The X-men run missions and work together with the NYPD, striving to maintain a peaceful balance between humans and mutants. When it comes to a fight, they won't back down from protecting those who need their help.
Haven presents itself as a humanitarian organization for activists, leaders, and high society, yet mutants are the secret leaders working to protect and serve their kind. Behind the scenes they bring their goals into reality.
From the time when mutants became known to the world, SUPER was founded as a black-ops division of the CIA in an attempt to classify, observe, and learn more about this new and rising threat.
The Syndicate works to help bring mutantkind to the forefront of the world. They work from the shadows, a beacon of hope for mutants, but a bane to mankind. With their guiding hand, humanity will finally find extinction.
Since the existence of mutants was first revealed in the nineties, the world has become a changed place. Whether they're genetic misfits or the next stage in humanity's evolution, there's no denying their growing numbers, especially in hubs like New York City. The NYPD has a division devoted to mutant related crimes. Super-powered vigilantes help to maintain the peace. Those who style themselves as Homo Superior work to tear society apart for rebuilding in their own image.

Hi guys, I'm sneaking away for a few days for a Ren Faire. Will try to check in but the only internet is on my phone so really hard to post anything/talk at all.
The clamor inside Evelyn's head was starting to become too much. The echoes could feel something was wrong. Or maybe she could sense something was wrong? Either way, the voices weren't in sync. It was like they knew whatever they were feeling wasn't real, wasn't right. What were they seeing? It was worse than when the danger room electrocuted her. Rebooting was better than sitting with the echoes sputtering like this.
[Danger. Run. Run. Danger. Inner monster showing. Evade.] At the same time, she could have sworn she heard [concern] in Sylar's voice.
Are you alright?
"Actually, I'm not sure I'm feeling too great..." Evelyn said, as the tremors of fear got worse, and the chaos in her head grew louder. She stumbled slightly as a wave of dizziness hit, falling forward and reaching out to catch herself. As her hand touched Sylar's arm, the fear jolted...
And, something else happened.
For Sylar, it would be like a radio was suddenly turned on. All of the echoes and information in Evelyn's head would funnel through the contact. Mingled with the echoes would be flickers of memories as the playbacks rushed forward. Sylar chasing her in the tunnels, hungry, angry... The fear tapped into her memories, and tugged the thoughts forward, reminding her there was something to be afraid of.

While Evelyn was comforted that Sylar found a friend, something in his words sounded... off. The echoes picked up on it, humming about the slight untruths taking place. She frowned slightly, but let it go for the time being. She wasn't sure she should trust this 'Roach', but she wanted to believe someone could actually help Sylar. He needed advice and aid, especially when he was dealing with his inner monster. Evelyn couldn't exactly relate to that, as much as she wanted to.
The echoes were slowly starting to pick up on something else though... It was a hazy feeling, but the more she looked at Sylar, the more a chill ran up her spine. Her pulse was starting to pick up speed a little, and she almost felt...
Afraid?
She had no reason to be afraid of Sylar. He was in a good mood and they were just talking. She brushed it off again, convinced the fear was just nervous energy since her last fiasco here in the sewers. She glanced down the tunnels, trying to prove to herself nothing was there. But the energy kept directing her glances back towards Sylar. When she looked at him, the fear rose.
What was happening?
"How's everyone been?"
Evelyn shook her head and focused on the question. "Good, for the most part. I know Serena was having some stuff happening with her powers, we ran into each other the other day, but she seems to be doing better lately..." The echoes were chiming louder now. [Run! Run!] But for the first time, she was second guessing them. Why? Why did she want to run? It didn't make sense...The feelings were almost dizzying now. As much as she wanted to fight it, she felt afraid.

Evelyn laughed at the idea of playing hide and seek in here. While it was appealing, it would be pretty easy to evade if she had a head start. She had access to plenty of mirror-less corridors, and she wasn't afraid of the dark or gloomy sections of the museum. For fairness sake, it would be best to be avoided.
She considered Mirror's suggestion though and took a sip of her drink as she mused over it. "My favorite? Isn't that like choosing a favorite kid or something?" She remarked with mock shock. While she adored the museum, there were areas that she did like better than others. After half the museum came alive, there were certainly painting she disliked as well.
"I guess we could try that. Although it doesn't seem like much of a Valentine's Day date. Just me showing you around a boring art museum." She said, feeling like that would appeal more to her than Gawain.

Evelyn frowned slightly, his remark hurting her pride. Not that she wanted to admit it to him, but any attack on her intelligence was rather personal. Without wanting to, the defense shot out of her mouth. "If I came armed, it wouldn't have gone as well as it did. Saying you come in peace means nothing if you're wielding a weapon." She remarked sullenly.
Still, her fingers itched for the weapons, and she tried not to jump as a pair appeared in her hands. It was nice to know this 'danger room' had the same capabilities as the other ones, at least. She was about to relax when the bolt of energy smacked her in the face, and she yelped and jumped backwards. She glared at him.
"I still don't see how this is supposed to help you..." She muttered grumpily, and circled around him, looking for an opportunity to strike. She moved much more confidently than last time they practiced, but she still doubted she was any match for him especially when he involved his powers. A stab, a parry and a quick backwards jump got her in to attack and out again before he could hopefully retaliate.
The echoes were flickering with warning in her head, and she wished she had listened to them earlier.

While WereCat had been joking when she asked Evelyn the question, she couldn't stop the echoes from robotic-ally answering. She started to roll her eyes before she realized that she was rolling her eyes at a voice no one else could hear. Hiding it by brushing her hair from her face, she tried to maintain her tough, vigilante stance.
Right....
"Gather them in the freezer if you can, I'll grab something to tie them up with." Evelyn said, and went towards the limited hardware section of the store. There were things like jumper cables and some bungee cord, as well as some wimpy looking zip ties. She grabbed an assortment of anything ropelike and brought it with her. It didn't help to be a little over-prepared.

Evelyn could see the body language shifting as the dragon considered what she had said. It wasn't easy to read a dragon, but the echoes were learning quickly, much like they had with Carrick when she first saw his gryphon form. Something seemed apologetic, yet smug still in his attitude. He was apologizing, but there was still something condescending about it. Her own pride had to be swallowed, at least for the moment.
Glancing in the direction of the statue, Evelyn considered how they could get there. While he arrived by boat, the typically ferry rides were intended for much smaller passengers. "We can try to arrange something eventually. Right now it would probably be hard to get you out there. Unless you wanted to be swarmed by tourists..." She commented, hoping to play off his ego a bit. If he thought tourists were beneath him maybe he wouldn't be offended waiting. She pointed ahead of them to some of the shops closer to the waters edge.
"There is lots of shopping in this part of the city. Lots of people like to just look around and browse." Okay, that sounded dumb. She was hoping Amelia had a better plan. There was a lot of improvising on this trip.

Evelyn wanted to enjoy the flight. She really did. But something kept her knuckles clenched, skin turning almost as pale as her hair as she clung for safety. She wasn't sure she trusted Carrick, especially not in this form. She wouldn't past him to take another dive just to hear her screech.
[Purring.]
The random echo froze her fear slightly, and she lifted her head ever so slightly to peer at him. "I thought lions couldn't purr." She remarked casually. Maybe it was the wrong thing to say when she was helplessly riding his back, but the response leapt out of her mouth before she could stop it.

Evelyn was already starting to regret the idea to learn self defense. Training with Locke was looking muddy, and messy, and silly. Why train with someone who can move dirt around when all you had to work with was voices? It didn't feel fair. Spontaneous didn't enable her to fight back. The hose may have worked this time, but what else could she do?
Why didn't you hit me earlier?
Evelyn just gave him a look like he asked why she didn't just run around naked.
"Hit you with what? A pinecone?" It came out in a somewhat sarcastic tone, but the expression on her face was genuinely confused. She wasn't physically built to hit anyone, and there was a lack of real weapons out here. It all seemed silly when they added powers to the mix.

Evelyn blinked slightly as Kate asked about the echoes, and as a rush of memories from the night flashed back through her mind, she realized the exact explanation of her powers may not have come up. Flushing slightly, she looked away and rubbed the back of her neck. "Oh, the Echoes are just part of my powers. I sort of have...voices...in my head."
Dumb. Dumb dumb dumb dumb. There were better ways of describing that that didn't make her sound like a psychopath.
"Analytically voices..." This wasn't getting any better. Now she sounded like a robot. "It just helps me process things I guess. Sort of Sherlock Holmes-ish, hyper awareness."

Luck... Evelyn momentarily wondered if she had any lukc to begin with. Whatever luck she had seemed to be counteracted by her innate ability to place herself in danger. Then again, maybe she was lucky in an unlucky way... unlucky to get beat up, but lucky to live. Unlucky to get into trouble but lucky to get out of it? She shrugged, and brushed her hair from her face, trying not to look like a guilty child caught doing something she shouldn't.
"I'm sorry about the shedding..." She said empathetically. Even in the darkness she could hear the slight pain in his voice, and the echoes weren't fooled by the tough exterior Sylar tended to project. He was having trouble today, and she was somewhat glad, at least for the moment, she had come. Maybe she wasn't good with people, but she felt better at least trying to be there for him. It wasn't perfect, but it was an effort.
"I'm glad you found someone who can help.. My sort of ability dealing with voices is certainly a different type of experience..." She remarked slightly. She felt glad Sylar was having more control, but she was still a little concerned. The longer she stayed here, the longer she worried.
There was also the feeling that something else wasn't quite right... The echoes couldn't quite understand it, but they buzzed with warning. Sylar didn't seem to be in a monsterous mood tonight, so she couldn't quite understand it. But something was there... a faint concern... Almost...fear?

Evelyn couldn't help but feel somewhat pleased that the idea went over well. Even if the execution didn't turn out how it perhaps could have, Gawain seemed happy, and that was what mattered in the end.
Her brain fizzled to a halt though at the question of what else.
"I actually didn't think much further than this." She admitted sheepishly. "I came up with 'dinner at the MET' and went with that..." She sipped her drink and glanced around, wondering what else they could do. The echoes scrambled to think of something and her brain struggled to keep up with their jabbering.
Evelyn was relieved Mirror seemed to like what she did so far. His smile made the crazy planning worth it, and she chuckled slightly when he asked how she made everything happen. On cue, the echoes spun the memories through her mind, and she tuned them out as she answered.
"We're mostly allowed to be here." She smiled slightly and pushed her hair out of her face, then uncovered the food carefully. Luckily, everything was still warm even with the challenges Gawain had. "There may have been some bribery in the form of 'you owe me's cashed in. The guards know we're here. How far up the chain of command knows though....eh." She flashed a smile and the echoes relayed her boyfriend wasn't completely distressed with the idea of breaking and entering regardless.
