The X-men run missions and work together with the NYPD, striving to maintain a peaceful balance between humans and mutants. When it comes to a fight, they won't back down from protecting those who need their help.
Haven presents itself as a humanitarian organization for activists, leaders, and high society, yet mutants are the secret leaders working to protect and serve their kind. Behind the scenes they bring their goals into reality.
From the time when mutants became known to the world, SUPER was founded as a black-ops division of the CIA in an attempt to classify, observe, and learn more about this new and rising threat.
The Syndicate works to help bring mutantkind to the forefront of the world. They work from the shadows, a beacon of hope for mutants, but a bane to mankind. With their guiding hand, humanity will finally find extinction.
Since the existence of mutants was first revealed in the nineties, the world has become a changed place. Whether they're genetic misfits or the next stage in humanity's evolution, there's no denying their growing numbers, especially in hubs like New York City. The NYPD has a division devoted to mutant related crimes. Super-powered vigilantes help to maintain the peace. Those who style themselves as Homo Superior work to tear society apart for rebuilding in their own image.

“Any particular reason you’re taking an ethereal jaunt?”
Strange set of words. Was it normal for the person who was talking to her to see and talk to ghosts like that. This was all getting a bit weird for her, and that was just a understatement. Not only found herself in a ghostly body but with a person who acted like it was the most normal thing in the world. All the other things he said about inventory ment nothing to her. She was very clueless where she was. She looked at the little cat who was licking her paw and ogling her. It was a very nice looking cat. The one you just want to pick up and cuddle. However the cat didn't like her presence that much though.
"I'm a ghost, am i not? " She asked the person. It was a bit of a statement aswel. "Anyways, where am i?" She quickly added a bit ashamed of herself. She should know where she was when she woke up, shouldn't see. If not and this would be a recuring thing, she would have to start getting out more.
Appearently it was just dandy to enter the plane. Touching it with your fear was approved of but touched with the hand not so much. Cailyn got into the plane a bit hesitantly and hoped she didn't do anything bad by accident.
It wasn't what she expected though. She expected it to be full of seats and fuzzy lights and all kind of bleepy thingies, just like space ships on tv. The reality differed. It had just a hand full of normal seats and it looked cold and sterile. It was kind of weird to expect something but get something different. It kind of shifted her of balance of her expectations of everything here. But it would just be her being paraniod again, or was it. It could still be a trap, like the voices in her head where implying. She softly spoke to herself to confort her. "It's going to be fine, it is not a trap." She said to herself.
Once she got a good look at the cockpit, her expectations where a bit correct. It had all kind of buttons that just screamed "Push me" to her, or where that just the voices in her head. Who would know. She just wasn't allowed to push buttons though. She refrained herself from doing so. She didn't want anything bad to happen to her.
And then Sam got a call to pick people up. He told katrina and Cailyn that there was no time to get them off. Cailyn paniced a bit and rushed to a seat as they started to become airborne. She quickly tried to click in the seatbelts but failed to do so in the rush. Why didn't it work. This ofcourse made her panic more and she even made soft eeping sounds everytime she failed to click the seatbelt in.
Ghost aknowledged that they had to go down the slide that where once the stairs to this mountain. Ghost went first and Cailyn quickly followed her example. Even the prince joined in. It was quiet strange how a rock slide could go so fast and was so smooth. It was just very unusual, but then again she never went down rock slides before. It was very scary though, going so fast down a big mountain. She wasn't very into fast thing without protection and this fell under that category.
Nearing the end, ghost used her wind powers to slow both the prince and herself down. Cailyn landed softly on her feet and she petted the dust of her pants. It was a good thing ghost slowed her down or else both the prince and herself would have been in the trees in front of them.
The prince's help quickly arrived and thanked both ghost and Cailyn for the help. She never was thanked for help before. She didn't know how to react and only had a bit of a red color on her face. They all quickly faded back into a metalish room. A very big metalish room. She know it was just a story but not that it was just a big metal room. It raised all kinds of questions, mostly by her voices that would better be left unaswered. For now the story was done, and she was tired. "That was fun." Cailyn said as she headed towards the door.
Somebody came into the library. Or atleast it sounded like somebody did. The person probable went on with his or her normal routine in the library. Maybe the person worked here, maybe it was somebody who wanted a book. Who knew.
“That you, Ghost? Fell asleep in the stacks again, eh? Well, I‘m just unlocking now. I‘ll be with you in a second.”
She was a ghost of somebody! Panic struck but it didn't help much seeing as she couldn't travel anywhere yet. The voice definantly sounded male, and a bit familiar aswel. Who could it be. Would it be the person who kept pet ghosts and somehow she ended up here. Maybe the local ghost trainer, like on TV. This was getting very strange seeing as she herself was inching slowly towards the door.
“… You okay?”
And there he was. The young man from the bookstore who wanted to have a riddle contest with her when she wasn't a ghost yet. "Uhmm, Boo?" She said to the young man. Was she haunting the store that she ended up every once in a while. This was getting all to strange.
The prince was pretty silly. He knew there was a strairs, he knew there was a backway and he still didn't even remotly tried to get out. What a weird story this was indeed. The prince however responded well to Cailyn and emptied his pockets. He might not have fully emptied them but it clearly was a start. With full pockets it would be hard to run , and ow they would run if the dragon every came after them.
Now that all of that was out of the way and the prince finally realizing he should get out of here, he lead them out to the stairs. It took a while before they got outside and they saw the stairs. They where pretty big and it would take a very long time getting down from them. All the running took a toll on Cailyn though. She was very out of shape, and that was just a understatement. She didn't sport at all and running around like this was getting her tired. She couldn't think of getting down these stairs in a fast pace but seemingly Ghost fixed that for her. She found a button to turn the stairs into a big slide.
The slide was big and looked like allot of fun. To bad it was big and scary though. She couldn't even see the end of it. She sat down at the edge of the slide and swallowed. "Should we go?" She asked a bit scared of the slide.
The battle raged on. Cailyn awaited her moments to influence her way into what this was all about. She had no real purpose but to influence in this entire fight. It was about nothing and it would end in nothing. However she was spotted during the battle. She was spotted by somebody from the mansion. She knew who she was from a face in the crowd, but never knew her name. Or atleast she never introduced herself to cailyn.
The woman approuched her very fast until she was close enough. Her hands twitched and her head started to go spastic. Shifted from left to right in a fast pace. She then grabbed the womans head with both of hands on the side. She held her in eye contact as her she was looking straight into her eyes. Memories, names and objectives where running through her head now coming straight from the woman who was named Circe.
The entire reason of this fight was to stop a virus. Technicly humanity itself acted like a virus itself. Going around the world destroying it. The objective ment nothing to Cailyn. It was foolish and inefficient. However this was the perfect chance to influence the woman she was holding at a level that she never used when she was herself. What a grand price was she holding right here. Every secret the woman held was now her own and every relationship she had was now open to her. Irony's judgement kicked in.
She planted all of it in her head. Every whisper she head was flowing into the womans mind, atleast that was what she was attempting to do. See the effect. Knowing what she knew, Circe's powers could cause allot of chaos. All the whispers where telling her to use her powers for chaotic ends, all in a different way. Some screaming some telling, some whispering. The voices she once had where now willingly helping her out for the fun of experimentation. How would the woman react to this was the question at hand.
(OOC: hope it's ok circe, if not just tell me and i'll change it a bitty )
What a day to sleep. Warm weather, nice breeze from a fan. What a way of waking up but wait a minute. Cailyn didn't have a fan in her room. It would mess up her puzzles. She had no windows open, where did this breeze come from. This was very odd. She twitched her nose as she slowly opened her eyes. Hello ceiling and light, but it wasn't the ceiling and light she knew and rememberd. This one was different, and moving very slowly. Why was the ceiling moving ?! She looked around her and she wasn't even in her own bed. She was in the air ! What was going on here?
In all the confusion she started looking around really fast. She was in a bookstore or library, floating in the air. She never knew she could teleport. Was this a new power of some sort, very weird and all. She looked at her hand and it was all foggy and not her hand at all. It scared her and she let out a high pitched Eep. At that moment her hand became "normal" again and she fell down to the ground with a bonk on her butt. Her butt hurt now and she rubbed it as she tried to get up. But then she turned into the see-through fassion as she was before. Was she dead?! How could she be dead. She paniced and tried to move to the door but it didn't work very well.
Luckely for her there was a fan nearby that turned a 90 degrees corner every once in a while. It passed by every now and then blowing the ghost Cailyn to the door closer and closer. This was going to take forever. She then remember how to swim. She tried to move through the air like it was water. It worked slighty but not very well. How was she ever going to find out if she died like this. Maybe some of the other ghosts would come and teach her, like on TV. Sadly most ghosts on TV weren't very nice though. What was she going to do. There she was floating around, being blown to a door at a speed of 0.000001 miles per hour. What a crummy way of spending time as a ghost. Atleast there where no voices telling her what to do now. One of the very convinient changes of being a ghost now.
Ghost willingly let her be dragged to the prince. Cailyn knew where he was hidding and the two dragons where seemingly to busy tearing each other apart then paying attention to the two women running away. It was a fierce battle to say the least, but Cailyn didn't pay much attention to it. More important things needed their attention. Mainly....
"Prince!"
They found him again and seemingly he was willing to leave now. He understood that now was his chance to get out of here exept that he was very stuborn. He had all these heavy coins stuffed in his pockets. That wouldn't do ofcourse. Ghost commented on them but the prince was stuborn. Cailyn had a clear thought for once. She saw it in a movie once somewhere.... sometime. "Leave the coins, or we leave you." She said in the style of a 80's antihero. No idea where she saw that but seemingly it worked. His will to live was bigger then his will to die with coins in his pockets, and he emptied his pockets. Now they where ready to go but where was the exit. "Where is the exit?" She asked both Ghost and the prince. They had to find one seeing as the way they came had two big dragons in the way.
She continued counting like nothing was going on but added something in between the count."Ok." She added between the counting. It would give her to oppertunity to double check the number of tiles by going back up the path. Though she didn't have any clue about what she signed up for in the first place. What where they going to do.
"Excuse me Cailyn. What are you counting?"
"The bricks in the road." She answered as if it was the most normal thing in the entire world. It had probably be done by somebody before but not by her. It was kind of a weird hobby doing weird things nobody else did. Well it wasn't that weird for her though. It was exactly the oposite for her. She thought it was normal and "fun".
Now the real deal was showing even though she only thought about it. Torture was the key word that struck a nerve. Torture was inhuman and not something to be passed out like soda's. Cailyn was very much against it to say the least after what her father put her through. You could say that it was a way of torture aswel. "torture is never a option." Cailyn said a bit more loudly while fitting a piece of puzzle again. "Nobody deserves that." She continued. That was her point of view about the entire torture thing. Nobody deserved to receive pain just for knowing something. There where definantly less painfull ways of extracting information from people , and one of them was sitting there finishing her puzzle.
Enough said about that, The meld woman was going down on the thrust list just a little bit. Most people here have tortured people before, even her very own hero Abyss. Or well one of the 7 have atleast tortured somebody once. In the sanctuary you could only speak your mind about it. Though she was not a hypocryt. She never tortured anybody, maybe manipulated but still it wasn't her. It was her powers taking control.
The dragon didn't take her question to lightly. He started going beserk about her wanting a bathroom break. He started yelling and stomping and all the checker pieces where flying around. This wasn't going to right way. Atleast she didn't lose to the dragon in a game of checkers, but it appeared they where going to lose the fire breathing game against her.
"Did you find the prince?"
Ghost took Cailyn's hand and asked her the question. Cailyn looked at ghost while she got up and nodded. "Back there." She said and pointed. She looked back and she caught a glimpse of the hiding prince. He sure gotten himself into trouble and now that trouble rubbed of on the both Ghost and Cailyn.
Suddenly a green dragon swooped in in front of the red one and stopped her. The green dragon just arrived in the nick of time. No fire breath coming there way ment just in the nick of time. They should take this oppertunity to get the prince and get out, even if it was rude the dragon who just saved them. Cailyn pulled ghost with her hand towards the direction of the prince. They should really get him out of there now.
There are some things that I'm sure you wouldn't want to know about people, some things that they probably wouldn't want you to know. I think I'm glad my power doesn't come with any major complications. I conceive of an improvement I want to make to myself and then I make it. Simple."
If only everything was as simple as she said. It would make everything so much easier. Control doesn't come natural to most people who gained abilities. It had to be mastered somehow. Ofcourse cailyn had some control over them but not much. It was all just random. "Wish everything was simple." She said softly. She started working on the puzzle again. A few pieces fitted there and here but there where still many to be put in. It was a very big puzzle after al.
Something meld said struck her though. Not wanting to know certain things about people. How odd, information was always usefull right? "Knowing certain things is usefull sometimes. " She just said maybe a bit late. It would come of strange but if she hadn't pulled that off yet she had to work a bit harder. Simpler as that it couldn't be, information was the keystone of this society and she was receiving it daily even if people didn't want her too.
She got the hint into the wrong direction. She didn't read, she couldn't read. Well not books atleast. Minds she didn't read also, she just knew stuff that she picked up somehow. "No no no." She said soft and slowly. "You got it all wrong." She continued. How to explain it to her. "I can't read." She said hoping this explanation would help a little bit.
How to explain something you don't understand yourself. It is a very complecated matter like this. Cailyn tilted her head back to the other side and looked at the puzzle. She fitted in another piece and said: "I just know things." That would have been the most direct and most easy way of putting down her power. Just knowing things was the only real explenation she could give. "Reading people would be strange, wouldn't it. " She added and fitted another puzzle piece. Yup that would explain most of it though. There hasn't been any mention of what she could really do though. Planting sugestions and things into peoples head would be a very scary thought for the average person, even though the goverment did almost the same everyday.
"What are your powers if you don't mind my asking?"
The million dollar question. What powers did she have. That question popped into the minds of all the people she ever encountered in her life. Well the people who didn't know yet. Most of the people who knew avoided her exept for the big red man. He was fun. Never the less, the knowledge of her powers should be shared at the sanctuary. They should know what they where getting themselved into. She fitted a piece in and said: "You do mind asking." "your just not aware of it that much." Dropping the small hint of her powers.
They should figure out for themselves though what to think of her powers. She didn't know herself what the full extend of her powers where or the correct name for it. She just let that be thought up by the people who got the hint. Atleast she didn't shoot laser beam or something with this kind of control she had over her powers. That would be messy. Those type of thoughts kept her motivated. Some people always had it worse, and she was lucky somehow. Still she didn't have much control and the whispers ran through her head like little squirels looking for nuts. But she had gotten used to it, in her own unstable mental state kind of way.
Cailyn totally mistook that as eye. "Very good." She said and patted the young man who was obviously stumped out of his mind that he had the correct answer. Strangly enough this Aurum person was pretty good at riddles as wel. A worthy opponent sort of speak. To bad that in a game of checkers or chess or any other game for that matter Cailyn always won. Just because she knew what the opponents plan was. That and the whispers making her game pretty radical for people to understand.
She pondered for a while and said: "As I went across the bridge, I met a man with a load of wood which was neither straight nor crooked. What kind of wood was it? " She turned her head towards aurum and looked at him for the answer. These types of riddles where fun aswel. They weren't the what am i kind but the story type of riddles. This was going to be a interresting riddle battle between to the two of them. How long will both of them hold up against each other. Or how long will it take for one of them to go home for some reason.
