The X-men run missions and work together with the NYPD, striving to maintain a peaceful balance between humans and mutants. When it comes to a fight, they won't back down from protecting those who need their help.
Haven presents itself as a humanitarian organization for activists, leaders, and high society, yet mutants are the secret leaders working to protect and serve their kind. Behind the scenes they bring their goals into reality.
From the time when mutants became known to the world, SUPER was founded as a black-ops division of the CIA in an attempt to classify, observe, and learn more about this new and rising threat.
The Syndicate works to help bring mutantkind to the forefront of the world. They work from the shadows, a beacon of hope for mutants, but a bane to mankind. With their guiding hand, humanity will finally find extinction.
Since the existence of mutants was first revealed in the nineties, the world has become a changed place. Whether they're genetic misfits or the next stage in humanity's evolution, there's no denying their growing numbers, especially in hubs like New York City. The NYPD has a division devoted to mutant related crimes. Super-powered vigilantes help to maintain the peace. Those who style themselves as Homo Superior work to tear society apart for rebuilding in their own image.

The explanation made some sense. Applying like a job. Abby guessed being an X-Man was kind of like a job. "I don't think I wanna be an X-man. I just wondered." Abby wasn't really into violence. Her lessons in self-defense were more so she could protect herself when she needed to. She didn't really like that she even had to take those lessons. She'd rather there not be a need. But the little shifter was learning that it was better to be prepared than to not have any idea how to handle the situation.
So Juliette knew Papa and Sam. But not Maya. "Sam's nice. He's friends with my friend, sister, Serena. Cafas is my Papa. Maya is nice too. She's kinda my Momma. Maybe," Abby tried to explain. But how did you explain a situation you didn't even understand yourself? "Sam and Serena are helping me learn self defense," she added before stuffing her mouth with toast.
As of August 2016, MRO had a total of 34 active members with a total of 58 characters. Of these, 25 answered the survey. *cries tears of joy* That’s over half the amount of members. You guys are amazing.
The following results come from the 25 players and their 40 characters.
As tradition, RL first! Who are the lovely people who answered my survey.
In RL, MRO has 10 gals, 10 guys, 2 genderfluid individuals, one transgender individual and one who wished to be unknown.
This breaks down into:
Females playing females: 16 Males playing males: 13 Females playing males: 7 Males playing females: 5 Unknown playing males: 2
Blame your fellow cboxers for the graph colors. I asked them for colors.
As you can see, MROers have been around for various amounts of time. Though somehow no one who joined in 2011 took the survey (or exist anymore. I can’t tell you guys to be honest) 2010 is our median this time around though.
I apparently need a longer time frame as 12 of us have been around longer than ten years.
Yes, Historian gets her own category. Go and count how many she has. It’s all kinds of ridiculous.
This graph was brought to you by the number 4. Which needs some love too guys.
Most of our players started with the common language of English, which includes variants from different regions. However,
Two of our survey takers started out with another language! Cantonese And Shanghainese
The Republic of Texas has fallen.
All hail the Commonwealth of Minnesota.
But we all know Merica isn't the only place we come from.
**These beautiful maps were brought to you by Ghost. Give her all the applause.
Fun fact: in the recent Mod Call Out, the most common joke topic was that of our dear Ghost. Specifically her relationships.
Proboards has a minimum age of 13. MRO’s current youngest is fifteen. Our oldest thirty-four.
Trivia. That red bar is the one person who gave me an age range instead of an actual number.
While most of our players are single, there are enough around to sympathize with you when you complain about your significant other.
Trivia. Our two Engaged players are engaged to each other. Another MRO couple can be found with one In a Relationship and one in It’s Complicated.
Another time most of our players can sympathise is finals week. As most have gone through that time themselves. We understand. It is okay to take a break for a bit. We all know no one can really leave MRO.
Truly, we understand
Most of our players have no children to claim on their taxes. Here are what the rest have to say:
will be 3 in October A Zephyr
Here on MRO we have a total of 15 skins to choose from. 12 of which are used, including one of the April Fools skins.
Rain continues to be the most used graph.
On to our Characters!
MRO has:
Males: 21 Females: 19
Look at that! Almost even!
Funnily enough, though we always make jokes about X-Men being absent, they have the same amount as Ragnarok according to the survey.
Note. That's gonna be your colors for most of the IC section. (Yes I am using Historian's last survey as a guideline. Problem?)
Trivia.Surveyor used pink for the giggles of Isabel with a pink bow.
And here's our age range
Apparently 26 is the age to be on MRO right now. 27.5% of our characters are below the age of 18.
We have quite a few who don't come from the United States of America. (35%) So let's see where our characters come from!
Of course, those of the Commonwealth mostly have characters... Not of the Commonwealth.
United Kingdom gets their own because not just England is a part of the UK. I'm not that geographically challenged.
Height!
As you can see, we still have some growing. However, at the current heights, our female average height is 5 feet 1 inch. Male average height is 5 feet 11 inches. But remember, not all of them have reached their final height!
And another height graph. This time in centimeters!
Does this satisfy your hate of the customary system?
Note. If you put more than one color down, I counted both. For everything.
The Vampire category includes all those who wrote "white" as a skin color.
Last survey had a mascot of brown-eyes, white dragon. This year, I'd say our mascot is:
While not everyone gave their skin colors or height or location (which were all optional), everyone gave me their sexual orientation.
These results are from a completely voluntary survey from July 28th to August 10th. Some of the questions were necessary for making sure there was enough data. Some responses were not included in the final results.
Special Thanks to the Mods for putting my survey in an announcement so the whole site had a chance to take it instead of me just forcing down the collective throats of the cbox!
Super Special Thanks:
to Ghost for dealing with me asking for pictures
to Panu for dealing with all my questions about how she did the surveys

Abby was happy Maya didn't let go. The further they went in the store, the scarier it seemed. It helped knowing they had "back-up" with Isabel behind them. If the lady tried anything, Isabel would stop her. Hopefully. Maya trusted her. The little shifter squeezed Maya's hand when they got to the dressing rooms. It was nice to know Maya was there for her. Even if it was only because of Cafas.
"We will just be in here. Momma don't worry. You can stay as close as you need. Nobody's getting naked, but I do have to measure."
Naked?! Abby sent a quick panicked look to Maya before the door shut her in the dressing room with the perky lady.
"Alright, hun. Arms straight out, like a 'T'" Abby did as instructed, lifting her arms so the measuring tape could wrap around the middle of her rib cage. Once the lady had the first number, she moved the tap up a bit to get another measurement. "Breathe, hun. I can't get a good measure if you're sucking your tongue into your head," the lady told her. Abby took in a breath, though she wasn't sure what the last part of the lady's statement meant.
"Alright, I've got your measure," she stated as the yellow tape fell away from her body. "Now your mom said you'd need some other considerations..."
She ignored the 'mom' comment. There wasn't much point in fighting it when she looked a lot like Maya. It was an easy mistake and hopefully she'd never see this woman again for her to really need to know that. "I'm a shifter. Aquatic." She didn't want to say shark as thought would probably make the lady scared. But she still needed to get one she could swim with. Maybe.
The saleslady just nodded. "So one that works in water. Probably don't want underwire. You're one of the small ones right now, but you'll grow. Probably a t-back instead of regular straps. Better support without the wire." The lady kept going with different things Abby would need or not need as she opened the door. It seemed like she was making a list for Abby's needs.
"Alright Momma. She's gonna be a twenty-eight double A. I've got a few more questions that you'll need to answer," she moved away from Abby and towards Isabel and Maya. Abby let a little sigh of relief at not being near the lady anymore.

Abby leaned into Serena's hug a little. She was getting a lot of hugs lately. It was nice. She couldn't remember the last time Aunt Teresa hadn't been stiff when giving her a hug. Uncle Henry would pat her head or touch her shoulder. But it still wasn't the same. Now she was getting lots of hugs from her important people.
Serena's words were a cold comfort. The little shifter hated the way others feared her. Both those with powers and without. She hoped as she got older it would change, and it felt like it was. She was getting a lot of more friends as she got older. Hopefully the fearful looks wouldn't bother her so much as she got older too. That could be nice.
Either way, Abby now had people to stand beside her. Cafas and Serena and Maya and lots of others. She could keep finding people. Her friends would help. She leaned a little bit into Serena as she too took a drink of water. With the friends she had, she wouldn't be left alone to face things without help. Her few friends wouldn't let her. Abby was certain of that.

A book. Oh. So not a true thing. Abby watched the two adults as they discussed it. They kinda looked like they wanted to attack each other. That wasn't something Abby wanted. Amelia and the green man were both helping her. Oh, right. History. That's what they had been talking about before aliens and life and tv shows.
"Why do they call the War of 1812 the War of 1812 when it wasn't fought in just that year?" she blurted out. One of her eyes closed in a wince. Not exactly what she had been going for, but it was a question she had about history. That song about the war said "in 1814 we took a little trip" so it lasted at least two years. And anyway, they were back to the history questions. Maybe.

Abby was kind of getting used to the fast moving screen of the tablet. She sat down as Panu went after something under his pillow. She read through the list of buildings. There were a lot of business sounding names. "What will the housing be like? Will it be like apartments or boarding houses? Or will there be houses and such?" Abby thought it was a good question. People could handle being shoved together for short periods of time, but if this was to be a nation? Not so good. And if Panu was living in a business-y building, what did that mean for the rest?
"What about recreational activities?" she asked. Abby herself loved going outside. This new nation would be in Antarctica which wouldn't really allow outside time. How would that work? Looking at the same color all the time would make people cranky. At the very least. "There will need to be a lot of prep work," the blonde girl eventually stated.

>> ”No good, I can only teach more enthusiastic kids, so if you want to learn from me I’m gonna need you to be a little louder and more sure. You think you can be a little more excited?”
Abby flinched a little. She wasn't sure if he was being serious or not. But it really didn't matter. The little blonde wasn't really loud with people she just met. Serena was easier to talk to. Maybe she should have just waited until her friend introduced her to Sam.
>> ”and I like to think I’m never to busy to teach, I enjoy it too much. So, want to learn something?”
Oh. So teasing. She still let out a breath though. She turned and followed after him, wondering where he was going. Bet to just ask. "Where are we going?"

Abby nodded at the woman's answer. When she thought about it, the little blonde knew quite a few of the team. Huh. That was a weird thought. Abby knew superheroes.
"Mm, cool. So you know Sam? Or maybe Cafas or Maya," she frowned a bit. She didn't actually know how the team got new people. Serena seemed like a good choice, but Abby doubted her friend wanted to fight like Sam and Cafas seemed to. Though Maya didn't really seem like Cafas or Sam either. Huh... "How do you get to be an X-man?" she asked aloud before taking a bite of eggs.

>> "No, you don't have to leave, sweetie. You just need to tell me, or at least someone, in the future. Asking first wouldn't hurt either. It's dangerous to go off on your own like that."
Abby's eyes widened. She didn't have to leave? Cafas wasn't telling her she couldn't be here anymore. She just had to make sure to tell someone next time. She shot forward to hug Cafas, happy to know she still had a home. "I meant to," she admitted, though it was a little muffled. "Panu just surprised me and I forgot."
>> "So, I hear you were with Mr Jaager's son. You guys have a sleep over?"
The little blonde hummed in agreement. "Kirsi was there too. We had lot's of fun. Panu wanted help with the Utopia plans." She was slow to explain her night with her friends. "Panu's room is full of lots neat technology. I didn't know some of those things existed."

Abby smiled a little as Juliette took some bacon. It made a warm feeling in her belly when people ate her food. It was nice.
>>"So what are you doing up so early in the morning, Abby?"
The little blonde shrugged. "I don't like the crowd at mealtimes. I usually eat breakfast before and dinner after the usual times. Are you a new teacher?" Abby was still trying to figure out the teacher thing. Sometimes they wanted to be called by their last name, sometimes they never gave her their last name, sometimes they went by nicknames. She tried to call adults by whatever they told her to. Cafas was a little different, since the Papa thing.

Those were tough. The dad leaving and Silver's change of heart. Abby took another bite of cereal as she thought about her answers. Her Daddy's answer to her the first time she asked would probably work. "Daddy told me that Jim's father left because he knew he wouldn't be a good father. Jim's mom was too sad to stop him and Jim didn't understand until later what happened." That was the gist of what her father had told her.
Silver was a little different. Abby frowned as she thought about it. "Silver ended up seeing Jim as a son, which is why he tried to be nice even though he wasn't really. Silver didn't want to hurt Jim anymore so he tried to help. At least, that's how I understood it."

Juliette. Huh. Abby wondered if she had heard of the woman before. Probably. Abby heard a lot by being quiet. But she was in the Mansion. Cafas, Maya, Sam, Serena and all the other adults wouldn't let someone they didn't trust in the school. She probably would've had to get past Lori too. Lori was kinda scary.
"I'm Abby. Want some?" she offered. There was plenty. Abby knew she couldn't eat it all. She rarely did. "I always make more than I can eat." The woman, Juliette, had her own breakfast but Abby had learned manners from her Mommy and it was something she kept up with after she died.

Abby kinda ignored the banter between the two adults. Amelia didn't seem to like the green man, but Abby thought he was cool. Then he answered one of her questions. Well more than one, but tv show!
Wild Thornberrys. Abby mouthed that to herself. She would look it up later. The show sounded fun.
>>"I don't know the secret of life. I'm sure it varies for everyone. But what I can tell you, is that you live a better life if you do the things you love. So this-"
She blinked as the green man took her book.
>>"Really won't accomplish that."
The little blonde tilted her head. "I thought the answer to life was forty-two. Is that wrong?" She had heard that from a few older boys talking about it before. Though she wasn't too sure about it. This was a perfect time to ask though. She had two adults here with two different opinions which would help her see different sides.

Abby giggled at Adder's description of the "drunk chihuahua." She really needed to find out who he was talking about. The drunk thing would probably help most. Drinking alcohol laced coffee sounded like something others would talk about.
>>"Not all of it made sense. A lot of it was really weird. But... It wasn't bad. I don't... exactly watch movies much."
Abby frowned a bit. He didn't watch movies much? There was a standing movie night in the main rec room that had an ongoing list of movies they watched. But if Adder didn't like people messing with his ears and tail, and sensitive hearing in crowded places... Okay, Abby could see why he didn't go to the movie nights.
>>"Did you like it?"
"Mhmm," Abby hummed. "I used to watch it with my Daddy. It was one of his favorite movies and I like to watch it when I miss him." She thought about the movie, trying to see where Adder could have been lost. "Daddy liked the idea of aliens and things like that. What was the weirdest part to you?" She took another bite of her breakfast to keep herself from talking more. She had that problem and she wanted to get to know her wolf friend better. Especially since she know knew what he looked like when not shifted.
