The X-men run missions and work together with the NYPD, striving to maintain a peaceful balance between humans and mutants. When it comes to a fight, they won't back down from protecting those who need their help.
Haven presents itself as a humanitarian organization for activists, leaders, and high society, yet mutants are the secret leaders working to protect and serve their kind. Behind the scenes they bring their goals into reality.
From the time when mutants became known to the world, SUPER was founded as a black-ops division of the CIA in an attempt to classify, observe, and learn more about this new and rising threat.
The Syndicate works to help bring mutantkind to the forefront of the world. They work from the shadows, a beacon of hope for mutants, but a bane to mankind. With their guiding hand, humanity will finally find extinction.
Since the existence of mutants was first revealed in the nineties, the world has become a changed place. Whether they're genetic misfits or the next stage in humanity's evolution, there's no denying their growing numbers, especially in hubs like New York City. The NYPD has a division devoted to mutant related crimes. Super-powered vigilantes help to maintain the peace. Those who style themselves as Homo Superior work to tear society apart for rebuilding in their own image.

Just like that, they hung up, he was heading home and she was...sort of, heading home. Not in a direct line, mind you. You don't lead the cops to your house when you're smart. She looped back towards an old hideaway, and it seemed like she was getting the lead, when one last shot ricocheted...
And hit her in the arm.
Fan-fricking-tastic.
She ran, she hid, and about an hour after hanging up with Ty, she managed to drag her sorry butt back up the fire escape, and into the apartment window. She didn't see Ty right away, which was a relief. Maybe if she snuck really quietly she could get to the bathroom before he heard her....
She could hear the disappointment in his voice, and part of her felt builty for answering the phone like she had. But it was hard to have a touching reunion when the cops were closing in on your tail.
"Here, where is here? The house?" She yelped slightly as another shot skimmed her shoulder. Cursing more loudly, she snarled at the cops behind her. "Hey! I'm trying to have a phone call!"
The ping of another bullet sent her scrambling for a fire escape. She shoved the phone down her shirt as she scrambled for safety, with a "Please hold!" With acrobatic grace she clambered onto the roof top and tried to ignore the burning in her muscles. After jumping to the next building, she pulled the phone back out. "Glad...you're still kickin..." It was hard to talk and run at the same time.
Tses wasn't good at goodbyes, temporary or not. She also wasn't good at waiting, since patience seemed to elude her. After Ty slipped into a comma, she struggled to deal with the possibility of one, and the inevitability of the other. She didn't know how long he would be out, but as time wore on, she felt herself slipping away.
Distance made it a little better, so did activity. She took back up theft to keep the apartment and feed Ty's cat, but it was difficult to manage payments on her own especially since this place was nicer than her old one. At first she was sad, then she was angry, now she just felt bitter and irritated. She stopped carrying her phone, sulked, but eventually just learned there was nothing she could do.
The phone returned to her pocket. And the thieving continued.
The phone call came at the worst time, some three months after Ty's coma started. After a rather large (and clumsy) heist at a local music store, she found herself running down the streets as the cops yelled after her. Her light form had gotten her out the mall, and halfway to safety, but it was the middle of the month, and her energy faded quickly. The phone buzzed sometime when the first shot fired. Tses ducked, and quickly put the reciever to her ear.
"Can't really talk right now..."She panted, and a bullet pinged off the building next to her. She cursed and ducked into an alley.
The name had an unexpected effect on Tses. At first, she opened her mouth to make another snarky remark, then the memories rushed back. The giant cockroach in her living room, threatening her. The dumb bug Ty worked for. Suddenly, she backed away, but not before her light form wavered and she reverted back to human form. The light still crawled around her figure like a cocoon, but the anger and fear overran her concentration, and the drained feeling she had was countered by the sudden adrenaline. Backing away quickly, she sought her remaining energy reserves just in case, and tried to keep her composure. It seemed a little late for that though.
Roach. She was scared of a freakin' cockroach. No, she was scared of someone who broke into her house only to mock her at her lowest. She was scare of someone who had proven he would use her against Ty, and he against her. "Roach is a maniac, and if you were smart, you would get out while you could." Was all she whispered finally. It made sense Sylar was mentored by Roach. It seemed the influence of Serena had only lasted so long.
"If you aren't a monster now, he'll turn you into one." She added, then turned to flee.
Tell the truth. Yeah, like that would happen. Tses crossed her arms sourly and glared at the older mutant. Maybe it wasn't the most appropriate thing to do when you were caught out of bounds, but she was sick of getting bossed around by these mansion know it alls. Technically, they had just wandered into the room. It wasn't like she had tricked blondie into turning the room on.
It was her verses the bratty kid. The only consulation was he seemed mad at both of them. "Someone was walking out, we ran in. You guys are the ones with the frickin' monsters built into your mutant manor. Clearly, you have some security issues." She should have felt relieved to be rescued. Maybe she should beg to get out of there. But she was somewhat irritated he didn't even begin to consider someone else was equally responsible for their hijacking of the Danger Room.
Tses was somewhat torn as the new figure stepped into view. On the one hand, she was relieved someone was here who could deal with the monsters and the crazy room they were trapped in. On the other, his demeanor and response to their presence warned her he was unhappy to find them here. So, she did the only thing she could think of.
She pointed a figure at Clyde. "It was his fault."
Sidestepping away from some of the monsters, she glared at the kid pointedly. "I don't know my way around the mansion. He never told me you have a frickin' room that attacks people when you walk into it."
Tses considered the options, and finally decided as long as they were stealing something, she didn't really care what it was. "Okay, I guess we can do this 'heist' of yours, then eat when we get back. We can take the money, and maybe snag one of the display bears if it's cute enough..." She considered, which took enough of her focus she didn't resist the kiss much. Occasionally she had to grumble about the mushy stuff though, otherwise Ty may get the idea she had softened up or something.
The heist could help with that though.
"So are we conducting this robbery during the daylight then? I admit that's not the usual tactic..." She thought out loud. The only thing she stole in daylight was a pair of earrings, and she ended up with a rather frightening friend at that point.
I'd like to nominate Paige! While I haven't threaded with Fishy's spork shifter recently, I still get to read all the shenanigans and have enjoyed seeing her progress as a character : )
Tses watched Ty scheme, relieved he was doing the planning now, but also curious what he would want them to do. She made a face slightly at the 'spirit of love' part, but then she seemed to consider the rest.
Build-A-Bear. It was tempting, but... "Are we stealing money or unstuffed cute and fuzzies?" She snorted slightly at the image of Ty trying to drag a bag filled with unstuffed tigers home.
Tses monologues, Sylar monologue. In the end they were just two talking heads, the words meaning little to either of them. Sylar clearly wasn't afraid of her, and Tses wasn't afraid of him. At least, not at first. Something about he doesn't like you sent a cold chill down her spine. Tses only really had one person who made her feel afraid at this stage in her life. But she would be damned before she left Sylar know that.
"I'm not afraid of your master, however he is." She snapped defensively. She paced sideways, feeling the light form flicker momentarily as she lost concentration and slipped back into physical form. The mental exertion to hold this form was becoming more than she bargained for. She wuld need to leave soon if the conversation got more heated, or risk poking the proverbial bear only to find herself very tangible and stabbable.
Tses sat in silence for a moment, considering his question. She rarely thought through a heist, and even the Valentine's Day stuff she stole was mostly on a whim: a little of this, a little of that. It was hard to plan because plans changed anyway. It was easier to fly by the seat of your pants. But, considering the shape she was in after the chaos of the past few months, maybe planning wasn't so bad.
"You pick." Tses remarked finally, and nested back into the couch.
In normal circumstances, Tses would have woken up much sooner had some stranger entered her house. However, with injuries, and stress, and general chaos, a deep sleep was much needed for the exhausted mutant. Unlike Ty, she was sleeping rather calmly for once. At least, she had been. Until a terrifyingly familiar voice rang out and sent her screeching through the bed in undignified fear.
Through. Yes, through.
As the darkness under the bed, Tses glowed like a lightning bug. The faint trail of light illuminated the bedskirt, and it was painfully obvious where she had went. If the curses coming from the location didn't reveal that.
Amidst the profanity, the words 'What is he doing here?' may have worked their way in. In squeaky un-authoritative pained cowering.
Ty said the word 'date' and Tses casually looked around for any sign of danger. It still felt risky saying that word right now, after their relationship slid into it's rockiest levels. But nothing blew up, the sky didn't crash down, and she let herself nest up against him, however cautiously.
"I guess that could be fun." She slowly decided. Still no fire and brimstone. Maybe it would be fine.
At the mention at staging a heist, Tses let out a snort of laughter. She motioned to the screen where Hardison was tangled in the ropes he had been scaling the building in. Parker looked less than impressed.
"If we did a heist, that would be you." She teased with a taunting smirk. She didn't mention that she didn't have the best track record with heists. The last time she robbed something a detective with a detachable head ended up tailing her...
