The X-men run missions and work together with the NYPD, striving to maintain a peaceful balance between humans and mutants. When it comes to a fight, they won't back down from protecting those who need their help.
Haven presents itself as a humanitarian organization for activists, leaders, and high society, yet mutants are the secret leaders working to protect and serve their kind. Behind the scenes they bring their goals into reality.
From the time when mutants became known to the world, SUPER was founded as a black-ops division of the CIA in an attempt to classify, observe, and learn more about this new and rising threat.
The Syndicate works to help bring mutantkind to the forefront of the world. They work from the shadows, a beacon of hope for mutants, but a bane to mankind. With their guiding hand, humanity will finally find extinction.
Since the existence of mutants was first revealed in the nineties, the world has become a changed place. Whether they're genetic misfits or the next stage in humanity's evolution, there's no denying their growing numbers, especially in hubs like New York City. The NYPD has a division devoted to mutant related crimes. Super-powered vigilantes help to maintain the peace. Those who style themselves as Homo Superior work to tear society apart for rebuilding in their own image.

Katrina was as curious as Cailyn but she herself kept to herself for it. Katrina asked about the lockers and such. The must hold all kind of forbidden goodies. They belonged to the so called x-men. No clue what they where though exept of what she heard of them. She couldn't make a picture of it in her mind. From what she heard they where just mutants but there had to be more to them to be superheroes. Something like spandaxes with blue and red, maybe even capes.
Sam however wanted to leave no mysteries. He pulled out stuff from a locker that was seemingly his. A suit, black and stealthy looking. Didn't seem that extreemly special, and it missed a cape for being a superhero suit. It looked more military like they stuff that her father's "special" personal seemed to wear. This made her a bit itchy though. What if they where just like them. The similarities where there in clothing and secrets. She just hadn't figured out there true intentions yet.
“Think I am going to get in trouble but,” shrugging slightly Sam said, “I can take you two into the jet if you want, it looks way cooler on the inside!”
He stuffed his suit back into his locker as he said that. Cailyn tilted her head and looked confused. "You said we couldn't touch." She said to him. Entering the plane would be considered touching. This was his very own contraction. Strangly he changed his mind about seemingly. Maybe it was a trick to get the two of them out of here. Was sam really a good person? These types of things always ran through her head when meeting people and going places she had never been to. One way to find out what his true intentions where. Well actually two, but only one way she could control.
"What I mean was, do you believe what they say? Do you give credence to their words?"
"Yes." She said pretty sure of herself. "I take them into consideration." She added. It wasn't like you could ignore voices in your head. They where always there, talking, whispering, making you think about things you don't want to think about. They where always there and vigilante to bring chaos to her thoughts. Or to straighten her thoughts out, who know. She sure didn't.
She then responded to her earlier comment about things being fine the way they where. It was a explanation about what she could do and about mutant powers. Everything had a downside though. Some had bigger downsides then others. Cailyn wasn't a swimming star but she knew that with metal limbs you would sink to the bottom. Common knowledge they called it. Her powers had a bigger downside. She lost control of her body and thoughts and become a vessel to bring havoc to minds. Usefull if it functioned in your adventage, not so usefull if it didn't. "Every change has a downside to it, mutants included." She responded plain and simple. Mutants brought change to the word. Good and bad change. Good for evolution, bad for the people who believed they shouldn't be here. Mutants where threatened everyday for being what they are. That was the bad change they brought into this world. The good one would be being more usefull to the world. The bigger picture that most people failed to see.
What a odd question. If she wouldn't listen, how would she know. Kind of a contradiction of some sort. "I have to, else i wouldn't know." She answered while fitting another piece in. She was still sitting at the same table in the same spot for the entire conversation, paying more attention to the puzzle then to the woman. Strangly she sticked around. Most people would have dripped of if they didn't get enough attention. This could ofcourse be used in your adventage if you where right enough in your mind. "They are working very well for me," "I crafted them myself. They are far superior to the flesh and blood parts that used to be in their place."
Cailyn tilted her head while looking at the puzzle and not at meld. Strangly they worked beter then flesh and blood, but superior in what way. "Never forget the way you where born is they way your most familiar with." She said in a wise voice as she held her finger up. "Replacing them might sound better but always has a downside to it." She continued. That was her point of view though, Never fix or replace what isn't broken. Flesh and blood worked fine for her though. No need for metalic arms and legs for her. She placed another puzzle piece in, conecting the palm tree to the outside line. It was getting somewhere atlast.
"You have your own unique insight into things. Don't let others tell you otherwise either."
"They do actually." she said. Not only referring to people but also the voices in her head. Strange how she herself always contradicted herself throught the voices in her head. The palm tree was about to finished though. Another part of the puzzle completed. It was all very strange how she philosophised though. Strangly she spoke very "good" about it, considered lots of options and taken a point of vieuw, how strange. Her father however would be proud in the dominant teacher of brutality and hardship kind of way.
The girls body seemed to be out of order though. Well not in order like it was supposed to be. "How is that metal part working out for you?" She asked as she turned her head again with a smile on her face. It was always fun to ask people things that she isn't supposed to know about. Specially when the conversation already went into the akward direction. She should really take beter care of her body though. The weight might harm her or something. Cailyn already know somehow what she could do and it couldn't be healthy to toy with your body like that, would it?
"It would be anarchy." She responded simply and short. The girl knew her standards and was not afraid to take a stand for her believes. This was good even though it would or already did get her in allot of trouble. Most self thinking individuals get that allot. Mainly because they don't know when to think and when to do. But still, those types of people where needed in times like these. Sheep following other sheep in their war against mutants just because they are what they are. It's the 1800's all over again, only on genetic level.
"You have a perfectly good mind in that head of yours." She continued speaking. The whispers told her different things though. That she was dangerous, a threat to her and everything around her. That still didn't take away what she herself was thinking about her. Her opinion did not change. "Don't let them tell otherwise." She said and pointed with her finger towards her. The briliant lesson of today, given by Cailyn. Not that she would ever give lessons, would she ? It was weird for her giving advice, mainly because she wasn't the most stable person in the world. She fitted another puzzle piece into her puzzle. The palm tree was almost there, so she started searching for more palmtree pieces.
Ghost seemed to be a bit concerned about the situation and it all hanging from a single game of checkers. Cailyn saw it as a friendly game of checkers against a perhaps worhty opponent. She made the first move , the dragon was up to make his. She would see where it would go from here on. Nothing to do about it anymore since it already started.
The dragon put on it's glasses and prepared it's tweezers while pondering it's move. Cailyn awaited the move and prepared some of her options. The dragon copied her move only the exact oposite. Was it very good or just a copycat. That would be found out soon enough. Cailyn scratched her head as she had not anticipated this move. Not many people copy the first move of their opponent. It shows lack of creativity or maybe it was just good tactics.
Cailyn made her move and after a few minutes of back and forths, the piles of fallen pieces where stacking up at both sides until they both had 4 pieces left. It was a very interresting game of checkers. If this would continue it would turn into a tie, unless one of them would make a run for a king. It was unlikly though since the both had 2 pieces in front and 2 in the back. It would be hard to get one. The dragon scratched it's beard as Cailyn scratched her head about what move to make.
Cailyn looked at ghost to see if she understood the situation. If it would be a tie and the dragon would be a sore loser, The two of them would end up on the menu. The tension was building and Cailyn asked. "Could i have a bathroom break? "
"Reality pains people." She said softly to herself. For some atleast it was. People not accepting reality wishing they where somebody else, wishing they where the big star or the big hero of the world. A ignorant dream that only a handfull of people could accomplish in this harsh world. It was a reality some people did not wish to accept. She was one of those people though. Reality was a pain to her. What was real what was not, what was dream what was ambition. It had no borders to her.
"I believe that each of us need to make our own border between thinking and not thinking. What is best for me may not be best for you or for Aura or for someone else. Its a careful line to walk, I agree."
Another piece of the puzzle went into it. It was getting a bit more shape seeing as it was no longer the outer lines that where completed. "People are unable to do so as individuals." She said. "Hence we have politics as a aftermath." She continued. "Laws, bounderies." This was true, people trying to control each other making them all equal and lazy. Making them not think for themselves and follow like sheep. Her father exploited that sign of weakness amoung humanity and gained a profit of it. Like her father, she thought for herself outside of the rules not looking at the results. Just because she never learned to and had a great example of how to be like that.
She had a pretty good idea of what Cailyn was getting at. Though the fact that she spoke it outloud ment she needed a reference of some sort. Aknowledgement about her being correct. Nothing wrong with that though. Cailyn did pay lots of attention to her in her own weird way. The woman spoke and thought highly of her at the moment. Nothing wrong with that either. Cailyn still wasn't very convinced yet though. People could think different from how they react. She placed another piece of the puzzle in.
"Philosophy could lead to bad things, if you over think it." Cailyn said wisely to her and also demonstrating what she could do. "But then again thinking is needed to live, where does the border between thinking and not thinking lie." She continued. A very though question though. "And who makes these border?" She added. There where lots of more questions where that came from. Allot of things where unknown to her and everyone else. Most of these things where subjects people didn't take the time to think about or where no answer could be found. People could only find the way that was right for them. However these type of questions could also be asked about goverments and leaders. Why do they set up borders for people to live by, why not the people themselves do that. The answer to that question was: "Chaos." and she spoke the answer softly to herself.
The first mayhem has been planted into a man who seemingly was a soldier. The suspision was easily implanted into his mind since soldiers where always suspisios of every partner they had in the beginning. Cailyn's body was just a mere vessel at the moment for these types of mayhem. This would greatly increase the havoc of the battle but it wasn't up to her what to do and what not.
The next target however was a bit more fancy in the way that he could walk around without being seen. Sight was one of the primary senses people had but she didn't need sight to know that he was there. His brain patterns where still on her radar. His mind was fragile though. He thrusted to much on his abilities to keep him safe. Let's see what could be done about it.
Her powers started kicking in again. Her hands twisted and her neck shocked. She pointed towards the position that this man named Flynn would supposible be from her position and started whispering in his mind. "Pain will purify you, reveal yourself to claim it." She continued to whisper this over and over again to see it's effect on his body and mind. It was all just one big experiment of her powers and to see how strong the peoples minds here where. She did however sense a very mentally strong person in the area that she should be aware of, he could pose a threat.
"Some might consider it a virtue and others a vice. For myself, I believe it only polite to introduce myself and I suppose I consider politeness to be a sort of virtue. As for my thoughts, I was wondering whether or not it was even possible for me to do a puzzle now."
A very good , and well thought through answer. Some people would just say either of them, some would just go blank. "Fair enough." She said. "Puzzles are for everyone." She continued. "It's just a matter of which puzzle you are working on." This ofcourse could be taken in as either the puzzle she was working on for real, or the puzzle of life. She continued working on the puzzle while saying this. She learned from the people in the sanctuary that you would never throw yourself into a conversation. Always try to find out the other persons motives before thrusting them. This was no different to her.
"do you do puzzles often?"
"Everyone does." She replied absently while testing out another puzzle piece. "Most people just don't realize it." Another riddle or puzzle as people might say. "But people can always do a physical one for the fun of it like me." She said and turned her head a bit. This girl seemed like she was nice to her, no motives yet. How this would turn out was a puzzle on it's own sort of speak.
"My dad told me that riddle when I was ten. The answer's a river." Aurum proudly announced. "You're pretty good with riddles, though. I'm sure you can find another one that'd stump me."
"very good." She said to the young man. She started to think up another one she had heard somewhere, or maybe she made it up herself who knows. A tought one for the common man it would be but not for the uncommon girl sitting there thinking up a riddle. There is was and there it wil be she said the riddle to the young man.
"Pronounced as one letter, And written with three, Two letters there are, And two only in me. I'm double, I'm single, I'm black, blue, and gray, I'm read from both ends, And the same either way. What am I?"
This would be a tough one indeed. Not something to figure out by just reading it and thinking it over. You would have to get the way the riddle was said and see the clues it gave. Maybe he could solve it, maybe he couldn't. She was going to find out either way.
All the riddles that passed by, stuck in her mind. The answers just popped in her head on everyone of those riddles. "A sieve, a shoe, Treebark, Sound." She spoke up on a very fast pace. The riddles weren't really that hard, but most people would need time to think about it. She didn't have too. Even if she didn't have the answer then very perhaps she got the answer out of the readers head. Not that she would know if she was using that power but still.
"Try and figure out what this picture means. There's a phrase hidden in the image."
She picked the book from his hand and looked at it while helding it far away from her as possible. She tilted her head and turned the book upside down. The letters said Stand. The b's stood for be. The letters stood up and had numbers 1to5 standing next to the b's. "Stand up and be counted? " She asked and she put the book back into his hands as she found it. Funny riddles, but easily solved by a puzzle freak like herself. Maybe she sould ask a riddle to him instead. "I have a bed, but i don't sleep. I run but have no legs, what am i? " She asked the young man sitting next to her.
She was the best games player in the asylum until she left. Not that it said much about her, more about the people who she played against. Her father however never played games with her. He was more into training her. This could be a challenge. Luckily it wasn't chess, because she didn't know how to play that game very well. "She nodded from behind ghost and looked at the dragon if he agreed with her.
"I'm not very good, if you can play well, I vote you play... her."
The red dragon appeared to agree with ghost and headed of into the cave. He probably went to get a big checkers board the size of a car or something, but he came back with a pair of dragon sized tweezers and a normal sized board. He put it down and begane to open the box with the tweezers. The dragon had to have good eyes seeing as the board was very tiny for him/her. Cailyn had no clue what the gender of the dragon was. Cailyn sat down and helped out set up the board. She played with the white pieces. "White starts." the dragon said to her and so the game began. "Good luck." She said to the dragon with a smile as courtesy to the dragon as she moved her piece that was at the edge of the board forward.
"Someone must play me in checkers. If one of your wins, and I doubt you will, I will take you at your word and you and your companions hiding in the cave may go free."
She was spotted. Might as wel crawl out from under the hole she was hiding behind and accept her fate. Her fate was to play a game a checkers against a big dragon with, strangly a little beard. He was red too which didn't help much. If he was yellow or green it wouldn't be as scary as a red or black dragon. Se said "Shhh." To the prince and walked out of her hiding place a bit scared. But if the dragon was right and it was just a game of checkers it would all turn out ok, wouldn't it ?
"Uh, Hello." She said a bit shyly and scared. She waves shortly at the dragon and closed in slowly and cautious. She didn't see a board of checkers anywhere though, maybe it was a trick to lure them out. Maybe so he could eat them both. She hid a bit behind ghost when she could and said. "So, checkers." She couldn't cheat with her powers on holograms though. This was going to be though. "Who plays?" She asked ghost and the dragon and the same time.
A flying man flew towards the ground. She never seen a flying man that flew. Cailyn tilted her head at him. Strange one, why fly down if you can walk. If Cailyn could fly it would make her pretty darn lazy, she'd never walk again. Lazy was bad.
Anyways where was she, ow yeah kitty person and flying man. Strangeness was sure to come next. Specially since the kitty person, who's name was Nika, was very interrested in the flying man, who's name was Streak. Odd name for a flying man.
They seemed to know each other very well. "Nice to meet you too." Cailyn said a bit absent minded as her eyes driffted towards the tile she was counting. Where was she again, ow yes 43. "44, 45 ,46 ,47 ,48" She softly said to herself. If the two of them needed her she would be there but at this moment she might aswel continue counting.
