The X-men run missions and work together with the NYPD, striving to maintain a peaceful balance between humans and mutants. When it comes to a fight, they won't back down from protecting those who need their help.
Haven presents itself as a humanitarian organization for activists, leaders, and high society, yet mutants are the secret leaders working to protect and serve their kind. Behind the scenes they bring their goals into reality.
From the time when mutants became known to the world, SUPER was founded as a black-ops division of the CIA in an attempt to classify, observe, and learn more about this new and rising threat.
The Syndicate works to help bring mutantkind to the forefront of the world. They work from the shadows, a beacon of hope for mutants, but a bane to mankind. With their guiding hand, humanity will finally find extinction.
Since the existence of mutants was first revealed in the nineties, the world has become a changed place. Whether they're genetic misfits or the next stage in humanity's evolution, there's no denying their growing numbers, especially in hubs like New York City. The NYPD has a division devoted to mutant related crimes. Super-powered vigilantes help to maintain the peace. Those who style themselves as Homo Superior work to tear society apart for rebuilding in their own image.

Butterfly had gotten done talking to Melissa and was trying to now find her way back to the apartment. She had already eaten her carrots and celery and parsnips and was quite satisfied. She started walking down the street and realized that she didn't know where she was at all. She walked and walked and became more and more anxious. It was such a big city and all she was trying to do was get back to the apartment. She started to panic and became slightly disoriented. She sat down on a bench close to the sidewalk and put her head in her hands trying so hard to figure out what she was gonna do. Her brother wasn't there to help her and she couldn't go back to Melissa. She had walked so much that she had no way of being able to re-find her.
"Just great. I'm freaking lost." she said to herself. She got angry at herself and kind of scared considering the neighborhood that she was in. She started to cry a little out of anger and she tensed up from all the anxiety. She was so upset that she didn't even feel herself change into her butterfly form. Next thing she knew, she looked down and she was hovering about the bench.
"Well, might as well take advantage of this while I can." she thought. She flew around until she came to a greenhouse. She realized the door was cracked and flew in. It sure was warm She kinda liked it and decided that if she was lost, then at least she should be warm and lost. When she came in, she saw someone working. She could see that they had bright read hair and was covered in fur, white with green stripes, like a tiger. "Well, whoever they are. They sure are pretty." she thought. From the hair style, she could tell that they were female. She just decided to watch and sorta hide amongst the plants. She fluttered to a few that didn't look like they were dead yet and tried to "act" like a butterfly. Whatever that meant. As she watched, she saw the woman turn around and saw that she had a watering can. She walked over to what looked like a vegetable garden.
"Whew. Thank God she didn't come over here and drown me in water. Although these plants really do need it. At least they aren't out in the freezing cold." she thought to herself, still watching and wondering who the other person was and where in the world she was.
"Thanks. I'm still working on trying to control it." she said to Melissa. "Yeah that wouldn't be great for a shower, but at least it comes in handy for bar tending, maybe?" she smiled still walking around with her.
"Well some money is better than no money at all and I'm a great listener and can comfort people when needed." she said, smiling back at her. She hoped that she would be good at this job. She thought it might be fun and interesting. Maybe she'd be able to make it here after all on her own.
"Yeah I considered that as well, but I'm pretty sure I could do it as long as I don't have to go at it alone." And I'm pretty sure you don't want me to cook. I got cut earlier and my half brother just got a little of my blood on his finger and his whole hand went numb. I don't wanna think about what could happen if some of it was ingested by mistake. So I'd rather work with people. At least then, I'd get to meet people and if it does get dangerous, then I have a means of escaping. I can change into a butterfly, hence my name."
She continued to walk with Melissa. "Nah, I don't drive. I used to use the public transportation all the time when I was in Macon." When she mentioned lying to the drunks, Butterfly nodded her head in agreement.
"So what kinda powers do you have?" Butterfly asked, assuming that she was mutant as well. Butterfly shook her head when Melissa asked if she needed anything else and started to walk in the direction of the light bulbs before then heading to the check out.
"Oh, by the way, how's the pay? Do you make pretty good money being a bartender?" she inquired.

"Well I could definitely come, but not old enough to drink just yet. And I've never really worked before, but I was filling out job applications for anywhere that was hiring. If you think that maybe I could get a job there, I could come by and interview or you could teach me what I needed to know for the job."
She kinda liked the idea of going to a bar. At least she would get to meet new people and could make money. "So do you wanna show me where it is after we get done in here?" she asked, starting to walk around the store. She looked down at her basket and figured she was done shopping, but saw that Melissa wasn't done shopping at all. Maybe if they walked around, then she would remember what she had came in here to get. Butterfly was happy that she was meeting new people. She had met a guy who turned out to be her half brother and was attached to already and she had met another young woman in the grocery store. She had never really been called a mutant before and never really realized that she was one. She knew she was definitely different, but she was still figuring out everything with her powers and how to control them. But she definitely liked that she had found people that were like her and the word mutant is one that she was starting to really embrace. She was different and she was proud. Now, just to really understanding it. That would be the next step for her.
"You're Welcome, Melissa" she said, listening to Melissa's profession. She had never really been one to go to a bar. Even though she was 19, she had never been to a bar and being a person of her age, she kinda wanted to go to one sometime. She didn't know if her brother would go with her, but she's like to check it out. See if it might be fun to go to.
"How old do you have to be to get in? And what's it like? I've never been to a bar and haven't been in the city long enough to really have a job just yet. I'm from Macon, Ga." she said to Melissa.

Butterfly was still looking when she heard someone speak. She turned her head and saw a woman, not too far from her in the produce section, holding up a parsnip and she had heard her ask what it was.
Butterfly walked over to where she was and grabbed a few from the section and placed them in her basket. "They are a root vegetable related to carrots, but they are sweeter and slightly spicy. Thanks for finding them for me. I've been looking all over the produce section for them. Most supermarkets that I've gone to before either don't have them or get them confused and put them as a different type of carrot."
"I'm Butterfly. Chloe's my actual name, but I like Butterfly so much better. I'm kinda new to New York City. And you are?"

Butterfly woke up in the apartment that Ty had shown her. He was gone, but he said that he would be back and she kept focusing on that promise to keep herself from crying. She didn't want him to leave, but he had to go check on his girlfriend. He'll be back. She hoped.
Once she woke up a bit, she thought to herself "I'm hungry. And Ty didn't show me where a market was earlier. Oh well. Guess I'll just have to find one myself. Maybe I can find the apartment when I get done"
She walked out of the building and looked around. She thought she could see a few buildings that were really lit up. That's where she headed. It looked like that's where all of the city's shops and businesses were anyway. She kept walking until she got to all the buildings and lights. She was astounded by the size of the area. She just decided to pick somewhere and start there. The first building she past was a huge shopping mall. "Nope." she said to herself. The next one she past was a little boutique that sold clothes and other knickknacks for decorating a home. "Definitely not gonna find food there." she said. She rubbed her stomach and heard it growl at her. She kept walking past building and building, she was starting to feel disheartened when she finally found a grocery store.
The moment she saw the building, her eyes lit up and she smiled. She walked inside and grabbed a basket and began to walk over to the produce section. She began to grab a bunch of carrots that still had the greens attached to them and put them in her basket, she also grabbed some celery as well. She then began her hunt for parsnips. She began to look closer in the produce section. They looked a lot like carrots, but most supermarkets seemed to confuse the two. "Where could they be?" she thought, still looking for them.

"She sounds really nice. I wish my Mom was like that." Butterfly said.
"What about your girlfriend? What's she like? How did you meet her? she asked in a quiet voice, just about to drift off. She hoped that Ty's girlfriend would like her. She didn't wanna cause any trouble between the two of them, but she did wanna be able to spend time with her brother now that she knew she had one. She drifted off to sleep thinking about this and waiting for Ty to respond.

Butterfly listened. Hearing that their father used to beat him and was a horrible man to him, made her sad. "I'm sorry to hear that about your Mom, Ty. What was she like?"
"My mom never really stayed around much. Most of the time I felt like I didn't even exist to her. I have good memories of when I was really little, but I guess I wasn't enough to keep her happy." she explained.
"At least now we have each other, right?" she said with a yawn, the more he rubbed her back the more she got sleepy. She was almost to the point of falling asleep.

Butterfly smiled, tears still running down her face. She liked that he would stay for a little while and that he promised to come back.
She sat on the couch with Ty and calmed down as he rubbed her back. "Okay." she said when he mentioned taking her by Sanctuary. "Ty, what was my dad like? Why didn't he want me?" Butterfly just wanted to understand why no one wanted to be around her, why no one ever seemed to care.

Butterfly watched as he stood up. When he said that he was about to leave, she hung her head down "Oh, okay." she said in a sad tone and started to cry again. He was gonna leave her and she didn't know when he would be back, if he would even come back.
Butterfly got up off the cot and rushed over and hugged Ty, crying on his shoulder. "Please don't go! Don't leave me! I don't wanna be alone anymore." She held on to him tight still crying, trying to get him to stay. He was the only person she had in the world that even seemed to care. She had lost so many. She didn't wanna lose him too.

Butterfly followed him down the street and tried to take in all her surroundings. She noticed that Ty seemed to stare at a particular building until they had past it. "What's up with you and that building? Why do you keep staring at it?" she asked.
They continued walking until they got to a building with condemned on it. "I'm not gonna fall through the floors, am I?" she said following him into the building. When he opened the door to the apartment, she looked around. It wasn't much, but it sure as heck was better than sleeping on a park bench.
When he said that the thieves wouldn't be back, she looked at him with a questioning face. "Are you sure? I don't wanna repeat of the other night at my apartment in Macon."
She sat down on the cot and tested to see how comfy it was. She looked around a little bit more, then looked at Ty and asked "So what are you gonna do now?" She hoped that he would stay with her or at least not leave right away. For some reason, she just didn't wanna be alone right now. Even though they had just met, she wanted to be everywhere her brother was. She was really starting to become attached, something she hadn't let herself feel in a really long time, and boy did it feel good for a change.

Butterfly raised her head to look at him and listen while he talked. She smiled when he claimed being her brother and said that he was protective. She got up and finished listening to him. She wanted him to mean what he said and actually stay with her. She didn't wanna be left alone again. She was trying so hard not to become so attached, but for once in her life, she was actually happy about something. She wanted to go over to him and hug him, but she didn't cuz she didn't know how he would feel about that.
She wiped her tears away and told Ty to show her where the building was. It was nice of him to help her out. She thought that maybe she would finally have someone. Someone she could be close to, someone to share moments with, someone to finally claim her as family and stick by her no matter what happens. She hoped that this moment wouldn't be too goo to be true.
