The X-men run missions and work together with the NYPD, striving to maintain a peaceful balance between humans and mutants. When it comes to a fight, they won't back down from protecting those who need their help.
Haven presents itself as a humanitarian organization for activists, leaders, and high society, yet mutants are the secret leaders working to protect and serve their kind. Behind the scenes they bring their goals into reality.
From the time when mutants became known to the world, SUPER was founded as a black-ops division of the CIA in an attempt to classify, observe, and learn more about this new and rising threat.
The Syndicate works to help bring mutantkind to the forefront of the world. They work from the shadows, a beacon of hope for mutants, but a bane to mankind. With their guiding hand, humanity will finally find extinction.
Since the existence of mutants was first revealed in the nineties, the world has become a changed place. Whether they're genetic misfits or the next stage in humanity's evolution, there's no denying their growing numbers, especially in hubs like New York City. The NYPD has a division devoted to mutant related crimes. Super-powered vigilantes help to maintain the peace. Those who style themselves as Homo Superior work to tear society apart for rebuilding in their own image.

Aura had known Mirror since she was a teen and before either then had kids. The world had changed a lot since then, for Aura it had grown muddled, and lacked the clear simplicity it had started out as. One thing that had not changed was Aura had never felt quite right in the Mansion, their was always a lingering sense the place was for far better souls then hers. With the death that followed her.
"Hello my Doubled friend. I.....no, i do not think i am, nor have i been for longer then i think i understand. " she said glancing down at her hands as she spoke. "The dead of of our brothers and sisters haunt my waking moments, the rest haunt my nightmares. The mystics made me butcher thirty seven of our kind, made me use my knowledge and training to extend the pain all for a show. Aura went on maintaining a calm in her voice her face and aura did not support. This wisps of aura not quite solid formed and faded with her at random points around her.
"The mystics control wiped the false memories clean. Everything i am, everything i have done, all i was tought, the lies of a woman who only wanted a weapon. I just kept clinging harder and harder to those teachings, they were all i knew even as evidence stacked against them. I just wanted a world, where our children would not worrey of being killed or having their birth right stolen with magic or be used as weapon devoid of understanding how to be more. I thought at the cost of my mind and soul i could save our people, it was all that ever truly mattered to me. Worse i thought those i called gods would simply asign the holy war to another, perhapse less suited to the role" Aura said wondering if she sounded half as mentally exhausted as she felt.
"I failed so badly, My actions brought super from the other world and now theses mages rise against us. I could not save the order and i could not save our people. I was just a weak willed person unable or unwilling to put herself before the holy war." she said said shifting her stance a put, her words making her uncomfortable. Aura was unused to being so open about wounds like these.
"I'm sorry my old friend, i should not dump my wounds on you" she said her aura a sign post of the chaos in her mind and of her worries. Aura stopped short of explaining her true reason for coming to the mansion, it was hard to put into words, harder then she thought it would be.
A bitter part of Aura wonderd where Remy had been five years ago or better ten. The woman could have saved her so much pain and grief. A simple command would of been all that was needed. She did not reply before she charged the group however, the topic of why was to big to get into in the middle of combat she decided or maybe she was just afraid of the answer. Working with her old mentor however was still natural feeling to her and brought her comfort and a strange bit of calmness. Part of her mind chastised herself just for doubting her old friend. It was somthing she would need to correct.
Less then a minute or two after they charged, they had cleared the blockade, Aura stabbed the ones still breathing in the heart or slashed their necks to make sure they would not follow or report what occurred, though she suspected most would have ceased living before that could happen anyway. "I was so scared back then, my oldest friend. I ran from the forest after i buried you all. i had lived the very thing we had been taught was sin. When i made to new york city i still thought the humans and mutants were at war. The more i learned Miracle might not have been honest with us the more i clung to the old ways of the woods. I never left the war, not truely until just a few years back. I came here to try and help sort the ruins of my mind and soul" she said with a sigh. It was strange confessing it like that to Remy.
She gathered her courage. "had i known you were still alive i never would have left the woods without you. I would have stayed by your side" she said trying to assure herself almost as much as she was remy. Maybe she would not have killed over 30 innocent mutants as a puppet of mystics, maybe she would of been e better person. A voice in her reminded her that would also have meant no Allison and no Alex either.
"Are you hurt?"{/color] she asked her eyes looking to the bullet holes. Their was something different she knew. "I can never refuse to help our people, im not sure i ever could. I am enjoying this vacation, I Have not fought like this since i became a mom" she said casually her mind not realizing that remy had no idea Aura was a mom.
Aura was in battle, one of the most brutal she had been in, matched against an opponent she simply could not find a weakness or plan of attack for. She did not know how to hurt or escape it, well that was not entirely true, a dark thought echoed in her mind. She shook it off and continued to weather the assault. She was the last of the Arua, nearly the last of the xel siun's followers, even if she had discarded the gods. She had been crafted for battle. Her aura was no match for the war in her own fragile mind. Revelations had come to the woman in quick hard kicks to her stomach. Aura had never been equipped to handle her emotions through much more then battle and combat planning.
She had come to see Gemma but had learned Gemma was out, she took a deep breath as a kid skirted by her even though the corridor was wide enough. She realized her Aura had been flickering with her emotions. She brought it almost under control, but it was hard. No matter how much sleep she seemed to get her mind stayed exhausted, the screams of the dead haunted her dreams. In the past it would of meant a need to fight to embrace the simpleness of combat and bathe in the adrenaline but it hardly brought relief now like it once had.
The disappearance of those she loved had not helped her dark moods. Fate seemed cruel, how much easier it would be, to go out in a blaze of combat and embrace the freedom of the end. Alison was gone however and Aura had to try for her but a part of her thought the kid might be vastly better off here then in her own care. Alex was why she was here, Alison would never have liked it but Mirror both of them were the closent blood relatives Alex had.
Her eyes looked haunted and her shoulder drooped as she looked down at her hands, she had just learned how to escape the war she was in and now fate seemed like it wanted her to do it all over again, with the Mystics, the thought of combat against skilled foes should have brought her joy. It all just felt pointless to her however, she slid down the wall and closed her eyes trying to steady her nerves, her failure broadcast in whisps pf thick angrily flashing aura into existence before fading away just as quickly. Their faces, the 37 mutants she had killed while mind controlled flowed through her mind. She resisted the urge to break things or slash at the wall with her aura. She had enough damaged furniture at home. her eyes opened and she rose to her feet when she heard footsteps approaching.
Aura's mind considered the three, considered the force that was with Aura and was pretty sure she knew how it would end, but no one asked her as the spell took tighter grip on her mind. Aura had not fought with this Lenna something both the controlled and resistant parts of her mind were happy enough to remedy, the difference was the end goal of that fight. None of them were prepared for the force blast that struck, for a second her mount and her moved back together, until the dog was stripped out from under her, forcing her to the ground, and stopping her self with an aura spike which ripped a two inch wide and foot deep gash in the floor, her ankle protested the abrupt stop but it was just pain, nothing broke, her aura weathered it. She spring forward knowing full well she was no match for the three of them, but she had to by time for the others to recover. Orders are orders, a distant part of her mind echoed.
Aura moved to close on Lenna, she needed to clear who she believed the weakest member of the three was, plus Lenna could be a shield against Cold steels and zek's powers, maybe. She knew to little about zek's powers to understand their limits and the zombie attack had not let her pay much attention to it in detail. Cold steel she viewed as the biggest threat of the three from over a decade of encounters. The battles for the golden doors and the battle at KP ran through her mind but their had been many. If she got close to Lenna it might restrict them. She brought her aura sword in a faint neck slash, following in an upper cut motion, hoping to impale under the ribs but not kill, the dead were worse meat shields.
One of the summoned hounds, Aura's former mount went sprawling back down the corridor, the other maintained it's footing, even as his rider was thrown back. even as he flew back his voice rose to that of a deep baritone oprah singer, and three shimmery dart sized objects of force made their way at the three invaders, then in falsetto he floated to the ground, but his pain was evident. His mount hit an open doorway and it's back leg snapped in a way that would have knocked out a real animal from pain, the summon however responded by breathing fire down the corridor, smart enough to aim at Cold steel and Zek.
Aura had largely figured out she had been used by Miracle and her faith had all but died. She had not been smited down when she had defied orders, or for surviving multiple leaders and then their were the magic people whom if the xel siun gods were to be believed would be Mutant kinds replacement. It was still very hard not to cut Remy in two for voicing such opinion though from sheer reflex. Aura tended to take most people saying such things easy but remy was different because she knew who the gods were and had sat for hours being lectured on sermons just as she had back in the woods.
The rest of their old friends being dead was a death blow to the flicker of hope Aura had built up in the few seconds since she brought it up. It was disappointing but at least she was no longer alone. She had found very few who had been in a remotely simmeler situation to the woods but Remy had been there, she had heard the same whistle of falling mortars and watched the same people die, she had felt Sayr's memory manipulation. Their was much that would need to wait for their victory and she could not deny she had many questions and things she wanted to know. Their were many things only remy could answer though the important things already had. Knowing remy was not tied to the old gods meant she was unlikely to try and kill her over that and helped confirm her current path.
"It took me a lot of bodies to figure out what Miracle had said was false and even more to realize it mattered, that I mattered. " she said hearing what kinda sounded like a siren wondering if this place even had cops."So far I like this vacation, good firefights, old friends an ambush.....So the classic, i trigger you cover?" she said reflexively looking back at remy for approval before recalling Remy was not in charge, no one really was other then her Syndicate employers. Aura stood up and began to run forward, thickening her aura in front in anticipation a she went, assuming those behind dead or unable to fire and confident her remaining aura would hold behind her. Remy had been right on the ambush, behind cars and up on balcony's a dozen men she could see aimed forming a killbox that would have made the humans from the woods proud. It would be a strain but she would not lose remy again.
These guys clearly knew how to handle their guns better as well then the last dozen they had killed. The plaza exploded in bullet the breaking glass as bullets deflected from her aura, she winced as a few found true purchase even as she dove through the window of the car, shattering its driver side window and her momentum carried her onto the passenger side window her waist falling on the door. The shocked gunmen re-aimed their rifles but Aura swung her blades and cut both men in half at the waist. She rolled out of the car and a man to close to shoot tried to punch her, Aura took the man's hand flipped him over her shoulder and drove a quickly formed foot blade down into his stomach and pressed herse;f against the car still feeling a few bullets make it thrue.
Aura liked the zoo, even if she had agreed with her dad that she would stop raiding the place for food. In truth she had not really understood the concept of a zoo or that their were animals that most people did not eat.. She quite enjoyed the expression on the Mansion Null's face when she had told her about eating cats and dogs off the street. She needed to talk with the null, as much as she tried to hide it, her mental scars were adding up and with the false memories burned away. Their was still nothing before the day she had gotten her powers, but she now knew her parents were scared to be separated from her, she knew just how many times, Miracle had beat her and shaped hed her. It was still hard for Aura to consider a superior in a poor light. The months long torture and her old friend rising from the dead had not helped Aura's mentality.
Aura heard a scream and looked up from the railing she had been watching a goat from, wondering the best way to cook it and if its horns could function a skewers. Aura saw lion,s one of which had pounced a woman and Aura knew before she began to move the woman was dead. Her own Aura surrounded her ina moment and with a quick hand gesture she used the blasphemes thing she had been taught, her Aura turned a light blue, like her alternate earth counterpart. Her movement attracted the Lion's attention as well, each she noticed with strange glowing green eyes and far faster then her. Aura made it a few steps before, four hundred pounds of lion pounced on her and brought her to the ground and her jaw went for the back of Aura's neck. Aura grew a spike from the back of her neck and impaled the lion with it, a blind flail kept another lion away from her arm. She slipped out from under the lion and look at the remaining four and why they had backed off. She felt the ground shake in time to turn and grab the rhino horn as the creature slammed into her in' it's charge, she had avoided the horn but she felt several slings smash into her aura and realized as she managed to roll aside the charge, the rhino had pushed her through two wooden walls of a concession stand.
She looked around and realized the entire zoo was like this, someone had freed the animals and somehow made them attack people. She smiled recalling how she had got her old pet skunk like this, it might have even been the same people. Aura parried another lion, knocking it aside but only able to hit it with the flat of her blade as she cut thrue the flank of the large male. Only to feel a huge weight drive the wind from her lungs as a silber back gorilla landed on her from a tree. Her aura held but barely and somehow the brute managed to dodge her first blade pulling back his head, but much like the lion had learned being on Aura was dangerous, she Let her blades fade and created a trio of spike she grew and slammed into the ape on top of her as it pulled back it's fist, shocking it, Aura made the blade fade and grew three more at differing angles, four more times and Aura extracted herself from the ape, and redeployed her swords as she began to run to get out from under the tree's
Aura found the source of the screaming as a little kid, covered in blood looked down at a panther. Aura split the problem down the middle skidding to s top, in it;s blood before turning and swimming down some small ape Aura could not identify. Taking a breath Aura asked how the kid was doing, but the good was in far to much shock to say uch louder then a whisper. Then the ground was shaking again, someone had released the hungry hippo's. She wiped her nose and saw blood on her aura. She knew she had to avoid a second round of that.
The mantis girl never reported back in and that made him nervous. he made a few calls and hit a button to the higher paid booths, that their might be a breach. Whoever it was or whatever needed to be stopped at least long enough for the richer people to get away, once confirmed he would signal the rest to go, but their was no need to lose more money on this if no one learned of it. His bosses would be ad if he lost them to much money over somthing they could get under control.
Aura stood redeploying her standard swords and only glanced at the bruise colored dogs made from magic appeared around her, both looking heavier then Aura, who promptly climbed on one and directed it forward. In truth their was little her handelers needed to instruct her on as search and destroy missions were drilled into the woman's soul. Still a handeler climbed atop the other dog like creature and took the lead as they rode down the hallways as fast as their mounts would take them. Aura never said a word, but followed each order immediately and without word, her aura still purple as she had not yet been given the command to drop the miner spell.
Mentally Aura was enraged. The girls memory haunted her mind as they all would. She could do little to resist the control she knew or reverse what she had done. But she could recall their faces and their powers as she did for each mutant she had killed. Aura saw it as a way to repent and a way to remind her of the damage she had done herself. It was funny the faces of those she saved tended to all blur together. They came around the courner ready to attack if needed or look what happened to the other guards and the mutant. Tbhe magic dogs nails, emitted loud shreiks as they dragged across the floor.
Aura's mind grasped on what Remy being alive, if indeed her mind had not broken again, meant in the grand scme of things. If remy was not dead were the others? Had the last decade or so all been but a creation of Sayre? If so what about Alison, Alex, Abyss, Amber and Syn? Had her family been but a tool to shape her? And those who had cared for her, Lisa, Lori, Meld, The Mansions's null and the Snowman, Lenna, had they do just been a well made story? Did it mean the screaming and dyeing faces of those she failed to save would give her peace? Aura had no answers but weather it was reality or not she knew she was a better person becuse of them. Miracle had seen them all as tools, weapons and had convinced Aura she was like the blades she made. The people she had met after saw her as a person or as a monster which were better. Aura felt a pressure on her mind like someone thrusting a spear into into it.
Her mind and panic abated enough when Remy highlighted and gestured for her to follow. Aura took up a flanking spot six feet from Remy. She had not used it in a very long time but it felt natural to Aura as the day it been been rammed into her. She needed to focus and not panic, save the Mutants, her mind could crack in half later. "I recall when we used to eat humans in the woods, i never did like the flavor. So we wipe the gang out and feed them to the Lord of Souls. " She said invoking the title of the death god of their former shared religion.
"If your alive old friend, does that mean the others...." her voice trembled as she asked. She needed to know even if no matter the answer she would not enjoy it.
Aura was confused and the torrent of emotions sweeping trhrue her. At least it sounded like they were going to be fighting soon, she really needed another good brawl to really focus her mind and calm her nerves. These gang members sounded like perfect scratching tools for a dance. Aura had been trained to focus emotional excess into combat real or training, it had been a way to make the children practice even more. Her Aura stayed solid around her but it still rippled and the wisps pf pink aura seemed more numerous now.
Out of the corner of her eye Aura saw the glint of a gun and ran straight at it, the man got just two shots off before Aura first swing cut through the man, glancing off the spine, aura pulled the blade up, her blade exited skull , while her other blade had swept low taking the right knee from the body. Unneeded and excessive yes and it was abnormal for her more these days. She spun and swept her blade down slicing the man's head in two. She felt a few pullets pink off her aura as she was exposed.
Aura leapt up and drove an aura blade into the brick, piercing through it without meaning to but it was enough and let her press a second blade into the softer mortar. The idiots would eventually get brave and come closer or level the building if they could. Experience taught her she could have taken the rest as well but she had no idea how many she was up against or even what their objective was and that it was better to scout and learn the enamies positions before charging blindly. Her aura could soak up a limited amount of damage.
She glanced over the roof when she heard an explosion, but it took her a second to notice the flaming truck and and the burning corpses, the smoke and heat having stolen their voices and the gunfire at the building stopped moments after. Aura ducked back down and considered the mostly very bad signs that could mean. Her eyes scanned the sky looking for helicopters or planes, her ears hearing a few rpg's like what she assumed hit the truck. Was this some sort of gang war?
Then a voice pierced the light of the day and buildings began to waver into trees, the scent of cooking food shifted to berries and honey, it took a moment to convince her doubtful mind the forest was long ago, to force the trees back into buildings and regretfully the scent of honey faded as well. Did these people some how figure out who she was? Not exactly hard she knew once she used her power. But even then how could then in under five minutes have identified the voice of the person she had been trapped with in the woods, under the barricks wall holding the shredded remains of her at the time best friend. Which really was just who Aura liked and was alive the longest.
Aura stood and spotted the lone figure and leapt from the second story building landing on a bullet ridden car's roof, denting it. She aimed the pink blade at the familiar figure, she would of looked like a fierce solider if it was not for the tears that began to stream from her eyes and wisps of her aura that appeared and faded in thin crescent shaped and faded quickly, sorrow and rage fighting within her as a woman she knew was quite dead stood before her.
"The last of the Arua stands....old friend" she said even her Aura blade rippled from the torrent of emotion tearing through Aura's ill prepared mind. If remy was alive then did her syndicate ties still matter? had her order ties? She could figure all that out after they escaped this though. "I'f you are just my imagination old friend, i'm not sure i desire reality again. Perhaps however we should move, the locals seem agitated for some reason" she said with a shrug to the bodies littering the streets and the flaming jeep. Aura was unsure if remy was real but she was sure everything else was and her returns to the past were always all or nothing, never single people or objects.
Despite what she told people, her imprisonment had hurt her. Her mind burned with impotent rage and razer edged self incrimination. She had been captured, failed to prevent it. Her failure had cost 22 other mutants their lifes. Her being mind controlled was simply an excuse, a way to make her feel better. Their had also been, the orders fall and the decimation in the woods, one of which she was directly to blame and in both had failed by living through their fall. Even worse her failures had been so complete the Humans had formed Super. Mystics were the scaryist of all, Aura would not admit it but even before her capture they had frightened her. It meant nature had judges Mutants a failure, that they like humanity were on the slate for destruction.
She had told her bosses she was going to look for her sister, but in truth her focus had slipped, it was hard to keep her aura down in the mental maelstrom within Aura's mind. Aura needed to blow off steam in a way New York city had not seen her to in well over half a decade. Aura had picked the area for that reason in particular, Mogadishu Somalia. She had never heard of the place but had been assured it was perfect for her need. She also had no idea that a local group of pirates and mutant sacrificing cult members were in the town in force to get their new stock.
They had been right, hours after landing the the attack began. The rogue shot of the rifle deflected off her aura and buried itself in a crate. She had barely turned when she swatted something small and round from the air, which exploded between the thrower and Aura still in the air, Air was pushed back by the blast but her aura weathered it, the thrower never had time to scream. Aura charged feeling the withering of ak 47 bullets on her aura, still few expected a lone woman to charge. The short sword extending from her right hand took a head from shoulders and a bling swing with the other left a two inch deep gash across his stomach. The third got three shots off, before a downward slash cleaved him in two.
Aura ducked behind a car, using her aura to pull one of the men closer with a spiked crowbar, even as bullets struck the screaming man body and the truck. she stole his grenades and considered his gun, shaking her head, she took it and the ammo, she tossed one over the far side of the truck catching a man in the face before exploding. Aura charged out from behind the truck just as something familiar whisked by her shoulder and the truck exploded behind her, the blast throwing her at her attackers, landing on the first of the eight men's stomach, forcing him to the ground with a quickly formed foot blade. The next man yelled Dhegdheer, as Aura tore her foot spike out of her landing pad and disemboweled the man, the rest tried to back away to get a clear firing solution, but Aura bisected the third man from shoulder to hip and forming a drill with the other hand, uppercutted the next man's chin with a drill. The other four broke and ran, but a bullet deflecting off her Aura and a quick scan, showed aura while she had been having her fun, others were trying to make sturdier defenses and better positions.
They were human yes, but they knew combat and they had no idea the Dhegdheer as they called her was having the time of her life, almost fighting to keep her pure, undiluted joy from her movements in combat, as an explosion tore a hole in the first street less the thirty feet away from her. It never occurred to Aura that joy might wring hollow after. "You honor me, my fun loving friends, you know how to greet a woman." she said even as she rolled behind a brick building, shielding herself from a morter, that shattered windows. She peeked out and fired a few shots from the stolen rifle striking one of the retreating four men, in the lower back four times.
Aura's experience began to show as the girl tried to keep Aura from contacting her core piece. She worked her way through the shimmery silvery tendrils, not at all understanding the poisousness nature of the element the girl was made of but her Aura guarding her skin the same. She moved under one tendrils and cut through another with a blade then plunged her aura coverd hands into the girl.
She could feel the tendrils pounding on her Aura as she searched and even though she could have broken Aura's aura in time, Aura was not going to give it to her. Aura ripped her hands out of the girls chest, a ball of her aura dripping with silverd mercury and a small purple orb within. She reducedher aura upon command untill the ball strained against her Aura before cracking in half.
Once the orb broke the girl's fell to the ground a puddle of silver and a purple dust sparkling i it as Aura let the orb dissopear. Internally Aura screamed and the crowd did the same. Both knew Aura had executed the girl. Part of Aura mind, wondered if she deserved this for her failure to protect her people, for outliving tbhose she had served and from doubting her code.
Aura turned and moved back to the gate to be processed on secured before being returned to the cells, her aura switched off like a light as handelers came close.
The security room wondered of Celry team was not off drinking again but a number of camera's had also started to not function as well Well he waited for a reply from the last room he paged, he brought up a list of security agents and paged them, asking them to look for Celery team and check the camera's that had stopped working. Derek was hoping it was his imagination but he was starting to worry about the strange things going on. He held of on souncding an actual alarm yet both for fear if he was wrong and because he did not wish to panic the very well paying patrons eho valued their safely and privacy.
A minute after they left the room a praying mantin looking woman came up from the dungeon her mandibles clocking and control tiara a bright red, she moved down the hallway as a guard. Derek rather enjoyed puppeting them and it took little magic to tap into and send commands. The mantis girl, a captured mutant had been used in the role before. her speed and the sharp edges of her arms let her control many of the others if and hen they did get out of hand.
He paged Joe one more time then directed the mantis girl to the room to check. It was possible Joe was just out but with no responce from the other team he grew more worried.
Aura watched as her opponent's skin began to harden and expand. The girl shot up over three times Aura's height and her skin turned a bright silvery white and the reflective substance shined in the lights and seemed to run at times only to be absorbed back into the body. Aura could see a distorted image of herself on the other girl.
Aura fell back in caution, circling her opponent she made a few feints trying to draw the other woman in. The fourth such attempt worked, and Aura return swing bisected the body despite the drag she felt. The Other girl hardly noticed her body reforming right after the blade and even as Aura's blade exited she was struck in the chest and was thrown back from the blow, her aura barely holding the blow. She thickened her aura and let her blade fade away a drill appearing in its place. She dodged the next blow seeing drops of the silvery white substance land around the impact only to slowly move back to their master rejoining the mass.
Her net swing, Aura met with her drill, sending the droplets everywhere and Aura sank the drill to the other girls elbow but the other woman smiled as her split arm wrapped around Aura like rope, trying to draw her in, to smother her within her own body, Aura let her drill fade and replaced it with hammers over her fists striking the substance and flinging portions away from her, hoping to reduces the other girl's mass enough, it worked only when Aura struck the other girls head, which stayed solid and forced the girl back breaking her hold and taking greedy breaths as she did. Aura smiled and used a quick series of hand motions, her Aura flared purple from the light spell cast on her Aura. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
The security guard chief watching the camera's sent a call to have a camera that had gone out checked. Paranoid He assumed but when dealing with super powered live stock with friends outside the farm you stayed alive by being paranoid. Most likely a mere camera malfunction in his opinion. If not he had some pretty cool magic he could try out he joked to himself.
The building itself was built in a circular fashion, offices on the outside, concessions and bathrooms one ring closer, two stair cases spiraled off into the dark basement where pained moans emanated from the dungeon. The second floor however were the offices, the outer of which had a view outside and the inner set's offering VIP seating. A squeaky cart rolled past the room labored with samples from a dozen foods. A few of the more important rooms had a guard outside them. One room at the end of the curved wall was guarded by six guards, a private betting room.
Rena took a deep breath. She was a violent woman by nature and this idiot was spoiling for violence. She had already considered half a dozen ways to end the man's life and more to make him wish she had. She pushed the thoughts aside and allowed herself to be sated by mere thought. Killing him would gain her nothing and just cuase issues with her employers. The sound of breaking glass made her head snap back around before she realized what it was and kept her aura down.
She offered a small smile. "Of that i have I doubt My large friend. Your own stuff is likely a sturdier make. I normally use my own myself." she said only refraining from demonstrating for the sake of keeping things calm and friendly. Her power was very recognizable and their was no good to be done killing random idiots like the drunk little man. Still after hearing the thirds comment Aura's pride was peeked. "Thirds huh? Makes me wonder how many times one could fold a .... Aura trailed off and glanced down at her drink and frowned.
"I understand not drinking on the job. Dulling ones senses when combat could arise is always a poor plan. I rarely partake myself, to easy to lose control" she said holding up her water. She ignored the drunks frequent glances at her, between the two men and her own skill she knew how horribly outmatched the man was. She hoped he would take Telemachus's advice. Despite not knowing if he was human or not Aura found herself liking the two men around her so far.
Maybe booze would somehow blind her to the faces and the eyes of the mutants she had been forced to slay on the island, she blamed herself as she always did. Like she had for the forest and both incarnations of the order. She decided against it again, she had to bear that pain to atone.
Aura had been wandering the past few months, she felt lost and while she would not admit the extent of the damage to her memory, she knew it was bad. She had not told anyone yet, though Gemma had interviewed her out of concern. She had been told to try new things to deal with her free time, a concept that Aura still had trouble with.
It was how she had found herself at a strip club, ordering water on the rocks to a very confused waitress who none the less delivered what was asked for and was even more perplexed when the women did not complain. She barely looked at the dancers, instead looking into her drink, tipping well.
Her brown hair bounced slightly as she looked at the idiotic next to her trying to pick a fight with a guy large enough to devour her whole. The backed dress showing off a network of nasty looking scars from what had been magic runes. She was about to blindly make things worse when a a man came and advised the man to watch the show, trying to head of the fight.
"They are quite beautiful" she offered from a table. "Mohawk's right, Enjoy the show Little man and don't pick fights with men who could break you in half" she said glancing at the Bouncer who had told the man off and then to Hercules. Aura was a bit on edge from the past few months "What are you boy's drinking?" Aura asked looking at Telemmachus and Herules. Aura had drank a mere handful of times in her life and so was curious for their thoughts.
Patrols in pairs, lazily walked about the island, the demeanor of professionals who had gone to long without something to do. Not once did they look up each armed with a rifle and a few with mystic powers. They mever even noticed the man with the bounce house, the brown haired girl or the ice man. The taller of the two, an Irishman grabbed his radio.
"All clear, in sector 3" he said setting it back on his belt, his partner glancing back at the stadium. He clearly wished to be tracking his bets. They then began moving, their patrol preset. "Just a few minutes and we can get lunch" He said to his friend.
---------------------
Aura watched wordlessly as the creature roared, almost shaking the stadium, packed with hundreds of rich, illicit betters. The thirty foot tall Summoned Tyrannosaur, ate the distance between them quickly, its strides measured in yards.
Aura easily dodged the half foot teeth, her own own blow drew a shallow cut as Aura was thrown back by the weight of the head despite not being bitten. She landed on her feet, her back touching the wall just a second before she charged the Dinosaur that had not missed a beat.
This time Aura leaped onto the Rex's head as it bent to bite her, aura sword plunged down into it's snout. Summon or not the creature seemed to feel pain and began to thrash, she formed a blade on her foot to attempt a better drip, but her sword ripped free and Aura struck the wall, the stone cracking at the impact. Dazed and stuck fifteen feet above the ground in the wall, the Dinosaur was able to grab her and bit down with it's teeth.
Aura could feel her Aura starting to give under the sheer force of it's bite. Calmly and wordlessly, her sword in the mouth of the beast flowed back to her elbow and into a chainsaw, bringing her elbow back she struck the gum of the monster, quickly tearing down to the bone as the chainsaw moved in a half circle as her defensive aura began to crack, Aura worked to sever the lower jaw of the dinosaur as quickly as she could, but the chainsaw was draining and harder to keep formed.
Then the pressure was gone as she got through enough of the jaw to almost completely separate it from the monster and Aura felt her back strike the cold ground moments later., only her aura, preventing the fall being fatel. as it was blood ran from the side of her head in drops as she stood as commanded watching as a very young mutant walked into the the Arena, maybe fifteen. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
The facility would have pairs of guards at each entrance, looking a bit more attentive then those patrolling, their were some camera;s as well on the building though they were not at all hidden. each entrance also had a few summoned dog like creatures, their moulths masses of tenticels.
