The X-men run missions and work together with the NYPD, striving to maintain a peaceful balance between humans and mutants. When it comes to a fight, they won't back down from protecting those who need their help.
Haven presents itself as a humanitarian organization for activists, leaders, and high society, yet mutants are the secret leaders working to protect and serve their kind. Behind the scenes they bring their goals into reality.
From the time when mutants became known to the world, SUPER was founded as a black-ops division of the CIA in an attempt to classify, observe, and learn more about this new and rising threat.
The Syndicate works to help bring mutantkind to the forefront of the world. They work from the shadows, a beacon of hope for mutants, but a bane to mankind. With their guiding hand, humanity will finally find extinction.
Since the existence of mutants was first revealed in the nineties, the world has become a changed place. Whether they're genetic misfits or the next stage in humanity's evolution, there's no denying their growing numbers, especially in hubs like New York City. The NYPD has a division devoted to mutant related crimes. Super-powered vigilantes help to maintain the peace. Those who style themselves as Homo Superior work to tear society apart for rebuilding in their own image.

As the water soaked Locke, Evelyn momentarily considered whether it had been the right course of action. In the end, she decided since she had no powers, anything she could use in her defense was fair, especially when this was training and nothing that could cause lasting damage. Locke didn't seem happy though, and as she turned off the water, she wondered if she should at least feel sheepish.
Looking at the remains of the muddy monster and her dirty clothing, she decided she didn't feel entirely regretful. Evelyn was all for fair play. If she had to stand in the mud, Locke had to at least suffer as well. At least that was her thought pattern.
"I think I prefer the danger room." Evelyn finally remarked, wondering if she would ever be forced to defend herself against danger with a hose in the future. She doubted it.

You have to send it to the mod-mail e-mail to get approved first. If you look at the New Member's tab at the top of the screen, the rules will have all the instructions on how to do that : )

I am always willing to try a thread and just see how it goes. if you post somewhere I can try responding. Either the alley composing or something would work for me. I can usually find some way to make it reasonable he would be there.
As Evelyn listened, the echoes tried to pinpoint the movement in the tunnels. They were quite certain that the roar was Sylar's, yet Evelyn was still cautious, staying close to the exit just in case. For once, she was maintaining a sense of caution, remembering how disastrous her last trip down here had gone. Then again, almost any adventure down here seemed to have taken some unfortunate turn... Shaking it off, she finally heard movement, and jumped slightly at Sylar's voice.
For being hard to sneak up on, she was feeling unnaturally jumpy tonight. "Maybe detectives have more lives than cats. Sherlock seemed to get into enough trouble and he was fine." She said with a slight smile in response. Making light of her own attraction to danger always felt better than dealing with the guilt of being so unnaturally unlucky. Or maybe unlucky was the wrong term for it, since she tended to find the trouble on her own.
She glanced at Sylar, and noted the changes that had taken place. The 'growth' of the armor was hard for her to really process emotionally. What could she say to her friend? She knew his fears in regards to the monstrous side of him, and the echoes could see the struggles he faced trying to hold onto the humanity he was gradually loosing. She tried to give a smile but it faltered. "It sounded like you were having a rough day. I know you probably don't need anyone checking up on you, but I heard... You doing okay with it?" She was bad at this small talk type stuff. She wished Serena or someone else was here. She shuffled awkwardly, trying not to stare at him.

The echoes were perceptive, even if Evelyn herself perhaps wasn't. The invitation to sit was evident, and she paused, reading Kate's body language to see if it was genuine. The other girl didn't seem bothered much by Evelyn's intrusion, which was a relief at least. Evelyn slowly ventured forward and sat for a moment, fiddling with the clipboard.
"I'm afraid I'm not super talented at the whole 'getting to know you' sort of thing. I should warn you now... The echoes have a habit of.. finding things out on their own." Evelyn admitted. Lately she'd been more forthcoming about her powers, as if to soften the eventual blow they created when they invaded privacy. Not that they hadn't already made a mess of things with Kate, but the situation seemed salvageable.
The museum was quiet, and Evelyn didn't hear many patrons nearby, so the break was welcome, at least for the moment. She was still on the clock, but with all the chaos and overtime, her boss would be hard pressed to punish her when she was one of the few workers sticking around.

Evelyn told the echoes to remember to add rules about no powers next time she set up a scavenger hunt. But the note was half-hearted considering how long she would have had to wait. She may or may not have been getting impatient, and the food was all ready; no use letting it get cold.
"You get away with it...this time." She decided kissing him on the cheek before waving towards the table. "End result is the same though... Happy Valentine's Day!" She said somewhat awkwardly. She was better at the planning part, not the actual executing aspect... Her social skills could still use some work.

It was a late night at work, and Evelyn was exhausted by the time she stepped out onto the dimly lit street. It felt like life had been almost robotic lately. Work, go home, work some more. Without her parents constant support, Evelyn was feeling more pressed to come up with money to supply her basic needs. Sure, food and shelter was taken care of, but things like clothes and hygiene products didn't just buy themselves. She knew the mansion could probably help out if she needed it, but it already wounded her pride to live there. It was a struggle being on her own, but she was hungry for the desire to be independent.
With her budget tight, Evelyn had resisted calling for a cab. Instead, she called in a favor, and was waiting around for Jensen to give her a ride home. He couldn't make it right away, however, so she opted to walking back to her apartment to wait there. Even the short walk felt draining, and Evelyn's mind was buzzing with an unusual amount of activity.
Little did Evelyn know, underfoot her sewer monster friend's mutation was entering a new stage, while her own was slowly taking a turn. After one too many head injuries, the information in her mind was becoming hard to control, desperate for an outlet, an escape. The noise was deafening, the clamor almost tuning out the roar she heard through one of the manholes.
[Sylar.] The echoes announced, and Evelyn froze, torn in two different directions. He sounded like he was in pain, but she had promised Mirror she wouldn't go wandering around in the sewers again. This was her friend though. Surely the mirror walker would understand?
Pressing aside her doubts, she yanked the heavy covering away and started down into the tunnels. Cautiously touching one of the walls, she called into the darkness. "Sylar? Is that you?"
When you grew up with echoes like Evelyn did, surprises were hard to come by. Any suspicious movement brought a clamor of warnings, and Evelyn was perhaps too comfortable relying on their guidance. There was nothing that could have prepared the echoes for being snuck up on by a mirror-walker, and the soundless almost invisible appearance behind her went unnoticed while Evelyn tried to make sure everything was in place.
Then Mirror spoke, and Evelyn let out a screech of surprise that rattled through the empty museum as she scrambled sideways, heart thundering in her chest. The echoes rattled in her head incoherently as her pulse spiked and tried to calm again.
".....cheater." Was all she managed to squeak before swatting at Gawain.

So I'm going to be around less and less for the next month or so. To be honest, MRO is the only RP I am still on at this point in time because I really just don't have the time to role play. School is getting crazy, getting ready for graduation, trying to take care of stuff for my book website, marketing, you name it. I have two really big shows coming up in April I have to prepare for, plus I've been taking on odd jobs when I can because now we're saving up to try and get a house.
I'm sorry if I'm slow on anyone's thread, just trying to prioritize where I post to keep plots going that need to keep going, ect. But don't feel bad bugging me if you need a post, regardless of me being busy. Honestly, my brain is fizzled to the point I may accidentally forget somewhere from time to time, so nudges aren't a bad thing. If you don't have my IM, nudge around. I'd post it but I actually don't remember what IM name goes with what IM. Problem with Trillain, I never log into individual accounts anymore >.>

Frickin mud. Evelyn was hating this day more and more. While Evelyn liked looking nice, she wasn't too adverse to getting dirty. She played with paints. Paints were messy. But this was just annoying and frustrating all together. She didn't like the way the mud felt against her feet, and she didn't like how much more difficult it made it to move.
As the bubble burst, so did Evelyn's patience. Pressing her thumb against the water stream so it turned into a jet of water, she spun the hose, and pointed it at Locke.
It was clear she chose a new target. Fluffy was the least of her problems right now.

Evelyn knew exactly when she met Serena. It was as hard to forget a date as it was to forget a face, and the encounter streamed through her mind with the buzz of the playback. For a moment, it felt like her vision was intruded by the images, although they were all just in her head. She managed to smile as she faced the girl. Somehow, it seemed her sleep habits hadn't gotten any better.
"How are you Serena?" Evelyn said politely. She paused, hips still tilted towards the Danger Room for a moment, wondering if this was just a passing hello or if this was the start of a conversation.
