The X-men run missions and work together with the NYPD, striving to maintain a peaceful balance between humans and mutants. When it comes to a fight, they won't back down from protecting those who need their help.
Haven presents itself as a humanitarian organization for activists, leaders, and high society, yet mutants are the secret leaders working to protect and serve their kind. Behind the scenes they bring their goals into reality.
From the time when mutants became known to the world, SUPER was founded as a black-ops division of the CIA in an attempt to classify, observe, and learn more about this new and rising threat.
The Syndicate works to help bring mutantkind to the forefront of the world. They work from the shadows, a beacon of hope for mutants, but a bane to mankind. With their guiding hand, humanity will finally find extinction.
Since the existence of mutants was first revealed in the nineties, the world has become a changed place. Whether they're genetic misfits or the next stage in humanity's evolution, there's no denying their growing numbers, especially in hubs like New York City. The NYPD has a division devoted to mutant related crimes. Super-powered vigilantes help to maintain the peace. Those who style themselves as Homo Superior work to tear society apart for rebuilding in their own image.

Despite what she told people, her imprisonment had hurt her. Her mind burned with impotent rage and razer edged self incrimination. She had been captured, failed to prevent it. Her failure had cost 22 other mutants their lifes. Her being mind controlled was simply an excuse, a way to make her feel better. Their had also been, the orders fall and the decimation in the woods, one of which she was directly to blame and in both had failed by living through their fall. Even worse her failures had been so complete the Humans had formed Super. Mystics were the scaryist of all, Aura would not admit it but even before her capture they had frightened her. It meant nature had judges Mutants a failure, that they like humanity were on the slate for destruction.
She had told her bosses she was going to look for her sister, but in truth her focus had slipped, it was hard to keep her aura down in the mental maelstrom within Aura's mind. Aura needed to blow off steam in a way New York city had not seen her to in well over half a decade. Aura had picked the area for that reason in particular, Mogadishu Somalia. She had never heard of the place but had been assured it was perfect for her need. She also had no idea that a local group of pirates and mutant sacrificing cult members were in the town in force to get their new stock.
They had been right, hours after landing the the attack began. The rogue shot of the rifle deflected off her aura and buried itself in a crate. She had barely turned when she swatted something small and round from the air, which exploded between the thrower and Aura still in the air, Air was pushed back by the blast but her aura weathered it, the thrower never had time to scream. Aura charged feeling the withering of ak 47 bullets on her aura, still few expected a lone woman to charge. The short sword extending from her right hand took a head from shoulders and a bling swing with the other left a two inch deep gash across his stomach. The third got three shots off, before a downward slash cleaved him in two.
Aura ducked behind a car, using her aura to pull one of the men closer with a spiked crowbar, even as bullets struck the screaming man body and the truck. she stole his grenades and considered his gun, shaking her head, she took it and the ammo, she tossed one over the far side of the truck catching a man in the face before exploding. Aura charged out from behind the truck just as something familiar whisked by her shoulder and the truck exploded behind her, the blast throwing her at her attackers, landing on the first of the eight men's stomach, forcing him to the ground with a quickly formed foot blade. The next man yelled Dhegdheer, as Aura tore her foot spike out of her landing pad and disemboweled the man, the rest tried to back away to get a clear firing solution, but Aura bisected the third man from shoulder to hip and forming a drill with the other hand, uppercutted the next man's chin with a drill. The other four broke and ran, but a bullet deflecting off her Aura and a quick scan, showed aura while she had been having her fun, others were trying to make sturdier defenses and better positions.
They were human yes, but they knew combat and they had no idea the Dhegdheer as they called her was having the time of her life, almost fighting to keep her pure, undiluted joy from her movements in combat, as an explosion tore a hole in the first street less the thirty feet away from her. It never occurred to Aura that joy might wring hollow after. "You honor me, my fun loving friends, you know how to greet a woman." she said even as she rolled behind a brick building, shielding herself from a morter, that shattered windows. She peeked out and fired a few shots from the stolen rifle striking one of the retreating four men, in the lower back four times.

When ones life was essentially one long stretch of hunting down the worst the fleshy bipedals that were to offer on the planet Earth it was hard to get excited about any sort of cause or movement. Being dead certainly didn't help matters either. Her admitted biggest threats in life were boredom and poverty. The unspoken threats were harder to pin down, loneliness most likely if she bothered to be introspective enough to try and figure it out. So in search of excitement and money she ended up taking a job in Africa.
Personally she thought Africa was a beautiful place and a wonderful country. Like anywhere though certain groups just seemed too want to fuck everything up for everyone else instead of stopping to smell.. whatever flowering plants existed in Africa. Take a swim at the beach. Instead you got warlords, dictators and religious zealots mucking everything up. When one had rats, you called the exterminator.
One of her mercenary contacts got in touch with her which was pretty impressive given how much she lost her phone. Des said something about being able to use the same phone number for different phones so she left all the techno babble nonsense to him. One of the few people of means in Somalia had lost a child. In all non first world countries a lack of contact after more then a week probably meant dead or in hiding. Before she knew it she had a plane ticket and a promising paycheck for a search and destroy mission. It gave her a chance to get out of the house and smuggle back some choicer pieces of hardware back to the states.
It would probably cause Des no end of surprise that despite her usual dress of daisy dukes and a tank top she did dress for the occasion. Fitted in some multi terrain bdu's and a combat vest with plenty of magazines and an assortment of guns and she was ready to party. Much to her surprise someone had started the party without her if the staccato of gunfire was any indication. Then a distinct krumpt of a mortar. She did a little shiver at the sound then ran in that direction. The sound of her gear slapping against her body drowned out by the usual sounds of warfare. The inhabitants sadly not unused to the sounds, still fleeing away from the area impeded her progress a bit.
Hearing another fwump she shouldered through a door into a taller building that overlooked the area. Bursting onto the rooftop and paused a moment to let her eyes adjust to the light while two men stared at her from the wrong side of the sandbags. She slipped one of her pistols out of her leg harness as the men scrambled for their ak's. She sent them both to their perspective gods with a single shot to the head a piece. "Still got it." Tucking the still smoking gun back away. "Well don't mind if I do~"
Hefting up an RPG onto her shoulder and kneeling behind the sandbags. Taking a moment to sight in the gun on the mortar on a different rooftop with a pleased hum. The projectile arcing gracefully over the buildings to drop into the sandbags just short of the mortar.
Grinning to herself as the mortar went up with a flash and several secondary explosions even as it tumbled into the building. "Using mortars like that in a place like this is terribly irresponsible you know." Talking to no-one in particular. A habit she got into from many years working alone. "It would be a shame to just waste it." Picking up the last RPG and loading it into the launcher. Leaning out over the street she was about to fire on the cluster of people shooting at a brick building, pivoting her shot to fire at a jeep filled with some pissed off looking people and a big gun mounted on the back. It plonked into the engine block and flipped it over in a fiery explosion as the gas tank went as well. The few who survived the meaningless seconds in between crushed as the truck a landed on top of them.
She tossed the launcher over the side of the roof casually and ducked down as she took fire from a pair of remaining people. "Well someone's pissy!" Laughing a bit as she grabbed a dead guys AK regardless of the two larger guns over her shoulders. "Waste not want not my momma always said on leftover night." Leaning over the building again to fire into the men on fully automatic, once it clicked dry loading another magazine and continuing to fire. Nothing being quite as cathartic as opening up a gun on full auto on someone else's dime. The current group of baddies dead she dropped the gun and moved down the stairs and into the street. "Shit who the hell uses a sword these days?" Spotting a few of the more grisly looking bodies. "Anyone still alive around here!?" Calling out to whomever her potential ally might be. The people had been shooting at someone.. if they weren't already dead.
Aura leapt up and drove an aura blade into the brick, piercing through it without meaning to but it was enough and let her press a second blade into the softer mortar. The idiots would eventually get brave and come closer or level the building if they could. Experience taught her she could have taken the rest as well but she had no idea how many she was up against or even what their objective was and that it was better to scout and learn the enamies positions before charging blindly. Her aura could soak up a limited amount of damage.
She glanced over the roof when she heard an explosion, but it took her a second to notice the flaming truck and and the burning corpses, the smoke and heat having stolen their voices and the gunfire at the building stopped moments after. Aura ducked back down and considered the mostly very bad signs that could mean. Her eyes scanned the sky looking for helicopters or planes, her ears hearing a few rpg's like what she assumed hit the truck. Was this some sort of gang war?
Then a voice pierced the light of the day and buildings began to waver into trees, the scent of cooking food shifted to berries and honey, it took a moment to convince her doubtful mind the forest was long ago, to force the trees back into buildings and regretfully the scent of honey faded as well. Did these people some how figure out who she was? Not exactly hard she knew once she used her power. But even then how could then in under five minutes have identified the voice of the person she had been trapped with in the woods, under the barricks wall holding the shredded remains of her at the time best friend. Which really was just who Aura liked and was alive the longest.
Aura stood and spotted the lone figure and leapt from the second story building landing on a bullet ridden car's roof, denting it. She aimed the pink blade at the familiar figure, she would of looked like a fierce solider if it was not for the tears that began to stream from her eyes and wisps of her aura that appeared and faded in thin crescent shaped and faded quickly, sorrow and rage fighting within her as a woman she knew was quite dead stood before her.
"The last of the Arua stands....old friend" she said even her Aura blade rippled from the torrent of emotion tearing through Aura's ill prepared mind. If remy was alive then did her syndicate ties still matter? had her order ties? She could figure all that out after they escaped this though. "I'f you are just my imagination old friend, i'm not sure i desire reality again. Perhaps however we should move, the locals seem agitated for some reason" she said with a shrug to the bodies littering the streets and the flaming jeep. Aura was unsure if remy was real but she was sure everything else was and her returns to the past were always all or nothing, never single people or objects.

Remy was surveying the carnage and looking for any potential survivors when Aura landed on the nearby car roof. Hearing the crash she whirled with her pistol coming out of the holster, pausing as.. whoever the hell it was aimed a very familiar power that she hadn't run into before. If meeting Aura in Africa didn't throw her off the tears certainly did. Slowly she slid her pistol back into its holster and tilted her head down to look over her sunglasses, eyes faintly glowing a soft orangish red.
"I am not sufficiently nicotined up for this shit." Pulling out a cigarette and lighting it up with a zippo and taking a long draw off of it. "Eh, local gangs looking to salvage the weapons before the cops move in." That was certainly easier to say then processing the sheer incalculably small probability of this whole occurrence. Fate was a bastard with a sense of humor all right. Aura also thought of her as a friend. This was going to be a weird ass day, she just knew it.
"Shoulda figured it was you. Always were messy when it came to kills." Gesturing for Aura to follow her towards where the various vehicles had come from. "Got a job to do and the only way to keep clean in a shit hurricane is to stay right in the middle. Seems some of the darker aspects of religion are making sacrifices of mutants and eating them in the belief it makes them stronger somehow." One of the highlights of being dead was she wasn't particular worried about if Aura stabbed her. It would just mean a slight delay in accomplishing her goals. Whoever was taken was probably already dead anyway so it didn't matter much to her.
"Well, uh, kiddo you certainly got big." Small talk had never been a strong suit of hers. The rest of the cigarette burnt down to ash and she flicked the butt into the burning truck.
Aura's mind grasped on what Remy being alive, if indeed her mind had not broken again, meant in the grand scme of things. If remy was not dead were the others? Had the last decade or so all been but a creation of Sayre? If so what about Alison, Alex, Abyss, Amber and Syn? Had her family been but a tool to shape her? And those who had cared for her, Lisa, Lori, Meld, The Mansions's null and the Snowman, Lenna, had they do just been a well made story? Did it mean the screaming and dyeing faces of those she failed to save would give her peace? Aura had no answers but weather it was reality or not she knew she was a better person becuse of them. Miracle had seen them all as tools, weapons and had convinced Aura she was like the blades she made. The people she had met after saw her as a person or as a monster which were better. Aura felt a pressure on her mind like someone thrusting a spear into into it.
Her mind and panic abated enough when Remy highlighted and gestured for her to follow. Aura took up a flanking spot six feet from Remy. She had not used it in a very long time but it felt natural to Aura as the day it been been rammed into her. She needed to focus and not panic, save the Mutants, her mind could crack in half later. "I recall when we used to eat humans in the woods, i never did like the flavor. So we wipe the gang out and feed them to the Lord of Souls. " She said invoking the title of the death god of their former shared religion.
"If your alive old friend, does that mean the others...." her voice trembled as she asked. She needed to know even if no matter the answer she would not enjoy it.
Aura was confused and the torrent of emotions sweeping trhrue her. At least it sounded like they were going to be fighting soon, she really needed another good brawl to really focus her mind and calm her nerves. These gang members sounded like perfect scratching tools for a dance. Aura had been trained to focus emotional excess into combat real or training, it had been a way to make the children practice even more. Her Aura stayed solid around her but it still rippled and the wisps pf pink aura seemed more numerous now.
Out of the corner of her eye Aura saw the glint of a gun and ran straight at it, the man got just two shots off before Aura first swing cut through the man, glancing off the spine, aura pulled the blade up, her blade exited skull , while her other blade had swept low taking the right knee from the body. Unneeded and excessive yes and it was abnormal for her more these days. She spun and swept her blade down slicing the man's head in two. She felt a few pullets pink off her aura as she was exposed.

Like so many things Remy was ignorant of Aura's inner turmoil. For the most of humanity she was a casual observer and if she was honest with herself Aura was simply a anomaly of interest on another otherwise straightforward day. Feelings were for the living, at least she liked to tell herself that. Being around Des was.. trying her undead fortitude in a multitude of areas. It was actually a bit of a vacation to return to the familiar circumstance of being paid to kill.
"Well those crazy a**holes in charge had lots of weird ideas kid. Kind of like their religion." At the final bit shooting a direct look at Aura as if to say 'you still believe in that crap?'
Then Aura had to go straight to the meaty questions and Remy inhaled so she could force out a bark of a laugh. "Sorry hun, I am not even alive so to speak. Far as I ever knew you were the only one who made it out alive." Not that she thought that was a bad thing. Being brainwashed was a long process to undo. Even for the dead. "If you want to get all emotional and questioning, I suggest you save it for after we deal with these bastards."
Watching Aura charge off to deal with one of their current assailants she unslung the assault rifle from her shoulder and fired at some men attempting to move into position from the second story, adding her own gunfire to the general swirl of chaos. Hastily moving to take cover behind a car and trading shots with the armed gang members with a grin on her face. A lucky ricochet or bit of shrapnel took a bit of the side of her neck out, oozing her typical black blood for a moment.
Reaching into her medkit she pulled out some duct tape and slapped some over it to conceal the wound before raising up to finish off the shooters as she moved closer towards Aura. "What a lovely day for a firefight. I think we have killed most of the stupid ones, so I'd be expecting an ambush."
Not that Aura had much cause to worry with her damnable forcefield.
Aura had largely figured out she had been used by Miracle and her faith had all but died. She had not been smited down when she had defied orders, or for surviving multiple leaders and then their were the magic people whom if the xel siun gods were to be believed would be Mutant kinds replacement. It was still very hard not to cut Remy in two for voicing such opinion though from sheer reflex. Aura tended to take most people saying such things easy but remy was different because she knew who the gods were and had sat for hours being lectured on sermons just as she had back in the woods.
The rest of their old friends being dead was a death blow to the flicker of hope Aura had built up in the few seconds since she brought it up. It was disappointing but at least she was no longer alone. She had found very few who had been in a remotely simmeler situation to the woods but Remy had been there, she had heard the same whistle of falling mortars and watched the same people die, she had felt Sayr's memory manipulation. Their was much that would need to wait for their victory and she could not deny she had many questions and things she wanted to know. Their were many things only remy could answer though the important things already had. Knowing remy was not tied to the old gods meant she was unlikely to try and kill her over that and helped confirm her current path.
"It took me a lot of bodies to figure out what Miracle had said was false and even more to realize it mattered, that I mattered. " she said hearing what kinda sounded like a siren wondering if this place even had cops."So far I like this vacation, good firefights, old friends an ambush.....So the classic, i trigger you cover?" she said reflexively looking back at remy for approval before recalling Remy was not in charge, no one really was other then her Syndicate employers. Aura stood up and began to run forward, thickening her aura in front in anticipation a she went, assuming those behind dead or unable to fire and confident her remaining aura would hold behind her. Remy had been right on the ambush, behind cars and up on balcony's a dozen men she could see aimed forming a killbox that would have made the humans from the woods proud. It would be a strain but she would not lose remy again.
These guys clearly knew how to handle their guns better as well then the last dozen they had killed. The plaza exploded in bullet the breaking glass as bullets deflected from her aura, she winced as a few found true purchase even as she dove through the window of the car, shattering its driver side window and her momentum carried her onto the passenger side window her waist falling on the door. The shocked gunmen re-aimed their rifles but Aura swung her blades and cut both men in half at the waist. She rolled out of the car and a man to close to shoot tried to punch her, Aura took the man's hand flipped him over her shoulder and drove a quickly formed foot blade down into his stomach and pressed herse;f against the car still feeling a few bullets make it thrue.

It didn't take an expert on body language to watch as Aura tensed up as she threw shade on the whole kookie religion those bastards had dreamed up. Remy was never much for obscuring her opinion on matters, but if she had guessed Aura was still touchy about it she might have tried to deliver the blow a bit softer then she had.. maybe.. just a teeny bit. Not that she wasn't bitter herself about the whole affair. They had stolen her life from her in the literal sense.
"Sorting out tha bullshit from the truth is an important life skill. So is having an appropriate level of self respect." Remy felt like she was mentoring the woman all over again, only this time it was more true to her real feelings on matters and none of the crap she had been forced to say. Winking at Aura as she was looked at for confirmation of the plan before shrugging as it was a good a plan as any for her.
Aura broke cover and started drawing fire and Remy broke from her cover once it was obvious that most of the attention had been drawn to the 'easier' pickings. A burst of fully automatic fire sweeping the balcony on the left and moving to the right in a seamless one handed fashion. The accuracy less of a concern then forcing heads down with a few examples of their less then swift fellows. Her other hand yanking off a grenade from her webbing and tossing it left then another right shortly after their perspective sweeps. Explosions and their accompanying debris killing or wounding the men to keep them from shooting back long enough where they weren't Remy's concern any longer.
A feral grin on her race as she charged the remaining men, heedless of the few shots she took to her torso in the intervening space as she drew her pistol and executed the remainder with a single bullet a piece. The street almost eerily quiet in the wake of their combined brutal violence save for the moaning of a few temporary survivors on the balconies.
"The rest are probably holed up in their base. You up for rescuing some mutants from a cult or have you had your fill of fun for the day?"
It didn't seem to bother her that their were a few bullet holes in her fatigues. Not that she particularly cared if Aura suspected there was something different about her since their last meeting all those years ago.
A bitter part of Aura wonderd where Remy had been five years ago or better ten. The woman could have saved her so much pain and grief. A simple command would of been all that was needed. She did not reply before she charged the group however, the topic of why was to big to get into in the middle of combat she decided or maybe she was just afraid of the answer. Working with her old mentor however was still natural feeling to her and brought her comfort and a strange bit of calmness. Part of her mind chastised herself just for doubting her old friend. It was somthing she would need to correct.
Less then a minute or two after they charged, they had cleared the blockade, Aura stabbed the ones still breathing in the heart or slashed their necks to make sure they would not follow or report what occurred, though she suspected most would have ceased living before that could happen anyway. "I was so scared back then, my oldest friend. I ran from the forest after i buried you all. i had lived the very thing we had been taught was sin. When i made to new york city i still thought the humans and mutants were at war. The more i learned Miracle might not have been honest with us the more i clung to the old ways of the woods. I never left the war, not truely until just a few years back. I came here to try and help sort the ruins of my mind and soul" she said with a sigh. It was strange confessing it like that to Remy.
She gathered her courage. "had i known you were still alive i never would have left the woods without you. I would have stayed by your side" she said trying to assure herself almost as much as she was remy. Maybe she would not have killed over 30 innocent mutants as a puppet of mystics, maybe she would of been e better person. A voice in her reminded her that would also have meant no Allison and no Alex either.
"Are you hurt?"{/color] she asked her eyes looking to the bullet holes. Their was something different she knew. "I can never refuse to help our people, im not sure i ever could. I am enjoying this vacation, I Have not fought like this since i became a mom" she said casually her mind not realizing that remy had no idea Aura was a mom.

This was the worst sort of reunion, awkward. Remy was under no illusions that she was any sort of people person. She was a badass warrior valkyrie in her mind first and everything else sort of fell in line behind that mental self image. The worst part of it was Remy had avoided making contact with Aura for a reason. Would and should Remy do what she can to put Aura down like some sort of rabid animal or would they be able to be some sort of mutual understanding. What she hadn't expected was some weird best friend leaning towards mother complex. Which was ironic since not only was Aura older looking then her now, but an actual mother as well. Talk about surprises.
She however gave Aura her the full attention she could in a potential combat zone and wasn't about to make light of what could potentially be a important moment in both their lives. Pulling out a pack of cigarettes from one of her numerous pockets she tapped one out and lit it, giving it a long puff before offering one to Aura to see if she wanted it.
"Helping our kind is a noble. The means are important too." Taking a deliberate moment to inhale so she could sigh, the human actions so much easier when she had an excuse to make her lungs work by smoking. Gesturing casually to indicate they should walk, but didn't set the pace fast. In fact it was sort of lazy as if they were two friends just on a walk and their happened to be bodies nearby.. which was sort of the vibe Remy was going for as she started to reload the spent magazines.
"Look I have never been the greatest socializer or anything like that so if I fuck this up or trigger some strings hold back till we finish before you stab someone over it. It is clear you need to get some things off your chest so we will just take it easy on our way to our next stop on the Badass Chicks Express. I doubt anyone will stop us." Shrugging and smirking at Aura with a cig jaunting out at an angle.
"You did the right thing, leaving the woods. I was dead and still am for the literal definition of the word so don't feel anyway bad over that." Stowing away the magazines as they continued their sedate stroll. Reaching over with a gloved hand to poke a finger into one of the holes and draw it back to show off the black blood before wiping it off on her pants. "Miracle was the most convincing sort of liar, twisting the truth into a pretzel to make it serve the goals of the, lets face it, cult. Add into all the mutant and mundane powers of brainwashing and psychological twisting I saw we both turned out.. if not great acceptably."
Unable to handle the serious for so long she lightened it just a notch by smiling over at Aura. "Happy to hear your a mom.. and that you haven't gone on any rampages for awhile. You should find a hobby or open a shop and settle down somewhere and raise your kid and try and be the best mom you can be. Sort of just let Aura fade into obscurity and die for anyone but criminal statistic nerds and people who get hard over killers." Shrugging again as she stated her version of the truth.
"So I am sure you have questions. Lay them on me and I will try my best to answer. Can't guarantee you will like any of the answers though, but that's life."
She declined the cigarette, it was a habit she had never actually tried one. Though she had tried other things. She scanned balconies and positions she might have picked for traps as they went. It was reflex for her even after all these years, kept fresh by countless ambushes from vengeful gangs or anti mutant attacks. Part of her wished she had wondered here instead of new york, she had to remind herself then would been a long boat rise, unlike the canadian border.
"No one here could stop us, their aim is poor and we outnumber them two to many" she smirked back taking her meaning not to be triggered to heart. SHe might have meant not to stab her, but Aura took it as a reminder not to charge unnecessarily into a situation she could not get out of. Aura knew her tendency for suicidal missions, only in the past few years had she largely tried to change that policy. It was hard, but she had made progress.
"Then perhaps no one truely left those woods alive. My body lives, but my soul....." she let trailed off catching the sound of a closing window and a civilian deciding another time would be better to check if things were safe. "" The sad thing is i knew she lied many years ago, it just took awhile to understand that it matterd she lied at all" she said watching as Remy's black blood dripped out of her wound as she poked her finger inside.
she did not return her friends smile. "I'm a walking war crime old friend, i have killed thousands since i came out of those woods, mostly humans but over sixty of our own as well, many for the crime of simply being human. The crys of those dead haunt me when i close my eyes and old memories of those we once called friends dieing screams haunt my dreams. Nearly everyone i ever cared about is buried or missing without contact, most for years and likely dead. The world is far more dangerous for our people now then they were before i tried protecting them. I don't know if theirs enough left in my soul to move on" she said a bit sadly. Aura had been trying to move on, but she felt the chains of the past so tightly on her soul. "My partner was raped by a human and became pregnant....she dissopeared without a trace recently, while i strive to keep Alex from being what we were, the child has seen much death, has had to flee bombs and attacks meant for me, I'm a hazard to life around me" she said her voice when speaking of her old partner Allison as well as her child sounding defeated but desperate. Aura did not want to abandon Alex but she also was convinced Alex could be raised better by Mirror.
"How did you leave it all behind old friend? Are you dreams as haunted as mine? Why did you not come for me? I would have followed your orders you know." she said as they walked. "Have you managed to move on? When did you figure everything we were taught was untrue? How did you avoid clinging to it harder in the dace of doubt? she pressed as they moved. much as Remy thought they had not encountered another ambush or any other fighters yet, maybe they had gotten smart or maybe they were hiding in their base or just occupied, she had no idea and perhapse as long as they saved their people it did not not matter.

"Typical bullies thinking a gun makes them hot shit. Not unusual no matter where you are." She hedged, trying to delay venturing into talking about her least favorite subject, the past. Who would when your past was basically a catalogue of contrafct killings and revenge slayings.
"Eh, the world gets more dangerous every day period. As technology advances so does the hum,,-sentient capacity to cause destruction and violence. Far as I can see it you only have a few options going forward. Push on continuing as you have, change in someway, or kill yourself. Pretty much the choice everyone is given at every crossroads in their life. Still the fact you feel something is probably a good thing. Who knows how deep that mind scrambling BS went. How sure can you be that all your actions were your own?" Shrugging again as she laid out possible thoughts for Aura to consider and took out a sentry on a balcony with a quick double tap of her rifle.
"Not sure what you mean by leaving it behind. True I relax and am semi retired at the moment. But my life is violence and death. Well unlife such as it is. Sort of the dark version of a pheonix. As for not coming for you.." She considered a lie then shrugged. Of all people Aura deserved the truth.
"I went through a period of rebirth. Little more then an animal following instinctual desires. Somehow went from Canada and ended up in Europe somehow and traveled south leaving a trail of retribution in my wake. By the time I had gained self control and awareness I left everything behind and became a mercenary. Guess somewhere along the way I worked through what had happened in my own way. The only thing that kept me around the camp was constant brainwashing. Wasn't a true believer like an impressionable youth like yourself was. As for not coming to see you, I wasn't sure if I wanted to kill you or save you. Or if it is even possible to do either. Not that I even guessed you were alive for several years. Following the news hasn't ever been a real priority for me. Doubly so when your in countries you dont speak the language. If it makes you feel better to hate me for not trying to be your guardian angel or trying to stop you go right ahead."
It made sense the natural progression of technology made things more dangerous. Remy was blunt, that certainly had stayed the same from what she recalled. She was also correct in the paths she had open to her, something about someone else voicing those opinions felt like freedom to her, the sweetness of authority confirming her thoughts. No Remy was not her leader here, she reminded herself though it was hard not to simply fall back into the patterns of old. "Their are still giant holes in my memories and i often recall things is many different ways. Sometimes i would wake up and be back in the woods, trying to take a hill, or a gun emplacement....still happons actually" she said truthfully, it was happening less these days but it did still occur and ura had known the frequency to change.
"I am...was what i was crafted to be By Miracle, Solkat and Sayre. Aura said her sudden anger shooting through her aura as a quick turbulence in her Aura. She swung a blade out and slashes a deep gash in the car they passed. "They got what THEY wanted, Miracle got her weapon and i was proud to be that weapon, because Sayre insured it was all i knew and understood. When i reached new York city the concept of disobeying orders even those of the dead was near unthinkable to me....." she said not realizing what the feeling deep in her was.
"well your in luck, Binge made a documentary a few years back, The most deadly Mutant supremacists. I had several episodes devoted to me if you ever wanna see what you missed. I don't hate you my Battle Sister Friend, I'm quite glad your safe. Theirs a comfort in me knowing you exist...that I'm not alone. Your the only one who understands what it was like in those woods and theirs very few people who have been as devoted to the art of the dance...battle." she said taking three shots at a figure she saw in a window with a gun, the first two were way off to the right and left, one breaking a window int he next apartment over and the third struck the cement lip of the porch shot toward the gun, deflected again before weakly denting a sign her fourth struck the man in a place that ensure we would not be continuing his family line. She had aimed all four shots at the man's head.
"You are Family, my Good Friend. I fear Miracles hands may always play some part in ours souls and blood. You sounded a lot like i was at first back then. Almost feral. Are you self employed? Have you ever made it by BYC? It's a fun place, with i'm sure a fair sure of contracts and few are likely of me anymore" she said deflecting another stray bullet as they approached the building. "Actually i did find a hobby, running a fighting dojo in the City. It has not been easy...the concept of slowing down and following my own directive has been at time maddening. You find any hobbies other then being a good shot?" she said tensing moment as the sound of metal on concrete only to see a rather mal=nourished looking up and going back to tearing into the garbage.
