The X-men run missions and work together with the NYPD, striving to maintain a peaceful balance between humans and mutants. When it comes to a fight, they won't back down from protecting those who need their help.
Haven presents itself as a humanitarian organization for activists, leaders, and high society, yet mutants are the secret leaders working to protect and serve their kind. Behind the scenes they bring their goals into reality.
From the time when mutants became known to the world, SUPER was founded as a black-ops division of the CIA in an attempt to classify, observe, and learn more about this new and rising threat.
The Syndicate works to help bring mutantkind to the forefront of the world. They work from the shadows, a beacon of hope for mutants, but a bane to mankind. With their guiding hand, humanity will finally find extinction.
Since the existence of mutants was first revealed in the nineties, the world has become a changed place. Whether they're genetic misfits or the next stage in humanity's evolution, there's no denying their growing numbers, especially in hubs like New York City. The NYPD has a division devoted to mutant related crimes. Super-powered vigilantes help to maintain the peace. Those who style themselves as Homo Superior work to tear society apart for rebuilding in their own image.

The water bubbling by her waist was soothing. There was a calm peace that Regan got when she was in water. Tigers loved to swim, and well, so did Regan. A fish swap by her leg and she held herself perfectly still as it circled back around her a few times. Finally as it settled to swim around her contently, she struck! She dived into the water and snatched the fish up in her clawed hands.
Suddenly she heard some say ‘Afternoon’ to her. It was a female voice and she swung around to face the voice. Her emerald eyes darted from the young woman to her pile of things by the water’s edge and back to the woman again. She had been seen and there was nothing she could do about it.
Still clutching the flapping fish in her hands, Regan gave a slight nod to the woman but didn’t move. “Hello.” She said in a small voice and she looked over the things the woman was carrying, one such item being a bow and a quiver of arrows. Regan gulped slightly and glanced back at her things. There was no way she would be able to wade out of the water and get her things to run before that woman could notch an arrow and shoot her, so she prayed that this woman was not hostile towards mutants.
As Tses commented on her lack of reading ability, Regan heard that typical tone that was clearly Tses. She was slowly starting to peek through the kind, bubbly girl that she had been over the last little while. Tses mentioned that she had left the bag in the bathroom upstairs and winced in pain. With a nod, Regan dropped down to all fours and took off like a shot out of the kitchen and skittered her way down the hallway and up the stairs to head back to her room to get the paper bag of meds off the counter.
When Regan got there she noted the pile of things on the floor. She grabbed a trash bag from under the sink and placed everything in it and stuffed it in her back pack quickly. She slung it on her back and ran back down the hall on all fours. When she reached the stairs, she launched herself off the top to land gracefully on her hands and feet at the bottom. She skidded around the corner and into the kitchen to find Tses curled up with her head in her knees.
Standing back up with a slight pant on her breath, she carefully walked over to Tses. She pulled off her back pack and placed it on the ground before fishing out the paper bag and reading the directions out loud so Tses would know them. “Ok it says here to take two tablets every four to six hours as required for pain.” She then grabbed the glass and handed the tiny bottle and the water to Tses. “Sorry, I can’t open the lid, damn cat hands.” She sighed and watched to see if Tses was going to be alright.
Regan watched as Rebecca stroked the fur on her forearm and then leaned in to rub her cheek against her soft fur. She smiled as this simple gesture made Rebecca happy and well, Regan liked to make people happy as much as possible. It made her feel just a little more human and a little less monster.
Rebecca complimented her once again and a fanged grin crossed over her maw. The thoughts of the nights that she had spent curled up against her “Father”, petting her soft fur as she fell asleep every night. She let out a soft sigh and longed for those days again, but they would never be again, her “Father” was gone. “Thanks Rebecca, it’s been a while since I had someone to cuddle with, but good to know that I’d be the best at it if I get the chance.”
Rebecca sure was a sweet girl. She gave Regan’s heart a little pang of hope that maybe, just maybe someone could love her. But then the thought of her fangs slicing someone’s lip in a kiss crossed her mind. She would never be able to go on a normal date either, who would want to be with someone who just wanted to stay home and hidden from the world? “Awww thanks Rebecca, you are too kind. That is something I just don’t think is in my foreseeable future. I’m not exactly the dateable type after all.” She shrugged her shoulders and looked down to the floor.
When Serena asked about Regan’s father, she gave a half smile. She sighed softly and started at the plant she was working on as she spoke. “Sadly he wasn’t my real father. He rescued me from Ireland during a visit and brought me back here. He was an older man, never had his own children and couldn’t bear seeing what was happening to me. He never told me his name, just told me to call him ‘Father’.” She zoned out for a moment and just stared off into space before snapping back to reality and giving Serena a small smile. “I loved him like he was my real father though.”
After looking down at Serena’s plant, Regan placed a clawed hand on Serena’s back. “Look at you go, you’re a natural Serena!” Regan was really impressed by the skill that Serena had with the trimmers and the plants. “You can come help me any time.”
Regan quickly frowned at Ty’s comment. She would never be able to resist wanting to touch all that history, coma or not. “Oh that’s unfortunate to hear. I guess that is quite the dilemma. I have downsides to my mutation too, being a cat isn’t all that great either. Super heightened senses and above human capabilities, itty bitty catch of looking like a tiger all the time.” She sighed a little and looked at her feet, her boot scuffing in the snow slightly.
As the change in subject came around Regan smiled again. She was glad to hear that Ty had faith that Butterfly would be in good hands at the mansion. “I’m sorry things have been tough for you Ty, I really hope things get better for you. I’m glad you have a place to stay. But even though Butterfly is going to be at the mansion, you are always welcome to come and visit us there.”
Regan looked rather puzzled with Sophia’s questions. She didn’t understand what the big deal about her taking a nap was. She was almost feeling like she was getting a lecture from a parent. “It’s true that the day time is a good time to get things done, but again, I have finished all of my work. I don’t have any other plans right now so I decided to relax with a nap. I don’t see the harm in that.” She sighed and shrugged her shoulders slightly. Sophia’s words were making her feel guilty even though she had nothing to feel guilty about. “I expend a lot of energy sometimes so I sleep quite a bit sometimes as well. It’s just what my body needs.” She tried to explain as best she could.
Regan couldn’t help but scoff a little at Sophia’s comment. Did she not see what Regan saw in her reflection? Besides looking like a cat, Regan did share a lot of traits with her feline counterparts. She ate a lot, liked to chase things and climb trees. She liked to snooze in the sun and run around in the snow. “I am more catlike then you think. Sometimes a mutation does more than just change how you look and what you can do. Mine has made me more like a cat. It’s just the way mutations work I suppose.”
Emerald eyes watched as the beast kept climbing up the tree towards her. The saber tooth hissed and growled as it kept creeping closer to her perch. Her ears flattened as the beast roared at her once again and leapt forward to try and swipe at her. She pulled herself back to avoid the claws and watched the creature float back down to the ground.
Head tilted to the side, the saber tooth watched as the beast puffed himself up and spread out it’s wing, trying to make itself look bigger. Another roar came from the creature, a challenge that the saber tooth was gladly going to accept. This may not be her turf, but damned if she was going to let another creature push her around.
The beast turned its attention for a moment in another direction. She sniffed the air for a moment and picked up a familiar scent but didn’t turn her attention off the beast below her. Taking this moment of opportunity to gain the upper edge, the saber tooth launched herself out of the tree towards her target, long tail flailing madly as she fell through the air, clawed arms out in front of her.
The crack of Vicente’s skull hitting the top of the cabinet made Regan jump and her blood run cold. She winced as he yelled out in pain. Oh what had she done? She should know better than to startle someone like that, but she was just so excited to see her friend.
She quickly ran over to his side and dropped down to her knees. Placing a clawed hand on his lower back and the other on his upper arm, she started to apologize profusely. “Oh my lord Vicente, I’m so sorry! Are you alright? Oh goodness, I didn’t mean to startle you like that. Do I need to get the first aid kit?”
She felt like such a fool! Regan hoped that Vicente wouldn’t be too mad at her for making him bash his head on the cabinet. She was just so happy to see him. She cursed herself under her breath a few times before looking back towards her large friend with concern in her emerald eyes, slight tears welling in her eyes as she feared he’d be angry with her. “I’m so sorry, I was just so excited to see you Vicente.” Her voice trailed off towards the end of the sentence, still feeling awful for causing his pain.
