The X-men run missions and work together with the NYPD, striving to maintain a peaceful balance between humans and mutants. When it comes to a fight, they won't back down from protecting those who need their help.
Haven presents itself as a humanitarian organization for activists, leaders, and high society, yet mutants are the secret leaders working to protect and serve their kind. Behind the scenes they bring their goals into reality.
From the time when mutants became known to the world, SUPER was founded as a black-ops division of the CIA in an attempt to classify, observe, and learn more about this new and rising threat.
The Syndicate works to help bring mutantkind to the forefront of the world. They work from the shadows, a beacon of hope for mutants, but a bane to mankind. With their guiding hand, humanity will finally find extinction.
Since the existence of mutants was first revealed in the nineties, the world has become a changed place. Whether they're genetic misfits or the next stage in humanity's evolution, there's no denying their growing numbers, especially in hubs like New York City. The NYPD has a division devoted to mutant related crimes. Super-powered vigilantes help to maintain the peace. Those who style themselves as Homo Superior work to tear society apart for rebuilding in their own image.

They question that was raised wasn't a fun one for Cailyn. She didn't even know if she could explain it herself what her father did to her. She started to mumble and ponder what to say and what not. Who knows maybe he was keeping a eye on her and this was a test to see if she was bad or not but if her time at the sanctuary didn't teach her to talk what was on her mind then nothing could teach her that. "My daddy locked me up because i was dangerous." She said to herself and to the Catlady. She hoped that she didn't scare her off or anything because she liked her fluffyness
"Oh, so you're some sort of mind manipulator or something? Or maybe a mind reader? The girl kept asking questions about her. Cailyn found it very scary to talk about that kind of stuff. She wanted to explain what she did to people in their minds but she couldn't even explain it herself. "I show things." She simply said. She couldn't bring it any better then that.
"Well, I do some form of manipulations of my own, so you're not alone out there. Though I don't really mess with peoples' minds. I can manipulate their skeletons, though I prefer to use my own. A lot of people are scared of that, since I'm not exactly the nicest person around, but I like what I can do."
Cailyn gasped. Skeleton manipulator sounded like something from a cartoon to her, one with dancing skeletons that told jokes and stuff. She remembered a cartoon and she Asked: "You make the skeleton's dance on tv? " It suddenly hit her. That girl liked what she could do while cailyn did not. She got a bit gloomy and said: "I don't like mine, they are bad."
"Yes yes, Abyss" She said really happy. She knew the red man that she liked allot. She started depicting the big red man by standing on her toe's and making herself very big with her arms wagling around. "And he went all pow with the other red men and took me into a bus and saved me from my dad." She explained.
She nodded. It felt good to talk about everything she had been through lately even though she was a stranger. "And he was warm too." She added to the explaination. He carried her on her shoulder when they escaped and it was cold so she found him very warm. "Do you like mister bubbles?" She asked.
"So what exactly are these 'bad' things that you do? I doubt it's really as bad as you say it is."
She shook her head. Whisper talked to her warning about what she asked and what she would do to her if she knew. They told her that if she would tell her what she could do she would dislike her like everyone else did so far. She rubbed her head a bit and said: "please don't be scared of me." and she pulled a sad face. She didn't want to scare her off, specialy not when she talked to her all normal. She decided to take the risk and flatout tell her. "I do things to your mind." She said hoping she wouldn't be scared of her.
"I thought about being with them a while ago." She shrugged. "I decided that I don't share all of their beliefs. and I like my solitude."
She didn't answer immediatly because she saw something allot more interresting. The tail returned and this time it was waging itself around. Cailyn couldn't resist and had to look at it. Her eyes followed the tail and the whispers told her to stop staring because it was a bad thing and she simple said: "But its nice." Commenting on both the tail and the whispers. She then shook her head a bit little bit and answered to the catwoman. "But they freed me from the bad guards room." She told her. "The big red men was nice." She continued as she made the arm motions to picture the big red man.
"So 'they' were not really physical people. 'They're more like bodiless voices that only you can hear,"
That was confusing. She always thought of the voices as people that talked to her in her mind. She shook her head and said: "They only talk to me because i listen." She explained. That was the logical explaination that she had made up for herself a long time ago.
"Well since you're living here I'm guessing that you're a mutant, right? What exactly is it that you can do?"
What did she do. The people at the asylum always spoke of her being evil and bad. Thinking about it made her sad. She got all gloomy at that question and simple answered : "I do bad things." She never really talked about what she did and she didn't know what it was either. She just did things to people and she couldn't explain it.
She was being led by the two to the dorms of the school. She didn't know what to expect. Would it be a room full of books and a compfy chair or would it be like a hotel room with only a bed and a tv.
"Here's one. No one's currently living in this room but this is what they look like."
Cailyn looked around. A pretty standard room nothing fancy. She didn't have enough clothes to fill two closets so she would be fine with the closet space. It looked cosy to her. She liked it. "Would you be opposed to having a roommate if you do stay?" she asked the woman. "Lately the students have been doubling up, and some even having three in a room. Some of the teachers have paired up as well, to make room for others."
A roommate, she never had one before. She pondered the thought of having one. She didn't mind but she read minds kind of and her roommate needed to be informed on that and confortable to say to least. "I don't mind but i pasively pick out a thought or information every now and then, so that person has to be comfortable with it." She explained. She didn't even consider if it was a boy or a girl roommate that she was getting.
Cailyn didn't pay to much attention to what the cat woman said to her. She saw her tail again and she was mesmerized by its appearence. It looked so much fun to have a tail and to play with it. She shook it of her as she couldn't see the tail anymore. "Huh, uh no i don't think so." She replied a bit confused. She didn't have her own city but most she was at a place where only mutants came. "Why aren't you with the rest in the sactuary." She said a bit softly trying not to offend her.
“Well it is rude to walk up and start touching people without being asked to, or without permission. It’s a little… Surprising to most people, I guess.”
Her face turned red like a traffic light. She bowed and quickly said: "Sorry." again. She didn't want to offend the kitty person because well kitty persons where cool. Cailyn couldn't resist the urge to ask her what it was like to be a kitty person and if there where more of her. "What's it like to be a kitty person? do you have your own city." She blurted out again with a face like a tomato. She gotten into other akward situations before bit this time her curiousity ran amok in her head.
"Not all at once kid. But you can't go around everyday wearing the same dress. Especially not if you're going to be hanging around the Sanctuary." She thought for a moment. "Pretend they are new toys, with a new one to play with every day."
Cailyn didn't have allot of toys. She had her daily puzzles and her pillow but never really normal toys. Clothes as toys sounded silly but if they could be toys it sounded fun to her. She simply nodded in response.
"Try these one first, so we can figure out what size y'are."
She got a few of the same dresses shoved into her hand and she was lead into the changing room. The curtain closed and Cailyn got a bit confused. She never wore a dress before. She first pulled of her shoes and pants and then her shirt. She then slipped into the first dress. It was to big and it sorta fell of her. She tried dress number 2 and it was to small she couldn't fit into it. She tried dress 3 and it fit. 3 was the charm seemingly. She got dressed and walked out of the changing room with a face as red as a tomato. She put her hands together and fiddled with her fingers out of nervousness.
The one million dollar question. Cailyn didn't even have any experience with a romantic relationsship let alone that she was married. "No, no." She answered a bit with a smirk. "I've been so busy that i didn't have time for something like that." She continued. It sounded more like a excuse to herself then to the others because she really didn't have the time to ever wrap her head around it.
"Most of our residents live on campus. Not that you have to, mind you. But the rooms are available if so needed." She turned to Streak. "Can we go show Cailyn what they look like?" Then back to Cailyn, "this way you'll also get an idea of how the students live."
Ah yes her new students. She wondered if they where going to like her the way she was. If not a little nod into the right direction wouldn't help. She turned to Neena and simply said: "I would like that." with a smile on her face.
Cailyn thought it over again. In her mind cats where the fun and soft animals you see on tv. She had no idea what cats could do to people when there angry and seeing as she stood against a human sized cat it could be dangerous for her. She simply nodded and said: "Uh huh."
“Huhh… That’s alright. I guess I don’t mind.”
"You don't?" she blurted out again. Her father always thought her that touching people without permission wasn't a very good idea. The guards where a perfect example of that. "They always said i couldn't touch without permission." she said to the person a bit shyly with a blush on her face.
“Well that sort of makes two of us.” Sara replied. “I’ve never met anyone interested in meeting a kitty girl before.”
This made Cailyn wonder. Why wouldn't anybody like kitty people. Weren't cats fun animals. "Why don't people like kitty people?" She blurted out. Was she one of the few people who did was a question that was raised in Cailyns head. "You are all fluffy and soft." She said as she looked at the cat persons hand and petted it. Then she reminded herself that it wasn't nice to do that and she pulled her hand away and blushed. "Sorry, i'm being rude." she said.
Making her think about who they where made Cailyn's head explode. It gave her headaches trying to figure it out so she found it best to let that subject rest for the time being. "I don't know, they won't let me find out." She replied and nodded.\ "We're the only two people in here right now, and I didn't hear anyone calling you stupid. I don't know if you mean someone that isn't here at the moment or not, but I didn't hear anything like that said."
This made her question if "they" where even here. They spoke to her but they only speak to her. She fiddled with her spoon a bit because she felt a bit ashamed and she blushed a bit. "They only talk to me." she replied slowly with her head looking downwards.
"Well, I'm Isabel. And who says your name is Cailyn? Is that your real name, or just something someone calls you? What do you call yourself?"
"Hello isabel." she said. She had no clue what she called herself. They mostly said that her name was Cailyn and her father called her that so she thought that Cailyn was her name. She didn't quiet understand what she ment. "But my name is Cailyn." she responded a bit confused.
"That would be wonderful!" Neena, possibly unexpectedly, laughed and nodded. "Oh, if you could find and give a clue what's going on in an out-of-control mutant mind, that would be beyond helpful."
"If only it worked that way." She replied with a faint smile. She really didn't have any "activated" mind reading abilities let alone that she could completly know what went on in somebody's mind.
"That actually reminds me, have you ever been infected by Haywire? The reason I ask is that, obviously, every now and then a resident or few catches it." "Anyone who lives or works here needs to be aware of that. There is a Haywire-specific Infirmary on the grounds, that keeps sick ones quarantined until they recover."
She pondered about it for a while. Not that she actually knew what the virus did though she did hear about it. From what she could remember it was a mutant virus that boosted people's powers. She pondered the thought that she could have actually had it while facing her father. She decided to simple state that she had an encounter with it. "Yes, actually i have been infected." It made her sound like she was something dirty. She never liked the sound of the word infected. "I guess i will find this infirmary if i get the job then." She shortly added to state that she was willing to cooperate with the rules of the school.
