her go. She hit the street in front of him and he begrudgingly tore himself from looking after her and picked up his shirt and hoodie. He wrung out the sand that had ended up inside his clothes and dressed him.
He started up the beach and towards the street to wait for the bus. He'd get a ride to the Haven building and then take a shower and get ready to go to CLASS. He sat down at the bus stop and started playing on his phone for a few minutes. The bus pulled up and Max was about to stand up when he heard two girls talking behind him
"Did you see her? Who walks around New York in pajamas?" One said.
"Yeah. And those shorts? She's just asking for it isn't she?" The other replied.
"Don't think she had any mace in those little pockets do you?" The first girl replied as they both laughed.
Shit. Max shook his head. He was an indiot. Sure Kendra had ran here from the mansion, a girl in her pj's sprinting down the street would attract attention, but not the dangerous kind. A beautiful girl walking at a slow pace unattended in the city? Even during the day that wasn't a great idea.
Max should have walked her home and as he took off around the bus and crosses the street he felt a lump form in the pit of his stomach. She was probably fine, what was he going to do sprint after her and tell her he was afraid for her safety? He'd look like a loon. He could call but she had just left he'd look super desperate.
With a quick decision Max cut into an alley on the street. It was deserted and he pulled his hood up and zipped his hoodie up for safety. With a quick look to make sure the coast was clear he adjusted gravity on himself and flew up onto the roof of the building beside him. He could see the rooftops as he stood there and since he had lived at the mansion he knew how to get there.
Speed was priority. He lowered gravity on himself enough to let him go all out but not lose any time waiting to land from his jumps. He took off across the rooftop in a superhuman sprint and vaulted across the gap to the next building. He lept from rooftop to rooftop looking down onto the street below as he tried to think of the most likely path she would take.
