The X-men run missions and work together with the NYPD, striving to maintain a peaceful balance between humans and mutants. When it comes to a fight, they won't back down from protecting those who need their help.
Haven presents itself as a humanitarian organization for activists, leaders, and high society, yet mutants are the secret leaders working to protect and serve their kind. Behind the scenes they bring their goals into reality.
From the time when mutants became known to the world, SUPER was founded as a black-ops division of the CIA in an attempt to classify, observe, and learn more about this new and rising threat.
The Syndicate works to help bring mutantkind to the forefront of the world. They work from the shadows, a beacon of hope for mutants, but a bane to mankind. With their guiding hand, humanity will finally find extinction.
Since the existence of mutants was first revealed in the nineties, the world has become a changed place. Whether they're genetic misfits or the next stage in humanity's evolution, there's no denying their growing numbers, especially in hubs like New York City. The NYPD has a division devoted to mutant related crimes. Super-powered vigilantes help to maintain the peace. Those who style themselves as Homo Superior work to tear society apart for rebuilding in their own image.

"You must have a better spy network than I do because I'm afraid I missed out on that information."
She did ofcourse have a better spy network then anyone. She picked up stuff mentally and not many people where trained against that to say the least. Luke wasn't very skilled at repelling mental powers either. She picked up that he knew something about the plane thing.
"Why so curious though? Don't a lot of schools have private planes for the administrative staff to fly around in?"
Paranoia kicked in. Luke knew something more about it but he wasn't telling. Even the whispers where yelling at her that he lied. She placed her hands on her head seeing as the whispers where hurting again. She sat down on the ground of the pool and softly spoke:"You lie." It wasn't in a angry or scared tone, it was more of a tone of making a statement that is a fact. He knew something and she knew that he knew something.
"This is a school for mutants to not only get an education but also to focus in gaining control of their abilities. Why do you ask?"
School weren't supposed the have planes hidden in their basements. Or secret training rooms either. Where did she get those ideas from. Maybe it was a secret, maybe it was a very big secret. Cailyn wasn't very good at keeping secret because she couldn't keep secret from normal appart.
She slowly swam towards luke until she was close. She got up again and softly said. "Maybe it's a secret, but i heard there was a plane in the basement." She spoke so soft that probably nobody could hear her. She nodded when she said that in a manner that she too knew about it. Somehow she just knew, and it was all a matter of time before she found out how luke would respond to her knowing things. This could ofcourse lead to trouble somehow eventually.
"Thanking him would deffinately be a good choice."
Luke confirmed that it would be the best idea to thank him. "Then i will" She said with a smile. It was nice to meet nice people for once. Luke had a very thrusting aura around him. He was nice and he probably didn't deserve to be blind. But he did have a handy dandy power.
"He is a nice guy though. You'll probably like him. Plus, since he lives here he can show you around and introduce you to people much better than I can."
A nice guy, but cold seemingly. Luke seemed to have lots of fate into that young man. She however was a bit paranoide about lots of things, especially about people she didn't know. However he did save her. She did already get a short tour from the headmistress.
She stood up again and wanted to try the swimming trick again. She had lots of question for luke though if he was so thrusting towards people. Everyone was very thrusting here. it was odd. She turned her head to luke and started to shoot one of her question. "What happends here ? " She asked. She had been picking up things like secret planes and traininggrounds. Even a basement full of secrets. It was time for some answer, or atleast attempt to get some.
"For the next one, Cailyn, how about an action. Something someone is doing. When we put enough words into this story I'm making, it'll be finished and I can read it out loud."
To bad her powers didn't really work on demand. She just picked stuff up from time to time and the previous answer was good seemingly. She tried to focus but it didn't work very well. She got nothing exept maybe the things she was throwing in herself. She was drawing a absolute blank for the answer that she had to come up with. Sad but true story.
"I don't know." She said a bit with a sad tone. It didn't work thinking about it too much though. "Sometimes i just know things." She added as a explanation. She wasn't really a mind reader more a information catcher of some sort. She hoped he understood that she couldn't help with it. She sipped her hot cocao and she had to ask the question that she had to ask. "Are you mad at me now?" She asked. Her father always got mad with her if she didn't get the answers right.
The question seemed to catch luke of guard. Was sam that famous around these parts. Not that famous ment anything. They where still "human".
... Sam. He's one of the mansion greeters, super friendly, a little firtacous with the girls, and an over all good guy. He's over by the grill... no... he's in the water over there by Alexandra."
She looked over at the guy in the water. He seemed very normal and not very famous, Strange. But he was very familiar somehow, had she seen him somewhere before. She pondered about it while the voices started throwing suggestions at here. Some of them where even half nice guesses. "He's the one that jumped in to help you after I knocked you in the water."
Ow now he rang a bell. The saving live guard man. Somehow she found him to have a bit of a chilly person. Maybe that ment he was extra layed back, maybe not. Never the less she was saved by him. She turned her head a bit back to luke. "Maybe i should thank him after swimming classes?" It was kind of a suggestion and question at the same time.
"You'll have to make sure to grab yourself some food when you get hungry. I hear Sam is a real master on the grill." . "Don't those burgers smell good?"
Food, all she had been eating was the cereal boxes that she found in the lower cabinet of the kitchen. She took 2 of them at night and hid them in her "room" just in case. but now there was talk about different food. About burgers. At the pinacle of human existence, people still ate bad food over good food. She was guilty of that crime aswel though. Strange how things go.
Well she smelled the burgers but she wasn't that extreemly hungry. She still wanted to try them eventually. But could this sam be thrusted with the burgers. He might have bad intentions for her. She was always paranoid like this. The voices in her head didn't help much either. They mostly stimulated her bad and insecure thoughts and left the rest for the dogs sort of speak. "Who is sam." She had to ask before she could even consider venturing to the grill.
"How long have you been at the mansion? I don't remember ever running into you before."
She was just floating around till luke floated next to her. How did he do that, floating so controled. Did he have secret submarine powers too? Not much do break your head about. Maybe it was luck, maybe it was skill. But then the big question came up. How long was it since she was caught during the party and implied into the x-mansion for "observation." The word made it sound like a zoo. She was still here though because they would help get back to her room in the sanctuary. But for now she would enjoy the mansion.
She counted in her head and said: "a while." The answer ofcourse could be taken in various ways. A while could be a hour, day , week or year with any number in front of them. She herself hadn't been keeping up with the days. People who take note of time will have their lives revolve around plannings and stuff. Not fun for her.
"Good. Good." "Make sure you keep kicking with that frog kick. That'll keep your legs floating and give you more buoyancy all around."
She didn't pay much attention after hearing she did good. It was all a matter of trying now. With the tip of her tongue sticking out of her mouth she kept trying, everytime doing just a little bit better. She ofcourse had no clue what it took to actually become a decent swimmer and that she would probably need more lessons afterwards. This lesson for here was really exhausting mainly because of her bad condition. She never got any physical exersice in the asylum, and why would she. She was stuck in a room where the walls where made of pillows. "When you get tired go back to just floating on your back." "That'll help you stay used to the water and staying afloat even if you're to tied to do full strokes and kicks."
The hint that she needed. She was getting tired even though the time she spend wasn't that much. She switched to her back and floated looking at the sky. Still no clouds to see, only blue air. A nice day with lots of sun. If only she new that she would need sunburn for a day like this. She would probably look like a tomato after this lesson.
He explained it again and then showed her what he ment. She got a little bit more of a idea now what to do with the hands and legs. She nodded that she understood what he was trying to teach her. All she had to do was copy it well enough to get it down.
"Think you can try again?"
She nodded again. This time she took a pose that she was ready and waited a few second to try again. She repeated it all in her head again and she pushed herself in the water. She was floaty and cupped her hands to do the same time as luke. It would work if she didn't sink as much. She got 2 scoops of water and then her lower body went down. She stood in the water again and skittered back to the beginning to try again. She tried and tried for around 4 times until she actually got in a few more scoops and didn't sink as fast as she did at the start. Improvement they called it.
A big talk of explantion about swimming. This looked like rocket science now to her. Nevertheless she was going for it. Time to learn how to really swim. She thought through the things he said in her mind.
"push in the water, pull your arms while kicking like a frog." She thought. Ofcourse the voices in her head repeated the words she thought and changed them little bits, confusing her. No time to think about it. "here is go." She said a bit unsure of herself.
She pushed into the water. That went well, one part checked of the things to do list. But now came the pulling. She pulled her arms but not in a swimming mater. She pulled her arms like she was pulling a rope and she sank to the bottom of the shallow part. She got back up and tried the same again. This time she floated a bit longer but she still didn't move a inch. She stood up and looked at look. "It didn't work." She said.
"Alright. First thing you need to learn is how to relax and just float." "Spread your arms wide and then just lean back slowly into the water."
The lessons began. Pretty strange one, lay on your back on the water. Wasn't water supposed to not carry people. She pondered the thought and decided to give it a try. She could stand up anyways so no big deal. She spread her arms wide and lets herself fals slowly into the water like people would do with a snow angel.
With all odds stacked again her in her own mind, she did it. She actually floated. It was fun too, to slowly float on the water watching the sky. The sky was clear today. She smiled and decided to flop her arms to move. Didn't work though , she sank and she stood up again rubbing her eyes to get the water out.
"Ok. You need to kick slowly and gently as well as flap your arms gently like an angel or something."
Gently was the hint that was supplied. She just flopped her arms like crazy. She tried again but this time gently. She felt like a upside down swimming sea turtle. She giggled at herself for doing this. It was fun to flop around like a upside down sea turtle, until she bumped her head against the side for not watching.
"Sure I can. Just come on over to the shallow end."
The shallow end. The watery place of water that was shallow. She could stand in it though but she was short so eventually the water would be to high for her. She nodded with determination and walked over to the shallow end stairs and put her feat in.
She eventually got the courage and walked into the pool. The first few steps only submerged her to her waist. It was wet but warm. The weather helped ofcourse. She put her hand in as she got into a deeper part. eventually she was half submerged in the water. Luke however was a bit bigger so he wasn't in the same situation. She got used to the water and found it very fun. To bad she couldn't get into the more exciting deep end for swimming action because she couldn't swim yet. She just played around a bit and played in the water until look started the lessons.
"My eyes are blind but I can sense things around me." "I can't see color but I can see shapes and movement."
Blind huh? That was a odd way to see. She knew that blind people didn't see the normal way that she herself saw or any other non-blind people in the world but still. He got a very handy power to work around that seemingly. He was one of the lucky ones. She nodded that she agreed what he was speaking about. Seeing things in different ways was something she could relate to. "Do you know how to swim?"
She was still watching the on going race as she was still dripping from the "swim" she had. She turned to luke and pulled a eyebrow. She wasn't much for sarcasm but the answer to that question was pretty obvious. "I can't." She responded as she watched the race again. "I can teach you if you want."
Now that was a interresting proposal. Learning how to swim would be good for her. She pulled a smile as she turned to luke again. "Really?" She asked.
With confusion on her mind she accepted the present. It was a small box. What could it hold, definantly not a gaming boy. Boys didn't fit in a box like that. That idea was scrapped from the mental note what a gameboy was. What could it be then, only one way to find out.
She started to unwrap the present with militairy precision, being very carefull not the rip the paper. It would be a shame if the colorfull paper would be ripped. The paper held a box with a black box pictured on it. A box in a box? She opened the box to find a strange object in it. Seemingly it opened up. She opened it and it revealed 2 screens and buttons. Buttons where ment to be pushed.
She tried a few buttons but nothing happened until she tried the smaller one in the corner. The screen turned on and the light shined on her face. "Oeehh." She said in amazement. "Shiny." now that it was on, it still didn't get her anywhere seeing as she didn't know how to work it. She held it upside down and tilted her head. "What does it do?" she asked while scratching the side of her head with her free hand.
It was the man who bumped into the woman who bumped into her and knocked her into the pool. It was quite the experience for her, the almost drowning part. He seemed to be quite sorry about what happened. "It's ok." She said and patted him. It was all in good nature.
"What's your name?"
Luke looked at her but didn't really look look. Something strange was about him. Maybe he looked at people differently like she did with her thoughts. It was kind of strange though, maybe that is why he bumped into her. "My name?" She asked. "Cailyn." She said to the luke man. "How do you see?" She blurted out, knowing that he didn't see like normal people did. This could be a bad start.
